Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: Well I have been trying to lose weight for a while now, but I would count my official start date as 6/18/07! I am going to do it for sure this time!!
Starting Weight: My highest weight was almost 200lbs, I don't remember how long ago, but I remember stepping on the scale at my dr.'s office and seeing almost 200, so I have lost some since then. But I was not trying really hard.
Present Weight: 167.8
Goal Weight: 115-120 - I want to fit into a size 4!!
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Being aware of what I am eating, I bought a notebook and I am writing down everything I am eating and drinking and the exercise I am doing. I really think this will help!
Following any specific plan: I am not following any specific plan, a little low carb - I am not being too restrictive because I have done low carb in the past and lost a lot of weight but I gained it back too quickly and more than I had lost. So pretty much just eating sensible, a lot more veggies, I try to eat a salad a day. I am also eating a lot of vegeterian meals, like veggie burgers, veggie chicken, etc.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I am now single and I only have to worry about me and not if my partner is going to eat what I am cooking or not. I found it very hard to stay healthy when your partner won't eat what you are cooking and would rather eat unhealthy food.

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: Like, September? Starting in December though I fell off the wagon big time. I got engaged, changed jobs unexpectedly (laid off), bought newer cars, bought a house and during all this I ate worse and worse. I started drinking soda again! Soda! Ugh. Then yesterday I noticed the my engagement ring was tight and really looked at my hands. My fingers have gained weight-they're puffy! Somehow that was more of a wakeup call than my clothing getting tight.
Starting Weight: It was 133 or so.
Present Weight: Now I don't know. I don't want to know honestly... At least 133 still...
Goal Weight: I hope to get back to 120 or so.
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: I love food and I eat when stressed. I've been stressed a lot so I eat. And then I feel guilty for making bad food choices and eat because I'm depressed over it and life in general.
Following any specific plan: No. I just need to quit the junk food and start exercising. Even walking would be better than what I'm doing now (lying on the couch every night and watching TV or reading).
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I'm engaged. I want to be a healthy bride for my fiance and myself.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I've filled this out before but I hadn't been on the boards since December (before my engagement and everything else that has happened) so I wanted to update.
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Motivation. Now that I live alone, I don't have as much of a problem eating low fat, my main problem is getting motivated to exercise. Since I'm a server, I'm on my feet most of the day so when I get home I just want to relax.
Following any specific plan: Not really, just eating less. I'm not weighing myself unless I go back to Alabama. It's the only scale I will use, so I may actually weigh less than 220. I plan on going home at the end of July, so we'll see then!!
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I do not have as many temptations around me all the time. I've slowed down on my drinking and my eating as well. I used to be a partier, but I'm trying to cut WAY back on the alcohol.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Drinking! All my friends are partiers. Not to mention musicians, so they're always playing gigs at the bars. Not drinking beer. Also my fear of jogging in public.
Following any specific plan: Not particularly, just low calorie (1200-1400) plus making sure I get a minimum of 30 mins cardio 6 days a week and 45 mins strength training 3 times a week.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I've always done fad diets, or put in so much effort that i've lost weight quickly in an unrealistic way so taht i've managed to put most of it back on.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Not gaining it all back when I go to school in the fall and don't have my mom to cook healthy food for me (she does Weight Watchers).
Following any specific plan: Not really, just trying to drink more water, eat more fruits and veggies, take my vitamin every day, and limiting myself to 1 non-diet soda per day (I'm a Mountain Dew addict).
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I haven't really actively tried to lose weight before. I gained weight my freshman year of high school, but lost it my sophomore year when I started doing weight training in gym class. Now I want to get back to the weight I was then by the time I go back to school in the fall!

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I am sincerely afraid for my health right now. I come from a family of eaters who all have serious health conditions and I do not want that and I do not want my children scared for my life like I am for my mothers.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Not overeating with friends/family. I am super-healthy on my own, but I have a tendency to drink waaaaay too much beer and other alcoholic drinks, bar food, party food etc. And when you are going out 3-4 times a week, it adds up fast!

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: In the past, by the time I've gotten under 130, I've tricked myelf into thinking that I am just naturally slender or something completely untrue, so I start eating really unhealthily and gain it back and then some really quickly. Also, I think my metabolism is completely shot from so much yo-yo dieting. As my friend Jerry says, "I gain weight from standing still for a few minutes."

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I've never really tried too hard to lose weight. I've gone on a diet here or there, maybe 2 or 3 times, but I was never really serious about it. This time is soooo much different for me. I feel so strongly about finally getting healthy!
