You go girl lol!!!

crazy helen 08-31-2007 06:38 AM

Hehe thanks!

Chris is taking me out tomorrow night, I gotta save some syns hehe.

Moonchild 08-31-2007 09:35 AM

Well girls, I'm going home soon.....I'll be working over the weekend, but you all enjoy yourselves xoxox

fighting flab 09-01-2007 05:18 PM

Hi all,
Hope you are having a good weekend. I've had a busy one so far...My O/H and I went to Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight this morning - it's where we first met :val2: I wore a new dress...me...in a dress...Elvi size 1 (16-18) I felt positively elegant!! We had a lovely lunch there (green day for me so baked potato and cottage cheese  Then, in the afternoon I went to the hair dressers and had a complete restyle - had the last of my curly perm cut out and had a sleek and elegant bob done instead - I was worried but I needn't have been - I love it! Then I came home and attacked my wardrobe. What I mean is, I tipped every single item of clothing out if it onto my bed and tried everything on. I had clothes in every size from 26 to 16 (the 16s and 18s were only bought recently). Now I have only 16, 18, and a few small 20s...the Sally Army has the rest :D:D:D:D I feel so chuffed with myself. And what precipitated this madness?...Why did I have my hair chopped and decimate my wardrobe? I got on the scales this am (I always take a sneaky peak on Saturday to see how things are going) and as of this morning I have lost 5 stone :D:cb::dancer::cloud9::woohoo::cheer2:

Moonchild 09-02-2007 02:58 AM

FF, ooohhhh sounds like you are having one great weekend....wow. Congratulations on the loss and the clothes washout.....Can't wait to do that as well, but so far, all my 'bigger' cloths still fit me as well...not complaining, just means I got more clothes to wear lol.

It's great to have such a boost when stepping on the scales. I had it on Thursday, was in a real ratty mood all week and when I stepped on the scales and the 2lb were off, that was absolutely fantastic.

Was working yesterday, so didn't do any picking. Had a solero smoothy (5syns) for desert, so thats not too bad. Working again today, made my fritatta for lunch today, so that should fill me up. Going to have a chicken stirfy tonight. Was really tempted to have a chippy last night, cause I couldnt be bothered cooking, but I resisted and just had my chicken and a baked potato...phewww.....

fighting flab 09-02-2007 04:21 AM

Thanks Moonchild. Excellent news re the 2lbs off  I've not tried the solero smoothies - they sound yummy tho'. Well done on resisting the take-away - that's a tough one to resist!! I'm a baked potato addict since starting this diet - have several per week - I miss having butter on my spud, do you? I descovered recently "Butter Buds" from Lakeland - it's a powder that is made of de-fatted butter - I checked them out on SW web and they were 1 syn each sachet - 1 sachet is enough for my spud and makes me not miss the butter. I don't use them all the time - cos I love cottage cheese or baked beans, but sometimes I just hanker for a buttered spud :)

Right - think after all that talk I'll go and have some breakfast and then I think some retail therapy in the Trafford Centre. Sorry you've got to work over the weekend Moonchild. Hope you have a good day - I'll think of you when I have my treat - Starbucks skinny latte - naughty but delicious :D Love ff x

Moonchild 09-02-2007 05:00 AM

Another tip is the frylight buttery to put on, its free....but I usually use a tsp of very low fat marg.....

Hungry as well, will have some fruit now and a piece of my fitatta....yummmm

Melgettinthin 09-02-2007 10:47 AM

Hey guys just checkin in quickly - it's been a crazy couple days and next week will also be manic. My WI was a little disappointing as I was only down a pound but if I think about it I am 10lbs down from where I was a month ago!

OK chat later!

