Hi Gem,

Wow thats a great loss in 6 months, well done! I wish I could stay as focused, but I've must have been absent when willpower was given out....cause I don't seem to have it. Well I'm sure you will like this forum, you can get lots of ideas here and support.

Bubbly 06-16-2007 12:22 PM

Will Power...is that an actor???

Crikey if only there was a little bottleof the stuff - everyone knows you need it but ooohh it can be in short supply!

I've dragged the kids out this afters tromping through fields ...quite a bit of moaning from them but the lure of pizza for te for them was enough to do it - before you ask I'm NOt having pizza - i've got all the ingredients in to make a fab stir fry with some tiger prawns .... then we're having a girly night with face masks and painting nails!!

Moonchild - your maintain was definately as good as a loss - oohh I dream about naan bread and curries - love em! So have a fab week this week and you'll be in the 17s - we can do it! Slow but sure!

fighting flab 06-16-2007 02:31 PM

Home again!

Hi all, sounds like people are doing well around here. I've not been on the forum for about 3 weeks...I got married and had a two week honeymoon in Canada :D We had such a wonderful time and really didn't want to come back at all. I must admit I didn't stick to the diet much but we did so much walking and sightseeing that it sort of ballanced out as when I went to get weighed this week I lost 1 lb :carrot: (to be honest, I expected to put on a few lbs :o )

Anyway, after a couple of bad days due mainly to laziness re shopping after the hols and mum unexpectedly ending up in hospital (she's out now but got to go back in next week for an op :( ) I just ate all the wrong things and didn't go to the gym. But from today I'm back on track. Feeling more positive. Some of that willpower dust must have fallen on me ;)

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend.
Love ff x

Schmoo2505 06-16-2007 08:02 PM

Hey ff!

We went to Canada on our honeymoon too! We did the Alaska Cruise and had a week in Vancouver afterwards. We went back again last year and had 3 weeks touring the Rockies, visiting Vancouver Island and staying in Vancouver visiting the friends we made on the cruise. Sounds like you had a great time!

Good luck with getting back on track!

Sarah x

Moonchild 06-17-2007 01:54 AM

Good Morning all,

Its Sunday 6.51am and where am I? At work!!!! This is my last day in my 7 day shift and boy I cant wait to get outta here tonite.

Bubbly....Pizza mmmmmmh thats definetley my downfall. I really have to watch out. Going out with the inlaws tonight to DiMaggio's and I absolutely adore their Pizza. Had a good talk in our group tho on Thursday about the different choices on restaurant menus. Was quit surprised about some of the things...synwise that is. So I'm going to try to stick to breaded mushrooms tonight and some pasta......

FF....well congratulations! And coming back from your honeymoon and you lost? Well done! And look at your wee tracker, your over half way there, I wish I was that far along.....

Well, I'm off to taking my dear customer calls now. Have a great Sunday all....

fighting flab 06-17-2007 03:45 PM

Hi Sarah, You lucky thing..we want to go back to Canada again but it will take a while...the honeymoon cost a bomb!! But it was worth every penny! Your second trip sounds more like ours - we started out in Vancouver (during which we took a float plane trip over to Vanouver Island), took the Rocky Mountaineer train to Jasper, and then on to Banff. Bliss...:cloud9:

Hi Moonchild, sorry you've had to work today, I'm lucky I only do Mon to Fri. My tracker makes me happy every time I look at it - it was such a big thing for me when I passed the half way point and the amount I had left to lose was finally less than the amount I had lost :D Don't worry Moonchild - you're making great progress - you'll get there

I confess to being a serial weigher - can't get out of the habit - and when I popped on the scales this am I was tipping into the top of the 15 stones!!!!!!!! It's years and years and years since I've been anywhere near the 15s. I'm sooooo pleased. I burned some calories dancing round the bathroom :carrot: :broc: :dancer: :cb:

Moonchild 06-20-2007 08:38 AM

I was off the last two days....so well done ff :carrot:

I have to admit I completeley fell off the wagon yesterday. Was really frustrated and had a Macaroni pie in town. Then I had a bag of crisps and a wrap when I got home and to top it off a piece of chocolate. I was so disgusted with myself last night. :(. I want to loose the weight, I've been busy for ages and I just don't get anywhere. Everyone is loosing leftrightandcenter, and I just cant get myself to have the willpower....whats wrong with me?

