LOL Moonchild, sometimes it takes forever to write doesn't it.
What I've decided to do with the gym is to just go along and pay for the classes each week for a month and then see how much I'm spending, that way I'll know which is the cheapest way to do it. There's a dance exercise class that looks really good, and its supposed to improve your co-ordination (which I need). I want to do boxfit too.
I have been exercising at home on the exercise bike, and for a while I've been running, but I found the running messed up my knees (a problem I had since I was a teenager), I just find the bike bores me after a while.
Now I'm hungry, I'm glaring at the biscuits in the office and am considering a yogurt.
Wow Helen, thats a great picture, you look great!!!!!
I'm having problems with my knees as well, thats why I like boxercise, its only a short while with high impact on knees during the warmup. One of the reasons I don't like classes in the gym, they are usually high impact....
Hope you had the yoghurt instead of the bisquits!!!! I;m just having a Veggie soup with some pasta and a wholemeal pita.....very tasty...i love the taste of toasted pita......not sure what to make for dinner tonight, might try to make some hashbrowns after the meeting......otherwise it will be beans on toast lol.....
Yup, I had the yogurt, hehe good me, and then for lunch I had wholemeal bread and poached eggs, and now I want a pudding but all there is are icky brown bananas and they are disgusting, so I'll just fill up on green tea (oh how I love that stuff)
Thanks for the compliment on the piccy, I had to fight my friend so much to get her to have her piccy taken.
I'm just having a Lemon Cheescake Muller Light as dessert, that usually does the trick and gets my sugar fix satisfied.....green tea? yikes, I hate that stuff...it's just sooo bitter...
I'll get my pics uploaded soon, then I'll post them as well....always nice to put a face to the name lol.....
MMM the lemon cheesecake one is tasty so is the sticky toffee pudding. I've started buying the smaller muller fruit light, and then I have one in the morning and one in the afternoon. MMMM. Muller is a bit expensive though, I think I'll have to check if the Morrissons equivalent is free too, as its much cheaper.
Right I'm still on the wagon, not fallen off just yet. Went to visit one of my clients this afternoon who put suger in my coffee, yuck. Oh yes, I love green tea, I ether have the decaf one or there's a nice lemon one you can get, I guess its like Marmite, you either love it or you hate it lol.
Gammon for dinner tonight, with eggs, and veg, I think I'll have those big breakfast mushrooms with it instead of potato, so tasty, and filling too mmmm.
I have really been hearing a lot about this Muller light... I must go try some. The sticky toffee kind sound very tempting. I usually spend (waste? I don't think so) a syn and a half on a piece of American dark chocolate I know whatg you're thinking ladies... and yes the chocolate is better over here! But it reminds me of home and I like it, and it's better than polishing off 3 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups! (My favorite choc.)
I used to run a fair bit when I was younger but now I am afraid I will hurt myself at this weight. I think I *would* like to get back into it when I've lost a bit of weight but... still debating it.
OK enough chit chat I have to train newbie teachers! See ya later!
I'm feeling pretty proud of myself today, last night I overcame my fears and went to a BTL class (bums, tums and legs). It was lots of fun, and although I wasn't the most graceful of people I had a good time. Bit achy today though lol. My neighbour wants to come to exercise classes with me, so that should happen from next week.
Council is out today to get the mouse, we can still hear it under the floorboards in the bedroom, but its not been inside the house again, and yesterday my neighbour saw it in her house. Hopefully it'll be gone soon.
So, what are everyones plans for the weekend? I think we're having a quiet one, may have some friends over tomorrow night. Staying away from the alcohol lol. Might do a box-fit class tonight, but I'm not sure because of the council, and its at 5:30pm which isn't a great time for me.
Might head over the Stratford for the day tomorrow, its only 30 mins away, its always nice to feed the ducks and walk by the river.
Helen that is awesome that you went to the BTL class! And I'm glad to hear you had fun doing it! I find I really enjoy getting up and moving once I finall do it LOL!
I am excited for tonight because I am going to see Prince at the 02 Dome (that's the Millennium Dome these days) with some friends. I have to work tomorrow, which kind of stinks but I will be making a little bit of extra cash for it so it could be worse LOL. A friend from L.A. will be in town tomorrow night so we will be out and about... hopefully I will quasi behave!
I had a little victory today, I am wearing a whole outfit of clothes and they're all size 16 I haven't been a 16 since I met my hubby back in 2001 We went into town this mornig and I got some 16 jeans and some new bras, (I got a 16 top a couple of weeks ago), my bra had gone from a 42 to a 36 lol, result!!!!
The mouse man came, but because I'd blocked up the holes he wouldn't put poison down in ou house, fortunatly my neighbour had seen it the day before and he put poison under her floorboards where they'd got gaps. Now just to wait for the poor thing to die. Yes I hate having a mouse, but I still don't like the idea of killing it off.
Hope you're all having a great weekend, Moonchild, you got the internet installed yet? Mel, I hope the concert was fun.
Morning girls,
sorry, been off for three days and as you've probably guessed, I have no internet installed yet. Sky guy was there friday to install Sky, but he told me that the stuff for broadband would be sent by mail....very odd....but oh well, I guess another couple of days wont kill me.
