I'm two pounds down this week so I'm pretty pleased with that. I ache though and I wanted to go to BLT tonigh, I'll have to see how I'm feeling later.
I'm in charge at work today, scary  |
Oh 2lb off, thats great Helen, good for you!!!!! And with all the extra exercise you will also see a difference in the inches you loose. You might not loose much weight for a week or two, cause your muscles are building up, but you should see the difference in inches....I'm really pleased for you....and getting ever closer to your goal.
|
Thanks Moon, I was pretty pleased, although secretly I had hoped for more hehe. I'm just looking at pressies for my parents Birthdays, I realised that I need to get them before I go on holiday, so I'm all over ebay, and hotel chocolat websites lol. Have you guys heard of quidco when shopping online? Its a money back scheme when you shop online, seems to be pretty good, my friend has made over £400 pounds on it this year.
Bit gutted this morning as our bread had gone off and sent hubby to buy some while I made our breakfast, but the local shop had only got white bread, so I have to count it as syns :( |
Dont' we all lol.....we get a good loss and we still want more.....never heard of that website......
White bread....mmmmhhhhh I do miss it sometimes...... Got some news regarding the job....my unpatient self contacted the job agency and apparently the manager is on holiday but they want to see me again for a 2nd interview beginning of september....yay! I just checked the syns on the soup I wanted to have for lunch and its a wopping 11!!!! I'm shocked....I guess I won't be having that for lunch....will drop into Somerfield during lunch and get me something to put on my bread....I'm still in shock...... |
Hey guys!
Wanted to write earlier but this has without a doubt been the craziest day of the week at my school! New teachers turning up with no idea where they going (and later I find out they haven't even been interviewed!), old teachers NOT turning up for the dodgiest of reasons, manager having a meltdown etc. etc. I've actually found it all funny, tbh. But it has certainly kept me on my toes LOL! Helen fantastic loss! Hope you are happy with it anyway! I am happy with anything between 1.5 - 3. If the scale is going in the right direction that's really all you want isn't it? I had a 3.5 lb loss - no idea how THAT happened! Actually I kind of know I have been eating CONSTANTLY but eating lots of fruit and veg and riding my bike and sticking to the program (until I hit the pub LOL!). I was pretty pleased as I am now down over half a stone and also I made Slimmer of the Week! Pretty groovy. I don't expect those kinds of losses every week but am happy to have had one. And again as long as the scale keeps moving in the right direction, I am happy! Now I just need to keep momentum up. Moon you are really are a little chef with all of your recipes! I know what you mean about the kitchen - mine ALWAYS looks like a disaster area when I am done cooking! Unfortunately the boyfriend doesn't seem to understand the concept of 'washing up = also tidying up the kitchen in general.' So I will come in after he's done the washing up to find clean dishes and dirty counters. Drives me CRAZY! Alright ladies am gonna run to the fruit stand at the end of the road while I have a quiet moment LOL! Mel |
Well done Mel, thats a great loss! Even with having a few drinks, thats fab....you seem to get the hang of it now.....sounds like you're having the time of your life there today hahaha....I love those days when it's crazy....unfortunately I'm only annoyed here lately.
|
Morning ladies,
Unbelievable but true, I've lost 2lb this week. I could now bite my behind....how much would I have lost if I wouldn't have eaten all that crap over the weekend? Grrrrrrrrrrr! But well, I've lost, and am well chuffed with it. And I've been so good this week, I should have a loss next week as well....hopefully. Going to stick to the plan to the dot, so I can get rid of these 6lb before my Bday, then I'm down to 17st....it really seems that the variation of days does the trick....will try and keep that up.... Made the sausage hotpot last night and had it with pasta, it was absolutely delicious...my other half loved it as well......don't have a clue what I'm making tonight, but we have a buffet at work today for lunch, so it will probably just be beans on toast or something like that. |
Hehe well done on the losses girls, that's great. I've been pretty crazy these last few days, busy and insane lol. I won't be on much now till after the weekend, but have a great weekend and lots of fun!
|
It's great, we all had a good loss this week, well chuffed. Going out for dinner with some friends tomorrow, but I'll be a good girl....going to have a chinky, so it shouldnt be too bad...
