How's everyone!? I had a note from Lisa....she's back from her cruise and she said she ate everything in sight! Scared to get on the scales! Guess she's going to R-E-A-L-L-Y need our support this week!
Well...it was a HOG kinda weekend at our house! Yesterday was our monthly Harley chapter meeting along with a Kids 'n Cops event at the dealership. Lots of clowns, balloons and cute, CUTE cops on bikes doing skills stuff. Food was hot dogs and burgers...I had water. Good Girl. Passed on the cake after the meeting too! Then today was a Poker Run for a sister chapter, so you can guess what THAT means when it comes to food & drinks!!! I did pretty good at the buffet...didn't eat the 'tater salad or rolls...just the meat. 'Course it was a HOG event...so no salad or veggies on the menu...LOLOL I over-indulged a bit on the cocktails...had coffee w/ Frangelica and about 6 Jello-shots. No dinner for me tonight! Hope the scales move a bit tomorrow... I stuck with my Pilates all week...but missed today.
It's cold here in Central Florida today...tonight will be the coldest we've had in 3 years...in the 30's. Anyway, this morning it was 40 when we started out on our ride and it never got past 48!! I wore 2 long sleeved shirts, a flannel shirt, a jacket AND my leather coat! Plus....2 pairs of sox, long johns, jeans and leather chaps...PLUS 2 pairs of gloves, my earmuffs, a fleece neckwarmer, a scarf and my helmet!!!!!
What's everyone else been up to this fine weekend??
Sun, sounds like you had a great time! and good for you for at least sticking to the pilates over the week!
merry, remember what I said about the signatures only appearing once on a page. That's why it's not showing up...I'm pretty sure. They changed things around recently. But, yes, there IS a full moon, too!
Just to make you feel a little better Jill, we are having another blizzard and the temperature is well below freezing. Forty-eight sounds almost like beach weather to me. Anyway, congratulations on not giving in to all of the goodies put in front of you this weekend. I'm definitely impressed. Hope it pays off for you at weigh-in.
Hyacinth . . . congrats on getting your tracker functional. And I think Red is correct that you just got bitten by the page , although there were some problems earlier today and almost nobody's tracker was showing up.
Anyway, it feels like dinner time to my stomach. Have a great evening, gang.
Hi meo! Just sitting here trying to get a story finished. Brought it down to the line again! Yeah, I'll make Jill feel better too. We've got freezing temperatures here too. I wish it was as high as 48! That would be heavenly. Actually, we had a freakishly warm day Saturday, but wouldn't you know, I was stuck in the office. Nova Scotia. Cool, I've never been up there. You must get very cold winds blowing off the Atlantic, no? Well, February is always the coldest month in Tokyo, but we will soon be treated to such an outpouring of color with flower after flower blooming, first the plum tress, then the cherrys and then the azaleas, wisteria etc. Tokyo is really pretty in the spring. Well, gotta run. These little snips of posts are all I can manage these days.... Ciao tutti! Oh, and merry, your weight tracker's not ugly! It's cute!
Oh...almost forgot to ask ya'll if anyone saw Oprah on Friday. Bob Green, her trainer was on, and he said something that really stuck with me. He said that when you feel that little "tickle"...that slight little feeling of hunger in your tummy....THAT is the time to ignore it and do something to take your mind off eating. He's not saying to not eat meals...or to starve yourself....but just to try not to give in to each little hungar pang with a handful of nuts or some little snack. He said that when you can ignore those little hungar reminders, THAT is when you will really lose. Just try to think of those little pangs as your body trying to trick you into eating something (even tho it's not meal time) so that your scale won't move!! I'm going to really try to concentrate on that thought this week!
Most definitely, Jill! That little "tickle" would have once been the signal that we'd better get out on the trail looking for pawprints or go trekking in search of roots or berries. What would have taken our ancestors hours, even days to accomplish, we can have instantly. I like to think of giving myself the command "Wait!" as some people do when telling a dog to wait before eating...(the logic behind which I never have really understood, btw)....and just teach myself to hold off immediately chowing down.
