So, Mel, you really are Canadian by injection! Exactly what I first thought, except without the family tree for confirmation.
Not too many recyclables yet - I've been leaving them scattered here and there for others to deal with.
It wasn't your eyes - the photos were post-hail, so you really won't see it. But the bars on the balcony have certainly come in handy when I've been just about ready to give a big grey furry fellow the heave-ho - no matter how hard I shoved, he just wouldn't fit through the little squares. Do you suppose I'll get in poop with the boss for talking about a dire family relationship, or don't cats count?
Gotta go - out to eat too much and drink too much too, but at least the trail of bottles won't followed me home.
Bye!
CARLA~ HAVE A GREAT TIME! AND I WENT UP TO THE ROOF TO TOSS MYSELF OFF BUT THE ROOFERS PUT UP A NEW FENCE!!!! (ACTUALLY THE ELEVATOR DOESN'T GO THAT FAR) GOOD THING IT DOESN'T CAUSE PEOPLE SEE US NOW!
RENNIE~ I POSTED ON THE XMAS THREAD....TRYING TO KEEP IT ALIVE. THINK ONLY YOU AND I ARE DONE SHOPPING! EXCEPT I AM LOOKING FOR A SHIRT FOR RICHIE STILL. I GOOGLED THE SONG BUT IT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE THE ONE IN MY HEAD!....SO I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT!
HOLLY~ THE PICS ARE TOO CUTE WITH THE CAT ESPECIALLY. LOOKS LIKE HE HAD HIS MEAL AND WAS READY FOR A BIG BURP TO MAKE ROOM FOR MORE.
Actually Rennie, I think I agree with the daughter. Yuk.
Carla - The boss (whoever that may be - are you trying to wind me up?) says - that if the cat misbehaves, undo the wires and make the holes bigger! That's Plant Maintenance talking.
Oh Carla - Happy Birthday. May you have the most pleasant day and a lot more of them. I had a couple of glasses of Champagne for you yesterday - here's to Carla I said as I poured 2 flutes full. You didn't drink yours so I did. I even bought you some flowers and took a picture of it. There you go then.
Mel - why are you saying you are invisible? I can see you here. I'm sorry I am late today but had to go to the markets to take the flowers back since Carla didn't want them. Good to see you back my friend. Hope that nasty Italian has gone away for good - try a Spaniard or Portie next time and see if they treat you any better.
Holly - are those cats real?? If Sunday got on the table like that, she'd be put outside without opening the door, but even so she wouldn't sit still and gaze at the feast - if she doesn't have to catch it, she's quick on the tooth. Those cats actually look like they are ready to order the full menu.
Nice photos by the way and happy catalogue shopping.
Rose - nice to see you back and posting a bit more regularly. I'd like to think that the dog might spend his last days in a place where he is loved and happy. Offer to adopt him for the time - mind you with you working on him frequently he may live to be very old. Happy sewing. I will certainly have a chat to Teel - I will probably ring her when I go home in a fortnights time and get back to you. Sorry that is 2 weeks to those who don't understand a fortnight
Ruth - that sewing room must be overflowing by now. I don't think you showed me the sewing room did you? Taking the bike out to the shed? Will it return? Is it condemned to live life out in the barn from now on? Inquiring minds should know the answers to these questions.
Who have I missed - didn't I see Painter there in the mix somewhere? Haven't seen Happy but she is no doubt putting the finishing touches to the house for the weekend. Or she is cast doing a report for someone somewhere who will never read it anyway.
I went to the markets this morning and picked up the fruit and veg for the week, also the flowers for the week and the paper which I have yet to have a look at. No doubt I will get to it later tonight or early tomorrow while I try to watch at least some of the second semi final of the World Rugby Cup. England beat France this morning - which I wasn't too excited about. I didn't really care too much since the NZers are not there, but the least I could get excited about was that the team that beat them should go to the final and that didn't happen. If the Argentinians should beat the South Africans tonight it will be the Falklands War all over again. I hope the Poms don't win the cup again tho'. I find it amazing that a team which I don't think has won an important game since the last world cup 4 years ago can go this far. But enough - you lot don't know rugby union and I shouldn't try to push my hopes, fears and depression on you about that.