It's also showdown tomorrow with the guy from the Sky sales box......going to give him a big piece of my mind. Well Helen, hope you have a nice weekend. Stay on the plan, have lots of fun! |
Ok, buffet is over....and i watched what I ate....kinda...well....not really.....Had lots of pastasalad, which shouldnt be to bad...but also had a brownie (which was to die for) and some tiramisu...and some savoury cheesecake....no big pieces, but still....counted 20 syns, which is probably about half of what it really was lol......but oh well.....played on the WII which one of my collegues brought for buffet day, and got some off. Did some boxing which was fun.
Well, another hour and a half and then its the weekend....yay.....have a great weekend all....until monday!!!! |
Hey guys been a crazy day at work. Moonchild AWESOME about the 2lb loss! Just keep doing what you are doing and you'll see the scale go down next week, too. Wow we are rockin, aren't we ?!?
Right guys got a pretty social weekend on tap! Off to TWO leaving dos tonight (don't worry I can handle it LOL!) Then a double birthday party tomorrow. Allegedly it is going to be 25 degrees and sunny tomorrow. I will believe it when I see it! Oh and can I jsut say Moonchild mmmm sausage hotpot! I'm going to have to have a look at your blog for the recipe! Helen I definitely understand crazy days! Hope it all calms down for you and you have a nice bank holiday weekend! Right bye for now ladies have a fabulous weekend! Mel |
Just had a little victory, I went to see my doctor and while I was there I asked her to update my weight on her records, she was really pleased, I asked her when I could go back on the pill which my other doctor had taken me off because I was too overweight, she checked some things out and said I could go back on it yay! :)
Hubby is out tonight and my usual girlie friend is out of town so I think its a night watching 24 and playing on the ps3 lol. Not sure what we're going to do this weekend, but it'll involve lots of relaxing and lots of healthy eating hehe. Have fun girls :D |
Hello ladies!
Helen that is AWESOME about the birth control! I know my doc took me off the estrogen-based kind and put me on the progresterone kind for the same reason. I hope to make it to where you are! Yesterday was a pretty tough day for me but I managed to stay (mostly!) OP and I am very happy about that. I was a little bit hung over from Friday night and I hadn't slept well because when I got home I saw I had a special delivery at the post office. I don't think I mentioned it to you guys but I have been waiting for my Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK for a few weeks. It's a long story but the short version is I had to spend A LOT of money to get this, and I also had to wait an additional year to get it because the Home Office changed the length of the qualifying period right before I was going to be able to apply, and I have really wanted this because it means I can work wherever I want in the UK and I am not tied to my employer anymore (as I have been for the past 5 years). So when I saw the special delivery notice I was very excited because I thought it was my passports and my ILR visa - I couldn't sleep! Oh and it was - I am very happy I finally have permanent residency in the UK! If I can make it one more year I will be able to have dual UK and US citizenship which would be awesome! The upshot of this was I was VERRRY tired and hung over yesterday and really wanting to eat. My bf finally suggested we get an Indian takeaway, and I went through my SW book to find something relatively low in syns, which I did. Was delicious and I DID manage to stay on program which I am very happy about! Even went to the pub afterwards and stayed on diet coke and water because I'd used all my syns on our takeaway! I'm going to stick to this program and achieve my goals, dammit! Anyway ladies hope you are having a lovely bank holiday weekend! Talk to ya later! :) Mel |
Mornin Ladies,
Well eventho its bank holiday for you guys, I'm working....but oh well. Helen, awesome about the pill, thats great news. I didn't even know they did that...hmmmm. Hope you enjoyed your night in, thats why I keep pushing my other half to go out occasionally with his mates, so I can stay on the sofa, and have a girly night in.... Mel, great you stayed OP even with having an indian takeaway! And even greater news about your visa...yay!!! My weekend was quiet good too. As you all know had the buffet on Friday afternoon, so didnt eat anything for dinner. Saturday morning I went to town to sort out Sky, which was not so successful. They asked me to send an email and they would inform their areamanager parallel to that, so hopefully that should get a result. Chilled out the rest of the day and went out with some friends at night. Tried to stay on the plan, but had a few more vodkas then I should have. But oh well, had some duck with boiled rice for dinner. So yesterday was just chilling out, stayed OP yesterday, so quiet pleased with the weekend. Will be dead good again during the week, and with the boxing I should be ok for my WI on Thursday. |
Hello all,
My mum has been trying so hard on slimming world in 4 weeks has lost 10 pounds i'm so proud of her. She's doing so well that she's making me wanna come back and join.hmmm...we'll c Does anyone know how many syns is the Muller Fruit corner strawberry flavour yogurt? Thanks in advance wishing you all well on your new ways of life. |
Hey SWC, welll done your mum...thats a great loss....
