  • missed my w6d2 last night, so will have to do it again tonight after yoga, which i don't like to do, but that's what i get! cold and rainy here....blah!
  • W1D2 done! Don't know if I have the energy to do making the cut though, I'm still sore from Monday. :P
  • ok you guys, i'm totally slacking. i skipped yoga AND my w6d2 run tonight!!! what's going on with me?!? this means i will need to run friday and sunday to finish my week, which ends with a 25 minute run...oh man...i'm gonna be cursing myself on sunday!
  • Just finished w5d2. Was easy. I don't think I can get through d3. 8 minutes doesn't tire me out until the last two minutes. I could probably do an extra 2 to get to 10, but double that all at once? I don't think so. I think I'll have to give myself a few minutes recovery in between, especially to message my calves.

rocketbunny & carcar05: Awesome that you guys signed up for a 5k!!

    spikedpunch & munchievictim: Welcome!

skinnywish: It's probably just a bad week. Once you do d2, you'll feel a need to complete the week. That's how I feel. Right now, I'm a few days behind on my other exercise. I'm trying to squeeze it in.
  • I just finished W1D2 last night. It's going fine, but my heels (the bottom of them) hurt now (they also hurt last night) maybe it's heel spurs?!

I have a question...I started Week 1 last Saturday, and while I've worked out, didnt have time to go running until last night, which means if I take today off, I'll be a day over in my week (tomorrow is Saturday and should be the beginning of Week 2). Does that make sense?

I'm thinking of doing W1D3 today, but then i'd be running 3 days in a row. Is that bad? I actually feel like I'm up to it!

i think that early in the program it won't be bad. it is not a hardcore workout your body would need to time to recover from. if you feel like it, go for it.
  • Thanks! I did W1D2 last night and it was fine. Right now I'm debating starting W2D1 today, or just going to the gym and starting W2 tomorrow! My legs and feet are a little sore from the running
  • hey guys newbie here. and let me tell you i just got my bodybugg/gowear fit Monday and it has been such a reality. Ladies and Gents please invest in one because I think it is a must if you are a person who struggles alot with weight there is nothing that compares to the bodybugg. This is my w1d2 of c25k and i also did 20 minutes of elliptical and 20 minutes of biking and let me tell you I burned 650 calories for my entire workout!! I surpassed all my daily goals. oh and by the way the machines are never correct when they tell you how much calories you burned. It shows more calories than you actually burn.Treadmills are a little more accurate because they been out the longest. But I am happy with my numbers. 2morrow I am going to do 30ds and see how much calories I burn. Maybe you ladies/gents can get an idea. But I am not up to Natalie's level just on Anita. My post was taken down the other day, I guess I forgot to read the fine print on something but if you ladies want check out the samples on all jillian michaels DVD it is on youtube. The user name is xbabiboopx (please don't take my posting down I am just spreading what I found on the internet). The Jillian Michaels Cardio Kickboxing rocks. Check it out on the chick's youtube channel.
  • whoops! Haven't run in over a week. Where would be a good place to restart? w3???
  • That's me too leighish! Funny how life intervenes isn't it? I never did finish week 6 successfully. I think I am going to go back to week 4 and progress again. I think Week 3 is fine for you!
  • Woo! I was in Las Vegas half of last week for work.

I flew in on Wednesday afternoon, got to my hotel (Hard Rock) and immediately changed into my running gear. Just running "around the block" was a perfect distance for W4D1. Unfortunately I'd misgauged the amount of water I would need and ran out right after the 3rd interval.

I did W4D2 on Friday morning, after having been out dancing until 2am the night before. I woke up around 9ish and changed into my jogging clothes hoping that
    A. It wouldn't be too hot already
    and
    B. My legs and feet wouldn't be too beat from walking the convention all day Thursday (not to mention the dancing in 3" heels the night before)

Well, it was hot alright. Clear skies and the sun beating down at 9am, but at least my legs were fine. The five minute runs were a little harder, but I'm getting better at just ignoring the amount of time I have left and running until "the nice voice tells me to stop".

Anyway, while I was NOT as good foodwise (too many desserts and rich foods) as I'd hoped I'd be, the scale this morning showed me down .2 lbs from my last weigh in back on last tuesday morning.

I'll do W4D3 tonight and finally get back on schedule of doing one week during one week. It'll help immensely that I don't have any more trips planned for the rest of C25K. Yay!

By now you might have done W5D3. It sure looks like a big jump from 8 to 20, but the designers of the program must have thought that most people who have been following it up to that point should be capable.

I just finished W4D3 and am starting W5 on Tuesday. I look at the schedule and think "This is the big one. The big jump." I've done so much already. I like to think that when W5D3 comes, I'll be able to shut off my mind and my negative thoughts and just go for it!
  • Well I finished Week 1 on Friday! Starting Week 2 tomorrow!

My plan is to do C25k on MWF and the 30DS on T & TH (as long as I'm up to it- I am not going to go crazy about it if I miss the 30DS, but I'd really love to be doing that as well) and then I'll rest on the weekends. Obviously this is flexible and the C25k is my top priority right now.

PMS has made this weekend hellish as far as food intake goes... It was really impossible to say no. Okay, obviously not impossible, but I didn't say no. I ate until I didn't want to eat anymore and BOY do I feel bloated and gross. Can't wait for W2D1 tomorrow morning to make me feel good again! Been drinking TONS of water to flush it all out too.

    Keep it up ladies!!
  • W5D1 is done.

The weather in Houston has been absolutely lovely the last few days. Cool (for summer) and breezy with clear skies. It won't last though, so I've made it one of my goals to start regularly running in the morning.

I awoke this morning around 7am and stiffly rolled out of bed. According to the temperature guage, it was in the high 60s, so I decided to skip my new (bought yesterday) sleeveless running shirt and go with a short-sleeve cotton shirt. Lucy was happy to get out of her crate. She did some stretching and off we went.

The three 5-minute intervals were easy after my runs last week. I know I'm ready to do the 8 minute runs.... but I'm still debating if I want to stay with Ullrey's podcast for the 20 minute run. I know I'll be running along tracking the warnings for the other runs. Podrunner might be a good alternative. We'll see.
  • W2D1 done.

Does/did anyone else have hangups about running outside when you're on the earlier weeks? It's gorgeous out and i would've loved to have done it outside, but i don't want my neighbors to know that i can't run for more than 90 seconds at a time. Which is dumb, because i'm sure no one will be paying attention to me (and heck, I'd be past their house by 90 seconds). I wanted to do it at night when less people are out, but running at night with an mp3 player on is probably not the safest idea.
