Hey all!

Ang - great job on the gym and interval training! I tried that way back when I used to actually go to a gym, haha. It was effective! Then I got lazy and gave it up.

Echo - If you don't mind generic calorie values for your foods, you can try calorieking.com. I use them for all the foods I want the calorie counts for.

As for my confessions...

Breffix - 1 cup skim milk + 1 tbsp cocoa powder, instant oatmeal

Snack - 1 slice chocolate cake, 1 bag 100 cal popcorn

Lunch - leftover tofu and veggies + singapore noodles

Snack - 1 slice chocolate cake

Dinner - chicken and veggie kebabs (hey hey hey) with 1 cup of white rice.

No idea about the total cals, was too scared to tally up the numbers.

Exercise: Danced to my iPod for 30 minutes. Cleaned the whole apartment (I actually started sweating toward the end and it was COLD today).

I went back to down to 156 this morning, woohoo!! I'm hoping to see 155 and continued droppage.

I also really want a pet. I've always wanted one, but I really got a hankering tonight when we saw a movie and it had a cute lil' kitteh in it. I'm angling toward a kitteh because they can deal with less attention, but Mr. Sunni keeps putting up roadblocks. He sucks.

coffee with creamer

diet dr. pepper
1 cup veggie lasagna
salad with 1 oz cheese and 1 tbsp ranch

chicken and rice soup
3 oz FF tuna salad with gluten free crackers
salad with reduced fat ceasar

Morning Ladies!! Welcome back Hydra..I had noticed I wasn't seeing you as much.. I am sorry to hear everyone is sick.. I hope you don't catch it too...!
Sunni..way to go on posting your food intake anyways.. lol I have a hard time mustering up to that once I give up on tracking the calories as I know how much I have gone over.. I need to work on that! and woohooo on 156! Your rawkin' it chicky! and Yes a kitten is a great choice... I have 2 cats Gats and Gracie, they are brother and sister from the same litter and life would just not be the same without them and yea they are much easier and much more self sufficent then a dog, although i love dogs too, I am just more of a cat person and given my lifestyle, I do not have the time for the amount of attention a dog needs at the beginning.. I am gone for 8 hours a day..so yea I am rootin' for the kitten.. lol i love my babies.. lol
Echo, the Sweet Chilli Thai Sauce I have is 30 calories per tbsp.

Yea the gym was great i am going to go over today and offically join by handing over my first months cheque lol... it is not too bad its like 45 a month taxes included... I have not joined a gym in a long long time.. does this sound reasonable to everyone?

$45 a month is not bad, basically $1.5 a day to use all the equipment and take classes (don't know if your gym offers classes like yoga on the side). I think it's a good deal!

So I gained the same lb this morning. I have no idea what's going on with me. Usually, I am able to show some weight loss and now it's stalling. Oh no, please don't tell me I'm plateauing?? I still have 10 lbs to go to get to MY lowest weight, forget the 20 I have to get to ideal weight. Argh! I need to hit the workouts harder. I'm trying not to half-starve myself and workout like crazy because I won't be able to maintain it. Sigh. I'm confuse-ed.

We're going to Petsmart this afternoon to look at kittehs!! I hope one of them likes us enough to take home.

Haven't eaten today, but will fill you guys in on my confession later! Have a good day all!

Hey Sunni, great to hear from you!

sorry if you've already answered this question, but what type of chocolate cake did you make ? i love chocolate cake but have never made it myself. what recipe did you use? and has it got chocolate frosting?
but perhaps its abit dangerous for me to make it, cause i will end up eating it lol like ive been eating my home made chocolate chip cookies now and then.

thanks for the calorieking website! thats great will check it out

way to go on the dancing ! im sure you burned a bunch of calories.

lol at you wanting a pet. aww kittens are so so cute! hope you manage to convince your hubby.
----

hey Hydra, great to hear from you. sorry to hear your family has been unwell, thats great that you have managed to stay healthy!
mmm veggie lasagne, sounds yummy!

--

Thanks Angela for the info about the chili sauce, thats great now i can estimate it when i use it in my sandwhiches hehe.

thats so cool you gonna officially join the gym Angela! yah $45 sounds reasonable. i used to be a member of a gym years and years ago i used to pay £60 and then reduced it to £45, off peak. if its a nice gym, they charge more.

hey Sunni, sorry to hear you regained the lb, but look at your weight loss from exactly a week ago, and see if you have lost anything?

usually when you hit a plateua, and dont shoot me for saying this, but its been drummed in me by jillian, but its cause your calorie intake is more than you realise. and that you havent really hit the plautea.

the pounds will melt off! will just take longer. and also when its the last 10lbs it will be slower, so aim for like 0.5lb to 1lb loss a week..

besides you've lost 14.7lbs so far, thats totally awesome!!!!! you've lost a stone - in british weights haha. way to go!

yes dont starve yourself, your body needs energy.

what is your BMR? and how many calories do you eat in a day ? and how many calories do you think you burn through exercise?

what would be your ideal day with regards to calorie intake and exercise. that way we can figure out whats going on. sorry hope you dont mind me butting in!

aww have fun looking for a kitten! thats so sweet and so fast! wow Mr sunni got convinced quickly. bless

Hi - new here and trying to stay honest by posting.

