Well Slender- one of these days we are gonna have to call you slim !

That's a good start !

Hey Selina- I hope you did not get blown away in the storms. I thought about you around 4 am this morning while watching weather radar ! I think I could grow rice in my pasture at this point. I know the sky was falling at some point.
Anyhow-get on your pedometer and dance with the babies !

Nothing of great value is going to happen with me as I went to Panda Express and had an eggroll and a spring roll. Mom and Dad met me at the mall in town and we did a bit of walking. My number this morning was 197.
Today I made a small vat of potato salad ( can you ever just make a little ?)and Antipasta salad.Carbs, Carbs, Carbs ! There are hamburgers to make and chicken to marninate. It's BBQ season.
But I am going to try to be good and just eat the chicken with a side salad( perhaps that's a salad with a side dish of chicken ?)
Gotta go walk as my little one is asleep and I forsee calories coming in my future. Perhaps I can think about dessert or something !

Well friends, I'm here and not with a good report either.

I have done so bad this week that it isn't funny!

I hate the thought even of weighing myself in the morning and then having to post it because I'm sure that I had to have gained a pound [or maybe 2 or 3, who knows. ]

But ... the good news is that I am back on track again and am not giving up.

A Plan for April

I kind of have a plan for April and am hoping that it will help to motivate me and that it works.

What I've decided to do is to put $1.00 in quarters in my bank for each day that I do perfect for that day.

Last week I bought one of those electronic money jars that when you put the $ [change] in, it automatically counts it for you and shows you an updated total.

So, if I do good every day this month - then by the end of the month, I should have $30.00 in my bank 'cuz of there being 30 days in this month.

Walking and sort of a plan

I need to also have a plan for walking as well so was thinking that even if I walked 1,000 steps a day [roughly 1/2 mile],

at the end of the 30 days for the month - I'd have walked 30,000 steps.

Okay, now for the steps - the only ones I'll use the pedometer and count are the ones that I purposely walk to get to the 1,000 steps,

all other walking [you know, like normal every day walking when you clean house and so forth, I will not count that in with the 1,000 steps.]

Then I'm thinking that I can maybe give myself 10 cents for each 100 steps taken and so for each 1,000 'n that would be $1.00 a day as well.

I know others ...

I know that to many - 1,000 steps is basically nothing but I figure I have to start somewhere and if I set it too high, I most likely won't even do it, ya know?

So ... like I said, I hope that this will work [not to mention that it'll be a way to help me save money as well. ]

Not that I always will do 1,000 steps each day either - maybe one day I'll have more energy and do 2,000, etc. but as long as I keep track and it adds up to 30,000 by the end of the month, I'll be happy.

Better than not moving at all, right?

Guess I'll go for now and will see you all in the morning [much as I dread it, it's got to be done. ]

Love,

Jennelle

I am in absolute shock because I weighed myself this a.m. and I did lose 1 pound [no gain ... it must be a miracle!! ]

As you can tell by my post last night - there was absolutely no way that I thought I would lose anything and in fact, if I'd have gained 2 or 3 pounds it wouldn't have surprised me.

Man, what a relief this is for sure!

And ... I'm off to a good start already because yesterday I stayed on track all day to a "T" ....

Then last night after I posted this, I forced myself to walk the halls and used my pedometer and walked 2,304 steps!

For some reason, those types of challenges [to walk x amount] really help me to get moving and also I've found that many times I walk steps ahead so that if one day I can't walk for some reason, I'll already have those steps in for the month.

Silly? Probably but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to both keep losing the weight and to get myself moving.

How's everybody else doing? I hope good and that you have some good reports!!

Love,

Jennelle

It was raining wild that night, huh? So much water everywhere!! Anyhoo, my poor doggy only has three legs but he finds a way to get outta his yard when it rains and ends up under the patio looking so pitiful. He only gets out if its raining. LOL. Cute doggy.

I'm off to weed more and make some beer traps for the snails and slugs. Darn suckers are gonna eat everything!! Hope y'all have a great week! Happpppppy Monday!!

Just wanted to check in and say that I'm still here.

It's Holy Week, so a busy week for us and add to that the fact that we are finishing up our taxes (we have more complicated taxes than most).

I'll be back when things have calmed down a bit to do SOs!

There you are, Jenny ... I've been wondering where everyone's been.

I hope everyone's doing good and staying on track.

Since Sunday I've been back on track and am doing really well [haven't had one slip yet and don't plan on it. ]

Also you'll be proud of me ... I've walked EVERY day and though I'd only planned 1,000 steps each day, I've exceeded that every day so far.

If I keep this up, I'll be looking forward to Monday [unlike this past Monday. ]

Love,

Jennelle

Well Lady J that will be something. This week is your week ! I am so happy to see that you are keeping up with it ! I am almost sure that it will pay off somehow !
And of course, I am proud of you, because this is really hard.I'm lucky it's easy for me, but can acknowledge that sometime a person can try to make things work and nothing happens.
and then there is Jennylou
who is understandly busy- but "looking good Mamma !"
I think you need to get a little life vest for the dog, Selina ! Bob is big. Bob can swim.Bob stays in the house rain or shine unless he is with me. I'm scared he will get in a fight with the coyotes or get bit by a rabid skunk ( or stolen by someone who knows how good natured he is).
It's my TOM and nothing is happening. I have 12 yards of gravel to work into the driveway. OF course the tractor is not running- it's older than me !~I will check in later when I am not trying to plant corn or get the rock moved around.

sirak - moving stone is surely a good workout! A little off plan eating now and then isn't a horrible thing, so long as you dusted yourself off and kept moving!

