  • Well Happy Easter Everyone !
I hope that tommorrow may be filled with sunshine and goodness !
The sunshine part would be good because it snowed today.Nothing stuck but the predicted near freezing temps make that itsy bitzy corn crop a bit iffy.
DH is unexpectedly out of town tonight and I can't seem to sleep. My knee is cranky. As much as I want to get up and exercise, I know I shouldn't ( plus I have already done the 5 mile tape).
The Easter Bunny is done and all is well. Perhaps I will go and check the TV. I am going to my parent's with the kids tommorrow and really should just rest.

Everyone have a great day !
    Karis
  • sirak - we got snow here too, only it's a few inches on the ground. And it's cold, cold, cold!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate.
  • Good Morning!

Well, first things first, I guess ... I just did my weekly weigh-in [and you know how scarey that can be for the day after Easter, right? ]

But ... guess what??!! I lost 5 pounds this week!

I knew that I'd atleast lose the 2 pounds I needed to make my goal of under 220 but never dreamed I'd lose 5.

In fact, I had to weigh myself twice to make sure that is what it really was.

I didn't slip once this week with my eating and as far as walking, I did good Monday through Friday but none this weekend.

How was everyone's Easter? I hope it was good!

Mine was okay ... I didn't do anything or go anywhere so pretty much, it was the same as every other day. Sad, huh?

Karrier, it's good to see you again and I'm so happy for you that you're losing and are able to fit into those clothes you'd saved. Awesome!

Jenny, I live about 90-100 miles north of Pittsburgh and about 45 miles or so south of Erie.

Karis, I hope your knee is feeling better by now.

You're probably right in that if it's really bothering you, you shouldn't put any un-necessary strain on it.

We got snow here too this week and more to come for most of this week. It's just a fact of life with living where I do, I guess.

Gonna get for now but wanted to get my weigh-in done and my ticker changed first thing this a.m. before I did anything else.

Will see you all again soon, K?

    Love,

    Jennelle
  • Jenelle - Awesome job, congrats!

This cold weather is the worst! I so want it to warm up and stay that way. We have trails around here that I can't wait to get out and use. DD will enjoy the scenery I think, and I know I will. I can either push her in the stroller, or wear her (that's carrying an extra 20 pounds around!). Thankfully, the end is near - it's April and that means it WILL be warm again soon.
  • 5 Pounds !

That's a whole bunch of those sticks of butter Lady J !

That is so great. I am truely excited for you !I know it is really gray up there- but this summer when the breeze is coming off the lake and the grass is green you can think of me where it is 105 and the grass is brown and bacon like crisp.
I spent some time up near Port Clinton OH one summer when I was a kid and I could see why people put up with lake effect snow when you have summers that delightful.
Again- I am so proud of you for staying on plan and walking !
We are just having a cold snap. The tomato plants don't look well. My eggplant isn't- but I had a couple left that I had stuck in the house. I won't know about the corn for about a week.
My knee is fine. I took yesterday off and am ready to get my shoes laced up again in a few minutes.
Well I ate this weekend. I was going to split it over two days, but my plans didn't really work out that well. I guess it really doesn't matter as I would have consumed more probably if I had done it in two days. With two family dinners in one day I had to be more selective.
Mine was not so bad-just bacon wrapped scallops, a half of a lowfat twice baked potato and green beans. My Mom's was ok- just too much food. I was at 193 this morning, which is just fine and dandy.
I have two weeks to get it together before my inlaws come in. I have to do some spring cleaning and get the yard back under control.
  • sirak - I'm only about an hour from Port Clinton! In fact, I have some friends who live there.

Lost another three pounds this week!
  • Hi Gals!

Thank you so much for the congrats ... I'm sure it won't happen 2 weeks in a row with losing that much but still, any loss I get, I'll sure take.

You know what, you're right about the weather ... it won't be cold here forever and I honestly should not complain because you're right about the summers.

Thanks for putting it into perspective for me.

Jenny ... how old is your little one? I've got a granndaughter who just turned 2 in January [and also have 5 others as well!]

It's been forever since I had to push or carry my kids [especially since they're 31 and one nearly 30. ]

Karis, I'm so glad that your knee is better! That sure makes it easier with walking, doesn't it?

That's awesome that you're down to 193 [boy, there's no stopping ya now, is there? Keep up the good work!

You girls aren't gonna believe this but do ya wanna know what I did on Monday?

I celebrated my 5 pound loss by going to Bi-lo and buying 2 long johns.

But ... I figured that as long as I stay on track the rest of the week, it won't hurt me and also that if I deny myself everything all of the time - that in the end it may not be the best thing to do.

Also - another thing that amazed me is that I could only eat ONE of them at a time [I mean at one sitting ]

Now - that, to me is totally UN-HEARD of! 'Cuz before I could inhale both of them at one sitting and even think or wish that I had a 3rd one to eat.

So ... even though that sounds like a small thing, to me - it's still a major victory!

