Well done with the loss Moonchild, I know what you mean about not being dissapointed in losing 1lb, anything is better than nothing isn't it. I can't wait till I weigh next week hehe.
|
Funny thing that, I'm the same way, usually can't wait until Thursday, so I can get weight. Very strange....but I guess it has a lot to do with the group you are in. I look forward to seeing them all and have a chat. When I used to do WW I didn't connect with my group and my leader at all....I think that was one of the main reasons I gave up. Group support is very important.
|
Good morning fellow slimmers....hope you all had a good weekend and stayed on the plan. I stayed on...well most of the time...we are renovating, so I had a well earned cider on saturday and sunday night. Other than that I didn't syn too much.
|
Well, Saturday night was a blowout for me, having been really good all week I ending up having a chicken mixed kebab, chips and several whisky and coke zeros, am now trying to earn back my syns lol. Feeling good in myself and can't wait to weigh in.
|
Hmm I'm very hungry today, not sure why but I want to snack. At least there's nothing in the office I can get my hands on. Its definatly hunger not just snakky mood.
|
Yeh, I have those days as well....when i could eat half a cow lol.....the hard thing is to snack on syn free snacks instead of all the good stuff that u actually want to snack....maybe the synfree crisps are an idea?
|
ooh there are sinfree crisps? where? how? hehe

SW forum
Hi guys, I used to be a slimming world consultant and am 99% sure that SW won't allow a forum again, this is because they don't want to lose control, the SW plan is very good and I can honestly say it works but SW won't let anyone do anything that they don't agree with, I think that this website is fantastic and you'll all probably best sticking to this.
Little tip for you all, Not having your daily sins doesn't make any difference to your weight loss! if anything it can slow you down ! Something that is well hidden for some strange reason is that if you are 15 and over stone you can eat up to 25 syns a day! close to fifteen up to 20, and closer to 13 then fifteen, I honestly found that this did not make any difference! Hope this helps? |
Thanks, it does help, I'm sticking to around 10 syns a day at the moment, that seems to be a good place for me to be, especially seeing as muller light yoghut is a free food, it has to be the tastiest free food there is hehe.
This forum is great for support, I joined a couple of yahoo slimming world groups but I really don't like the layout of them. Its so good to meet people in a simelar situation. |
they used to do a chocolate mullerlight, God that was Fabulous !!
|
I'm liking the toffee one mmmmm
|
The one thing that my old members swore worked were tinned tomatoes! have them on scan bran and you will see a good loss
|
Hi Cazie, thanks for the good advise. I too stick around 10 syns, and it seems to work for me. Eventho 20 sounds tempting, I'm going to try to stick to my 10.
I have to agree, muller light is the best. dont like the toffe tho, its too sweet. I do love the vanilla one, usually pour it over my strawberries..mmmhhhh as close to custard as it gets..... Xenical, what is it, how does it work, where do u get it? |
Hi, Xenical is a prescription based pill, the doctor prescribes it and I have monthly check ups, it disperses fat basically, if you eat too much fat it throws it out your body, so far I have found it to be good, I have had no side effects as yet (eg: toilet), It just makes you watch what the amount of fat you eat, it's like having a slimming world consultant with you 24 / 7, I am still doing basically the slimming world plan but on my own, my mum lost loads of weight with is last year, I think you have to be over a certain BMI before the doctors will prescribe it, you seem to be similar weight and height to me though, I hope this helps?

Hi all
thought I'd drop in to see how everyone is - love all the good vibes and advice on this thread -it's great!
Moonchild - a llb loss is fab - i love the weeks where i lose a llb - at first i thought it was rubbish and I should lose at least 3lbs a week but then after a few llb weeks they became my friend - they really start to add up and it feels more on an even keel - well for me anyway! Just spent the weekend camping in the Lakes-not too much rain so got out for a few walks but alas ate the same as everyone else - ie bacon butties etc but used frylight lol - lets hope I can pull it all back before weigh in on Wednesday! |
Morning all,
Helen, I've posted the recipe earlier somewhere, but u basicly take some lasagne sheets, boil them for 3-5 mins. In the meantime cover a baking tray with foil and spray it with frylight. then cut the lasagnesheets in triangles and put them on the tray. Spray them with frylight, season with whatever season you prefer and put it in the oven at around 220C until golden. Be careful tho, cause they burn quickly, you really have to watch them. It's a bit of work, but its well worth it. I usually have them with salsa or a fromage frais dip. Cazie, thanks for the info....might have a word with my doc the next time I'm there. Bubbly, you're right, 1lb a week does sum up, thats why I wasn't too crushed. Even a wee loss is a loss. Looks like you had a nice weekend there....and at least you made an attempt with the fry light there lol. Just jump back on the wagon and you will be fine...if not this week, next week will show. I've made something absolutely easy and delicious last night and thought I'd share it with you. Took some small baby potatoes, washed them, put them on a baking tray, sprayed with frylight, sprinkled seasalt, and different herbs and spices on top and put it in the oven for 30 mins together with some summer roasted veg (from tesco), which i sprayed with frylight as well. Grilled some chicken with lots of spices and had it all together with a bit of sweet chilli sauce (I LOVE SC sauce). It was a feast...and didn't feel like 'diet food' if you know what I mean....yuuummmy! |
OOh I'll have to try those lasagne crisps sometimes, thanks. Thank dinner sounds lovely, I made myself a gorgeous free pasta bake last night and enjoyed every minute of it. I find it so hard to convince myself that I'll lose weight on something so tasty lol.