The Fruit corner has 6 syns unfortunately.....but well worth it occasionally lol..... |
Hiya girls, and welcome back to work ;) I wish the whole weekend was bank holiday lol. Mel congratulations on getting the right to stay here, that's great, I bet its been playing on your mind until it was confirmed. Moonchild, sorry you had to work on bank holiday, that sucks, I hope it wasn't too busy for you.
You have both done really well staying OP all weekend, well done, I wish I could say the same for me lol, I have been a bit naughty. Saturday Chris took me out for an italian lunch, which was gorgeous, I did quite well, stayed on a green day, but I know I could have done better. Then on Sunday we had a salad bowl from the supermarket, I can't even justify why I did it lol, but I ate all sorts of fattening and I have to say yummy food. Yesterday I got back OP though. I realised how hard its going to be for me when I'm on holiday to stay OP, Chris says I shouldn't worry about it too much while we're away but I am going to be as strict on myself as I can, at least we are swimming in the sea all the time, so that'll keep me exercising. Oh, well I'm not going to worry about it just yet, two weeks to go. I'm off to aerobics tonight, and then I have a yummy quorn pasta bake for dinner tonight, its last nights leftovers. Right gotta go, we have a morning meeting with bacon sandwiches :D |
Thank you Moonchild.
She stepped on the scale today and has lost another 2 pounds she's 3 pounds away from 1 stone. I'm sooooooooo proud, i wanna treat her to something nice. NOT FOOD!!Any ideas? Does anyone also know the the syn value for the Linda McCartney quorn sausage rolls and quorn pie? She loves quorn but i think these are a bit high in points cos of the pastry. Thanks in advance ladies. |
Pedicure?
|
Oh hey dudes and buenos dias SW chick! BTW it looks like it's 6 syns for the sausage rolls.
Back at work, boo! But eating my beloved Grape Nuts (American breakfast cereal but you can get it in the UK at most big grocery stores so you may be familiar with it) and soy milk for brekky, YAY! Helen don't even worry about your slightly off program days! You enjoyed yourself and now you're moving on back OP. That's fine! Know what you mean about holidays - EVERY time I've been on a diet in the UK I tell myself I will stay on it when I go on holiday to the States - I NEVER do! There's just so much naughty food I want to have while I'm there - Mexican, Chicago-style pizza, etc. etc... I'm already thinking about how to best to cope with this when I'm there for Christmas. Right better go do some work LOL! |
Hey girls,
Helen, we all have the occasional 'days off' but as long as you get back on track, you are on the right path....and I wouldn't worry so much about the holiday.....it's there to be enjoyed, don't deprive yourself. SWC, maybe a massage or facial? That's usually nice......I would certainly apreciate it. Just had a big bowl of pasta with chili tomato sauce...my mouth is still burning lol. It's my TOM and I'm peeing like it's going out of fashion....which is usually a good sign, and hopefully the scales will be nice to me on Thursday. Had an absolute feast last night for dinner. Was on red day, so had a beef olive and a beef kebap from our butcher, who has a special section for SW, mashed swede, some new potatoes and gravy.....the great thing is, the gravy was the only thing with syns....was absolutely stuffed afterwards. Going to make the pasta and rice pie tonight with some chips....yummy..... |
LOL Moonchild I'm reading your entry as I'm eating a very spicy tomato veggie stirfry!
|
I'm back, such a busy day, just had a meeting with my Boss, we have a planning meeting 3 times a year for the future term, it went really well, which I am pleased about as I was really nervous about it, and he said he was really pleased with the work I'd been doing.
