Ha ha that's so funny.

I gained 1/2 pound!!!! I can't believe it.!!! I walked to slimming world in the rain in long trousers, so I think it was all the water in my jeans that made me weigh heavy :)

In fact half of us had a gain last night!!!

veggie 05-10-2007 07:31 AM

 Should of took them off Kyk. ;) :D

Sorry to hear you had a gain - did you wear long trousers at your first weigh in? I must admit I always wear the same skirt for weigh ins as I have a couple of skirts that feel very heavy and trousers even more so! (I know...I'm obsessing:o ) It's such a boost when you get weighed and you've lost - try and wear the same skirt or trousers each week for consistency. The man in front of me in the weigh in queue on Tuesday evening said he normally wears his shoes on the scales, but the ones he had on felt heavier than normal so he took them off and got slimmer of the week with a 4.5lb loss (he weighed the shoes and they weighed 2lb!!) Clothes make a difference!

It's also possible that as you are new to SW you may have slipped up on the Original/green/syns. If you kept a food diary the person who runs your group should really have gone through it with you to make sure you were on track and to explain any bits you were confused about. If they didn't or if you didn't keep a diary - try keeping one this week (just in case) and you can have it checked next week if you don't have a fab weight loss!

Don't be disheartened hon, keep with the programme and I'm sure you'll have a good loss next week. love ff x

Homersmummy 05-12-2007 08:14 AM

Considering the stuff I was eating, I think it was good too hehe!
Well, I lost 4lb this week too... so I have now lost my holiday gain, plus half a pound. YAY! :D Phewww, back in the 18st bracket. :carrot:
Mind, I was determined to get back to where I was before the holiday, so I was strict as!

Hi Homersmummy  I think you did really well to only put on 7 lbs on holiday and REALLY well to lose 4 lbs of that since coming back! We are all entitled to forget our diets on holiday - I plan to do just that in less than 3 weeks time :D It won't take you 6 months to get that other 3lbs off - 1 or 2 weeks and then you will be back on track again! Good luck.

I wear the same every weigh in too. Thin light jogging bottoms and a small light thin t-shirt... so I know i'm weighing true every week and not gaining or losing because of my difference in clothes.

Well don Homersmummy :D it's a lovely feeling to get back into one of the stone brackets. I am so close to the lower end of the 16 stone bracket now (16st 4)- it's positively exciting when I get on the scales :dizzy: I started out my weight loss journey at 19 st 12 and I can't remember the last time I was 16 stone anything!! And hopefully - soon I'll be 15 stone something - woohoo :carrot: love ff x

It's good to know I'm not the only obsessive compulsive :D

Cor............you've done well!

Got out of the diet mode at the moment, I think boredom has set in (yet again!) I am trying really hard, but can't seem to follow the diet 100% and I was so positive last week :(

Weigh in again tomorrow, so wish me luck! :^:

Geministar 05-14-2007 12:08 PM

Hello People! SW is going swimmingly! Weighed myself yesterday and it looks like I've already lost 3lbs!! I've been following mix to match mostly and I'm really really enjoying it:carrot:

I've decided that I really hate those small 400g loafs of wholemeal bread and I wanted to start eating the normal medium sliced loaves and syn the extra. My question is, how many syns will it be minus one healthy extra to have two medium slices of wholemeal bread?

Thanx!

Good luck Antari - hope you get back on track hon - have you tried experimenting with some syn free recipes..it might help?

Sorry geministar...I don't have my book handy ... I thought it listed all bread in there!? Also could you not pop the details into the online syns search? Good luck love ff x

Antari 05-15-2007 10:54 AM

Well lost 2 1/2lbs :carrot:

I am obviously eating better than I thought and any naughties are within the syns for the day or week! Other than that I have lost a leg and not noticed ;)

I have had a few G & T's this weekend, but no syns on other days so I really have to write down EVERYTHING this week, no excuses.

Well done on the 2.5 lb loss! Me too :D I keep a food diary every week - I'm sure that's what helps to keep me on track (that and the fact that I'm getting married on Sunday :D ) love ff x p.s. no time to update tracker today!

scottie 05-17-2007 09:16 AM

i got weighed on Tuesday and i maintained not so bad as i was out for an indian meal over the weekend i have 10 pounds to go to get to target and i am struggling i have a night out to got to this weekend so this 10 is going to take forever to get off am trying to get motivated the rest of the week and be extra good maybe then ill get results :o ...... i laughed when i read about the clothes to get weighed in as most weeks i try to wear the same outfit so i know that my weight change has nothing to do with my clothes crazy i know lmao......