It happens to us all - I have days when all I can think about is food and I just start eating and tell myself I don't care...but I do and afterwards I feel aweful. I've been a bit like that today - just reading your email made me feel hungry!! I don't understand my relationship with food - I never have really - I'm not hungry but I am really stressed and I know I "comfort eat" but surely knowing that I do it should make it easier to manage...but it doesn't of course. Just try and put it behind you and move on from the moment you realise what you've done. Don't say I'll start again tomorrow...the danger is you'll keep on eating tonight! Say, I'll start again right now and then you can feel better about yourself for your ability to turn it around rather than upsetting yourself about what you've eaten. Good luck hun and remember you are not alone. love ff x

Moonchild 06-21-2007 01:57 AM

I woke up this morning with a headache....havent really had one since I've started SW. I think it's from all the rubbish I ate in the last couple of days. FF you are right, I just have to start afresh today. I have my weighin tonight, and I dont think it will be a happy one lol. But just one more reason to be good and loose 4lb until my next meeting. My other half, bless him, was strict with me last night. There were some pancakes my motherinlaw bought and I really fancied them, but he just said....little pickers wear big nickers....and I know he's right. So I didnt have them, brushed my teeth and that was that. Today (once my headache is gone) things will be better.

Thanks ff, reading your words this morning made me realise again that I'm not the only one struggling....xxxx

Crazybaby 06-21-2007 02:14 PM

Hi Everyone!

Just joined so thought i'd say hello!
Am struggling along with the Slimming World eating plan like you all, so it's great to find a forum dedicated to supporting each other!

Hope to chat and keep up with everyone along the way to our goals.
Mandy xx

fighting flab 06-21-2007 04:42 PM

Welcome Mandy, this is a good place to hang out for support when you are struggling but it's also good when you are sailing through - you can help the rest of us! :D

Anyway - good luck with your weight loss journey. Love ff x

Moonchild 06-22-2007 01:45 AM

Welcome crazybaby....I'm sure you'll find good support on this site and lots of good ideas.

Well I had my meeting last night and guess what? I maintained my weight! The scale was even jumping between 17st13.5 and 18....woohooo, and that after all the synning I've done over the last few days. I'm sooooooo relieved! Another reason to get back on the bandwagon. So I made myself a nice big fritata for lunch today, it looks yummie and it's really hard not to nibble on it yet.

Well done on the maintenance Moonchild...AND you're tipping into the 17stones :D

What's a fritata and if it's so yummie could you please post the recipe and how many syns etc. I'm trying to liven up my diet at the moment...I'm eating too much of the same stuff and starting to get bored and so I'm eating more :( love ff x

Crazybaby 06-23-2007 05:05 PM

Thanx everyone for the warm welcome :)
Have just enjoyed Asda veggie burgers (gorgeous), quorn sausage, SW chips & baked beans for me tea...it was yum! And not a syn in sight! Hold on...i can feel me halo slipping lol.
Anyway the scales will tell on Tuesday.
The hardest part for me is when my daughter (who works part time in between college at a bakers shop) brings home freebies....fresh bread, cakes etc. THATS when the real test of will power comes in!

Bubbly 06-24-2007 09:23 AM

Checkin' In

Hi all

Sounds like evryones doing Ok - just stick in there - i think we have to accept that we're gonna go off the rails at some points in life because that's normal- thats what people do...they just don't then get all guilty and continue eating the house!!

Thats all the preamble to the fact that I've had an illicit affair with Pizza Hut and the Chinese this week so far!!! Whoops!!