Hmmm...trying to decide if I can join this thread as I am not "technically" 50 until September!
Starting over again m'self. Finding it ever so difficult living with both thyroid disease ( the past 15 years ) and just recently diagnosed with Insulin Resistance.
After desperately trying to lose this added 50 pounds and despite diet and exercise, I finally found a doctor that listened, tested and finally gave me a reason. Now I am trying to move onward and not hold on to bitterness and anger for the past 5 years of wasted health. Hopefully my new eating habits, coupled with my exercise regime and medical supplements, I'll be able to slow down the progression to diabetes.
I have recently begun SB and have successfully lost 10 pounds in 6 weeks. My goal, of course is to be healthy AND lose the weight, but my deadline is for mid June...as my youngest is graduating high school and my oldest is getting married.
It's a big year for me, in more ways than one and I'm hoping to find encouragement, motivation and answers at this site.
Thanks meowee and Red for holding my hand through the heart-break of a tracker that wouldn't mind me!!! It was doing exactly what you said - just appearing once per page.
OK, now I can move on with my life...lol!
Red I guess I agree with you that my tracker is kinda cute NOW THAT I CAN SEE IT! Just kidding Really, the little bear is sweet. Just like me
Welcome isforme! I'm pretty new to this thread also and the posters here are all very nice (yes, they paid me to say that, but that too was nice of them, right? )
Welcome, welcome, Itsforme. Age is just a number and none of us really care what yours is. If you want to chat with us, then we definitely want to chat with you. You'll like it here. A great bunch of really supportive people.
??? I'll be waiting for my cheque, gang ????? I know, we Canadians spell funny, what can I say.
Hi Everyone I am back. I see Jill filled you that I have returned from the cruise. BTW Jill I Love your new avatar that is great.
Well I am home and as Jill said I ate everything in sight but I enjoyevery morsel. I started out being fairly good trying to get lots of exercise. The first sea day we walked aroun the Promenade Deck 3 times which equals 1 mile. We very seldom took the elevator and took the stairs as much as possible. Because we were in the far aft of the ship we did have to do a lot of walking. As you know on Thursday I was staying the same and was at 157, then I weighed myself Saturday morning before we left and I was up to 159. Mostly because I kind of gave up and figured what the heck. Well, this is not official because I plan to do that on Thurday but this morning I weighed and was 162.5. It could have been worse and of course it could have been a lot better but I enjoyed myself a lot. I had a chance to really relax.
I plan to get back at it starting tomorrow but probably not has hard as I did the first part of January. I think that bruned me out to quickly and I need to do it nice and slow.
If you are interested here are my pictures for the cruise including pictures of those new dresses I bought. The pictures are in two parts here is part 1.
It does not look like it will let you just click the link so you will have to copy and paste.
It took me all afternoon to get them uploaded with commentary, now I need to write my review for the different cruise boards.
Will chat with everyone later, hope you are all doing great. I will definitely need the motivation to get going I have just 82 days till I leave on our next cruise. This time Alaska, but since I will be wearing sweaters, sweatshirts and jackets I am afraid the motivation will not be as strong.
Isforme, glad to have you join us, and like Linda said; age is just a number.
Lisa...Welcome back. Glad you had a great, relaxing cruise and enjoyed every bite!
Jill..Sounds like HH and you had a good time cruisin. I hate to tell you Jill, but 30 is close to short wearing weather for us. I'm still wearing a sweatshirt for my winter jacket, since we really never had a cold winter this year.
I have had a good weekend and stayed within my points. I discovered a new treat for myself, 2 point ice cream sandwiches. They are soooooo gooood. They are called The Skinny Cow. I also found something close to it on WW recipe, using graham crackers and Fat free cool whip. Spread cool whip on the cracker and freeze. Only 1 point.
Well chickies, have a good night and I'll check in tomorrow.