Moonchild 09-02-2007 11:43 AM

Hey Mel, better a pound down, than a pound on, so don't be too dissappointed....steady, steady you are loosing the weight.....don't let that throw you off....well I'm off home. Have a good evening girls xxx

crazy helen 09-03-2007 04:28 AM

Hiya Girls,

Sorry I haven't been around to post much this weekend, its been really busy, and my internet at home was really slow. Speaking of internet did you get sky sorted yet Moonchild?

I had a fun weekend, we went out on Friday night, Chris took me to a place called Myo which is an eat as much as you like buffet which serves Chinese, Indian, Mediteranian and Thai, it's very tasty, I stuck to diet coke all night, and although i ddin't eat 100% according to plan I did well, I managed to continue it as a green day, and didn't have too many extra syns. Saturday morning I went to a BLT class (yes I am addicted :D ) and then we went into town where I bought myself some new tracksuit bottoms, and a new top.

Oh, I got a electric food steamer from work on Friday for £2.50! I unwrapped it all on Saturday morning and made myself some tasty rice and vegs, I quite liked it. My Mum cooks chicken in hers and its well tasty.

Good to hear about your loss Mel :)

I'll be around for most of today.

Moonchild 09-03-2007 05:42 AM

Hey Helen,
Sounds like you had a lovely weekend, well done. I'm off for the remainder of the week, which is great, just going to be lazy.

Well my internet is not really sorted, but I decided to get it installed now and then fight for it afterwards....couldn't be bothered anymore, keep running against brick walls and it just aggrivates me. So hopefully sometime this week I should get my things delivered.

Foodwise my weekend was ok, not too much synning, but have to admit I had a Marsbar and a bag of crisps last night. Should be ok, as I saved some syns, but you never know. I guess Thursday will tell.

Don't know if I can write during the week, depends on how quick sky gets the stuff delivered, but I'll be here till 4 today....

crazy helen 09-03-2007 08:21 AM

Oh have a fun rest of the week off Moonchild, I probably won't see you much then over the next few weeks, I'm off from next week for 2 weeks, one of them away and one which I intend on spending in the gym to recover from my holiday lol.

I had a letter from Sky telling me they're putting my subscription for tv up from £15 to £17, not impressed lol but mainly because we don't watch it that much.

Feeling quite tired today, so I'm not in the best of moods, fortunatly I've been left in the office on my own so I can't take it out on anyone else lol. At least this time next week I'll be packing for my holiday :)

Moonchild 09-03-2007 08:35 AM

Oh, wow, already time for your holiday. Well enjoy yourself to the fullest, try and stick to the plan at least a little. I'm sure you will have a great time.

crazy helen 09-03-2007 11:07 AM

Thanks, we're not going till next Tuesday so I'll be around a bit before then. My holiday has come round fast.

Chat to you soon.

crazy helen 09-05-2007 04:28 AM

How's everyone doing? I'm ok, although its been a tough week, my husband broke one of his teeth on Sunday night and is now in agony until he has the nerve killed on Friday morning, and then to top it all off his moped got stolen on Monday night from outside our house :( Apart from that things are ok lol.

I've been really good and stuck to the plan and I've been exercising, so I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself, I'm determind for this weight to come off.

Hope everyone is ok.

Helen xxx

SlimmingWorldChick 09-05-2007 04:44 AM

My mum has lost 1 stone 1 pound!!!I'm so proud of her!!She's only lost 1 pound for two weeks now and yesterday she'd lost 4. I'm soooo happy for her!!!She's really helped me a lot to start eating healthly. Even though im counting points all my foods have now changed. Instead of munching on crisps and stuff for my points im eating whole foods like brown rice, which means i can hardly snack between meals cos i get so full, and when i am snacking im munching the different fruits she keeps brining into the house. Like pawpaw i think it's called and melon yummmy i loove this. She also buys so much grapes!!There really are no other snacks in the house apart from this, which is great.

I'm so happy to see her getting more and more slim!!!And the change in her is amazing!!She's very excited now to go on holiday to Afirca and start excercising. She doesn't like the English whther too much but back home she can take long walks and even go swimming in her friend's pool. Thank you for Slimming World cos it's really helping her get more confident in herself.