Antari 05-23-2007 10:46 AM

Weighed in yesterday and put on 2lbs! Was ill all last week with the 'flu and taking cough medicine, but I was also very lax in keeping to the diet and not keeping a diary which I have done on line since I started. So, keeping it again from today and hoping the weight comes off as quickly as it went on

New yin

Hi all ,

I've started SW a few weeks back. Before that I did WW and lost nearly a stone. Unfortunately I gained half of it again and started SW with 16st7lb. I have been attending the meetings twice so far and lost only 1lb, but thats due to me not sticking to it.

At the moment the inlaws are still living with us, so sticking to a diet is a bit difficult. But I am well determined and by next week we should have the house to ourselves and then I have no excuses :nono:.

My meetings are on Thursdays, so I shall know by tomorrow if I've lost anything this week or not. Eventho I doubt it, since I've been a bit naughty last weekend :hungry:.

So for this week I will sprinkle :dust: and hope for a better week.

Moonchild :yoga:

Hi all, i've not been about for a while.....I'm still doing ok seem to be loosing less each week now which i'm fine about the past couple of weeks i've lost 2lb which makes it 3 stone 10lb:carrot: I would love to have one of my big weight loses like I have done in previous weeks and get to 4 stone next week. I've started a body conditioning class :exercise: which is going well I was a nitemare to start with going the wrong way and bumping into people :o...still got a long way to go with my weight loss journey but I feel so much better already less tired and more confident:D.
Its great to read everyones comments on here well done to u all all have a great LONG weekend :grouphug:

Moonchild 05-25-2007 02:30 AM

:carrot: Went to my meeting last night and...wait for it...wait for it....lost 2lb......wooohhaaaa .

To be honest I was quiet surprised, cause last week after the meeting I went home and had a chicken curry (homepride) with rice and a naan bread. Saturday I went to TGI's and Sunday I had a Chinese....Imagine what I could have lost if I didnt have all that! So this week I'm going to be a goooooood girl (well at least I'm going to try)

Piglet H 05-25-2007 09:10 AM

Hiya Moonchild

Well done you!! Thats brill. :D I dont want to put a dampener on your achievement but try and be good this week and drink plenty of water cause I've had this happen to me before and it caught up with me the following week. Hopefully this wont happen to you.:) I need to get my act together cos I've lost nothing! :snail:

Moonchild 05-25-2007 10:40 AM

Yeh, that happend to me before....the week I was naughty I've lost a pound and the week after I didn't loose, eventho I was a good girl....but well, Im positive I'll make this weekend without messing up to much, also because I am working tomorrow, and being at work keeps me more focused......

Moonchild 05-26-2007 04:12 AM

Willpower? I don't seem to have it! :(...after getting the "great" news that the inlaws can't move for another month (at least) and having a night in a huff (but still being a good girl) I went to Tesco this morning before work and bought the following:

- Quiche Lorraine...Healthy Living
- Hoisin Duck Wrap
- a bag of crisps

Coming to work and checking the syn value I nearly :faint: . I also bought a whole lot of fruit and still have a baked potato here at work and some sweetcorn. So with good luck I will make it through the day without touching all these bad things. I still feel like crying tho, because I just went in there and deliberately bought all these naughty things and sabotaging myself.

Well thats me done ranting for now,,,feeling a lot better already :crossed:

Moonchild 05-26-2007 11:23 AM

Well here I am again (seems I'm talking to myself), but just a wee update.

It is 4pm, my shift is nearly over and so far I have managed not to open the bag of crisps and also haven't touched the Quiche!!!!! I have had the duck wrap, but counted that as HE and a wee syn for the sauce. I'm rather pleased with myself, and I think ranting on here this morning helped. :cheer2:

So I'm off for the weekend, under supervision of my other half. Have a good one and stay focused :bubbles:

Bubbly 05-26-2007 04:16 PM

Hi all

Hiya

What a fantastic forum! I've been searching all over for you guys! I will have been at SW for a year in June. I'm just about at a 3 1/2 stone loss - which is fab. I started at 20st 5 and am now in the 16s - only just mind at 16st 13 - but in I am.

