Hi to everyone on this fine Bonfire Night...thank you Guy Fawkes!! I am sorry, Linus to see that Craig is having a bad spell with his asthma again. Hopefully the new inhaler will do the trick and his peak flows will be better very soon. Have things calmed down at home now? All quiet on the Eastern front? Have you started that decorating yet? What colour have you decided on?? How are your pain levels these days?
I am not very good today. I don't know which hurts the most! At the moment it feels like chest pain that hurts between my shoulder blades like last time I was admitted to hospital...I have just changed my meds from oxycontin to Morphine Sulphate Continus andalthough I am very relieved to have got rid of the side effects I am not at all sure whether the MST is as effective. I also put up the dose having halved it 'cos of Wednesday's mega late sleep but it hasn't had the same effect since....
Shad I see you are at last on the final countdown to your leaving Melbourne! Hooray!!! I do hope that the three month contract for Brisbane comes up trumps...it would be so lovely to have you back in your own home for a while!! I am sure Sunday would be only too glad to have your knee to sit on again much as I am sure she likes holidaying at DS!!

I must tell you about the "chocolate testing" evening yesterday!! Our church holds a Ladies Thursday evening every first Thursday of the month and I don't usually go...but my friend persauded me and said they had invited a chocolate shop owner from the nearest town (where the church is) and before I said I can't eat chocolate she said he had been asked to bring some Diabetic chocs along. So off I went...it was a very good evening and we did a quiz which everyone was abysmal at! But we learnt a few facts about the heavenly eatery and got to taste one Diabetic bar and one dark chocolate bar. Actually he does very good Diabetic choc and most of us found the dark one too bitter and preferred the other!! He explained that when buying Diabetic chocolate you need to look on the ingrediants for MALTITOL I think it was....there should be a good lot of this in a good sugar free bar. I know where his shop is...at least the one in Bury St Edmunds...he has another two in the county so I guess I will be popping along to make a few purchases before too long.....how about tomorrow!!!

I had a day at the market for some more groceries. I'll be cooking tomorrow and trying the old diet again. I did so well on it so maybe if I go back to it now it will budge the scale. I am bloated and retaining water now. Not a good sign at all! I had a great lunch with the bus drivers, painters and maint. men. Nice to have so many attentive men. I had them all laughing...... comedienne Mel at work. I hope to get organized tomorrow a bit. The apt. is a wreck and I need to CLEAN!!! Hope you all have a great weekend. I feel like I have wasted most of today. Haven't done much except go for a slow walk. Much as I like the lady who has offered to have me stay, I am not that fond of some of her lifestyle but it is only for tonight after all and I go back to the apartment for the next 19 nights and then home to Brisbane. Which reminds me I must go and book the ticket before I get off the computer.
It's a wet weekend in good ole Melbourne. Some passing sun but mostly grey and a bit breezy. I'm off for a good long walk when I get off here to counteract the food. Don't feel like I've done much for ages.
Nothing to report really, done nothing, seen nothing, no word on the Brisbane job. The recruiter said that would be forthcoming on Monday. But hey, something will come up soon if not that. So I'll be off and read some journals before filling the rest of my day.

Saturday springs sunny and mild but a bit cold for a drive I think. So open windows and cleaning have been the agenda for today. Made a meatloaf and let the painters in the bldg. I forgot all about them! Poor guys felt left out!
I can feel my energy level depleting as I type. Hope it lasts till the clutter in this apt is under control!!!! What a mess I have allowed to grow. I am wheel deep in crap here! I must forge on ahead and get the job done.

sorry for the abcense but sickness rules the roost again this time its dh he woke up yesterday just feeling a bit off and by last night was having breathing problems and sweats and very bad fevers by 3 am he was halucinating and vomiting so i called the doc out this morning and he has [wait for it }a chest infection and an urine infection and flu and a stomach bug men when they do it they really do it craig has been brilliant and conner well hes just a ray of sunshine always and teel has been great on the phone giving me some adult sensible{!!!!} conversation except when she went out with the phone to look at the fireworks and then couldnt find the gate and couldnt find the step and then forgot to lock the door but hey you gotta love the gal