But I have upped the exercise to doing at least an hours walking each day so with any luck I may get away with it at weigh in on Wed. I'll be ultra good from now on!!

so keep up the battle girls - and eventaully we'll get there x:dizzy:

Moonchild 06-25-2007 11:32 AM

Well a fritata is a bit like an omelette. The way I did mine....absolutely syn free on a green day, you can mix up the ingredients. What I used in mine:
1 sliced (cooked) bake potato (or some leftover potatoes)
some leftover pasta (I used Penne)
3 Eggs
some milk and some fromage frais
1 red chilli
Lots of different spices to taste

Spray pan with frylight and fry the potatoes and pasta for a few minutes to make them a bit crisp. Mix the egg with some milk and fromage frais and pour over the potato pasta mix. Let it set on medium heat for a few minutes until the bottom is to your liking. spice it to your liking and put under the grill....done! I 've also tried it with 42g LF cheddar before putting it under the grill and its scruuuummmyyyyy!!!! I just took it to work and warmed it up in the microwave...can also be eaten cold.

I've been to the gym everyday since friday and feel great. I've just been way too lazy the last couple of weeks. I hope the scales will show it on Thursday....

Bubbly 06-25-2007 04:40 PM

Ooh sounds great!

Fab thanks Moonchild -i've been looking for this recipee for a while - keep buying fromage frais and never actually using it lol!!!

I'm going to do that for tea tomorrow night with beans - think the kids will go for it!

i've tried tonight the Ainsley Harriet Couscous - morroccon flavour tonight -added in lots of chopped toms, mush, peppers, courgettes and it was absolutely delicious.

Free on green - I also added in a couple of bits of tika chicken fillets - chopped up (sainsburys) -but would be as good without.

it amazes me how much I actually prefer this type of food but then still binge out on crisps and biccies when I'm possessed- bizarre!

:?:

Moonchild 06-26-2007 09:19 AM

Hey Bubbly, let me know how u like it. I'm not using much fromage, just a tablespoon or so.

You're right, I enjoy lots of SW food to no end (synfree chips, synfree crisps, homemade rochers) but then again fall of the wagon and eat absolute crap....human minds work strange....

crazy helen 06-28-2007 03:56 AM

I'm thinking of giving the online Slimming World a try, the body optimise section, I realise I find it easier to stick to a eating plan than to just be counting my calories, so it looks like I'll be joining you girls here :)

Moonchild 06-28-2007 09:24 AM

Hey, good for you Helen, you're always welcome.

I got my weightin in a couple of hours....I'll keep you guys posted.....

Moonchild 06-28-2007 03:01 PM

Wow lou and miniemoo, weeeellll done!!!!! :bravo:

I was just writing my blog and decided to set myself a mini goal. My birthday is in 10 weeks from now. To get to 16st I would have to loose 25lb...which is 2.5lb in a week. :ebike: It's a lot, but even if I don't make it, I will be within the 16's. I don't even remember the last time I weight 16 stone....

Well, I'm going to make a minigoal tracker now and update my signature...that should keep me busy for the last hour at work.

lou1978 06-28-2007 04:33 PM

sounds like a gd plan... !

Bubbly 06-28-2007 05:32 PM

Wow Wee !!!

What a fantastic week everyone is having ...well done everyone.

Moonchild I also lost 3lbs this week -always throws me cos I don't do things wildly different from one week to the next but hey I'll take it!

The frittata was fab - was different to yours and I wasn't sure of quantities so as a well practised 'bung it' cook - thats what I did.

Did it with some bacon, mushrooms and shallots instead of the pasta - used a whole small tub of fromage frais but worked absolutely fine - Kids loved it - and thats the bonus for me - finding SW food that they will eat without batting an eye lid!!

So anymore kid friendly meals let me know - love trying them out - and if quick and easy all the better - we don't get in till 6pm each night - and many nights we're out - various kids social life ..not my own!!!

Moonchild 06-29-2007 02:12 PM

Bubbly, I'm glad you liked the fritatta....and that your kids liked it is even better. And well done you with your loss!!!!