Bubbly 09-05-2007 03:06 PM

Hi all

Well knock me down with a feather - mind you'd have to find a big feather!! but I lost 4 lbs this week - now this is after the 3lb gain last week from the hols but hey - what a result its gone!

Just got to keep this going - 5 more off and I'll be in the 15s - bloody ****!!!

When I started all this last May 2006 - I was over 20 stone and my goal was to lose weight before I hit 40 - well the dreaded date is 21st october so thats 6 more weigh in's until the big party.

Now as we all know girls as soon as I set a target i bugger up so all i shall say is that to be in the 15s will be it !! And one sexy outfit will be purchased!!

So thanks for all your support on here - it really does keep you sane!!!

crazy helen 09-06-2007 04:30 AM

I maintained this week, not too unhappy about it because of our anniversary celebrations, and a very busy and nightmare week with my husbands moped being stolen (which we got back last night with some help from the local criminals as the police wouldn't help us). We only had two hours sleep last night so I'm really tired.

Apart from all that I'm a tired but happy girl!

Moonchild 09-10-2007 04:29 AM

Morning Ladies,
I'm back! Had a lovely week off. Lost 2lb on my WI on Thursday and was well pleased with that. Missed my minigoal by 2lb, but oh well. I got very close, thats all that counts!!!!

Been a good girl all week, but the weekend was somewhat...eerrrr...well synfull lol. Went to TGI afer my meeting to have my B-day dinner. Friday I had a McD's for lunch, which I did not really enjoy I have to say. Saturday we went to town and I had a lovely DiMaggio's Pizza for lunch and several glasses of wine during the day. Watched football at home and snacked our fair share. So all in all not a very on plan weekend hahahaha. So even if I don't loose this week, I won't be too dissappointed.

I have however set myself a new minigoal: 2st till Xmas....should be more doable, its 14 weeks till xmas, so 2lb a week is achievable I think....obviously I have to make up for this week as well. And if I loose an extra 2lb, so a total of 30 lb, that puts me to 15st by xmas!!!! Which would be fab!

I'm back on track today, got lots of fruit with me, going to have pasta for lunch and again a different variation for dinner.

Bubbyly, well done on your loss, thats fab...really pleased for you. And I'm sure you'll lose lots more before the big day!!!

Helen, glad to hear that you got your hubby's moped back...thats good news. Quiet shocking tho the way it went lol....hope you enjoying your holiday.

SWC, good for your mom, that is fantastic.....and even better that she is getting you back on track lol.

Mel, where are you hanging out lately????

Well, I better start looking busy....

pirategirl 09-10-2007 10:04 AM

Hey all,

Good job on the loss Moonchild, hopefull your synful weekend won't make too much difference, I've done the same before and still lost, even if it's just a 1lb!

Lost 6lb on my WI last tuesday (that was over 2 weeks though) and I've had an ok week, not the best so I'm kinda worrying for tomorrow.

This brings to my next question (which may already have been asked but I don't fancy reading over the thousands posts in this thread :$), what do you guys and girls think about bathroom scales? Do you feel you manage better with them, so you can check how you are doing and have some control over it or do you feel you become more obsessed, weighing yourself at every opportunity? The reason I am asking is that I dread going to WI. Even when I know I've been good. I thought getting scales would make it a bit easier on myself if I had some kind of idea what was going to happen at WI instead of getting myself in a tizzle! Any advice/comments would be much appreciated!

Moonchild 09-10-2007 10:43 AM

Hey pirategirl, well done on the 6lb loss, thats really good. I'm sure you'll be fine tomorrow, keep those spirits up.

As for bathroom scales....I don't have any at home, and don't want them either, because you could become easyly become obsessed. The WI's are there for a reason luv, we all thread them....sometimes more, sometimes less. But it's this psychological thing that makes you stick to your diet more. If you have your scales at home you might soon not go to the meetings at all anymore and loose some useful guidance.....