Weigh in 2 days!! |
how did u make ur pasta bake, cause thats what im planning on doing tonight.....
|
Let me think, I cooked my pasta (enough for 2 meals), until it was just becoming soft, but not soggy. In another pan I had a tin of chopped tomatos, chopped button mushrooms, onions, and cooked it till it was bubbling. I let in simmer for 5 -10 mins with some worcester sauce, basil, mixed herbs and garlic. After it'd simmered I tipped it all into an oven proof dish, mixed it all up and sprinkled chesse on top (out of my healthy extra), I sprinkled basil on top too. I baked it on number 6 I think for maybe 30 mins.
It was yummy, and I ate the 2nd half for my lunch today. Its funny until I started slimming world my husband did all the cooking, but now I cook and I find I'm getting the confidence to create lots of new things and to try new recipies. |
mmmmmh sounds good....I was thinking of using just a normal dolmio sauce cause I dont have much time tonight, which is 14 syns for a 500g glass, and it will make about 4 servings, so that shouldnt be too bad, but your version sounds good as well........
|
Yeah it didn't take too long, but if you're in a rush might be best to save it for another time. I'm not sure what to have tonight, I'm on a green day. That dolmio bake is yummy, but I have to eat it with garlic bread so I'm not going there hehe.
|
What do you think about making a slimming world recipe thread where we can share ideas? The recipes seem to get lost in this thread, I don't mind starting one but I wanted to check if people would use it first.
|
Morning fellow slimmers,
The recipe thread already exists: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...+world+recipes I remembered it, cause when I searched for recipes on Google, this one came up and thats how I found this forum. Had the Dolmio Pasta Bake last night, was yummy, used 2 A choices of Light cheddar on top of it....veery nice. Planning on making a chicken curry tonight, using the mayflower curry sauce.....cant wait lol.... |
OOh thanks for the link I'm glad that we've got a thread already, I'll get searching it. I'm really enjoying the challenge of cooking hehe. Make a nice pasta dish last night, I used the same basic recipie as I used for the pasta bake but basically made it pasta in sauce. Yummy!
It sounds silly but I'm struggling at the moment to eat up to 10 syns, usually I'm around 5, and that's not with me going hungry, do you think that's ok? I think we're going to have gammon for dinner tonight, with lots of veggies and maybe new potatoes as a syn. I find I have more original days than green days, even though I love green days for unlimited pasta, I'm a pasta fiend lol. |
Sounds nice....I love pasta! Could eat it every day, but I think my other half would protest at some point lol. He really loves the stirfrys I make tho, which is good, cause they are virtually syn free.
I usually don't eat all my 10 syns during the week, cause I know that I need more syns during the weekend. But I think it's absolutely ok to stick around 5 syns....the only problem I see with this is that if you use more syns the next week, you might not have a good loss. You can use the new potatoes as a HEB choice, as long as they are in their skin..... |
syns
;) Hi all, I honestly didn't see much difference with having more syns or not, If you can only manage 5 - 10 syns a day then don't push yourself, sometimes you find you could be having more and not realising it anyway, this can be with milk in your tea or coffee? not weighing things properly and just guessing syn values, it's really easy to do anyway.
|
Morning all,
It's weigh in day! I have absolutely no indication of how I've done this week, since I've been lazy and haven't been to the gym and didn't weight. Looking at my little book of horrors (my food journal) it seems that I've done ok....but I guess tonight will show. I really need to go back to the gym, but I've been working 8 to 5 this week and by the time I'm home and cooked dinner we usually cant be bothered anymore. Next week I'm on 7 to 4 again, then I will just go directly after work again. I've made a chicken curry last night with the Mayflower curry sauce....It was absolutely delicious. Even my other half tucked in like theres no tomorrow lol.... |
I'm down 2 pounds this week, pretty pleased with myself as I at time at badly, and didn't exercise as much as I should. Two pounds is a good amount to lsoe hehe.
