Gosh, spend a day or two not posting, and everyone else checks in at length!
I think I was just so jealous of the fantastic pics Shad and Happy came up with that I had to go sulk for a while.
Happy, I would kill for either stick straight or curly hair. Instead I have in-between stuff that looks seriously scary every single morning of my life. My best option is to keep it very short - quicker to wet down - but with my height and broad shoulders I then get people assuming I'm batting for the other team. Not that there's anything wrong with that (dixit Seinfeld).
If the weather down by you is as glorious as it was here today, I might well jump into that pool! Although I do prefer a lake so I can do more distance swimming instead of paddling back and forth. When I had a house with a little pool a few years ago I never went in once it got cold. This aft I was working, and thus was saved from any crazy hike/cold lake swim nonsense.
Shad, was the cat in Madcat's bday photo your Sunday?? I may try to dress one of mine up one of these days to see how it would look...
As for the chorus of pre-exercise music on your computers... can't you all just turn the volume off? I've always hated the little noises computers make, and have mine permanently on mute.
Mel, congrats on the scale success!!! Bravo! Soon you'll be heading into the seventies - probably at the same time I climb back up to the eighties. Sigh.
Lovely that you're going grocerying tomorrow - can I email you my list?
Ceejay humping chemical drums!!! Surely sex talk is on the verboten list!!
Holly, so sorry to hear you're sick.
No fun at all, especially with all your responsibilities. But I'm willing to bet that if the flu is the price you have to pay for your travels, you'd pay up with a smile and go again.
Rose, good to hear from you, and good luck with the new BF. I sometimes wonder: if I actually did something or went somewhere other than work and the grocery store, would I start meeting men too?? What a concept!
Madcat, we'll talk closer to my visit. It should be fun, and I'm hoping to get some clothes and maybe shoe shopping done while I'm there. It'll be an odd trip: 3 nights at the Intercontinental with the rich folk, over to the Harbour Castle aka convention central, then back to the high life at the Four Seasons. I've always loved the lobby bar at the 4 Seasons, even though it's overpriced and not quite the same as it once was.
Ruth, don't you know that anything you eat while away from home has no calories? So you'll come home sylphlike despite all the
food porn. If you're still around in Ottawa after 5 tomorrow night, I'd be delighted to offer you a glass of something before you head home.
Note to OPP officers monitoring this site: I will not feed Ms Ruth any more alcoholic beverages than she can easily metabolize before hitting the road. Thank you very much.
Tonight was spin class number 4, and the old tush didn't complain at all. Of course eating a huge bowl of pasta for a quick dinner after may be counterproductive, but it was so good I may have to have more. Oops. I agree that we weigh more wet (weighed in after the post-spinning shower -
). And it would also seem that I'm very quickly building some very heavy muscles with all the activity.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it...
Time to go. Take care all, and
to those I've missed. Where the heck is Meadow, and Painter's been awol for a bit too...
