brooksrm-I don't want to do mine either! it's rainy and icky here but my husbands a runner and he convinced me to do a run with him tomorrow to make up for it! Lol lets see if I actually do it... My body wants to but my head isn't used to it yet
I did mine but... it was supposed to be a 25 minute run and I only managed 20. I think I'm getting sick and I gave it my best shot but I just didn't have the energy.
I'm mad though bc I met my fam for dinner and they picked cracker barrel, which has nothing nutritious, and by all my best guesses (rounding up of course), I had about 2100 calories today.
I just started C25K also! I didn't realize there was a thread before now. Today was my very first day. I have NEVER been able to run. NEVER. I always feel like I can't breathe... like I'm going to collapse. Even though I've been doing cardio regularly (mostly elliptical) at the gym for the past 2 months, running for 1 minute is still very hard for me... seriously. And my heart rate was through the roof!
After today I can't even imagine running for 5 minutes straight, let alone 30 mins! I thought I would be ready with all the exercising I've been doing lately. I've just always hated running... never been a runner.
Did/does anyone else feel the same way? This gets easier, right?
bees- It sure does! I was exactly you the first time I started it. Stick to it and dont push too hard. You will be so surprised as to what your body can do.
week 3 day 2 today! that last 3 minute run still feels like its 15 minutes long lol but it was easier this time i didnt grab the bar not once. and the 90 second runs were easy! i love that i can tell its getting easier and i am progressing. and i am only super sweaty when i am doing c25k and the stairclimber so i love it cause i feel like its burning hardcore fat. hopefully off of my thighs and arse
hey all! can i join in too? just finished w1 d1, and came straight to 3fc to start a thread...apparently i wasn't the only one with this thought and here i thought i had such a good idea for a new thread.
anyway, the run kicked my butt into realizing how completely out of shape i am...i have started the program in hopes of being ready to start a half marathon training program by the middle of june, to run a half on (canadian) thanksgiving weekend, october 10 or 11.
man, i have to do w1d2 tonight and i already have shin splints from my first run...anyone have any good tips on how to avoid them or how to prevent them in the first place?