Mel, which book is it that you use for when you eat out to count the syns on different meals? I'm thinking of getting one, and I want to know which one is good, and has a nice variety of types of food in it. I'm off to aerobics tonight, hmm might have told you that already in an earlier post lol, and then a night of chilling with Chris, he's started exercising when I'm out which is good, he's working on cardio and on his muscles :) Feeling a bit spaced out today, I think I've been working too hard lol, and I just want to switch off and chill out. We watched a couple of movies at the weekend which was nice, Rocky Balboa (really good), Nacho Libra (not great) and New Police Story (very good), I love movie watching. Right, time to do some more work..... |
Wow Crazy helen. Keep it up!!I just saw how much weight you have lost well done to you.
Melgettingthin..ner do your thing, and try and hold back on the holiday temptations it will all be worth it, i'm sure there are some good healthy alternatives in the States too!!I think the pedicure sounds good too. She absolutely loves that sort of stuff i forgot about that. My friend owns a beauty salon maybe i can get a discount. Also thanks for the massage and facial idea too Moonchild. My mum is making spare ribs with her own adapted SW low syn BBQ sauce. That woman can cook!!She's gonna go visit some relatives soon in Africa, and i thought a good survival pack would be for her to a)join this site and this board and THIS thread!!! b)I've seen a full SW pack on ebay for like £3 for her to take with her, she's been using all my old stuff and my book is so torn and tattered. c)I'm also gonna make her a chart for her loses with stars and everything as she doesnt go to meetings i think this will be good incentive. Can i know the syns for Go ahead Apple and Sultana Crispy slices(low fat 56 kcals per slice)? BTW where can i find out how much syns something is, cos the're not all in the book. |
Hi everyone...hope you're all ok - Well I'm back from France -weather not too fantastic but a good break away!
You lot have been extremely busy ...mice..sky...recipees on blogs... I'm put to shame - i've read Harry Potter - partaken in copious bottles of wine and hit the croissants for 2 weeks - weigh in is tomorrow -oh how we'll chortle!!! But I am getting back on plan which is good and after the initial shock tomorrow i'll be more determined - the holiday was great for just chillin and forgetting (not completely - which surpised me ) SW. It feels like I'm going back to school as well as the kids. So i'll shall update you with the dreaded figures and take it like the determined new term girl I am. |
Welcome back Bubbly, sounds like you had fun in France. Thanks SWG, my weight loss has been slow but steady, and I'm finally beginning to see it in myself.
Ok girls, time to give me some advice, I'm off to Pizza Express tonight with my hubby and parents to celebrate our wedding anniversay (which is tomorrow), any suggestions for something nice and tasty for me to eat? I'm thinking I'll go down the pasta route and have a green day. Went to do aerobics last night, and got chatting to two girls there which was cool, there weren't many people at the class, and we did loads of exercises with weights which I enjoyed. How is everyone today? |
Happy anniversary to you and your hubby Helen! Hope you have a nice night! I also would go green - probably your best bet. I don't actually have a book of syns other than the one that came when I joined SW, I am just very adept at using syns online on the website! That said last week when I was at group I was thumbing through a book that had lots of syn counts for a variety of restaurant food.
Hi bubbly! Wine and croissants... mmm it sounds heavenly! Through some cheese in and I WOULD be in heaven LOL! Good attitude on the return to plan, though. SW Chick - speaking of being adept at looking up syns I looked up both of those things but couldn't find the syns! Gaah! If you go to the SW website you can calculate the syns based on the nutritional info. Moonchild just had a look at your recipe blog the other day. Can I just say, YUM?!?? Lots of delicious things on there to try! And out of curiosity, does anyone know a good recipe for SW tiramisu? |
Hehe thanks for the congratulations, the last 4 years of being married have flown by. I'll check out the website, and see what I can find, they're selling a book on the slimming world site that I'll get to prepare for our holiday, and sneak it in my case without my hubby seeing it hehe.
