Echo, Congrats on your weigh in! Enjoy the movie - what do you plan to see?

My confessions for today:

B: 1/2 cup oatmeal with a drizzle of honey

S: 1 mini lara bar

L: 1 morningstar chik patty with 1 tbsp ketchup, 5 almonds, 1 laughing cow light wedge with 5 savory thin crackers, 1/2 bottle vitamin water 10

S: 1 100 calorie bag of popcorn

D: 1 faux sausage cooked in 1/2 tbsp olive oil, 2/3 cup brown rice, 1 cup broccoli with 1/2 tbsp lower sodium soy sauce

E: Just some crunches, lunges, and light weights for me today - my legs are a little sore from the 3 mile walk yesterday (in my not so comfortable flats!).

hey! that's a pound you never have to deal with again! A pound is a big deal! Especially when it takes you from the 60s to the 50s- that makes it feel like the last and most important pound out of ten. Great job and congrats on your BMI too!!!!

Echo! - Wow!!!! Way to go lady!!!! Congrats on your loss and a bmi of 25!!! that is totally awesome!!!!

Today I did not eat much because I was having a medication reaction I believe. I felt super nauseous and bloated all weekend. I am sipping on my diet soda tonight and I do feel better this evening. If this continues tomorrow I will call my doctor.

today:
coffee with a pinch of sugar
diet dr. pepper
water

1 1/2 cups of green beans
1 cup of fruit cocktail in light syrup
1 potato with a little butter and lots of garlic

water
diet dr. pepper

If I am hungry later I will have some yogurt and fruit, and possibly a tuna salad sandwich but I think I will go to bed soon and call it a night.

Hey Ladies... yesterday did not turn out as we had hoped... didn't end up having any turkey... my nephew got hit hard in the first 10 min. of his first game yesterday and had to be carried off of the ice and taken to hospital.. once we got all of his gear off and got him into xray, it was evident that the head of his humerous (top of his shoulder) was cracked and separated and he needed to be transfered by ambulance to the bigger hospital in Sydney, and an orthopedic surgeon would be meeting us in the emerg there. Once there the surgeon decided she wanted to try and get it to knit together on its own before we have to take the drastic step of surgery and pins. They pushed the shoulder up and strapped him tight and sent him for more xrays to be sure.. the surgeon was happy with how far they were able to get it pushed back up and sent us home with him with strict orders to keep the shoulder immobilized and he needs to go back every few days over the next few weeks to be sure it is fusing back together on its own, and if it doesn't then she will schedule him in for the surgery.
I am going to my parents today for the next couple of days, and I am unsure of whether or not I will have internet service there.. I am going to try lol If I do not have service I will be back Wednesday night...
I hope everyone is doing well! I will not be able to get a lot of exercise in while I am away so I am hoping I will be able to control my food intake... lol

Angela - I know this is a repeat, but I really hope your nephew makes a fast recovery. Poor guy. Must suck to be in such pain and immobilized. For me, that would make my pain more obvious. to you and your family.

Echo - Congrats on the BMI!!! That's wonderful! I'm in the 25 range as well although I have 5 more lbs to make it to 25. That would be GREAT if I could get to 150. Wow. I think I'd pass out from happiness. Fill us in on the movie when you get back!

Hydra - Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hope you feel better soon!

Today's confessions:

Breffix - 1 cup skim milk + 1 tbsp cocoa powder, instant oatmeal

Snack - 1 banana, 1 100 cal bag of popcorn

Lunch - Healthy Choice steamer meal

Snack - 2 slices multigrain bread with homemade pesto and feta cheese.

Dinner - Making chinese food (healthy). Stir fried general tso's chicken and fried rice.

What is wrong with me today? I'm getting super ravenous (I'm nowhere close to TOM, so it's not that). I was so hungry this morning before breffix that I was almost dizzy. I usually eat at 9 and by 8:45 I started feeling this way. I haven't starved myself at all, in fact just the opposite. And we all know I haven't been pushing it with the exercise. I guess it's just one of those days that makes one crave everything in sight? Just have to be strong and let it pass...

I submitted my paper this AM so it's DONE! Woohoo!! A carrot for myself, .

For lunch today I did a turkey lettuce & tomato on a whole wheat hero.

436 calories, 51g carbs, 11g fat and 34g of protein.

I skipped breakfast though. Booooo @ me.

No idea what I'm having for dinner, but I'm walking home from work so I'll be warmed up enough to just change into my workout clothes and hit the ground running when I get there.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I did speak with my doctor today and my medication was changed. It is the meds not the flu. I ate as much as I could today and drank lots of water. I feel almost back to normal.

today:
water
1/2 cup peaches in light syrup

water
coffee with creamer
3 oz FF tuna salad and crackers
apple
a few large carrots

3 oz shrimp sauteed in Pam with 1/2 cup celery, 1/2 mushrooms and 2 tsp minced garlic
a few large carrots
water

more water

Walked on my break at work and played with my granddaughter. We walked all over the backyard several times.

Just wanted to check in quickly, and say I made it to exactly 279.1 this morning, and have now lost my first ten pounds. What a great way to start the day!

I hope everyone else is having a great day as well!

Hydra - that's good to know that it was the meds. Good thing you caught it early.
Emily - Woohoo!!! Congrats on the 10 lb loss!!

