Scale is down .2 to 182, which isnt much, but if i lost .2 every day I woyld be happy.
Fitbit says I slept 7.5 hours which is good. I was up 3 times for the bathroom.
I have exercise bands i bought at Goodwill but never opened the package. I have a couple things i can use in my recliner. One is a thigh master from Suzanne Summers years ago. another is a generic Magic Arms. When i had my old rocker recliner I could make it rock by raising and lowering my legs but my new one doesnt rock. But I can just do leg lifts in it. I used to keep small hand held weights by my chair and lift them sometimes. Im not sure where they are now. Most of the time i just sit here and read or watch tv. 😀
I just ate my breakfast/brunch. Eggs, toast and a slice of tomato. We are out of Mushrooms and sausage. He kept cooking those, sausages even though i said i didnt want them, and i kept eating them. If he buys them again i will specify that I dont want them. I cant even feed them to the dog because he doesnt like sausage.
All i have left to cook for dinner is chicken breast. I want to cook it with cream of Chicken soup and fried potaries. The potatoes are how I get DH to eat it. I have enough chicken for more than 1 meal but ill never get him to eat it more than once a week .
DH is going to want to go to the casino today. We never go on Saturday because its the busiest night. Yesterday he wanted to go very late to see what its like late at night on Saturday. I said No!. The Steelers dont play until tomorrow so he will want to go today. Im undecided which means I might weaken, but I really dont want to go.. For some reason they dont give any free play on Sunday. I might say I'm sick. A while back i told him i wanted to go in the middle of the night to see what its like as they are open 24 hours. Back when Walmart used to be open 24 hours we went once. It was surprising that there were people shopping but not a lot. We used to have a few restaurants open 24 hours but the pandemic put a stop to that and also Walmart. It was convenient for people traveling the turnpike to get off and eat. There might still be places to eat at. other exits. Restaurants have a hard time getting enough employees. to be open overnight. Our local Dennys closes at 4pm and does not even serve dinner anymore.
I read about being tired from eating and its very common. I dont get tired after eating breakfast. Many people at work got tired after lunch. One job was so boring that a few people fell asleep. They got fired. No second chance.
I have a couple bills to pay yet for this month. I will do that now.
Here is an interesting article about feeling tired after meals.
That article is interesting. Thanks for sharing. I wondered if I should switch and eat a few small meals instead of eating 2 or 3 meals a day. May have to try it and see how it works for me.
Got all my test results on my oncology portal and everything is about the same except the protein test was still going down, but the C 125 was up. I'm not sure if it is just a bounce or if I'm going to have to have some tougher drugs as this is the test that indicates the tumor is growing. I guess the Team Nurse will tell me what it means when I see her Friday. She doesn't believe that sugar feeds cancer but I'm wondering if the fruit is causing the cancer to grow. The funny thing is my FBG was 91 on the oncology test results.
Weight was back down to 158.6 lbs. and FBG was 105. My glucose meter stopped working. It won't work on anymore. The batteries were hot as fire and the meter comes on but won't read the glucose. I put new batteries on it but it still wouldn't work. I didn't try a new set of strips but will check that as they could be expired although recently bought.
Hope things go well if you have to go to the casino. I guess he just has to try.

Not a good casino night, so he said if he doesnt win we dont go on Friday. I have to stick to this. He already said no more Wednesdays. I told him not to go but i went along for his sake. They were giving away ceramic casserole dishes so we got them. We didnt know til we got there so we missed out on the ones for the first 3 Sundays of the month. I don't need them, but they are free.Free, except you have to be a gambler to be eligible, so not really free.
So i guess Im getting a break from the casino for maybe 2 weeks. I hope so.
Im getting angry about the garage door opener. We need doctor appointments and an appointment for dog grooming but cant make them until we know whrn they are going to come for the garage door opener. I wish we could cancel but we need this done now! If he had made the appointment when the garage door started failing it might be done now. Our only othrr option is Lowes probably. Maybe tomorrow,we can go to Home Depot and talk to the guy instead of just calling.
I sure hope your tumor is not growing and things are going like they should. I imagine it is hard not knowing. Im still praying, Trish.
I did not cook the chicken today. We ate DQ on the way to the casino since we decided not to eat dinner at the casino. Neither of us was very hungry. We get child cones at DQ. DH got his cheeseburger and fries on the way home and I ate a few fries.

