Pirategirl, good for you....I sometimes dread going on these scales, but occasionally you're in for a pleasant surprise....go for it!!!!

Helen, enjoy your holiday (you are probably at the airport already)...

FF, well done on the loss, steadily steadily we all are dropping the weight....ist great.

Since I've joined this forum I'm so much more motivated, it's great to speak to people you can relate to, it's like having a SW meeting daily lol. I'm positive we all will achieve our goals here....specially the first big one coming up in 14 weeks ...my team leader drew a for all of us with 14 partitions in it, so every week, for every pound you lost, it will get coloured...I know its a bit tacky, but a cool idea....going to make one for myself at home and put it on the fridge

Hi Moonchild,
It's really strange - I remember typing the goals in and wondering if I'd ever manage to do even one of them. But here I am working towards number 4. It was a great moment when the amount I had lost was more than the amount I had to lose Of course I had smaller goals when I started - I didn't expect to lose even 50% of my excess weight - but as I got closer to that I decided I'd give myself something to work towards.

You're doing well too - is your mini goal just a number to work towards ( like mine) or do you have an event to aim for or a particular dress/outfit you'd like to get into? Originally I just wanted to look nice in my wedding dress and photos - but that was in May and amazingly I'm still on the diet (not 100% tho') and still losing weight (but much more slowly). Next weeks weigh in will be fun - the night before I've arranged to go out for a curry with an old friend I haven't seen for ages and she couldn't manage any other night! Hmmm I'll have to try to be super good this week - not likely!

Hope you have a good day at work, love ff x

Hi all

Well I'm even starting to annoy myself - why can't I stop picking at every advert interval each evening??

I'm brilliant all day - I'm at work - I pick the kids up at 6, get home and make their tea and mine - still on plan - no probs but the minute those kids are in bed I'm doing 20 stand ups - thats stand up and walk to the fridge/cupboard....insert your own word for anything that contains food!!!

And then I munch on anything ..its like I'm in a trance GET A GRIP WOMAN!!!!

Right rant over - maintained this week so at least not going wrong way but I just looked at my weigh in book and in the last 2 months I've actually only lost 3llbs with all the maintains and put ons .... pathetic really.

So kids back at brownies I'm staying to class instead of running out and I'm going to put an alarm on the kitchen lol...not really!

Are any of you evening pickers - any tips??

Morning Ladies,
I think it's good do do it in little steps....if you look at all the weight you have to loose in one go u just give up hope....I have a total of 6 or 7 stone to loose, and looking at that is just depressing. But tackeling it 1st at a time it's much much more managable....I don't really have an event to work towards to, but I want to go back home next year to our annual street fest and look fabulous....it's somewhere in June I think, so that should give me enough time....

FF, I have the same problem. When I get home I'm usually by myself for an hour or so, and the temptation is just too much sometimes. I try to snack on chocolate snackajacks then, they are 2 1/2 syns for the big one. Once my other half is home I'm ok, because he watches what I eat and that helps me out a lot. Maybe ask yor other half to do the same? Another tip is to have nice low syn snacks about, like syn free crisps, SW Ferrero Rochers, Asda Cheesy Curls (3 1/2 syns) etc.....

Hi

I have just found this site and it looks like fun!

I have just started SW with my 2 kids. One of my friends already goes and has lost a lot of weight already.

I have a long way to go but I know I can do it as lost 6.5 stone before...Just have to do it again!

I suffer with depression and have had a lot of events in my life that have contributed to me non-stop eating.

Id love to swop ideas for free meals and snacks as Im at home alot and need to stop picking at bad things and replace them with nice free things.

I mostly follow the green days as its easy for me and my family to eat and just syn out the extras like meat etc

I live in Brighton and have also tried getting a group together of people with more than 3 stone together for exercise and fun activities...

Any one local to me? or have any great free food ideas?

Kim

Ps how do I get a ticker thingy at the bottom?

Hi Bubbly ..I'm an evening picker too I agree with what Moonchild wrote..I keep plenty of syn free nibbles in the fridge/cupboard for snack-attacks e.g. raw carrots, cold cooked quorn sausages, sugar free freeze pops, muller light yoghurt, fresh fruit, etc, and if i havn't had a B choice .. a Hi-Fi Bar.

Moonchild, i had about 7 st to lose in Jan this year.. i am now just on 2 st from target!!!