Jenelle - WTG on walking every day! I need to get my butt in gear with exercise!

selena - Another chore that can be thought of as exercise - weeding! Hope all is well with you.

slender - WTG on the loss.

As for my update, I lost another 2 pounds this week, bringing my total to 50 pounds. I can barely believe it. It's funny, when I take pictures and compare, I see the difference. When I wear clothes, I can tell the difference. But, just sitting in my skin, I don't see the difference as much. I'm definitely not done yet.

I soooooo want to hit Onederland, like all you ladies. I feel once I hit that 199 lb mark, things would get so much easier for me. I'd have all the motivation I need.

Congratulations to the ladies who already have reached Onederland!

dawn - I'm a ways off from 199, and honestly, I'm not thinking about it too much right now. It's a very distant goal for me right now. If I just focused on that, it would seem like it would take forever to get there. So, right now, I do smaller goals. My next goal is my Memorial Day goal of losing 16 pounds. To me, talking about 16 pounds is way more attainable than talking about 28 (or, when I started 78!). I also break it down even farther - 2 pounds per week is my goal. Great when it's more, but I think in terms of 2 pounds. 2 pounds per week over the course of 6 months is about 48 pounds (roughly, since it depends upon how many weeks there are in that particular month). 48 pounds is an incredible amount of weight to lose! So, don't get too focused upon the 199 number - focus on something smaller and rejoice in your smaller victories too. That's what keeps me motivated to get to that 199 mark.

I agree with Jennylou- that 199 mark is really hard to see if you are at 230. But 225 is doable. You just lose one pound at a time. Infact 199 wasn't a big deal. Size 16 is a big deal. Buying new underwear because the other ones are droopy is a big deal. Realizing that people are more making eye contract with you is a big deal. Finding a hip bone or muscles in the your thighs really does rock.
I think we trick ourselves that one ninty nine is magical- but the truth is one more pound that you have not gained or one pound that you lost is the magical thing we have to think about. Most of the time Magic doesn't take so much work !
194 this morning. I still have a pile of rock in my driveway. Easter eggs need to be done and I have to get together some stuff for my side dishes for Sunday. Sometime after the first week in May things will calm down.

Hi Friends!

Just wanted to let you know that I'm still here and am still doing good.

I'm sorry I haven't gotten back here before this ... somehow time always seems to get away from me. Ugh!

Girls, thank you all so much for the encouragement ... it means so much to me and knowing we're all in this together sure helps as well!

Karis, when you were talking about planting corn and so forth - I had to double-check where it is that you live at.

Here in PA this week [since yesterday], we're getting snow, snow and more snow.

It's so pretty but ... enough already.

Jenny, I am so proud of you ... both for losing the 2 pounds this week and for having lost a total of 50 pounds already. That is amazing!

Ya know what? I feel the same way you do with how I feel about having lost weight.

I know that 25 pounds is far from 50 to have lost but though I can tell my clothes are looser and the scales show the loss - in other ways [like looking in the mirror], I can't really tell all that much.

Oh well ... I know the scales don't lie so if I keep going, eventually even I will be able to notice, right?

Dawn, just keep at it and before you know it, you'll be in onederland [I promise!]

And, like Jenny and Karis said ... mini-goals are the way to go [they sure are for me!]

If I had it in my mind all of the time that I have to lose "x" amount of pounds, I'd feel so hopeless that I most likely wouldn't feel like there were any use of trying.

But - will smaller bite size goals, it's easier to see progress and that you are making progress.

Just strolling along ...

As for my walking, I've done that every single day since the 1st [this has got to be a record for me.

My goal is to do 1,000 steps a day [beyond every day walking] and so far, I've done those and more and a couple of times I've even done 2,000+ steps!

And, my eating? I'm still on track and have been putting 4 quarters in my electronic money jar each night for a perfect day with no mess-ups and now have $5.00 in it [till tonight when I add another $1.00!]

Happy Easter, Friends!

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Easter and hope that each of you will take a minute to reflect on Christ's sacrifice for us.

Love you all,

Jennelle

Talking

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I've been on this site. I've been very busy with life. My Sweet Adelines chorus is going to competition in May and we have had many extra rehearsals. We hope to get a medal this year.

My weight is going down and I am now 241. Though I don't measure I am fitting in clothing that I haven't fit for at least 10 yrs. Yes I kept some of it (not all of them). I saved the stuff I really liked. I am going to find the rest of my saved clothes to see if anything else fits.

I love the fact that this WOE gives me the ability to loose easily.

Jenelle - what part of PA are you from? I used to live outside of Pittsburgh.

karrier - isn't it a blast to find old clothes fit!?

Hope everyone has a great weekend.
