Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: This January I started a serious attempt, and went strong for about a month and a half, but then lost the exercising. Over the summer, I tried to exercise once in a while. Now I'm dead set on getting this weight off, beginning September 1st!
Starting Weight: 227
Present Weight: 212
Goal Weight: 150 for now. I can't imagine being 150. Once I get there, I'll see if I feel like I could use losing more! No less than 130 though.
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: I am so self conscious when I go to the gym. It makes me lose motivation, and then I stop going. I have been eating healthy for the past 2 years, except for late night snacking!
Following any specific plan: Continue watching what I eat. Start counting calories again. Exercise consistently!
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I am no longer a vegetarian. Now I have a lot more choices for meals, and I have to make sure that I continue to make healthy decisions while eating. Plus, ALL of my roommates in my apartment this year have the desire to lose weight (and they're not stick-thin!). I'm hoping we'll be each others' support group.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I know we can do this.
Hobbies/Interests: Baking, cooking, reading, anime/manga, music, photography, watching TV, movies, animals.. and now losing weight.
Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: For about the past year I've been having troubles with my weight. Stress, depression, chronic joint pain (and no insurance) have given me a run for my money as far as weight management. Today (Sept 7, 07) I've officially begun my honest effort to lose the excess baggage.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: I'm a complete foodie. I love learning new things about food/cooking/baking. I try to take everything in moderation but that's just not working for me anymore. I also have a huge problem exercising becasue of my joint problems so I have to find something to help mpve the weight so I'm trying out swimming. I also need to curb my late night eating habits. I tend to munch munch munch once it hits about 8pm or so..
Following any specific plan: I'm going to try the South Beach. If I need ti make modifications along the way and switch my diet to my needs I will.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I mean it.

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: Who knows? At the end of high school I became very aware of my weight, although I wasnt very overweight at all at that time. Maybe 140? Then I went up to 158 over the years after graduating. In 2002 I did Atkins for 2 months, got down to 127 and slowly went up the next few years, topping out at a whopping, and disgusting, 164 about 2 years ago after a couple years of binge drinking and late night fast food. Those days have since passed (I still party probably harder than I should ), and this if the first time I've REALLY tried to do anything (healthy), been about 8 months since I started and 6 months since I've really buckled down. So I'll go with February 2007!

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: As sad as it sounds, my biggest hurdle is chosing lower calories drinks at bars I am not an emotional eater, my life is for the most part, stress free and fairly luxurious and leisurely. I hate sweets and am not a fan of greasy foods so I don't have the usual pitfalls of the average person trying to lose weight. Alcohol was my my main enemy, but I love her too much to let go entirely
Following any specific plan: Just calorie counting, trying to stick to 1200-1400 a day, with plenty of things I love mixed in!
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: This is the first time I made people aware that I am trying to lose weight. I felt like when I actually admitted it out loud "I'm chubby", it made it so much easier to deal with and talk about. I told my boyfriend and he joined me, he's 6'1" 230 himself so he;s no heffer, pertty muscular with a little extra...but now he's down to 206 and looking MYTEE fine! I loved the way he looked a 230 and didnt think it could get any better Nwo that we are in it together, its fun and I enjoy it.
Also, I have a looming vacation to Cabo San Lucas with the SO in January and I'd like to wear my bikini without offending the other vactioners We're aiming to be the hottest tourists in Mexico! And I think we're going to make it!!!

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I am finally realising that this is jst a practical step I have to take to get where I want to be. Instead of wanting weight loss to make me happy, I'm gonna get happy, more confident and lose weight!