Poor sleep. It was good sleep butonly 4.4 hours. Went to bed at 1am and woke up at 5 with 2 for potty. Now Im hungry but DH will probablty want to go to Bob Evans. They dont one w how to cook eggs. I dont care how many years they have been doing if.
Scale up .6 to 182.6.
Its really getting cold here. Im not ready for this. DH didnt put the furnace on last in ght and i was bundeled up in my Steeler fleece. It looks sunny out front but not out back.
Carol Sue I'm sorry you didn't sleep long enough. I know y'all go out on Mondays so I hope you aren't too tired today.
My weight was up 159.8 this morning so just bouncing around. I believe there may be some changes to the foods I'm eating and I found an article from ARP that I am sharing at the bottom of this post. I found it interesting how they explain that how fast foods go through digestive system seems to be important and as we get older it slows down. A lot of good info there especially about how we have lost and gained over the years.
We are having fish today. I notice DH has cans of corn out for dinner and as much as I like it, I know I can't eat it. I plan just a salad and Greek yogurt dessert with mine. I think it is important to eat a variety of food rather than the same thing all the time. I think I'm not going to worry about an eating window but eat just 3 meals a day but only when I'm hungry. I think that is more important. The only limit I will keep is keep calories as low as I can and not high carb.
I actually had eggs, bacon, a toast and a c of coffee fir breakfast. As plan is at this time, I will have 1100 calories a day.

TrishI think your plan sounds good. You should be successful.
DH wants scallopped potatoes so they are in the oven. Thats supposed to be a side but he just fills his plate with potatoes. I don't think he cares for meat very much.
I liked that article, Thanks. Lots of good inforrmation. I know that one doctor favors vegetarian but its not for me. I want some meat, eggs and poultry in my diet but do like a lot of vegetables. I also need to limit carbs. They have been creeping up. I didnt buy any candy or bread other than SL.
DH first told me he wanted stuffed cabbage rolls for dinner but it was too late to start it since we didnt have the cabbage or meat. I will probably be making it soon since I've been craving it too.
The Steelers play tonight on Monday night football. DH will stay up to watch it but i will go to bed early since I didn't get much sleep last night.
I ate what I wanted but when I was hungry. I did eat a small amount of the corn DH cooked and did fine. We take one can of whole and drain it and mix it with a can of creamed style. It is really tasty. Instead of the protein shake I had PB sandwich with an apple. I ended up with 1325 calories.
We will go to local store to get our meds and then we need to go to Walmart to get me a new blood sugar meter. It has been a good day. I read another article today about the importance of protein in a balanced diet plan. I think that is how I need to eat. A balanced diet with plenty of protein but not high carb. Sorry I didn't get the link for you to read. If I see it again. I'll share it with you.
I want to go to bed kind of early too, but not sure I will.

Trish, if you find the article, post the link, but I googled The mportance of Protein in a Balanced Diet and a few articles came up. So it might have been one of them. I dont think I get enough protein because iI dont always eat dinner and I dont think to drink a shake.
I went to bed early and DH stayed up to watch the game, and the Steelers won. I slept til 4am again and thought it was going to be a bad night again but i did fall back to sleep until 8:30. So,,8 1/2 hours. DH didnt get up til I did.
DH likes corm more than I do. He likes to take a can of whole corn and mash it with the potato masher to make it like cream corn. Maybe he' s telling me to buy cream corn. I buy mostly frozen vegetables so its whole corn. If I mixed them together it would be too much corn but it sounds good. He told me he wants me to make green bean casserole. I will, but I usually just heat up a vegetable.
Overnight I thought about a lot of things i want to do and thats why i couldnt fall asleep. Today i feel energetic and want to get some things done.
I also considered eating less. I know i used to just eat and not count calories. Therefore i know I ate fewer than 1000. Its only sincce i started using MFP that I work toward going over 1000. I used to hear dont eat less than 1200 but I was always satisfied with less. So I will work toward eating less, if im satisfied with less. I understand that under 1200 you dont get enough nutrients but if its strictly healthy food you do better. There were times i didnt eat healthy but i survived. I didnt care about health or nutrition but just weight.
We just heard that the price of eggs is going to go sky high again. I will still buy them but if I. see them cheaper anywhere I will buy them. During the pandemic they were $1 at Dollar General and I made a special trip to buy them there. I dont think I will ever stop eating them.
I just ate breakfast, scrambled eggs, sauteed mushrooms, Tomato slice and SL toast.Yum!
I forgot to weigh until after I ate, so up .6 to 183. Im not worried about it.

