Hi Everyone:

I hope everyone had a great start to the week.

I looked the calories up for an egg and it said 90, but the carton of eggs said 70. I wonder why the difference?

Confessions:

Breakfast: I tend to eat the same thing, especially if I like it. It makes it easier. Been doing this for years.

Spinach Omelet
spritz olive oil in pan
egg 70 cal
egg whites from carton 60 cal
Handful of spinach
2% cheese 40 cal
high fiber english muffin 100 cal
honey 60
coffee w/sugar and cream
juice 100 cal

Lunch: Leftovers from Saturday

Field Peas w/snaps 210 calories
Fresh Green Beans 60 calories
1/2 cup rice & gravy 125 calories

Dinner: We went to O'Charley's and I did really well. I did not eat any of the dinner rolls!

Grilled Chicken Breast 170 Calories
2 Orders Broccoli 280

Exercise:
~Tamilee Webb I Want Those Buns
~Jump Rope 25 Times
~Turbo Jam Cardio Party Mix
DH & I went to the bookstore at the mall and I walked the mall 2 times, so that's 2 Miles

Cape Breton Chick I don't think I have met you yet. I am sorry that you have not been well. I hope everything goes well at the doctor tomorrow and they can help.

Hi, all - sorry I've been MIA. I was out of town this weekend and then wound up in urgent care last night with ridiculous stomach pain. The doctor thinks it's my gall bladder, so I'm going back in today for an ultrasound. While a gall bladder issue is probably better than some other random ailment, I am a little scared of the increasing possibility of surgery.

On the upside, I weighed in this morning at 264, down 2.2 pounds from last week. And at officially two months in (or at least two months of weighing in), I have lost 25 pounds! Too bad it wasn't soon enough to fix the gallbladder!

well here are my confessions for yesterday.

I didn't eat anything for dessert AND I didn't die!!!!

still can't believe that one. Finished the day off at 1200 cs.

another proud accomplishment. I cut the mini pizza (dinner) in half instead of eating the whole thing. I added a salad and soup..and I was satisfied.

I didn't take 2 30 min walks, I missed my morning walk, so instead we got the wii out. My son and I conquered some of the short distance runs and then we started on the island run, we unlocked free run, and I unlocked boxing.

The scale is back up to 176.0 but I can feel my muscles swollen with water weight.

Confessions for today: I designed an ingenous home workout thing, complete with a rebounder, perfect ab straps, and perfect pull up bar. I danced (focused on abs and arm and leg stretches) for a few minutes, did half pull ups (the rebounder helps) and then did some more upper arm work with the bar. I call it my "gym".

I FEEL like I can stick to 1200 cs today.

Hi I hope everyone had a great day!

Jendiet Did you previously say that you drink hot chocolate? Is one brand any better than another. I love chocolate and was curious about this if I get a craving. I would like to get something to keep in the house for when the urge hits me.

Cape Breton Chick I hope everything went well with your Dr appointment today.

emilydreaming Do you have a history of gallbladder problems? I know people that have had a history of attacks and the agonizing pain, and it's a total relief when they get that thing out of them. I wish you well.

Confessions

Breakfast
Spinach Omelet
spritz olive oil in pan
egg 70 cal
egg whites from carton 60 cal
Handful of spinach
2% cheese 40 cal
high fiber english muffin 100 cal
honey 60
coffee w/sugar and cream
juice 100 cal

Lunch
Sandwich - I used my new bread and it was satisifying
2 Slices of bread 90 Calories
thinnest swipe of mayo I could do
4 Slices Hormel Naturals Ham 60 Calories
1 Slice 2% Cheese 60 Calories
As much Romain lettuce as I could put on the sandwich (My goal for the week will be to use up the entire package of lettuce, so the volume will keep me full. I had been using about 1/2 package)
Cape Cod 40% less fat chips 100 Cal