Afternoon all. I've been spending the day racing around and buying groceries, fruit etc and some Christmas presents. It's another damp and non-glorious day. Still at least it hasn't rained too hard.
Can't stop for long as I am going out to catch the train to meet up with a friend for a walk and dinner - as if I haven't walked enough today!!! Not to worry, it will be nice to meet up with her daughters etc.
So I best get lurching along. Time waits for no man you know.
I've been reading all the posts to catch up, but for some reason all I can remember is Chocolate.
The pathologist called DD to let her know that the results showed a endrometrioma - the upshot is a good thing they did surgery when they did and nothing scary - no cancer, no infertility. I think this is a result of her emergency c-section, but I'm just the Ma.
I leave at 5:30 in the morning for Cincinnati Ohio for business. I'm going extra early because I've been invited to a football (American, not soccer) game - the Cincinnati Bengals vs. the Dallas Cowboys. I've never been to a pro game before. I am VERY excited. You'll see me if you can get the game on TV - I'm the middle-aged short lady wearing Cowboys blue in the middle of the Bengals whatever color they are but bet it isn't blue.
I return home on Thursday night. I have a house/doggie sitter and I hope everybody is happy with each other. It would be so much nicer if we didn't have to put the doggies in the kennel when we are both out of town.
Dearest Hubster is planning to leave DD's on Tuesday morning assuming no more excitement. He's supposed to get at least three bushels of apples on his way back so that I can put up apple butter and apple sauce. We have one jar of apple butter left from last year's and the apple sauce was gone in a week.
I had only one cooking catastrophe here... it had to do with an interpretation of time bake. So if a body wanted to cook a boneless breast of chicken and a sweet potato to be tasty and ready when said body returned home from shopping, wouldn't it make perfect sense to tell the oven Hello Oven to start cooking at 6:00 aka Time Bake and then stop at 6:45 aka Time Stop? WHO KNEW that Time Bake meant actual duration of the baking time versus the more logical Start time?? Well, ahem, I know one body who didn't know that. And the oven very faithfully cooked the chicken and baked sweet potato for six hours and turn itself most self-righteously off at 6:45.
The upshot is that last night's supper was NOT chicken a la cadaver and baked potato fricasee vaporized, but instead was a banana and peanut butter sandwich. It also meant that there were no left overs which was the plan for tonight. I had to order salmon sushi take out.
Tig!!! You're lucky the house didn't burn down!!! OMG!!! I don't know if I'm supposed to be laughing or not!!
Thank God nothing happened!! 6 HOURS!!!! Lord have Mercy!!!
Hope the hubby gets back real soon before you try another episode in the kitchen!!! I love apple butter and forgot how much till you just said it. I made applesauce with prunes and raisins and honey the other day! YUM!! Have a great time at the game!! N

My ride was about 2 hours and ZI think the neighborhood is getting suspicious! I keep driving around and round the same blocks! I really need to go farther away. A huge old maple tree had a zillion colors on it. It looked like it couldn't make up it's mind what season it is! Greens, oranges, yellows, reds and a few browns. You couldn't have painted it any better by hand. Beautiful sight. Lots of leaves today for riding through. I love that noise. There is a cold front coming in and I think this time it's here to stay.
Monday is Mall day and I get to visit Walmart(dept. store) for the very first time! I've never been to one and this one just opened. Hope I didn't already say this cause it sounds familiar!
Have some $$ saved up from this last job. You will be happy to know that I got a check for $250 for all the work in October/November and will get a smaller check Next month if the rug men need help when they come. I said I'd do it for a fee and the office took me up on it! More $$$ for the bills!! Maybe some day they will really be paid off!

hi all im creeping in before teel comes on and finds out ive blabbed again i seem to have spent the day doing all the things id put off doing since i thought id be moving repotting the plants and topping up and feeding them all {all 15} doing lots of washing and because im sick to death of seeing washing draped all over the radiators the whole lot went in the dryer and is all put away and a mammoth ironing waiting for me tomorrow
yes i know im a glutton for punishment doing my ironing first thing on a monday morning {7.30 am} but that way the rest of the week doesnt seem so bad
andrews still not too good but when that man does things he never does them by half i mean take a look at my kids anyway im going to go and have a well needed shower as im stinking its a bit hard doing housework when the centeral heating is going full blast

Hey Everyone, Sorry I have not been around. I was able to go to another hockey game this time up in Bozeman MT and my mom and sis and neice joined me there. So it was a lot of fun. The hockey games didn't go the way I would have liked to see but Jesse played a good game. The weather was so beautiful for this time of year. I saw white swans on the way up to MOntana and then on the way home I almost hit a4point buck....he was on the run with hunting season on. I think it is over now.
I will catch up on the posts later. I do hope all is well in everyone's part of the world.

