So I just bailed on my workout this morning. XD First day of 30DS that I'm not going to do it. I think my body and my mind just need a break... Which isn't a problem. I mean I have worked out everyday for the last four days. I deserve a rest, don't I? I mean as long as I get right back to it tomorrow, right?

Meh.

Sorry I've been MIA the past few days! My best friend was in town and I was home for maybe 3 hours aside from sleeping. I had a great time, was a little off eating plan, but kept up with exercise. We'll see what happens when I weigh in for the week tomorrow!

I hope everyone is doing well - I look forward to catching up on the thread.

garnetrising, don't feel bad about taking a rest! As long as you're exercising regularly, taking a day (or even two) off a week is perfectly acceptable.

Hey ladies.. stopping for a minute... I have a huge cold and feel blagh.. staying at about ~ 1,700 calories today.. I am trying to stay on track.. lately i find i am having a hard time eating enough all day, then in the evening I am snacking.. I need to figure something out.. maybe need to save my workout for the evenings... will work it out.. I know I will get it worked out... Just have to find that perfect balance...

Garnet. i've listened to Jillian say a million times, the importance of taking 2 days of rest days out of a week!!!!! she advocates working out for 1 hour for 5 days and resting for 2 days out of a week. its up to you, if you want to take 2 days together, or workout for 3 days then take 1 day rest, and then work out for another 3 days and then take 1 day rest and so omn.

so of course you should be taking rest days !!!

Jillian talks about how working out is the architecture of the body and rest is the builder. you most certainly need to let your body rest. its CRUCIAL for weight loss.

exercise is a form of stress to the body. so you most certainly need rest.

today = terrible confession. did no exercise. had no time. was busy with family. and today food wise was terrible. over ate !

i'm drawing a massive line beneath all of last week. and starting from scratch and from a clean slate tommorow!!

tommorow i am going to be METICULOUS with food. no more over eating !

tommorow's aims are:

wake up, and have a very light breakfast, of a few almonds and fruit.
then after 30 minutes. do my p90x legs and back workout, and ab ripper X

then have a breakfast of fruit and fibre cereal.

then wait for an hour and get ready to go to the grocery store which i will go by bike.

and i'm going to eat 1200 calories tommorow. as i've really been over eating this past week so my body wont mind the decrease in calories.

so that means each meal will be about 400 calories. will load up on high volume but low calorie foods (like veg and salad) to feel fuller.

i am really determined to do this. i feel so uncomfortable , over eating.

tommorow is a brand new day!

Aw, thanks guys. I know I need the rest days. I just worry that if I skip today I'll make a pattern of it. But I won't. All I have to do is get up in the morning and work out. It's not that hard.

In the meantime, I ate right. Which is a plus. And tomorrow I weigh in for week two. Meep.

Yeah, Garnet, I second the whole rest day is ok philosophy. You'll be fine.

Echo - you seem like a natural with kiddies, that's awesome! Your day with them sounded ideal too - fruits for snacks, lots of exercising, cool! Don't worry about the weight gain, I'm in the same boat too... blergh... we'll get through this together and in no time you'll be back to 159.

I like your idea of making a plan, so here's my plan for today:

Breffix - 1 cup skim milk + 1 tbsp cocoa powder, instant oatmeal with 1/4 cup of raisins (no raisins, oatmeal was cinna-flavored, didn't sound appealing with raisins)

Snack - banana

Lunch - omelette with 2 tortillas, sprinkling of feta cheese and 4 broccoli florets

Snack - apple

Dinner - 1/4 cup chicken curry, 1/2 cup alu gobi and 1 cup cooked white rice with 1/2 cup plain NF yogurt

Snack - 1/4 cup raisins <-- ate a lot of these today. I'm in a raisin-phase.

Exercise: 3.4 mile walk today with lunges, squats and some ab work. <-- will do these once dinner has settled.

I'll bold everything in green when I have finished them.

Man, just writing all that down makes me feel confident that I can do it today, awesome! Hope everyone else has a good day too!!

Ok, woohoo to me! I finished almost everything I had planned for today (food and exercise). Yesterday I got my job application stuff done (CV, cover letter). I feel organized and top of things.

My Plan for Tuesday 27th October.

Blue means done.
Red means did not do. or went over calorie intake

brown- slightly over calorie
black bold means what i actually did

Pre-workout Breakfast: (~100 calories) 10 almonds and 1 small tangerine. 4 pumpkin seeds >>> 111 calories

workout 1:
P90x legs and back.
Ab ripper X

breakfast 2:
Bowl of fruit and fibre cereal (just under 300 calories) did not have breakfast 2, instead had a bigger lunch.

Walk to grocery store (total miles covered - 4 miles). ran out of time, got dark, gets dark at 5pm !!! so depressing. going to go tommorow.

Lunch- 400 calories. went over, cause i didnt have my 2nd breakfast.

Lunch- ~ 500 calories

half cup rice.
20g korma
2 tbs yogurt
sweet scrambled eggs with 1 tsp sugar
1 toast

workout 2:
bike - burn 300 calories (~30 minutes) - i burned 210 calories (~19 minutes)

Mini workout - Steps (burn 200 calories) - not done

Dinner - 400 calories went over, cause i was hungry- cause of the exercise today.
dinner was 1006 calories.

overall Goal today:

Eat 1200 calories i ate 1700 calories today. okay it seems like i wont be able to eat only 1200 calories and workout as much as i want to. and as jillian always says if your down to wanting to lose the last 15lbs, its best to eat your BMR calories and burn 1000 calories through exercise 5 days a week.

so i'm going to eat up to 1800 calories. and aim to burn at least 1000 calories through exercise

Burn 1167 calories-
i burned = 934 calories.

Great plans for today, Echo and Sunni!

I weighed in this morning at 273.5, meaning I'm down 1.7 from last week. Not as good of a loss as I've been having (and I know it's because of my poor choice over the weekend), but at least it's something.

And since I didn't check in yesterday evening - yesterday's confessions:

B: 1 mini cinnamon raison bagel with 1 tsp ICBINBL and 1 tsp pumpkin butter

S: 1 slice homemade pumpkin bread

L: 1 morningstar chik patty with 1 tbsp ketchup, 1 cup grapes, 10 baby carrots, 1 wedge laughing cow light cheese and 5 almonds

S: 1 small soy au lait

D: 1 cup corn, 1/2 cup black beans, 2/3 cup lime rice

S: 1 slice homemade pumpkin bread and a diet cranberry sierra mist (the only diet soda I actually like - it's hard to resist the three months of the year it's out!)

E: 40 minutes on the treadmill and free weights

Yay! I think a rest day was just what I needed. Though I am considering switching 30DS up with a different dvd tomorrow. Jillian's starting to wear on me. Did anyone else ever notice that Natalie, during the lunges, stops doing the lunge part when Jillian turns her back on Level 1? I think it's hilarious, later Jillian makes the comment that they don't even cheat. And I'm like, um, yes they do.

Anyway, down 2.4 lbs for the week. Yay. And I measured inches today and I'm down 6.5 inches from my start date. Unfortunately, I also managed to remember an old account I had on Weighttracker.info .... I remember thinking that those old inches where huge. Needless to say, my inches are higher now. Of course, my highest weight since them went up by about 15 lbs. XD

I did exercise today but, like I said, I'm beginning to want to throw things at Jillian. I don't mind the workout. I love the work out. I don't know. Just something about her gets under my skin. I think I'll get up a little bit earlier tomorrow and do one of my Firm videos with Pam. I like Pam. Pam is an amiable person. She's so optimistic. And Jillian's such a drill sergant. XD