As for me, I slept at 9 last night. I was unbelievably sleepy. I guess my mind was playing catch-up for last week where I slept close to midnight and woke up around 6 (no alarm, just woke up). Even though I slept for practically a day, I still feel like I could take another nap. Hope I'm not becoming the next Rip Van Winkle.

My bell pepper seedlings are taking too long to grow. The excitement from their germinating has worn off and they need to produce lots of peppers NOW. Hee. I looked up bell pepper germination and it will be another month (approx) before they grow a little more. Right now, they have two leaves even though they are getting slightly taller day by day. My basil plants are out of control. Everyday there's a new one popping up. My mom gave me the seeds for these guys and she's jealous that mine grew so quickly whereas hers took a while longer. I told her I had 8 bell pepper plants and would like to give her one and she goes "uhhh, I'll take the peppers!" Thanks mom.

Today's confession:

Breffix - 1 cup skim milk + 1 tbsp cocoa powder, instant oatmeal

Snack - 1/2 apple

Lunch - Leftover fried rice and general tso's chicken from last night (homemade)

Snack - 1 slice of homemade chocolate cake (265 cals, BIG slice)

Dinner - (homemade) hot and sour soup with mushrooms and green onions. Didn't have tofu so it was protein-less. No thawed chicken either.

I was up 0.5 lb this morning. How depressing. I'm so used to seeing the same weight or a drop that it throws me off when I see a blip up. It wasn't too long ago that I would see fluctuations everyday. It's not at the point where I'm depressed about it or go off plan. I'm glad I've learned to be zen about it and just stick to plan. It's most likely the soy sauce from the chicken and fried rice even though I used low sodium and less sauce. Whatever.

Exercise: Er didn't do nuttin'.

What's the deal? Where is everybody? I know Angela's at her parents but Echo? Yoovie? Emily? Hydra? *crickets*

Okie dokie, I'll check back in later.

So sorry to hear about your nephew Angela! how awful!! how is he doing now ?

Thanks so much Sunni!!! wow only 5lbs away, brilliant!

yah movie was good. it was shot like a documentary, which was annoying at first, but then half way through the movie, you really start to believe that such a reality exists, where aliens are refugees on the planet! and you start to empathesie with them. i wasnt sure whether i liked it, but definately made me think and left an impression, so much so, that i went to imbd, so thats always a sign that a movie has touched me in some way. but yah not your typical blockbuster movie! very different.

i just bought 3kg (~6.6lb) dumbelles! i'm so excited i've been working with 3lb dumbells, but on some of the p90x workouts, they seem too light now. they are nice bright pretty red colour hehe.

*whew* Someone's back on this thread, yay!

Those dumbbells look really cute, Echo! BTW, way to go with the paragraphs!!! That's wonderful that it got an awesome ok like that!! I'm now starting to fire up my motivation (again, as usual) to finish the minor changes on my second paper and get that to this prof and hopefully I can beg her a little to work in her lab, hehe.

I heard about District 9, saw the trailer. I thought it looked like a corny movie so I haven't been that enthused about seeing it but hearing you say that it was a thinker makes me want to see it! I always check imdb after every movie I've seen that I like. I love reading all the random trivia.

Totally unmotivated to cook lunch these days. I'm used to being alone (Mr. Sunni has the week off) and I either make ravioli for myself or some of my faves that he's not fond of AT ALL. Plus, I don't eat as much as he does so I can make do with an apple and a big bowl of grapes with 2 slices of toast even. He's like "this is NOT lunch food..." For the past two days, we've been having frozen meals for lunch, haha.

I find myself more inspired for dinner. OMG, I made a chocolate cake from scratch yesterday!!! BIG mistake. Well, no, it's a minor mistake. Anyway, I was really craving chocolate cake and I wasn't in the mood to go to the store and spend $5 bucks for two crappy slices and then throw away the icing and be left with pretty much crumbs. NC'ers must LOVE icing cause the package weighs a ton and then when you put just cake on the plate it's like nothing. Lame. So there are slices just piled on top of one another in the frig. Mr. Sunni has been really good about warning me against eating a slice every 2 hours (he needs to go to work ). Ok, I totally forgot what I was saying... OH! I'm going to make pita bread and baked falafel with yogurt sauce for dinner tonight! I'm really excited. I love homemade breads, they just taste better to me for some reason. It'll be nice to taste pita bread fresh from the oven. Will report on how it went later tonight.

Have a good day all! Hope some of you can make it through my long post. Whoops! I was feeling a little chatty today.

Today's confession:

Breffix - 1 medium banana

Snack - 1/2 slice of chocolate cake, 1 banana

Lunch - 1 cup spiced flattened rice, 1 cup hot and sour soup
Dessert - 1/2 slice of chocolate cake

Snack - 1/2 large apple

Dinner - 2 pita breads (success with the homemade dough!!), 3 baked falafels, lettuce, tomatoes, 1 tbsp homemade hummus (low fat, used 1 tbsp of olive oil in the whole batch and 1/4 cup of the liquid from the chickpea can to make it creamy)

Feeling very satisfied. Not my usual breffix but I get up and I'm ravenous lately so I just grabbed the first healthy thing I could and after I ate the banana, I didn't feel so hungry anymore.

Talk to you ladies tomorrow!