Anyway, lets catch up....Helen, I hope for you that you've seen the last of that mouse, it would be such a relief. I've seen a commercial yesterday for that pestguard on TV. It's by JML and you can get it at Woolworths. Might be an idea to invest 20£ in that to keep them off......and good for you for the clothes. It's always fab to find clothes that didn't fit in ages and now fit again...yay!!! And if you have someone to come to the classes with you, that might motivate you even more!
Mel, how was the concert? Hope you enjoyed yourself! Did you behave yourself?????
Well as for me, not such a great weekend. Thursday WI was dissappointing as i stayed the same. So in my frustration I had a McD's on Friday. And from then it only went downhill....had some Greggs for lunch on Saturday (Macaroni pie and cheese and onion pie) and then a Chinky for Dinner....to top it all up, we had some Cider while watching a movie Saturday night. You cannot imagine how bad I felt afterwards, bloated like nothing else, and going to the toilet wasn't a lot of fun either......yikes......
Anyway, got my act together again yesterday, told my other half that I do have to get back on track, and no more cheating. Going to work hard and get this weight off.....Don't think the WI this week is going to be great either, but well, I'm back on the wagon now.
Oh on the lighter side, went to a jobinterview on Friday.......really like the company, and the best thing about it: Its not a callcenter!!!! So keep my fingers crossed.......
Sorry about your weigh in Moonchild, remember maintaining is good too, but I'm glad your back on the wagon, my latest blog entry was about getting back on the wagon lol, and I've been very good (for the most part) since. I had a couple of slip ups over the weekend, Friday was alcohol, and I didn't really want it, I just drank it because my hubby was, at least it was only a couple of shots. Yesterday we went to see the latest Bourne movie at the cinema (very good film), and while I was buying the tickets Chris wandered off and bought me some ice cream, and it was my all time favorite, I loved every mouthful though I have to say. The wagon is now well and truly under my bottom again hehe.
The mouse is gone!!!! On Thursday my neighbour told me that she'd seen it in her bathroom, then on Friday the pest control came out, but because I had blocked up all the holes in our house they couldn't do anything, he then went next door and laid poison under their floorboards. I was getting a bit icky about thinking I might find it dead, but then on Sunday morning my neighbour came round to tell me her husband had seen the mouse on Saturday night and had thrown his slipper at it, which killed it.
Sorry I've been MIA all weekend - had the concert, then worked all day Saturday and then just kind of chilled out on Sunday (once I finally woke up as I allowed myself an extra long lie-in LOL!)
Moonchild sorry you had such a rough weekend. It happens sometimes. I think you are doing the best thing that you can do - dust yourself off and get back on program. I know our gut feeling when we do something like that is to beat ourselves up but it's really not that productive. I read in some forum around here that successful dieters when they have 'slip-up' just acknowledge it and move on. You can do it!
Helen how AWESOME about the size 16s! Hmm size 16 that is a size 14 US (Oh how I love going home to shop LOL!) I don't think I've seen that size myself since I think 1998? 99? Looking forward to going back there though!
Actually in my mind one of my major goals is to actually fit into something (comfortably, mind - not 'barely squeeze into!') from Primark or Top Shop, and to be able to shop ALL of New Look and H&M, not just their dinky little women's sections! At the moment I am a size 22 and I'm pretty much relegated to the dinky sections or Evans. My goal is to be shopping 'the regular stores' by the beginning of November. I think it's doable.
Oh - the weekend! Prince concert was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Met my friends beforehand at the 02 dome. We went to this "American style" restaurant. One of my friends who went to the concert with me is Canadian and she and I were laughing that this restaurant was like the worst type of restaurant that you would find on the wrong side of town in Nowheresville U.S.A. But it was the cheapest and that's why we went there LOL! And actually the food was very nice. I had a small steak and a baked potato and was very pleased with myself for sticking to the plan. We did have a few glasses of wine but I counted them - and I danced so much at the concert that I am sure I burned most of that off. If that wasn't enough I missed my last train back home and had a 20-minute walk from where the bus dropped me off!
Saturday I did booze it up though... don't feel TOO bad about that except for the fact that it was beer which I know I should stay away from. I did count it up and we will see how we go on Wednesday.
Foodwise though I have been just fine and have firmly stuck to the program. I haven't really wanted to 'cheat' because I keep building little 'cheats' into my week and that is satisfying me.
I am really finding if I say some food is totally off limits I only end up craving and then binging on that food. Like beer - I LOVE beer - but I have told myself I can't have it. So why do you think I had about five of them saturday? I think I'll try having one beer and then switching over to something else. It's working for me with cheese! (My all time favorite food!) In fact I was thinking yesterday that one of the great things about the Slimming World plan is that I don't have to give up cheese! LOL!
Right better actually do some work! Talk to you later!
Oh I love clothes shopping, that was one thing I missed as a size 22 because it was all Evans, and I got sick of the styles. I eventually found our local market stocked fashionable clothes for larger sizes and that was great. I'm very pleased with the size 16 thing, I remember when I got down to an 18 and I could shop in the smaller clothes in New Look I started crying in the shop because I was so happy.