Okay - I'm back at work for another shot at the roosters mess and I took it home last night to read and inwardly digest however at 2.00am this morning I woke to find all the pages on the floor in no particular order and me lying half off the couch. Such riveting information. I think I will just have to bite the bullet and re do it.
One last positive thought. This morning I had breakfast with the Mother of one of the Roosters from the Townsville project - remember them? Came to work late and to make up for it, left early? Well apparently the rooster has complained to his mum that the project he is now on is awful compared to the last one and he and Rooster2 didn't realise how lucky they were having me to harass them! Rooster2 will be in the west to do some training later this month. We are planning a reunion. Unfortunately it will be the weekend I go home so we will have to be a bit subdued and dine out during the week.
With that I am outa here. to all the chickies around the world - most of whom will be asleep at this time. Sweet dreams
Aaah Happy come back - we're off worms and on to the number of bottles in Ruth's trash can and whether Carla will sneak down there and add another couple. Most riveting stuff.
Well, the bottle collection was to go to recycle yesterday but I had a severe case of hominess (is that a word?) and stayed home the whole day doing "me" things. Maybe I should use homeliness - the original meaning? Anyhow my class quilt project is nearly done - one more class. Hershey spent the day lying on my feet whenever she could. I think she is still grieving Lucy's loss and is very, very sucky.
MEL, of course we see you and are glad to see you back with us. I didn't know you were Canadian by injection as Carla says. Would that be hormone injection? I knew there was a special reason why I liked you aside from your rowdiness. What's this Christmas thread or is it a secret?
Carla, happy belated birthday. It was so nice to see the rainbow and Ottawa pics. Do you overlook the canal? I think this is how you link in your pics:
you do .
Happy, yup, the wormy stuff sure is a turn off. I was considering getting a worm composter but not sure now.
Painter, I'll be thinking of you when I paint this afternoon. I haven't touched a brush in two weeks but need something to show at class tomorrow.
Shad, the exercise bike is a no-no until I get the dratted knee done which probably won't be until late March at best. The bike is just a dust catcher and in the way in the back room so out to the barn it goes. I can use the recumbant bike at the gym and would like to get one but they take up too much room. Those guys you work with sound like a real pain. When carrot on a stick doesn't work, try thumb in the bum! Worked for me back when I was "The Skirt".
Roseblush, what's the "new craft"? I must have missed it in re-reading the many, many posts in here. I must admit that I am suddenly addicted to quilting. Maybe that's part of making things cozy for winter.
Hollyhock, a week ago we were recovering from our lovely evening. That was so much fun and will definitely be repeated. Let me take the bottles to recycle first, OK?
I didn't make it to the nursing home yesterday - too darned cold and wet - but Hershey and I will visit Harry this morning after Church. Then it'll be painting and a few loads of laundry. It's a good thing I have 39 pair of undies and can leave laundry so long. I'm getting down to the dregs of my wardrobe so it's time to get with it.
A WORM COMPOSTER.....TOO FUNNY MISS RUTH!! KISS HARRY FOR ALL OF US AND SAY HELLO. HOPE YOU THREE HAVE A HAPPY VISIT. HOW IS THE PAINTING? AND I WILL SEND YOU MY KNICKERS TO WAS TOO....ALTHOUGH WHEN I RUN OUT I JUST DO WITHOUT
HAPPY~ I PROMISE NO MORE WORMS....LOOK...I EVEN TOOK IT OFF!!! ALL KIDDING ASIDE THOUGH...SOMETIMES WE ALL NEED A REST OR BREAK. YOUR JOB ETC HAS BEEN A REAL BALL BUSTER TOO THIS YEAR....AND THE SINGING IDIOTS ON VACATION WERE NO HELP AT ALL.