Dinner Outback Steakhouse -I shared some foods with my Mom so I have a weird combination here. Outback has a great new interactive nutritonal guide on their website. I suppose it's accurate. I don't know for sure though.
1/6 of a loaf of bread with thin swipe of butter 40 cal
2 coconut shrimp w/sauce 174 calories
1/4 salad w/Ranch 80 calories
Seared Ahi Tuna Appetizer 165 calories

Diana, yes I drink hot chocolate. 100 cs a pack. The hot chocolate does two things for me, adds water intake and makes me feel full (largest volume for the cs)and soothes my chocolate craving. I love Nestle's. They have caramel chocolate, dark chocolate, mint chocolate. I don't do artificial sweeteners, but they have some. I read labels, and if I see alot of wierd stuff, I get something else.

A confession for today. I drank my breakfast shake, but then waited too long to eat again, I didn't have another meal until I got home at 4pm. STARVING. I made a whole wheat wrap up sandwhich, with a 100 cs bag of funyons (thinking subway--chips and sandwhich) My son grabbed some potato chips which tempted me, but i Think I was craving salt because of my workout.

I went to my son's production. They handed out cookies for refreshments, I was scolding my son for throwing a fit after the show, didn't want their cookies...but came home and wanted to devour the bucket of our cookies. I had 2 30 cs. coconut cookies, and 1 iced oatmeal.

Another confession. I drank a cup of hot cocoa after dinner, but I have 100 cs left in the bank---going to have another cup of hot cocoa and call it a night.

One more. I think I made deer meat a chinese food??? lol...only I could do that. We cooked some deer loin on the grill the other day. I had a small piece of it left, which I cut up and put in a pan with a little olive oil. I planned on cooking bok choy with garlic and olive oil for our veggie. But then. I thought this meat could use something. Then I promptly added teryaki and sesame seeds to the meat. We had teryaki deer meat, bok choy, and jasmine rice for dinner (white rice--but God I love Jasmine rice!)

hi girls!

jendiet - nice going with the food invention! Sounds really yummy.

Angela - hope everything goes well with the doc.

Echo - you still there? Whatcha been up to?

Me, I'm getting busier everyday even though I don't work, haha. I have to apply for jobs, find a doc (need a prescrip), and finish up another paper. Weight-wise, I'm again bouncing around in the 154s. That's alright though, I know the culprit. I ate a LOT of naan yesterday. I had leftover dough from the previous night as well as some prepared naans that didn't get eaten. I ate all of them and 2 fresh ones (4 in total). Yikes! I tried to fix it by taking a long walk yesterday. I finished in at 4.6 miles and I jogged for about 2-3 minutes maybe? so I feel slightly sore in my thighs. Weird thing is I was sore in my right butt cheek yesterday while walking. How does THAT happen? Anyway, who cares, that just means muscle is developing in that area, woohoo! I'm hoping some of the weight gain (154.9) I saw this morning is water weight from carbs and muscle repair.

Today's goal is to eat clean and exercise.

Planned food:

Breffix - 1 cup skim milk + 1 tbsp cocoa powder, instant oatmeal

Snack - 1 banana

Lunch - omelette (1 whole egg + 1 egg white, green onions, mushrooms, garlic, some broccoli if I have it) in 2 small tortillas

Snack - 1 apple

Dinner - 1 cup cooked white rice, 1/2 cup plain NF yogurt, roasted bell peppers and potatoes and chickpea curry

Exercise - 4.X mile walk.

Sounds like a good plan, here's to me sticking to it!!

Have a good day all!!

