Height: 5'7.5"

Default

First name (if you want to tell): Kate

Geographical location: West Michigan

Age: 21

Marital Status: Single (ah, nothing pulls out all of your insecurities quite like dating!)

Children/Ages: None, and not planning on any!

Occupation: College student/part-time librarian

Pets: None in my apartment, but back home I have 3 cats and a Boston terrier

Hobbies/Interests: Reading, writing, watching movies of any kind, walking with my iPod

Height: 5'7.5", but I always say 5'8"

Eye/Hair Color: Brown/fake red in dire need of a touch-up

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: August of 2004 I started losing (after years of trying) and lost around 30 pounds, and now I'm trying to lose the rest

Starting Weight: 195.6 (probably higher but I wouldn't let myself check)

Present Weight: 163 (I think; I don't have a scale)

Goal Weight: I'm saying 160 now, but once I get there I'll try to get to 150 and see if I'm able to upkeep that weight

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: I like giant portions-- my fantasies consist of enormous bowls of pasta!

Following any specific plan: Counting calories, trying to stay around 1300-1400 per day

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: It's working now!

Anything else you would like to share with us: I've been a vegetarian since I was 5 (ever seen Charlotte's Web? It's traumatic!), and I'm very proud of all of us for being here!

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Emotional eating. I've battled depression off and on for most of my life and food can be pretty darn tempting at times.

Following any specific plan: Eating healthfully and exercise.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I haven't really made a true attempt before excempt the one time I tried an herbal weight loss pill that made me viciously ill.

Anything else you would like to share with us: At my heaviest I was a D cup and now I'm DDD which just confuses the **** out of me!

Geographical location: Ottawa, Canada

Age: 22

Occupation: Government

Pets: Toby, My loving overweight Cat

Hobbies/Interests: Music, Sports, Outdoor stuff (Camping, Hiking, Fishing, etc)

Starting Weight: 185

Present Weight: 181

Goal Weight: 135 for now.. when I get there I'll probably go lower.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: My 117 lb room mate - we're eating buddies but she has the metabolism all of us dream for! She has a way of convincing me to eat things I know I shouldn't but she's trying to be supportive!

Following any specific plan: Just trying to eat healthy and get back into Exercise. I think the biggest thing for me, is I am planning out my meals each week and sticking to it by only buying the foods on my list.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I have never tried to lose weight in the past, this is my first attempt!

Anything else you would like to share with us: I am trying to overcome generations of bad Genes - All the ladies in my family are much too well endowed up top, and gain weight around the stomach, but no where else (as in, I have no Butt/Hips whatsoever). It's hard to watch Family Videos and see what I will become if I don't make a change!

Children/Ages: 3 boys; ages 10, 8, & 3.

Occupation: SAHM

Pets: A Shih Tzu (who looks NOTHING like a shih tzu, but he really is) named Bandit and a Kitty named Cali.

Hobbies/Interests: My family, Photography, Muscle Cars, Movies

Height: 5'1"

Height: 5'5''

Default

First name (if you want to tell): Allie

Geographical location: currently in North Georgia at home, but will head back up to Boston for an internship and then the rest of school in a few weeks

Age: 19 (so not quite 20-something, but there's nowhere else for me!)

Marital Status: dating around, just got out of a long term long distance relationship

Children/Ages: not for another 10 years or so

Occupation: student majoring in international relations (with focus on poverty and inequality), politics, and Latin American studies.... for summer I'm an intern at an immigration and refugee aid nonprofit

Pets: alapaha bulldog named Moxie that lives with my parents

Hobbies/Interests: politics, activism, current events, learning multiple foreign languages, foreign films

Height: 5'5''

Eye/Hair Color: brown

Starting Date of Weight Loss Journey: May 15, 2007

Starting Weight: 225

Present Weight: 218

Goal Weight: mini goal of 199 (one-derland!), long term goal of 135

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weight loss: I don't often have access to healthy food. I don't have a car at college so I have a really hard time getting to a grocery store to buy food, plus that's a waste of a very expensive meal plan that has a very tiny selection of healthy food (much of which I can't eat anyway due to a dairy allergy). When I'm at home, my parents can't afford to buy all the veggies I need for my diet.

Following any specific plan: South Beach

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I have the means to stick to it, specifically by living by myself for most of the summer where I'll be able to get a bike and get around the city by bike or foot. Before I've always lived in a ruralish area at the edge of the suburbs where you absolutely need a car to get anywhere and there's no leash law so dog chase me where ever I go!

Anything else you would like to share with us: I love to talk, so if I seem interesting or if you have even vaguely similar goals to me, feel free to message me!

Hobbies/Interests: I love to shop!! I also love cooking and watching movies. I spend time playing games online and going to bingo sometimes..

Height: 5'2'"

Eye/Hair Color: brown/brown

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: Hmm... this time May 17,2007

Starting Weight: 191.5

Present Weight: 189

Goal Weight: About 140 or so...

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: I love to snack and I eat snacks with my kids all the time. SWEETS are my weakness!! I love greasy stuff too. Have to stop eating just because I'm bored..

Following any specific plan: Metabolic Research Center

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I'm paying someone to give me info and keep tabs! Never paid my own money. I guess it means more when you sacrifice for something.

Anything else you would like to share with us: Hmmm not for now!

Default new and excited

Hello all,
I am new in this thing and wanted to make some new(hopefully forever) friends that are intersted in weight loss and healthy lifestyles. I am 23, live In Southern California. I am back home with mom(long story). Anyway, someone suggested I go into featherweights but I decided not to because losing weight and overcoming food addiction is all the same!

Anyway girls, I hope you are all having a fabulous day! Oh, by the way, how do we check if we got replies? This site confuses me a bit.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Avoiding junk food and finding time to exercise

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: Probably attitude. In the past, I've never really tried to lose weight, either it came off on its own or I didn't really commit to anything and would just put any lost weight right back on. This time around, I think I really have the mindset for weight loss and I feel willing to try hard and make sacrifices

I want to wear pretty clothes and be able to run with my husband. Basically, I'm finally tired of being a blob; I've been stubborn enough to lose weight before, I can do it again!