SHAD~ LOVE THE SHOPPING...ESPECIALLY THE FLOWERS!! NICE TO MEET UP WITH THE MOTHER AND NOW THE KIDS LATER. HAVE FUN! I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING I HAVE MEANT TO ASK...I SAW RUSSELL CROWE OIN TV IN A PROGRAM ABOUT HIM AND ANOTHER GUY BUYING THE SOUTHIES. IS THIS OLD NEWS OR NEW/ IS IT WORKING OUT OR NOT? THE SHOW IS WEEKLY APPARENTLY AND THEY JUST BOUGHT THE TEAM. I THINK THEY WILL SHOW IT EVERY WEDNESDAY HERE. DID IT ALSO PLAY OVER THERE? INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW!
RENNIE~ I AGREE WITH YOUR DD TOO
WONDER IF HOLLY IS STILL LOOKING IN THE CATALOG!!
I HAVE A CHAIR TO CLEAN AND STUFF TO DO IF I WANT TO GO SHOPPING TOMORROW. AND TUESDAY IS FOOD SHOPPING. BUSY START TO THE WEEK. FEELING A BIT "HIBERNATISH" TODAY. CHILLY OUT AND ALL I CAN THINK OF IS MY QUILT AND SLEEPING!!! BEFORE I FALL ASLEEP HERE AT THE KEYBOARD I HAD BETTER GET MY BUTT IN GEAR. HAVE A GREAT DAY.
HAPPY SUNDAY/MONDAY
Yes those are real cats and they sat and waiting till we were done and then each given a bowl of turkey. Only furbabies in that household and they live a good life.
Shopping completed. Big whooping chunk of money to be parted with but all necessary stuff.
Just about ready for church. It is another cool, sunny morning here. The fire last night was cozy. The usual laundry, groceries and cleaning later today.....

Good morning chicks,
Mel - I'm very glad you are back with us again. Jen sort of hinted that you were putting others before taking care of yourself and I hope you learned your lesson and won't be doing that again soon. It's too hard to recover and not like you can get a few extra hours of sleep and be bouncy bouncy again. Don't make me come down there and lay down the rules for you - I'm much rather than Are you getting any color your way or do you just look over brick, concrete and water? Now that people can see you on the roof you ought to go up there and periodically flash the world. After all, what can they do? Just say your robe slipped
Ruth - worms in dirt I can handle. It's the other stuff I can't. I have changed my mind over the last 10 years and am going the cremation route. I hear the worm compost is one of the best for "black gold". We have too much clay in our soil here so you don't see them very much. No worms and no bunnies in the south here.
A fire sounds like a really good idea Holly. Besides a nice cuddly blanket, nothing makes a cool night more cozy.
Shad, I would love to watch you watching a footie game. Although you are giggly enough when the moment warrants, you appear to really get into the game and I just can't picture that from you. I think you'd be quite entertaining - more so than the game Isn't it amazing how quickly you can doze off with boring materials? You don't even realize that you've passed out Hope you got all the Humpty Dumpty pages back together again.
Carla - hope you had a great birthday and didn't indulge too much. Hope you didn't decide to flash from your balcony either - but if you did - good on yah woman OMG - I can't believe you were swimming in the lake this time of year. You Canadians are quite the hearty lot. Do you have a fur bathing suit?
Madcat - seems the perfect weather to be riding the bike. Have you had a chance to get up and about?
Back from the trip to Paragould Ceejay?
What is that Painter is drawing?
Seems like Rennie needs some hot soup. Should we all contribute a recipe?
Nae - I echo the others. Is this a new guy in your life? Hope you get to spend some cuddle time with the other dog.
Starting today I will be posting less frequently here. There are many things that need to be done in my life and they are piling up and making me stressed out. Most importantly they are not getting done by sitting in front of the computer or the TV. So I have made a promise to myself to tackle these things and keep to my committments. I will post a few times a week but it will be shorter posts - probably a relief to you all as I do have a tendency to prattle on.