So guess what? My paper was rejected. Well, they asked for experimental revisions and I can't do any of the experiments they wanted so in my mind it's a reject. Sigh. Means I'm back to the drawing board. I was ready to cry this morning, but surprisingly not in the mood to stuff my face. In the past, I would eat when depressed, no idea why because it didn't taste so delicious that I would forget why I was depressed, haha.
aww i'm so sorry about the paper, i know how hard you worked on it. that really sucks

the difference in calories is due to the different size of the eggs. small, medium large eggs, all have different calorie contents. so the one on the internet might be for large eggs, and you might have a carton of small or medium sized eggs. i would go with what the carton said

hehe thanks for asking about me Sunni! i got my period yesterday, so been taking it easy with a hot water bottle. and taking it easy today aswell. although i've planned to do light walking around the house, to up my calorie burns.

my brother has printed my thesis for me! he's coming tommorow to give it to me, and on friday i will go to the binding shop to get it bound.

i was thinking of treating myself to a cinema trip, and my cousin said i should use it as motivation to lose 1lb this week from monday. so i'm gonna use my digital scale to track my 1lb loss, as the manual scale, i cant really tell unless its a good 2.2lb loss.

but my digital scale, weighs me 2lbs lighter! but i started the biggest loser challenge with the manual scale, so i cant change back to the digital scale. but will just use the digital scale for my own little mini rewards hehe.

and yes i'm so neurotic and OCD that i weigh myself on the manual scale AND the digital scale every morning. haha. i even checked both scales with my free hand weights. and both gave the same results. so its weird why when i step on them, it gives different results. i read that its sometimes affected by where exactly your standing and how your standing!

anyways. so here i am declaring my mini goal.to be at 157lbs or less (on my digital scale) on friday morning and reward is the movie 2012 at the cinema

so at the start of the week on the digital scale - i weighed at 158lbs
and today i'm at 156.6lbs
so i gotta maintain it for friday! or lose , but not gain above 157lbs

just for fun, i want to get down to 156lbs by friday, so thats only 0.6lbs to go! which works out to be a goal loss of 0.3lbs today and tomorrow. which mathematically converts to 1050 calorie deficient today and tommorow.

i can get a maximum of 472 calorie deficient from food. (going to eat 1200 calories today and tommorow) so that means i need to burn 578 calories through light walking on both days..

Diana and Echo, thanks for your thoughts! I had the ultrasound yesterday afternoon and will find out for sure what's going on later today. I am pretty sure it's gallstones, as I've had the sort of "attacks" that are described for the last few weeks and had something similar a few years back, but it will be nice to know for sure and then figure out what I need to do.

Yesterday's confessions:

I couldn't eat until 5 pm thanks to the ultrasound, so...

D: 2 cups steamed veggies, 1 cup steamed tofu, 1.5 cups white rice

S: 1 weight watchers cookies and cream ice cream bar

E: 10 minutes stationary bike, 30 minutes treadmill

Way to go on the loss!!! You're a losing machine!! I just got back to watching portions and food (eating more veggies and fruits) and the weight is starting to drop for me too although it is a bit slow.

I'm over the paper "rejection". I don't really care anymore. I'm just going to keep submitting it to journal after journal and see which one has nice reviewers. I know there is a major flaw with my project, which most neuroscientists won't be able to look past. That's something I can't control because my PI designed the project. I just did as many tests as I could to show what I had to show. By the time I figured out it was a bad experimental setup, it was too late into my thesis to go back and change everything, so here I am.

I'm about to head out for my walk today. Thought I'd drop by and confess what I've eaten today and my planned confession for tonight.

Breffix - toasted semolina (couscous-like grain) with peas and carrots. 1 cup skim milk + 1 tbsp cocoa powder

Snack - 2 cashew squares

Lunch - omelette + 2 tortillas as above
Dessert - 1 slice key lime pie that I made. YUM. Haven't eaten it in years! No whipped cream, just the pie.

Dinner - 1 cup cooked white rice, 1/2 cup chickpea curry, 1/2 cup roasted potatoes and bell peppers (more peppers than potatoes), 1/2 cup plain NF yogurt

Dessert - 1 banana, OMG I just realized I had no fruit today! Ah!!!