I've had a really good week and planning to have a good weekend as well. Doing a lot of DIY as my inlaws FINALLY moved out....wooohoooo....well, you all have a lovely weekend, be good!

crazy helen 06-29-2007 05:11 PM

Wow well done on the losses that's great. I started my slimming world adventure today, with the online version, I think I'm doing ok, we did our food shopping today so that helped me to plan for next week (planning food is something I'm bad at).
One quick question, the online guide said to aim for between 10-15 syns, how many do you girls usually have?

Moonchild 07-02-2007 07:12 AM

I usually try to stick around 10 syns....

crazy helen 07-04-2007 03:52 AM

I'm really enjoying the slimming world programme, its the first healthy eating programme I have actually enjoyed and look forward to cooking. Its great to find all those healthy alternatives to eat. Hoping my hard work shows up when I weigh tomorrow, this programme has even got me exercising more which is really good. How's everyone else getting on?

Moonchild 07-04-2007 10:01 AM

hi helen,

this is true, I also look forward to trying out the different recipes, and most of them are surprisingly good. And the best part is that you rarely go hungry and the rest of the family can eat the same food...without even knowing that they are eating healthier....

I think I had a good week, and the scales tomorrow hopefully show exactly that......

Crazybaby 07-04-2007 01:22 PM

Hi All!

Well not posted for a couple of weeks, but lost half a pound last week...and put it on again this week!! :( Got my treadmill out yesterday tho, so gonna try stickin with it this week and get back on track. Have found a few more 'appetising' recipies online, so they might make things a bit more interesting.
I really fancied rice pudding today, so searched online and found an idea to just cook pudding rice and add it to a muller light vanilla yoghurt! How simple is that! Not tried it yet tho....saving it for when i get the munchies later while watching Big Brother!
Glad you're all doing so well. I'm aiming to get to 12 stone by christmas, so thats 2 stone to lose! Better get jogging!!

Bubbly 07-04-2007 04:44 PM

Hello all

Well weigh in was tonight and after a very strange weight loss of 3 lbs last week I put 1 of them back on but still an overall loss and after the amount of wine I consumed on a rainy Sunday afternoon this weekend - tis no real surprise.

So onwards again this week - like the idea of the rice pudding recipee - will try that. Also ordered a cross trainer today - well I need something to hang the washing on!!!

No honestly I'll use it - if I can work out how to put it together! If not flowers rather than chocolates please for the hospital visits!!

Wish me luck x

Aquiela 07-04-2007 05:08 PM

New 3FC member here :)

Hello everyone,

I'm Hazel and I'm soo pleased to have found this site! I'm from Cwmbran which is in Gwent, South Wales.

I've been at SW for almost a year and so far have lost 2st 11.5lbs.

I've had a few months of staying the same, losing a pound, putting the pound back on, but have knuckled down for the past fortnight and have lost a further 3.5 lbs which is fab!

I'm back on track now which is why I'm so pleased to have discovered the 3FC site - a quick browse has shown me some new recipes and ideas which I hope to try out!

Thanks for reading - hope to be joining in really soon!

Hazel

crazy helen 07-05-2007 05:40 AM

Hi Hazel, and a big welcome to you.

My weigh in today, I lost 6 pounds yay! its my first week on slimming world though. I'm so smiley today! :D

Moonchild 07-05-2007 06:46 AM

Bubbly, shame about the gain, but don''t let that get you down. Jump back on and I'm sure next week you'll be a loser again!!!

Aquiela, welcome to the club. It's a lovely wee forum and I'm enjoying coming on here on a daily basis.

And last but not least, Helen....WELL DONE you! 6lb thats fab! Congrats! I'm really pleased for your. I got my weigh in tonight, and I really hope that I've lost.....

crazy helen 07-05-2007 08:00 AM

Thank you Moonchild, I was really chuffed. I hope your weigh in goes well tonight, its such a good feeling to lose. I like how we weigh in on the same day, feels more like a community then :)

Moonchild 07-06-2007 02:17 AM

I've only lost a pound....but I'm not too upset about it. I have only been to the gym once this week, as compared to 3x last week...and I also had some garlic bread....But a wee loss is better than a gain.

And you're right it feels like a community.