Well breaking news. I have a new contract. Due to start on November 29th. That's the Monday after I finish here. The job is in Brisbane and will keep me going over Christmas and the New Year. The permanent Perth job is still on the back burner as far as I know, but I'm not hanging around waiting, I need the money.
I'm starving, feel like I haven't eaten for a week when in actual fact I have eaten very well and very sensibly today. I've also been to the gym yesterday and today. I told you there was no more excuses didn't I.
Mel, glad to hear the bills are being sorted out finally. You won't know what to do with the loot when you have all outstandings paid off
Linus, glad to hear that you are reasonably fit and well and not contracting what the DH has. Hope he gets better soon, he must be getting grumpy by now.

I am annoyed now. Not a good start to the day. And just as I wrote that it got even worse!
The gas man should have been here at 09:30hrs to sort me out a quote for the heating and boiler installation. So I got uo earlier than normal. Actually that didn't matter 'cos I had really only half dozed since 06:00hrs anyway. I was planning on going somewhere for the rest of the day when the telephone rings. Yes. Its the gas man. He won't arrive till at least noon or later. Cross. Very cross. A whole day wasted. I should have been trying to go my g.p. this week but couldn't fit in an appiontment. I could have gone this morning if the gas man had rung at 08:00 and not nine.
Then I thought I had better catch up with the site...(sorry for the awol over the last few days) and the dog came in EVENTUALLY from the garden all wet..all muddy...so I thought there was nothing for it but to give a bottom half a bath in the sink...he he he she hates it. And THEN as I was lifting her in to the sink she painicked and I got her muddy paw prints on my clean on this morning long sleeved cotton top. So I have already got undressed and dressed already today...grump grump grump is what describes me this morning.
I am not happy on the MST Continus. Yesterday I had an appointment with my social worker (the last for 3 weeks before she goes camping in Kenya) and I spent some time in town before I drove home with raging chest pain and pains splitting through my shoulder blades. I am not a happy bunny as you can see. Ho hum.
Shad well done for getting the job. Shame you are into it straight away without a little break to build your strength up. Money in hand to spend for Christmas! EXCELLANT!!!!
Tig Thank Goodness for DD diagnosis! Alleluia!!!!! Not that endometriosis is very pleasant either but it is usually a better outcome that having to deal with a carcinoma. I hope she gets on ok now. at your oven story!!
Linus you are a bad girl for giving away all my secrets! I hadn't realised it was so dark in the back alleyway. Usually my opposite neighbour's security light comes on if so much as a bat flies by but it didn't come on that night when I wanted it to. Not a good sign. And I have a step down from my garden to my patio so it was nearly a nasty accident...but not quite!! Glad Andrew is feeling a bit more his healthy self. Hope you don't catch any nasty bugs...hope C and C start to behave a bit more like responsible adults....glad your new upstairs neighbours have turned out to be a good bunch....

Having missed a day I thought there would be sooooo much to read?!?!?!? Where is everyone???? Busy the same as me I expect! Went xmas shopping for the bits and pieces for stockings etc on Monday. The store was huge and sales help were idiots!!! God help me from running them over next time I go back! Road rage here I come! did some food shop this AM and ended up spending time with Jen. The last 2 days are a blur and I am tired! Thursday is a holiday so food shop is tomorrow again! I forgot olives and if I can't get someone to pick them up I will have top go back. Or I could make the dish next week maybe instead?! I will have to think on it. Hope you are all well and happy. It's good to see NAE back with us after chasing after a hockey team with the relatives!!! Poor TEEL is trying to drag gas men into her home. Must have been jealous with me and the painters! SHAD is taking yet another job and thank God this is near home so she can be reunited with Sunday the cat who thinks she has been adopted by a non-cat person by the name of DS2!!
Then there is LINUS who is running around with pot plants or is that re-potting plants. I forget now. If it's the first one, smoke some for me!!!
Hope the rest of the team is well and happy. Missed you gals when I am away. Or you are away. I cannot seem to get on a good time schedule lately since the clock have changed.