Exercise - planned 2-3 mile jog/walk. Don't know how long since I'm cutting my usual walk. My right bum cheek is still sore and I don't want to push it too hard. I would hate to be house-ridden until I heal.

Alright chicas. Will update later on tonight!

Ok here goes!

B: My pillow. I slept through breakfast today and woke up at 11:30. So niiiice.
L: An oriental salad with tabouli, various peppers, lettuce, vinaigrette, and two beef meatballs. A yogurt cup with apple stuff mixed in. Water
S: A banana. Quite a few peanuts, probably more than I should have eaten. A little bit of leftover potato salad.
D: Baked eggplant with beef and bread crumbs, baked zucchini, .25 cup pasta, 1 piece of bread, a wedge of brie, and chestnut cream stuff for dessert. No idea, my host mother made it.

oops forgot exercise. I pretended to be Lady Gaga in my room for about 30 minutes. I put on her music and danced around stupidly. I think that counts.

omg, sunni, so sorry about the paper! I would be in T-E-A-R-S! You sound like such a smarty too.

Echo, yes I did learn about the Nasa use of rebounders before I bought mine. I do like it. I feel such burn in my thighs when I do 1/2 squats while on it. Plus..I like the way it moves lymph.

well, my beautiful friend treated me to some international food. I am a sucker for exotic foods. I ate stuff I wasn't sure what was in it. Although I did request "no pork". I think with the 2 1/4 cup servings of pancit dish. And the 1/2 cup serving of cabbage cup (rice and meat dish), plus the chicken wing, and the flautas, and mini egg roll--I also had 1 phillipino coconut macaroon, and a 1 inch square of kasava cake--think that was about 800 cs. The servings were fairly small.

It was so good though!

It is unrealistic to try to stay at 1200 today. So I am shooting for 1400 cs.

Jendiet, i totally agree, i like how jumping on the rebounder is good for the lymphatic system!
wow that sounds like a lovely dinner! yummy!!

--

Thanks Sunni! i also am losing weight very slowly and keep going up and down the same couple of pounds! but going to be more strict and no more out of control binge days

Sunni, thats a good tactic to keep trying. so in a nutshell what was your thesis about ?

Emily - i hope all goes well with the results of the ultrasound.

Peachy, lol at putting pillow under your breakfast. and thats great you burning calories through doing something fun !

--

today i was determined to have a low calorie day. so i stocked up on green veggies to fill me up. i came at 1273 calories today. i'm trying jillian michales cycling calories from day to day, high to low, that way i keep my body guessing.

i also did light exercise. but near the end i got cramps so had to stop, but still managed to get a decent enough calorie burn, even though it took 3 times as long to get the calorie burn, cause i could only do light exercise without too much strain on the abs cause of TOM. mainly it was light walking, and stepping up on my step, and walking up and down the stairs for abit. and some bicep curls.

tommorow i will just do light walking.

tommorow i'm gonna have a high calorie day my brother is coming for lunch and i suggested to my mom if we can have plain parathas with yellow daal and mince lamb curry. yum yum my favourite hehe. but will try to not go completely nuts and stay within 1800 calories.

Hi Everyone, we're headed towards the weekend!

Tomorrow is DH and my anniversary. We will be married 21 years. We plan on going to one of the Japanese steakhouses. That's where we went on our first date. I know it will be a higher calorie day for me. Hopefully I won't go too crazy. Also, I don't think I will be able to get a workout in because we will be leaving work early to go to our dinner. I will still try to find time to workout.

Jendiet I also read labels and try to avoid certain things, high frutose corn syrup & propylene glycol are a couple things I avoid. I can't afford to buy everything organic, but there are a few things that I buy organic.

Confessions

egg whites from carton 60 cal
Handful of spinach
2% cheese 40 cal

thinnest swipe of mayo I could do
4 Slices Hormel Naturals Ham 60 Calories
1 Slice 2% Cheese 60 Calories