My weight back down to 159 lbs. FBG 109 and BP 107/64.
Carol Sue I never worried about calories when I was growing up. I didn't eat enough to gain weight and didn't have a weight problem until I started eating "healthy" 3 meals a day. That just caused me to stretch my stomach and want more. Food was never on my mind. I ate enough to keep me living. Learning about IF, I now know I would probably been healthy all my life if people had left me alone.
DH is up and going to be ready to go. We don't have a lot of things to get at the store. DH will go in and get our meds at the local grocery and then we will go to Walmart. I do have a few things I want to get while there to get my glucose meter. I need some nail polish removal and hair conditioner and a couple of plastic hair picks. Things I wouldn't make a special trip for but since I'm going to be there I'll get them there instead of ordering.

Before I met DH I dieted, but didnt count. I ate what i liked but small portions. I watched carbs but didnt count. It kept my weight down. DH thought i was narurally thin so didnt think i would gain. He didnt listen to my concerns, so I gained. So i might just go back to smaller meals, eating less. I will continue to track to have a record. I want to find a way to track both food and weight in the same place. I used to have it in a notebook. Food, exercise, weight, Blood pressure, Blood glucose, and also Lab results for A1c and Triglycerides. My bowel surgery ended that. Now my scale has all my weigh ins since purchase and MFP has all my food. Fitbit has everything when it syncs properly. It doesnt always. It has food, exercise, weight, and sleep.
DH didnt eat breakfast but he made egg salad for lunch. Unfortunately i ate both. Sobhopefully i will only eat a small dinner. I'm making kielbassi coins fried with diced tomatoes and noodles. I found the recipe in a magazine years back and a friend told me kielbassi doesnt go with tomatoes. We love it and its quick. You can make a bigger amount but its not something you would serve to company. But its also good for a pot luck.
Amazing thing is that I weigh the same today as yesterday. I think the key may be the fiber as I was very active in the potty room yesterday. Although I have also decided that it is the fat that causes the potty issues. I've replanned my micros on MFP. I will keep my protein up but not too high as I still think it can be dangerous for cancer growth if you eat too much. I realize I could be wrong, but not sure. I still think carbs are important, but it is the amount of carbs and types of carbs. Fiber is important. Fat is important, but too much is a disaster for me. I do better on very low fat diets, but DH won't do that and so I just try to balance things.