I started counting calories on 10/5 and am down 3 lbs. I know it's water but I'll take it!

My big NSV yesterday was going out to dinner and not eating just because I was at a restaurant. I really wasn't that hungry. I had a garden salad and a glass of wine. My stepdaughter got mozzarella sticks and I took one but after one bite cut it in half and put the rest back - it wasn't good enough to waste the calories on.

Sticking to 1200 calories/day but allowing myself one meal a week off plan.

Heading to the gym for some cardio and an hour sculpting class.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

my confession, i think i over ate today. okay i KNOW i overate my calories i had mince lamb curry which is another kryptonite of mine!

total calories eaten today = 2074 - went over by 300ish calories.

calories burned - 665 (i did 1 hour of p90x shoulders and arms and ab ripper x about 16 minutes , but i was abit flakey on some of the crunches hahaha as my abs still feel sore from doing it early this week!)

so calorie deficient today is low = about 0.11lb loss. i just HOPE i havent gained for tommorows weigh in. today it showed i had lost 1 lb from last week. *fingers crossed*

It's deadly. There's one last slice sitting in my frig and I'm really glad it will be over and done with tomorrow. While I'm proud of myself it lasted a week, I'm really upset that I managed to eat some everyday and didn't have the willpower to resist and eat an apple like I had planned to.

Recipe:

2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp salt
2 large eggs
3/4 cup hershey's cocoa
2 tsp baking soda
1 cup veg oil
1.5 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water

1. Preheat oven to 300F. Grease a 9 X 13 dish.
2. If you have a mixer, dump everything in there and mix at medium until well mixed and smooth.
3. Pour into baking dish.
4. Bake for an hour or until tester poked in center of cake comes out clean.

That's the recipe as it is. I modified mine. Instead of buttermilk, I used 1 cup skim milk and 1/2 cup boiling water. I only put in 3/4 cup oil, with 1.25 cup of sugar. I have a cocoa mix powder that I use with my milk in the morning that's cocoa mixed with sugar, so I cut down the sugar to make up for that. It came out excellent! A little too excellent.

You're right. I am eating far more than I am burning. I'm super scared that I'm going to see 158 tomorrow morning. I fought it really hard the last time I was at 158 and I feel myself slipping again. I don't know if it's the cold weather or my complacence. I've reduced my exercise to nil and I've maintained my eating, which was satisfactory/filling when I exercised but it's becoming overload since I don't. That's my next goal, get control over my exercise again!

Thanks for bringing me back to reality, Echo. I was ready to blame it on a "plateau" but I always knew it was because I was eating too much. I'd never get upset with you for giving me your opinion. You do it in such a pleasant way, it's hard to think of you being mean-spirited about it.

So tomorrow's goal: Exercise!! For at least 30 minutes like I used to.

Today's confessions:

Breffix - 1 cup skim milk + 1 tbsp cocoa powder (125 cals), toasted semolina pancake (300 cals) This FILLED ME UP. I wasn't hungry until 2:40 pm and I ate at 8!

Lunch - Healthy Choice Steamer (chicken, potatoes, beans and carrots with some crappy sauce, 230 cals), handful of terra chips (150 cals), 1/2 slice of chocolate cake (150 cals)

Dinner - 1.5 cup chilli garlic noodles (stole it from Angela I think , 400 cals guesstimate), 1/2 cup sheera (um...330 cals?)

Total for today: 1685, but I'll round it to 1750 since I don't know how many cals were in my dinner. My BMR according to fitday is 1758 so I broke even today.

Exercise: Walked around while grocery shopping today. That comes out to 1 mile (measured it before) and then I walked some more when we dropped in DSW (shoes!! *Squee*) after visiting the kitteh.

We're not getting a cat, unfortch. It's just not something we can do right now. Peppermint Patty (called P. Patty for short, *snort*) was SUCH a sweetie. SIGH. Maybe things will change in a little while. We'll see. I spent 15 minutes just petting her. Boo.

Hi. Kinda new at this.

Just finished my workout. I knew it was gonna throw me for a loop and it did. All these crazy step patterns that I couldn't completely follow. I tried, though. Didn't fall over at all. Which is always a plus. And then came the leg presses. And crunches. Ow. By the end of the crunches, my abs were crying.

This is P. Patty. She's super cute. I was thinking that if this whole volunteering in a lab thing doesn't work out (nobody's looking or interested) then I'll go work/volunteer at an animal shelter while looking for postdocs. That way I get to be around cats/dogs without working out all the logistics... This is all up in the air still.

So I feel kinda mopey (guilty?) about my overeating and lack of exercise. I was just having thoughts today about throwing in the towel and maintaining this weight forever since I don't have a problem with the diet aspect. But danggit, I just HATE quitting! So, I've made a plan for tomorrow to go for a walk. Just a 30 minute walk, no jogging no running no speedwalking. Just a walk. I have to cajole myself into working out and then once I'm doing it, not a problem to push myself.

Hi garnetrising! That's a pretty username. I love the garnet stone mostly because I love any shade of red.