Its not been easy - but I've slogged at it with good losses - wee losses and gains! If you read the magazine they all make it sound a breeze! But it is working - for me its the group - we sit and chat and really support each other. The leader - for all she does - might as well not be there - to be honest she doesn't really get it - she can cope with who's lost - who's gained - anything deeper than that and it's over her head!

But certain people in the group are my lifeline and thats what keeps me going when it gets tough. the fact that i can now ramble on in a forum as well...well what a dream!

So keep going guys - whether its a 1lb or 4lb off - it doesn't matter - just keep going and we'll all get there
:bubbles:

Moonchild 05-29-2007 02:54 AM

Hi Bubbly,
In the 16s, wow, good for you!!! To me this seems a long time away, but as u said, we'll get there in the end. Looking forward to your ramblings (as you can see I had my fair share of rambling this weekend).

Bubbly 06-01-2007 05:29 AM

Spoke too soon!!

Well I was in the 16's but went to get weighed this week and put on a pound so now 17 again!! Doh!!

Strange tho as lots put on this week - may be something to do with being off at half term with the kids or maybe the scales were wrong!!!

Conspiracy theories abound!

Trouble is when I do put on - as I'm sure most of us do occasionally - it doesn'tmake me think 'Right Come on girl!!' It just makes me go all wobbly and off the rails a bit. The last two nights i've been a nightmare - i know I'm doing it and somehow I just justify it to myself - I pretend it's my choice to eat those crisps - after all i deserve then I'm a single mum who works full time - its now 9pm and this is my treat time!

I'm not dim - I know what I'm doing - and I know I need to find other treats and rewards - just haven't found anything yet that meets the need more than food - food is the habitual reward. And I guess thats the bit the SW group doesn't address - lots of tips on healthy eating and ideas etc but when it comes down to actual changing how I think - it comes a bit unstook.

Has anyone actually got over this bit - any tips/ ideas/help!..... anything at all?

lou1978 06-01-2007 05:35 AM

back to it last week after a break.. 5lb off woo hoo..

lou1978 06-01-2007 05:36 AM

as for treat time.. maybe save ur syns for in the evening.. eat free all day then u can have treats....

Moonchild 06-01-2007 10:27 AM

I've lost a pound this week,,,hoooraaaayyyyyyy

Moonchild 06-03-2007 06:19 AM

Hey Bubbly,

have you tried alternative treats? If u fancy crisps, just make crisps from lasagne sheets, make a syn free salsa and u can eat away...i'm loving them, eventho i burn 1 out of 2 trays lol.....

If you are more of the choc type, make some low syn rochers.....with ryvita and nutella, they are only 1syn each and scrummy....

thats just a wee quick fix.....I know it is hard sometimes, I do the same. Telling myself that I deserve it, that I will make it up in the next few days.....but it never works....what I find helps is to write it all down...if not in a forum, write a diary, speak to ur best friend or just call someone that understands where ur coming from.....

lou1978 06-03-2007 09:13 AM

how do u make lasagne crisps?? !

Moonchild 06-03-2007 09:21 AM

It's suuuuper easy....get some lasagne sheets and parboil them for 2-3 mins (i do a couple a time in the water otherwise they stick together). Take them out, cut into triangles. Spray a baking tray with Frylight and place the triangles on top. Spray with Frylight again and salt lightly (or whichever spice you prefer). Put into a preheated oven on high temp. You DO need to WATCH them tho, cause they burn rather quickly. Take them out and enjoy with synfree salsa or any other low syn dip....they are fantastic!

lou1978 06-03-2007 10:38 AM

ooo i might have a go at them!....

Bubbly 06-03-2007 05:42 PM

Ooh thats my idea of support!!

Crisps are the downfall for me Moonchild so that sounds fantastic - i am definately going to give it a go.

A lot of the time I find I just have to think really positively and just say no -its not worth it - very hard sometimes and also i think that I need to have a 'normal' relationship with food! Slim people would not deny themselves a bag of crisps if they wanted one ...but then neither would they then go on to eat another 3 bags!!

You're right about writing things down and planning-planning-planning. I was sooo good on Saturday - got all the SW mags out and picked a load of lovely recipees- drew up a menu plan for the week and then a shopping list and off to ASDA I went.

Bumped into the SW consultant in one of the ailses and didn't have to hide anything in the trolley so felt virtuous!