Welcome Kim

Good luck to all, love ff x

Morning all,

Urghhh, I gained 2lb!!! I'm well annoyed with myself....but oh well, I had it coming after stuffing my face last weekend. But the important thing is that I'm back on track, so next week I should see the benefits.....

Welcome kimbo, you've come to the right place lol....it's good fun here, and lots of support is given. As a SW veteran I'm sure you've got some tips and tricks up your sleeve.

Ohhh have to share this...our TL told us last night....if you are a garlic bread lover: she uses a wholemeal bun, mixes Laughing Cow with garlic and puts it in the oven....yummmmmmm, will defo have a go at this over the weekend.

We are invited to friends tomorrow night, but I'm going to try and be as good as possible....really want to get 2-4 off for next week, so I'm back on track.....I do want to loose 2 st till xmas......

Hi folks - well the wekends here again ...thank God .. work is flippin stressful at the mo.

Monnchild - sorry about the gain - but its small number in the grand scheme of things and you know if you put your mind to it you will be back on track!! And the Gralic bread idea sounds yummy so I'll give it a go!!

Thanks for the ideas about evening time and syn free snacks - this week i will make the effort to ensure they're in and just go for it with them when the urge takes.

I gave myself a good talking to last night walking home from work - either I want to lose this weight or I don't - if I don't then stop paying out each week and stop stressing -- not the ansa I came up with!

Or I do and I should stop kidding myself and get on with it!! Correct ansa!!

So weekend here and full of determination - off to swimming in a mo whilst kids do judo (thought swimming was less painful for others to watch than a 16stone mad woman doing judo!!)

had lots of fab comments this week re weight loss and how good I look - had the hair cut and people can see me now - just prompted them to notice weight loss lol

So lets keep in there folks and have a big push before the mince pies appear!

Hi all,
Bubbly, congrats on all the comments - you deserve them I'm going through a similar experience at the moment re the comments - no-one really noticed until I'd lost 2 - 2.5 stone (I had sooo much to lose) but now with 5 stone gone they are really able to see the difference. It's such a boost for me when someone comments. I've also had my hair cut and I think you're right - that makes a difference too.

Moonchild, you are not alone. Only a few weeks ago I managed to put 3 lbs on - but I'm back on track now. I am amazed and disappointed that despite all the comments from people about my weight loss which make me feel so good - I still reach for food when I'm not hungry. I get so angry with myself - but of course when I feel bad I just think I might as well pack the diet in and eat what I like I guess we all have to learn to accept ourselves for who we are and accept the little set-backs on our dieting journey. After all, as Bubbly said, in the grand scheme of things a little gain of a couple of pounds isn't that much.

I was reading a few tips only yesterday re how to cut back on the trance-like eating state (Bubbly mentioned this recently). The book mentioned having a drink instead (non-alcoholic and sugar free of course) as it is easy to mistake thirst for hunger. After 10 minutes or so, if you are still hungry, then have something to eat - but by then the urge should have eased and it should be easier to choose a healthier option. Haven't tried this yet - but plan to.

Oh good grief! I'm not looking forward to Christmas this year - I always always always eat like it's going out of fashion! And I don't want to go back to class to find I've put a stone on in 2 weeks How are we going to manage Christmas girls? I was looking at the Lakeland Christmas catalogue yesterday and my mouth was watering at all the delicious food they have in stock - normally I buy loads of extra special bits "for the family" - ahem, well, actually, I eat most of them Oh dear ... love ff x

hey girls,
urgh, just recovering on the sofa just now. Yes, finally have internet at home, yay! Went over to friends house last night for a little gathering, got home at 4.30 in the morning....phfffffff, I'm shattered. Was a good night tho, foodwise it wasnt too bad, had some bolognese pasta and some garlic bread and unfortunately loads of wine. But I think I stayed within my points more or less. Just relaxing on the couch now, curled up under a blanket and fighting off the cats that contstantly want to walk over the computer.

That was the last party for a while, so I should have a month until the next and that means NO excuses!!!!! No crazy synning anymore for a while, no boozing and going back to boxercise not once a week but 3 times.

Hi all,
Oh dear - just got in from a meal out with a friend - chicken madras- gorgeous but synful - had starters and naan bread with the meal. AND it's weigh in for me tomorrow - why did I do it I could have said no! But then, I really enjoyed it and work is stressful and it was the only day my friend could meet me - so what the heck. I'll deal with the consequences on the scale tomorrow. I can't be on a diet all the time. Hope everyone else is sticking to their diet better than I am at the moment. Love ff x