Carol Sue I also continue to track on MFP to know what I'm doing. I'm actually trying to eat the way my oncologist says is important by eating enough fiber and protein. I also want to eat healthier at the same time but not using an drastic diet. I saw this article on oatmeal last night and decided to share it. I used to eat it years ago because my Mama's Dad and siblings especially the boys had high cholesterol. She ate oatmeal almost everyday to keep her cholesterol in check and the doctors always told her she had the heart of someone in her 20s. That is why she was so shocked when she had cancer. I remember telling me "I stopped smoking 30 yrs ago and I've taken care of my heart, but never even thought of ever having cancer". I thought of that when they told me I had cancer.
As you said eggs are expensive, but oats are not all that expensive. I also realize that I get Lab draws every 3 weeks so I am going to start eating oats for breakfast. I had oats with apple and half a banana with Greek yogurt and cinnamon on top. I also read that oats are an anti-inflammatory food so I hope it will help correct that as well.
Got to get busy. I'm running behind time and need to get exercises done. I did actually dust my furniture in the living room and used light sweeper to vaccum living room and kitchen. I want to be able to brag on myself when I see my original team nurse Friday. I haven't seen her in quite some time. DS saw her Monday before her treatment. So far DS is doing good. Our oncologist is testing her with different lab work to see why she is having fluid in lung. DN told DS she thinks he may be looking for blood cancer. I pray that doesn't happen. She was tired and sleeps a lot.
BTW the nurses have told DS that she sleeps so much because her body is healing. That may be what is going on when you and I sleep. I sleep a lot the first few days after my treatments. And you remember that you did have that heart procedure just a year ago. So when you are tired and sleep, your body is saying "Hey we need to heal some more".
We are having leftover roast from Sunday except I will cook some potatoes and carrots to go with it because I burned them when I cooked the roast. Guess that happens when you are 81 and trying to multitask. Not a good mix these days.

Scale was down .4 this morning to 182.6. Not much but down. I think I'm eating to maintain 180 lbs instead of losing. I still have to cut back so I lose better. In the past, I had to be always a little bit hungry to lose but right now I'm rarely hungry exceopt in the middle of the night. I think thats because Ive been taking diabetes meds at bedtime. I should test one of these nights when im hungry to be sure its not too low. I have to work on having that hunger between meals instead.
I like oatmeal, but I'm not going to give up my egg breakfast because I want the protein.
BBL DH needs me.
When I was in the hospital they gave me scrambled eggs AND oatmeal. Small portions. I continued that at home for a while. I could do that again, maybe.
We cant get Home Depot to commit to installing the garage door opener. Now DH says he might install it himself. He did the first one but he was 38, not 81. Unfortunately he can't count on anyone to help him. They assume that DH can do anything because he always did. Why is this so hard? We might try Lowes, but what if the same thing happens? I dont know who else does this.
We came home from Walmart to a message on our phone that Home Depot is still working on this and the installation will be done by an outside contractor. They didnt say when. I rhink this is because DH threatened to cancel and call someone else.
Our trip to Walmart was a nightmare. We bought candy to pass out for Trick or Treat. We don't get many kids but DH says to buy more just in case. Sometimes we only get less than 10 kids. The candy we bought was $4.92 per bag butcrang up $7.97. One that was $3.48 rang up $5.98. That was a big difference so I went to Customer Service. They suggested that i take pictures of the shelf price tags, which I did and they issued a credit. It looked like the chicken i bought rang up a bit too much, too, but I had enough by then.
DH scans everything so I'm going to watch as he scans from now on instead of checking the receipt afterwards.

Carol Sue I did read a suggestion of having eggs with your oatmeal. I remember seeing them with oatmeal and I also got them in the hospital, but I tried to stay as close to keto as possible which really wasn't possible.
I will drink a protein shake later so I get the amount of protein I need today. That will bring my total calories to 1293. I'm also working to drink enough water. I still think it needs to be water.
We didn't buy any sugar for Halloween. We have more kids in the neighborhood now but we won't turn our lights on. I think churches do a lot of things for kids to safely do trick or treat parties. DH FBG was better than mine this morning and we've improved our readings so don't want to mess them up. I haven't watched closely when Walmart rings things up but maybe I should.

I hava a good habit of checking my receipts because i have been overcharged/double charged for years on many items. With DH doing self checkout there are double scans that I have to watch for. I would not have bought that candy for $7.97. When our kids were school age we used to get 80-100 kids come, but they all grew up and now the neighborhood is mostly seniors. Now,we have some young families who are just having children now. Since we have the steps tio walk up out front some kids pass by and dont bother. I dont want them to fall. The houses across the street dont have steps but on our side they do. So the kids go across the street but dont come across to our houses. ok by me.
I agree that water has to be water but my doctor tells me to limit all fluids. My body needs water but my doctor says No. 😅
I made it today eating as planned. I did have the protein shake ended day with the 1293 calories. I've been hungry but I want to make this work for me so I need to work the plan.