RUTHIE~ I STARTED A THREAD FOR 3FC FOR PEOPLE TO USE AMAZON FOR XMAS SHOPPING AND USE THE 3FC LINK INSTEAD OF JUST GOING THERE. THIS WAS 3FC WOULD GET THE CREDIT FOR THE "CLICK"
IT'S UNDER INTRODUCTIONS: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...80#post1891680

I will see my new guy at the end of the month we have been talking alot on the phone and he is very intelligent and funny...he is a dog guy too....he has an english sheep dog...very cute... both of them......lol.
Well ladies have a great weekend I just got my peppers from my deck garden in the freezer and going out side to burn some odds and ends.....
Have a lovely day,
Peace,
Nae
HAPPY~ I AGREE WITH THE "GETTIN' IT DONE" THEORY!! THAT IS HOW I FELL FOR MR SNEAKY VERTIGO! THIS THREAD WILL ALWAYS BE HERE AND SO WILL WE ALL...
I PERSONALLY THINK YOU ARE MAKING A WISE DECISION AND WILL FOLLOW YOUR LEAD. ME FIRST AND DON'T YOU MEAN YOU'LL COME "UP" HERE AND BUST MY BUTT??
ALSO....JEN WOULD AGREE WITH YOU ON CREMATION..AND SO DO I!!!
Have to admit, since we are at this moment talking about it, I'm for cremation. I always have been. I figure that since I will be dead for eternity, there is no way that I can lie down for that long in one postion. So scatter me amid the flowers. Leave no stone for me as I will always be in the wind. My kids were horrified at first. No No they said. So I said well in that case you will have to bury me standing up. I'll get fat if I lie down all that time. And besides standing up will take up less space even if you have to dig deeper and the graveyards take up enough space already. I mean have you seen some of those Italian cemetaries where they have little houses for the departed. Some of them cost up to 15K for goodness sake. And every St Rita's day the family goes right on over and cooks and cleans and visits!!!!! and replaces the curtains and tablecloths. There are some wonderful customs in this world.
Anyway back to the present. The future will no doubt unfold as is should.
Mel - Russel Crowe and the other guy - think he is a local celebrity but for the life of me can't think of his name bought the South Sydney Rugby League team a couple of seasons back (sometimes known as Souths or the Rabbitohs and affectionately called the bunnies). Aussies abbreviate EVERYTHING. Now I'm not big on League but I know that when they bought the club, the team was close to the bottom of the competition. One year later they were the bottom of the competition. However this season has been quite good for the Bunnies and the Crowes and ???? MrX have done a lot for the club. The whole shebang was run down and delapidated. You often see pics of Russell and son Charlie at the footie - little one is wearing a Rabbitoh jumper (green and red horizontal stripes - known over here as hoops). I don't know that Russell has any sort of a show going over here although he does appear from time to time on the Footy Show with the League guys.
Ruth - glad you explained about the bike. It hasn't actually done anything wrong but just needs a shift in location. I hope you are not thinking of taking it out to the barn yourself????
Thumb in bum does not seem to work too well at all. I'm starting to think on red hot pokers and thumbscrews. I can't no instil a sense of urgency anywhere and will be glad when this job is done. Hominess? Homeliness or should it be Homeyness. Whatever, you are going into hibernation I think.
Happy - not sure I want the Humpty Dumpty pages back together again - they are total cr*p and I will have to redo most of the presentation again. There goes another weekend.
As for posting here, well you must do what you can to sort yourself out first. I know this is a subject I harp on, but if you can't get yourself sorted to a point where you are happy with the place you are at, then how can you help out anyone else. Unhappiness with work, with home, with play, with spiritual or emotional wellbeing all contributes towards a non-well being for the person involved. It might sound like "it's all about me" but how can anyone help anyone else through depression, weightloss, money problems, personal woes, when they are suffering the same sort of hopelessness themselves. Give yourself some time. Get on the treadmill and walk slowly and think slowly and sort one thing a day whatever it may be. Okay - lecture over. I look forward to seeing you whenever you make it back.
And here I go again. Out of time, out of space. Work calls. I don't feel like I have had a weekend - oh but then maybe I have not!!
Hello to Rose and Rennie and Holly and Meadow and Carla and Patty - gotta move it see ya