Anyway, where in Scotland are you?

pirategirl 09-10-2007 12:07 PM

Thanks Moonchild. I think I'm going to refrain from buying scales, you are right in what you are saying that it's all psychological. I've put on a couple of times but I've always known the reason why so it doesn't bother me but I just need to get over the fear of putting on even if I know I've been good.

I live in Tayside, I see you live in Glasgow, not too far away :) Will be over in Glasgow in a couple weeks, going to see Incubus :)

crazy helen 09-10-2007 01:07 PM

Nice losses there girls! We're off tomorrow to Majorca woohoo! I weighed this morning just so I have an idea on my weight and I'm 2 pounds down! I'm posting at home so can't post properly but I hope your weeks go well!

pirategirl 09-10-2007 02:31 PM

Excellent Helen, keep it up! Have fun on holiday, wish it was me that was going! Remember to food optimise ;)

fighting flab 09-10-2007 03:02 PM

Hi all,
Wow - some terrific weight losses happening lately :D I've been mad busy at work and too knackered when I get home to go anywhere near a computer. But it's eased off a bit today. I lost another 1.5 lbs at last weigh in - not sure what this week's going to be (tomorrow evening) I've been a bit up and down with the plan but stuck to it - mostly - so I'm hoping for a loss :^:

Keep up the good work everyone - Hope you have a good holiday in sunny Majorca CH

Love ff x

Moonchild 09-11-2007 03:01 AM

Pirategirl, good for you....I sometimes dread going on these scales, but occasionally you're in for a pleasant surprise....go for it!!!!

Helen, enjoy your holiday (you are probably at the airport already)...

FF, well done on the loss, steadily steadily we all are dropping the weight....ist great.

Since I've joined this forum I'm so much more motivated, it's great to speak to people you can relate to, it's like having a SW meeting daily lol. I'm positive we all will achieve our goals here....specially the first big one coming up in 14 weeks :snowball:...my team leader drew a :tree: for all of us with 14 partitions in it, so every week, for every pound you lost, it will get coloured...I know its a bit tacky, but a cool idea....going to make one for myself at home and put it on the fridge :smug:

crazy helen 09-11-2007 10:48 AM

Hehe, just leaving for the airport now, so excited!

fighting flab 09-11-2007 03:30 PM

Hi all,
Well only lost 1/2 lb this week - but at least it's off :^: Oh my goodness Moonchild - Christmas trees!! 14 weeks!!!! I can't believe it's so close - where did the year go?
Hope everyone is doing well. Love ff x

Moonchild 09-12-2007 02:11 AM

I know, it's shocking isn't it? Time is just flying by....

Well done on your loss FF, even a small loss is a loss...and wow you're well on your way to your 4th goal!!!

fighting flab 09-12-2007 02:43 PM

Hi Moonchild,
It's really strange - I remember typing the goals in and wondering if I'd ever manage to do even one of them. But here I am working towards number 4. It was a great moment when the amount I had lost was more than the amount I had to lose :D:D:D Of course I had smaller goals when I started - I didn't expect to lose even 50% of my excess weight - but as I got closer to that I decided I'd give myself something to work towards.

You're doing well too - is your mini goal just a number to work towards ( like mine) or do you have an event to aim for or a particular dress/outfit you'd like to get into? Originally I just wanted to look nice in my wedding dress and photos - but that was in May and amazingly I'm still on the diet (not 100% tho') and still losing weight (but much more slowly). Next weeks weigh in will be fun - the night before I've arranged to go out for a curry  with an old friend I haven't seen for ages and she couldn't manage any other night! Hmmm I'll have to try to be super good this week - not likely!

Hope you have a good day at work, love ff x

Bubbly 09-12-2007 04:51 PM

Hi all

Well I'm even starting to annoy myself - why can't I stop picking at every advert interval each evening??