I've been walking every day since Monday and in fact, am ahead of myself for my 1,000 steps per day that I had set as my goal.

How's everybody else doing with their plans? Where are ya - come out and play, we miss ya!

Gotta get for now, my demanding little fur-ball [Lexi, my cat] is bugging me to pay some attention to her.

    Talk to ya more soon!

    Love,

    Jennelle
  • Hi Friends,
Life has been busy for me. I have not lost anything but I haven't gained anything.

I am starting a new job on Monday, April 16. I'm starting at Procter and Gamble. I'm so excited about it. It's more money than the job I lost a couple of months ago.

I was so lucky to have an in-between job. It was ok pay but not great and it wasn't exciting enough for me.

I'm going to be an Administrative Assistant in the R&D department. Just to work for such a company is exciting and an honor. I'm so ready to start!

I'm going to try to start posting again. At least a couple of times a week.

It's good to read everyone's posts.

    Take care.
    Susie
  • Jenelle - my DD is 8 months old

Susie - congrats on the new job!
  • Susie- I am glad to see you. I booked marked the old thread to keep up with a couple of those people- but I wondered if you had ever got that job. Congradulations are in order !
Lady J-Opening Day came at the ball park and went without me sitting in the stands with a hot dog and a beer. My daughter went to a game the other night and had one for me, with cheese fries to boot. I understand how hard it is to pass up those things. If the Dallas Stars were in the final playoff for the Stanley Cup ( Lord Stanley help us !) and someone gave me tickets I might have to go. IF I went I might have to forgo the diet food and EAT SOMETHING !
They will have to figure out how to get past the Canucks
Eight months old is so little ! Is she walking yet ? Jennylou just enjoy every minute of it now because when they get to be really mobile your world will change again !
I have bunches of stuff to do today. We have storms coming tommorrow night and the backyard needs to be mowed. I still have the pile of pea gravel in the front to move around. Things really grow fast in the spring. I am down to my last salad and have to get some more lettuce.
If I had known that I was going to do this serious diet thing I would have put in some spinach !
I saw 192 this morning. One more pound to go to get the -40- !
Dh is really busy this weekend so I am not planning on any serious cooking. Yesterday I roasted a turkey-part of which will go into the freezer for chicken and dumplins or tetrazinzi. I might make up some pizza dought for the kids- but that's easy stuff. I can just eat a salad.
My walking has started to rack up this month I do a 30 minute segment in the morning and a 50 minute in the afternoon. I am thinking I am going to start some more weights. I did that in the begining- but the walking seemed to really be working best.
My father's people are from Ohio. Grandma went to Bowling Green, they lived in and around Findlay. Her sister had the place up at the lake, which was divine in the summer. Ever so often I tramp around the internet geneology sites looking them up and trying to get the pictures I have some names and date.
  • sirak - DD is not walking yet - but she wants too! She loves to walk around holding on to my fingers, but she hasn't mastered it on her own yet. She just started to scoot/crawl this last week or so - and already my life has changed! We'll be buying gates before long, I think.

I like genealogy too, and look around for my family every once in a while too.
  • Hi all!

    long time no see!

I went out for an easter vacation and I must admit I was really bad with my eating but I got some more excersice than usual, still I know is going to be a very bad monday weight in. But I'm back on track, started walking today againg and got rid of all unwanted food back home.

Congrats to all of you who stayed on track and are doing great with your loosing
  • vega - WTG with getting back on track.
  • Susie ... congratulations on your new job, I hope it's everything you want it to be.

Jenny, I bet your dd is adorable! I was gonna ask the same thing as Karis did [about if she's walking yet or not.]

Karis, good for you with forgoing the hot dog and beer [I bet your daughter enjoyed it for you. ]

One more pound till the 40 pound mark? You can do it and I'll bet you get there this week too!

Vega, don't feel bad about your Easter slip-up 'cuz at least you got right back on track and that is the important thing [your not giving up!]

As for how I'm doing ... I have walked every day which is an accomplishment.

With my eating ... I haven't just eaten salads this week but am not really concerned about it 'cuz I haven't really been bad too much either.

If I do have a loss on Monday, I know it won't be much but I figured that now and then it won't hurt to have a week or part of it with eating regular food.

I mean, after all - I know that I can't eat nothing but salad for the rest of my life so now when I do eat other things at least I'm learning how eat them in moderation, right?

One bad thing though is that I've noticed the past 2 days, though I haven't gone hog wild, I have eaten a few times when I wasn't hungry [which wasn't too smart of me. ]

    Love,

    Jennelle
  • Hi Ladies,
It looks like everyone is on track or if they got off track they weren't off long. It's very inspiring.

I had a 3.25 lb loss at my weigh-in last night. My goal right now is to have a loss every week for 3 months. It doesn't matter how much of a loss, I just want to get in the habits that will help me to loose each week.

Have a great day! I'll be around some this weekend, so I'll see you here.