Moonchild seems to be the chef amongst us, she has so many good ideas :) Right, lots of work to do, time to get to it. |
Wow girls, all back!!!! Lets see where to start...
Bubbly....:welcome2: back. I can see that you enjoyed your holiday...mmmmmhhh sounds lovely. Read HP as well, nearly cried when it was finish (yes, i know its pathetic). Keeping my fingers crossed for you WI tomorrow, hope it won't be too bad. But the shock might be good to kick u back into gear lol. Helen, well done on your aerobics...I have been lazy the last couple of days and didnt go to the boxing....TOM didn't really help the matter either lol. :congrat: Happy anniversary!!!! Advise on pizza express....hmmm thats a tough one...I would probably eat whatever I like and stay synfree the rest of the week....or at least try....but a tomato based pasta dish would probably be the safer bet lol. SWC, just checked the synvalue on the website, couldn't find it, do u know who produces go ahead stuff? Mel, thanks, I'm continuing to put them up....I tried the Pasta& Rice pie last night and it was absolutely delicious....brought the other half to work with me today. Yumm! It's really busy here today, took me 30 mins to write this post....Still no news from the job :( but I know they are very busy so I'll be patient. Oh and Sky sent me an email yesterday, with completely useless information, seems that they haven't read my complaint at all...so I replied with a bit more to the point words lol....if I don't hear anything today, I'll call them tonight. |
Hi Moonchild
Just checked out the recipees - you star - i'll get some of mine out and post them up as well. going to try your cheesy chips with bacon and salsa tonight - think kids will love it!!! have you made it yet - did it go down well? |
Hey Bubbly, no havent made this particular recipe yet, but I think it will be lovely, let me know how it went.....maybe if you want to save time you could use WW Chips instead...they are 10 syns for the whole bag....
Right ladies, im off home now, I've PMS'd enough today for my colleagues to start hating me lol....will lay on the sofa with the cats, watch afternoon telly and figure out what to eat.....and I WILL NOT have any chocolate (well I try, made the Rochers last night) |
Aw, hope you're feeling better soon Moonchild. I'm off to get my car checked over before its MOT and to get a dodge leaky tyre fixed, and then its home to get ready for our meal.
Have a fun evening girls! |
Hi all,
Long time no see, Moonchild  I haven't been around 3FC for a while - since June I think!! Work has been mad and my mum hasn't been well, ended up having major op, but she's much better now and work, although still busy, is less manic. My weight loss is still going well as you can see from my ticker and I can see that you are all making excellent progress. Married life is grrrrrreat :D I'll try and pop in more regularly but I can only check the site in the evenings as this kind of site is banned at work :( Good job really, or I'd just be messing around on the internet all day instead of working! Anyway - just thought I'd say hi. Hope you all have a good rest of the week. Love FF x |
Fantasic tea ...felt very indulgent!! And best of all - and no small amount of praise Moonchild I can assure you -my ten year old said next time I should make more of it!!!
Yipee...so anyone fancying cheesy chips with bacon and salsa - go for it. I used dreid chillies instead of jalpenos and added some courgetttes in with the mushrooms and bacon - scumptious!! good job really as I need some inspiration - put on 3lb over the holiday period but as thats nearly 3 weeks - i don't think its that bad...and i really know what i've eaten ...lol Back on the wagon again and good luck everyone with WIs this week. |
Morning ladies,
FF, wow youve been gone for ages....glad to see you're losing the weight...you're nearly there!!! Glad your mom is ok and things are looking up :carrot:. Bubbly, oh thats great to hear!!!! I'm flattered, eventho it's not my recipe, I've just found it somewhere and collected it. Did you make it from scratch or did you use WW chips? And 3lb in 3 weeks? Thats not bad at all! I would have probably gained more than that....you'll have that off again in no time! I couldn't be bothered cooking last night, so I made some cheesy toast for me and some beans on toast for Mr. Beaver....also made the SW potato scones, which were yummy surprisingly!!!! Had two of my Rochers last night, wich isnt too bad, only 2 syns and my choc craving was satisfied..... WI day, I really hope I lost something again this week, but I feel really bloaty cause of TOM. But you just never know. So how did everyones WI go? |
Welcome to FF, good to have more people posting around here.