Hmm all this take of curry is making me hungry! |
Oh Helen, 2lb off, thats fab!!!! I'm well pleased for you.
I know about the excersise part....I have been conveniently blanking out the gym alltogether the last couple of weeks. Stupid really, cause when I went to the gym regularly the week before, I've lost 3lb.....I do need to go back, I do need to go back, I do need to go back..... My weighin is tonight, so I'll let you know tomorrow mornign.... |
Good luck Moonchild.
I think I'm going to set myself a target of exercise in a week or month, not sure yet, I think it might help me, setting targets that I can achieve like that usually do. Isn't it funny how we know that exercise will get it off quicker but we still don't do it as much as we should. I'm thinking about what to do at the weekend, I really want to spoil my husband, but I'm not sure what to plan, hmmm. Kept meaning to ask, do you have any of the Slimming World cook books, and if you do would you recommend any of them, I've been looking at the Fast Food one in our local bookshop, quick and tasy food sounds like a good idea to me. |
Exercise
Hi all
Hope everyone's Ok - thought I'd add my two penneth in re exercise! I so agree with you both - if I do some exercise I tend to lose the weight but I just hate it - I'm shattered working full time and looking after 2 kids and so exercise is the last thing on my mind - I keep waiting for this illusive buzz that other people talk about - so illusive in my case it's non existent !! The cross trainer has landed at mine - I've even put it up and had a go a couple of times - crikey that made me sweat lol But I did lose 3 lbs this week so I really should see that as an incentive but I just can't keep it up!! |
Morning all,
Wasn't at work on Friday, so couldn't post....so here is my wee catchup from last Thursday. My weighin wasn't great, didn't loose anything, and was rather dissappointed, cause I kinda expected to loose. But oh well. Not sure if I will loose this week, cause I ate so much bad stuff over the weekend it's not even funny. But I'm back on track today, and as of tomorrow I'm back to the gym as well. So Helen, did u spoil ur hubby this weekend? I went to IKEA on Friday to get our bedsite tables and chested drawers and built it all. Finished just before my other half got in, was a nice surprise..... Bubbly, I agree, I keep waiting for the buzz, but it's never there....weird...but good for you on ur 3lb loss...thats great. |
Not a great weekend today for me both generally and eating. On Friday Chris (hubby) came off his motorbike into a traffic light pole, he's ok, but we spent 7 hours on Friday night in A&E getting him x-rayed etc. He's back in work today, and recovering slowly.
Saturday I decided to plumb in a dishwasher which we'd been given, it now is plumbed in and working but it was a big job, took me all day. I was a bit nervous cutting the pipes etc, but it was fine, and now I have a dishwasher!!! I really tired, after and because of the mess in the kitchen all day we ended up with a chinese takeaway. Sunday was much better and I managed to stick to my eating plan, spent the day starting 24 season 5, which looks great, and chilling out. I'm back in work today, feeling really tired but ok. Let's hope my eating goes well this week, and I get back into my exercise. |
Oh I'm glad that Chris is ok....can imagine that that wasnt a great start for your weekend. But well done you about your dishwasher, seems like we both have been doing our shareof diy'ing this weekend lol....
I'm really tired as well. Took the day off on Friday to relax a bit, but ended up running around like a headless chicken......Oh well, Friday is my last day and then I'm off for a fortnight. Really going to stick to the plan this week, cause my minigoal seems to be dissapearing....just need to get my determination back...but its the week before my time of the month, and I'm always a bit less enthusiastic then lol... |
Urgh I have the time of month, and mine's coming up soon too. I love doing DIY, I rang my mum up and told her what I'd done, her and my dad couldnt believe it, and were well impressed that I could do something like that.
Right I'm filling my face with melon at the moment yummy! |
lol, i;ll have melon as desert later......got a nice big salad right now...verrrry nice...
|
So far this week I'm doing fine, I am sticking to my plan, and this morning I got up and exercised. Feeling pretty good and pleased with myself. Got my TOM this morning though which explains why I was in such a bad mood yesterday, hehe.
How you all doing? |
Wish I could say the same for me. My day was ok foodwise until I got home. Had a small bag of crisps and a spoonful of Nutella. Felt horrible afterwards, but seemed like a good idea at the time. Grrrr, it's just annoying me that I keep sabotaging myself....I hate hormones.......
|
The thing I always remember that tends to help is that TOM lasts a week maximum, that's 3 weeks without it!! You can do it Moonchild, I know you can :)
|
Yeh, however the week before TOM is not the easiest either......so that leaves 2 weeks lol......