I'm brilliant all day - I'm at work - I pick the kids up at 6, get home and make their tea and mine - still on plan - no probs but the minute those kids are in bed I'm doing 20 stand ups - thats stand up and walk to the fridge/cupboard....insert your own word for anything that contains food!!!

And then I munch on anything ..its like I'm in a trance GET A GRIP WOMAN!!!!

Right rant over - maintained this week so at least not going wrong way but I just looked at my weigh in book and in the last 2 months I've actually only lost 3llbs with all the maintains and put ons .... pathetic really.

So kids back at brownies I'm staying to class instead of running out and I'm going to put an alarm on the kitchen lol...not really!

Are any of you evening pickers - any tips??

Moonchild 09-13-2007 04:14 AM

Morning Ladies,
I think it's good do do it in little steps....if you look at all the weight you have to loose in one go u just give up hope....I have a total of 6 or 7 stone to loose, and looking at that is just depressing. But tackeling it 1st at a time it's much much more managable....I don't really have an event to work towards to, but I want to go back home next year to our annual street fest and look fabulous....it's somewhere in June I think, so that should give me enough time....

FF, I have the same problem. When I get home I'm usually by myself for an hour or so, and the temptation is just too much sometimes. I try to snack on chocolate snackajacks then, they are 2 1/2 syns for the big one. Once my other half is home I'm ok, because he watches what I eat and that helps me out a lot. Maybe ask yor other half to do the same? Another tip is to have nice low syn snacks about, like syn free crisps, SW Ferrero Rochers, Asda Cheesy Curls (3 1/2 syns) etc.....

kimbofrog 09-13-2007 11:09 AM

Hi

I have just found this site and it looks like fun!

I have just started SW with my 2 kids. One of my friends already goes and has lost a lot of weight already.

I have a long way to go but I know I can do it as lost 6.5 stone before...Just have to do it again!

I suffer with depression and have had a lot of events in my life that have contributed to me non-stop eating.

Id love to swop ideas for free meals and snacks as Im at home alot and need to stop picking at bad things and replace them with nice free things.

I mostly follow the green days as its easy for me and my family to eat and just syn out the extras like meat etc

I live in Brighton and have also tried getting a group together of people with more than 3 stone together for exercise and fun activities...

Any one local to me? or have any great free food ideas?

Kim

Ps how do I get a ticker thingy at the bottom?

veggie 09-13-2007 12:05 PM

 Welcome to the forum Kim  All the info about the weight tracker is in this thread. :)

Hi Bubbly ..I'm an evening picker too :( I agree with what Moonchild wrote..I keep plenty of syn free nibbles in the fridge/cupboard for snack-attacks e.g. raw carrots, cold cooked quorn sausages, sugar free freeze pops, muller light yoghurt, fresh fruit, etc, and if i havn't had a B choice .. a Hi-Fi Bar.

Moonchild, i had about 7 st to lose in Jan this year.. i am now just on 2 st from target!!!:D

Welcome Kim

Good luck to all, love ff x

Moonchild 09-14-2007 06:33 AM

Morning all,

Urghhh, I gained 2lb!!! I'm well annoyed with myself....but oh well, I had it coming after stuffing my face last weekend. But the important thing is that I'm back on track, so next week I should see the benefits.....

Welcome kimbo, you've come to the right place lol....it's good fun here, and lots of support is given. As a SW veteran I'm sure you've got some tips and tricks up your sleeve.

Ohhh have to share this...our TL told us last night....if you are a garlic bread lover: she uses a wholemeal bun, mixes Laughing Cow with garlic and puts it in the oven....yummmmmmm, will defo have a go at this over the weekend.

We are invited to friends tomorrow night, but I'm going to try and be as good as possible....really want to get 2-4 off for next week, so I'm back on track.....I do want to loose 2 st till xmas......

