skinny- I am also impressed that I live long enough to tell about it. I am 5'10 272 lbs. No skinny minnie. I wear a size 22 pants and a 2XL shirt. I can guarantee that I am a sight to see while I am hauling my big ol booty down the road. But, whatev. I don't care what people think. After all, I am the one out running. Right?

Hey C25K-er's! I am not actually doing the C25K program exactly but I am doing a running group that is loosely based on the C25K plan. There are like 90 people in this running group and they have us broken up into 5 or 6 smaller teams. Surprisingly I'm in one of the higher level teams... it's NOT easy! We started three weeks ago. We do a group run on Mondays and then are expected to repeat what we did two more times that week.

The first week we did 2 minutes running and 2 minutes walking 8 times. The second week we did 3 minutes running and 2 minutes walking 8 times. I didn't go to the second class and I didn't do my homework runs so you can imagine how I was hurting on week 3 when we did 6 minutes of running, 3 minutes of walking, and then 3 minutes of running, 2 minutes of walking 6 times!! Ugggghh! I almost died seriously. Then on top of that this little high school girl in my group showed up late and missed the 6 minute run... and I could tell she didn't want to do it alone after we were all done so I did that with her too. I made it... barely.

I did my first homework assignment last night. I took it easy and did it on the treadmill. I walk at about 3.3 mph and run at 5.5 - 6.5. I'm sure when I'm outside I go much slower.

My goal for my 5k... still got 7 weeks to go is to finish in 30 minutes. If I can do that I will be soooo happy!!

Are you guys planning on running in a 5k race? Is it for some charity? If so, which one?

Well ladies...I just got back from repeating W1D1 because it was nearly impossible pushing a baby the first time haha, and I think I did well. I feel awesome, and ready to keep going despite the 90 degree sun beating down on me!

Oh Ladies....

Week 6, Day 2 will have to be a repeat. I just can't quite finish the second 10 minute run. I don't know if I'm not ready or what. But, at least I'm doing it! Right?

My 5K is a charity run. Not running for time. Just to finish. Hoping for a first time of around 45 minutes!

My annoying (as opposed to gentle and melodious) alarm went off at 6:00 this morning. I was attempting to be ambitious and get in both the jog AND an early start. One glance out the window changed that. It was still pitch black outside. I wasn't ready to venture out through an unfamiliar town in the dark.

Conditions were much better 45 minutes later. I put on my "jogging gear" and headed out.

It took approximately half the workout to pass through the entire *downtown*, including The Stoplight. After the middle 2 minute break, I turned around and made it back to the motel shortly after the five minute cool down finished.

No problems with the run... I felt fine but definitely missed having Lucy next to me. I also note that it was my first attempt to run in the morning. All of my other runs have been in the evening.

I did w3d2 on friday. My internet shut off for a few days, so I'm writing this now. I don't think I can do the last day today. Yesterday I moved all the furniture in my living room for a change. Started at 11:30 AM and didn't stop until 1:30 AM. Took a dinner break. I feel like crap today, especially since the huge wooden drawers above my TV fell on my arm last night. I don't think I'll bother even completing day 3 since I've found the repeat of week 3 easy.

I just finished W1D2 and i just feel like im going too fast. I have a hard time going at any pace other than fast so i get tired really fast and have a hard time finishing even the short runs. Im not sure how to make myself go slower to be able to build up to doing more. I also have a very large chest and even with wearing a bra AND a sports bra they wont stay STILL and it just seems to make it harder on me! I see people talk about sports bras but all the good ones are like over 50$ and i dont have that kind of money to put into a bra! HELP!

restarting w4 AGAIN this week. Sigh. I'm about to take a nap so I don't crash and burn like I did last time.

You're scared for 20 minutes???

I'm freaking out over a measly 5 minutes in a week or two (gonna do W2D3 tues, W3D1 thurs)(all out of whack because I'm going out of town again Wed-Sat next week)

But seriously, it sounds like you're doing great! Five weeks ago, who'd have imagined you'd run EXTRA? I'm sure you'll be fine.

I just did w4d1 an hour ago.I was so scared to even do it. I thought I was going to die, but I didn't. I actually got through it, but only because I had to take a break after the 5 minute run. My heart (at least it felt like it was my heart) was hurting badly, but I forced myself to finish the 5 minutes. The next 2 sets of running was easier. It'll be easier next time. Hopefully...

Overall I'm very happy I did w3 again. It made me ready for this week. I might not be able to do w5d3. It looks insane. I might chicken out and want more time. W4 seems easier in a way than w3. My body must be getting used to it. But w5d3....that one looks bad. skinnywish, I feel for you. LOL