I've decided when I'm off work for 2 weeks I'm going to experiment with MCs cooking ideas, we're away for a week, but I should have more time to cook during the week I have at home, I need to get more adventurous in my cooking. Had a lovely meal last night, and I can honestly say I tried my best. For my starter I had marinaded tomatoes which was yummy, and I really enjoyed them, I was really proud of myself for staying away from the brushetta or the garlic bread. Main course I had spinich and ricotta cannaloni, I know that wasn't 100% great but it was the best thing I could find, and the only one that came with a tomato based sauce, yes, I resisted pizza which is nothing short of a miracle. Everyone else had puddings but I for once refused, and apart from one diet coke I stuck to iced water all night. A great evening, lovely to see my parents and I don't feel guilty for unhealthy eating. Hubby is taking me out on Saturday night, and I don't know where we're going so I'll have to do my best then too. Took my car to have my puncture checked on my way home last night, and was gutted to be told that because the puncture was in the same place as a previous repair they couldn't repair it, they hadn't got my tyre in stock but I booked it in for Friday, and they'll do its MOT at the same time. I asked how much the tyre would cost and was told £146 because the tyres are sports low profile tyres *sigh* gave the guy the big puppy eyes and sighed, and managed to get it down to £130. Doing a big mail out at work today, I've been put in charge of those things as our admin is leaving, although I'm not admin, I hate mail out it bores me senseless. Oh, and I lost 2 pounds, so I'm very pleased with myself, I'd not had the best week so I'm really happy with that. Off to BLT tonight. :carrot: How are you guys doing? MC I'm sure you'll be fine, and remember its not your fault you're bloated so if you don't see movement then don't get too down about it. |
Oh well done on your loss Helen, 2lb is great!!! And good stuff that you enjoyed yourself last night and still stayed on the plan...BRAVO!!!! I wish I had that willpower sometimes lol.
Real shame about the tire tho....but well, you've managed to get him down a bit, so thats a plus..... I'm on red today, so I'm going to make some Burgers tonight. Not going to make chips, cause the beef patties are quiet big, so that should fill us up. Really hoping for 3lb off this week, cause if I get another 3 off next week, I'm down to 17st on my Birthday.... |
How did everyone else get on at WI yesterday? I went to BLT last night, it was a new instructor, but she was really good and I liked her music style which was garage instead of dance, I didn't think I'm worked too hard but I'm aching loads today so she must have put us through it, maybe I'm getting fitter so I don't notice it at the time.
Got back from the gym and Chris had cooked me a really tasty meal which wasn't too high on the syns but then we drank a bottle of wine between us, ooops! Hope you're all ok  |
Hey ladies,
Unbelievable but true, I've lost 2lb yesterday....hooraayyyyy!!!! I was sooooo pleased. Seems that I am back on track and I only got 4lb to loose to hit 17st. Going back to boxercise next week, so if I will be really good I just might make my minigoal. Working all weekend, so I won't be having fancy lunches, which is good on the syn side of things. The downside is that I'm home from Tuesday to Sunday, so that might mean unneccessary picking. Need to prep looooooooaaaads of syn free picky stuff. I tried on a pair of trousers that I could barely close a month ago, and they closed without trouble, yay. And a size 18 shirt, which made me look like a sausage fits as well, hooraay! So I'm in a really good mood today, and I hope it carries through the day... Well done Helen on the workout, for me it's the other way around...I'm in complete pain during the workout, but I'm not sore anymore afterwards...well next week I probably will. Had Burgers last night for dinner and a nice (well needed) glas of wine. |
Oh well done MC, that's a great loss, and you got into an 18, that's awesome! I'm really pleased for you.
We're having a leaving buffet at lunch today for somebody who's leaving, I already refused the cream cakes, I will be strong!! |