Also spent last night with another 1299 women doing a 9 mile Moonlight walk for a local hospice and just reading the reasons why women do this makes you realise that life is very short and we ned to grab all opportunities that come along - thats opportunites NOT cream cakes.

So off to bed to nurse my blisters and to stop me having a biccie lol.

Lasagne crisps will be on the agenda tomorrow tho.

Night all x

Moonchild 06-04-2007 01:56 AM

Bubbly well done on your walk, I bet you felt well pleased with yourself afterwards (ok, besides the blisters, hurting knees and legs and the urge to dig a hole).

And wow what a great day you must have had on saturday, well chuffed running into your SW consultant...thats excellent. Little things like that give you a boost....however they are still no comparison to a nice bag of crisps lol....

The weekends I usually do my planning as well, get all my mags out, get recipes and then get it all together and try to plan my week. Did lots of pre-cooking last night. Made pork-meatballs with a lovely yoghurt dip and also a leek-potato soup for tomorrow lunch time....the rest I'll put in the freezer. Afterwards my darling ran me a bath and I could finally chill out.

Schmoo2505 06-08-2007 11:36 AM

Newbie here!

Hi Folks!

Just found this forum  I've been at SW since March and have lost 12lbs (I had 5 weeks off in the middle!).

Looking forward to reading the hints and tips - lasagne crisps? WOW! My leader makes microwave crisps which come out really well - need to try them myself though! Also the quiche recipe is pretty good - especially if you put a HE portion of grated cheese over the top before you cook it!

Look forward to 'meeting' you all!

Sarah

Moonchild 06-11-2007 08:01 AM

Hi Schmoo,

Welcome to the Forum. I'm sure you can find a lot of useful hints here. I'm on here everyday and learn something new everyday.

I have something to admit tho, after loosing 2 weeks after each other, this week might be my downfall. Why? I had a curry yesterday...and ate a whole nanbread . I could kick myself....I'm trying to be good for the rest of the week, so hopefully I haven't gained anything

Moonchild 06-13-2007 11:29 AM

Hellloooooooo? Echoooooooo? Where is everyone? :dunno:

It's been really quiet here lately, did you all fall off the wagon? :club:

Got my meeting tomorrow and I'm dreading it a bit...since I had a curry on sunday, and instead of being a good girl and having rice, I had a whole nan by myself.....last week I couldn't wait to get on the scales, this week I don't even want to go. But I promised myself to be a good girl this weekend. Only problem is.....it's fathers day on Sunday and we are taking the inlaws out. :hungry:

Does anyone else feel that the weekends are more difficult to stick? Is it due to the lack of routine?

Bubbly 06-14-2007 02:31 PM

Still battling on!!

Hi all

Still here - just been struggling a bit the last few weeks - I've lost and gained the same blooming pound a few times but .... booked the holiday now - 8 weeks to go!!!

Kids, bless em, have labelled the biccy tin and crisp cupboard with notes strongly advising against pigging out - really want to get to 16 stone before I go so gotta get my head round this.

I'm back under 17 again and do feel alot more positive this week - that is after a visit to Cadburys World on Sunday tho tut tut!!

But one of the girls from the club brought in some clothes she doesn't fit into anymore last night and I managed to pilfer a few snazzy tops and a couple of pairs of trousers - all in much lower sizes than I normally wear - and today at work got a few comments about my weight loss so ultra positive.

God I hope I actually7 keep this positivity up!! lol :dizzy:

Moonchild 06-15-2007 05:21 AM

Oh Bubbly good for you, back in the 17's :carrot:. I wish I was there....hit my 18st mark last week, so I actually hoped to be in the 17's as well this week, but do to lack of willpower (red wine, curry, nan during the weekend) I stayed the same. But well, I suppose it's better than a weighgain, so I'm not too dissappointed.

So off I go to being good, writing my journal and generally trying not to syn too much this weekend. :)

gemgems 06-15-2007 07:47 AM

Hello I am new to this forum and thought I would come on here and introduce myself.

I have been doing Slimming World since January this year and have lost 2 1/2 stone so far with another 4 stone to lose. Had a couple of weeks where I have gained or stayed the same but am 100% focused now so I expect a good loss on Tuesday morning!

I am 28 years old and live in Essex with my husband and 11 month old daughter.

Erm think thats about it!