Bubbly 09-15-2007 04:13 AM

Hi folks - well the wekends here again ...thank God .. work is flippin stressful at the mo.

Monnchild - sorry about the gain - but its small number in the grand scheme of things and you know if you put your mind to it you will be back on track!! And the Gralic bread idea sounds yummy so I'll give it a go!!

Thanks for the ideas about evening time and syn free snacks - this week i will make the effort to ensure they're in and just go for it with them when the urge takes.

I gave myself a good talking to last night walking home from work - either I want to lose this weight or I don't - if I don't then stop paying out each week and stop stressing -- not the ansa I came up with!

Or I do and I should stop kidding myself and get on with it!! Correct ansa!!

So weekend here and full of determination - off to swimming in a mo whilst kids do judo (thought swimming was less painful for others to watch than a 16stone mad woman doing judo!!)

had lots of fab comments this week re weight loss and how good I look - had the hair cut and people can see me now - just prompted them to notice weight loss lol

So lets keep in there folks and have a big push before the mince pies appear!

Hi all,
Bubbly, congrats on all the comments - you deserve them  I'm going through a similar experience at the moment re the comments - no-one really noticed until I'd lost 2 - 2.5 stone (I had sooo much to lose) but now with 5 stone gone they are really able to see the difference. It's such a boost for me when someone comments. I've also had my hair cut and I think you're right - that makes a difference too.

Moonchild, you are not alone. Only a few weeks ago I managed to put 3 lbs on - but I'm back on track now. I am amazed and disappointed that despite all the comments from people about my weight loss which make me feel so good - I still reach for food when I'm not hungry. I get so angry with myself - but of course when I feel bad I just think I might as well pack the diet in and eat what I like:( I guess we all have to learn to accept ourselves for who we are and accept the little set-backs on our dieting journey. After all, as Bubbly said, in the grand scheme of things a little gain of a couple of pounds isn't that much.

I was reading a few tips only yesterday re how to cut back on the trance-like eating state (Bubbly mentioned this recently). The book mentioned having a drink instead (non-alcoholic and sugar free of course) as it is easy to mistake thirst for hunger. After 10 minutes or so, if you are still hungry, then have something to eat - but by then the urge should have eased and it should be easier to choose a healthier option. Haven't tried this yet - but plan to.

Oh good grief! I'm not looking forward to Christmas this year - I always always always eat like it's going out of fashion! And I don't want to go back to class to find I've put a stone on in 2 weeks :( How are we going to manage Christmas girls? I was looking at the Lakeland Christmas catalogue yesterday and my mouth was watering at all the delicious food they have in stock - normally I buy loads of extra special bits "for the family" - ahem, well, actually, I eat most of them :o:o:o Oh dear ... love ff x

Moonchild 09-16-2007 10:23 AM

hey girls,
urgh, just recovering on the sofa just now. Yes, finally have internet at home, yay! Went over to friends house last night for a little gathering, got home at 4.30 in the morning....phfffffff, I'm shattered. Was a good night tho, foodwise it wasnt too bad, had some bolognese pasta and some garlic bread and unfortunately loads of wine. But I think I stayed within my points more or less. Just relaxing on the couch now, curled up under a blanket and fighting off the cats that contstantly want to walk over the computer.

That was the last party for a while, so I should have a month until the next and that means NO excuses!!!!! No crazy synning anymore for a while, no boozing and going back to boxercise not once a week but 3 times.

fighting flab 09-17-2007 04:08 PM

Hi all,
Oh dear - just got in from a meal out with a friend - chicken madras- gorgeous but synful - had starters and naan bread with the meal. AND it's weigh in for me tomorrow - why did I do it :?: I could have said no! But then, I really enjoyed it and work is stressful and it was the only day my friend could meet me - so what the heck. I'll deal with the consequences on the scale tomorrow. I can't be on a diet all the time. Hope everyone else is sticking to their diet better than I am at the moment. Love ff x
