My day has been fair. Headed to bed early tonight since I have to get up early and be at oncology for infusion.

I would love that chicken dish at TX Roadhouse. I agree it would be easy to fix at home. I might try making it soon. It will be interesting to see if your DH is going to want to go to the casino.

I think I need to start eating more low carbish myself although I'm really enjoying eating the way we are eating right now.

I feel terrible today. i had a bad night. For some reason i had a headache all night. Right now if i cough my head hurts and feels like my brain is rattling around.. it feels like theres congestion all through my head Very early this morning i got cramps in my feet, in the arches. i walked to try to relieve it then put some Theraworx on them and rubbed it in. By that time thecramp had gone into my calf. That pain is gone. i took Tylenol for my head but it still hurts. I dont know what is causing all this. Im having trouble breathing because my nose feels stuffed up.The only thing i did different was drink that cammomile tea last night.

DH applied the Grubex to the back yard and said there were only a couuple small spots dug up overnight. I think he should apply whats left in the bag but he says no. He's the boss. so far we have not seen any critters digging or seen any skunks, which is what weve been told it is. I dont want them to show up! And I hope Rusty doesnt encounter them. We dont need him coming in the house smelling like skunk!

I plan on not buying any more ice cream, but sometimesDH buys it but he rarely eats it. If he buys it i would like to be able to just stay away from it. And the italian bread, too. It is so good and its only $1. We used to only buy it when i made beef vegetable soup. Now its become a habit. I have to keep telling myself im at risk for a stroke with my Triglycerides so high. Thats what scares me the most. I know what to do, and i know Ive done it before. There is no food worth that risk. Im not afraid of dying, but I want to finish out my life being mobile, not with the results of a stroke. i know we dont get to choose, but we can do things to point us in the right direction.

If the way you are eating is working for you for your health and your weight continuue to do that. People like my MIL eat whatever they want til a very old age and they are fine. you have the advantage of exercising that is beneficial, and most older people dont do.

Scale was up 1.4 today to 183.4.

DH walked around to the side of the house and the yard over there is all dug up. He will not buy more Grubex. He is treating it with something else. I wish he would just use what is working.

We are going to the casino aagain today even though i told him not to. He wants to eat dinner there with our comps. What can i do?

Carol Sue So sorry you are not feeling well. Sounds kind of like what DH and I had. I think we got it from the nursing home when DS was in rehab, but I'm learning that it is something that is just going around. The guy having infusion next to me said he and his wife had been sick and had the cough for 3 weeks. I told him that is what happened to DH and me. My cough is better and has become more of a dry cough with what DH calls a productive cough now and then.

I hope your Rusty doesn't encounter a skunk and hope your DH will be able to get rid of whatever the culprit was. That would not be any fun for Rusty nor y'all. I understand it is a smell that is difficult to get rid of. I've always heard you would have to take a bath in tomato juice. I wonder if that is what you would have to bathe him in?

I talked to the nurse about treating my bones and there is an injection you can do every 6 months that is easier on the kidneys and less side effects. I told her that I would like to have my oncologist treat me for it. I won't see him until the 22nd of November, but I think I can get the 1st shot when I go back for next infusion if we can get it approved by my insurance by then. DS called yesterday and said that our insurance is going to be no more so we are going to have to find a new insurance for next year. I have no idea who to use. No that I've had an Advantage plan, I want to continue with one. I will have to start looking for something new. Her DD is going to look for something on her next days off work for her Mother. I hope we can get one as good as what I have.

I had potty issues when I got home so I don't think my Arby's will be a problem as I think I got rid of all I had eaten. They had to do my infusion different this time because they were low on some of the supplies and they just flushed the spot before and after infusion so I think I got more of a straight medication instead of watered down. So that caused the laxative reaction. They said it was because of the hurricanes, but I have a feeling it was more of the few days teamsters strikes as well as trying to get things through the hurricane areas.

Hope you feel better soon.

Im feelintg better now but wont tell DH because i dont want to go tomorrow either. Im ready to go to bed.

We had issues today with police. On our street, in our yards. DH talked to them and they were looking for a woman. They were here for a few hours. The neighbors probably wonder why the cops keep coming to our house.

i had a turkeey sandwich for dinner and left over sweet potato from yesterday. Calories were 1005 but carbs were over 100.

I want too go to sleep but wont go until DH gors.

up.2 to 183.6.

Great sleep! 10 hours. I went to bed early. around 10pm. I feel much better today. No headache pain when i cough, but my back hurts.. probably from the way i slept. I wont tell DH that i feel better. I dont want to go anywhere.

Im glad you were able to get your infusion even though it was different. You are back on the road to recovery.

I like my Insurance and i think its staying the same for next year. There is a better one but i dont qualify because im not on Medicaid. It provides rides to medical appointments which i would need if something happened that DH couldnt take me. It also includes money for groceries. But my income is too high, as hard as that is to believe. But my insurance is good for. my needs. My surgeries were when i was still working and had my employers insurance. DH had hip surgery and heart surgery with our Medicare and it paid well. And our copays are low.

I guess i will look for something to eat!

Carol Sue I'm so glad you are feeling better. but understand you not wanting to go any where. You have to do what you have to do.

I'm looking at different Advantage Insurance plans in my area. I think I may have found a good one. I will call my present insurance plan Monday and see what is going on and what they have to offer. However, I found one that is listed as a favorite that is used at my oncology. I will also see if the finance lady who has become a good friend can make any suggestions. The company I'm with was put together by some of the doctors here in town, but I've heard none of them like it. It was taken over by someone else this year, so if they are going to mess around I will try to find something more stable.
Have you ever heard of UnitedHealth? I think they may be everywhere but I can't tell if they are federal or state governed. DD has it in AK and likes it. I don't even know if we would qualify with them because we make too much for medicaid or if they have a plan without medicad. Any way I will continue to look. There is plenty of time.

I'm going to have to see what is going on with our credit card as we never got this months bill. I want to get it on a monthly auto pay if I can, so will have to get with DH and see if we can do it. DH had that card before we married and we never saw any reason to put me on it so he will have to be with me when I set it up.

We had tilapia for dinner.

Trrish, the main reason to put your name on the cc is if you have no credit cards in your name. If he passes before you, you might have trouble getting a credit card. The reason not to put your name on it is if your house is in both names. Financial things can get tricky. It upsets me that everything is in Son in laws name and nothing is in step daughters. She says she doesnt care but she should.

Ive heard of United Healthcare Insurance. i think its national. I dont know anything about it but I think its accepted everywhere. and is good. Our insurance is somewhat local. It would takee a lot to get me to switch.I almost had to because our hospital was going to stop accepting it but they changed their mind. The hospitals around here are involved with the insurance and theres always a big fight going on between them. Its always in the news.I watch it closely!

United probably has plans that will fit your needs and your income. There's time to look into it.

DH wanted Mac and Cheese for dinner is we made that. i ate a small portion as it is not a good choicee for me.

Hi there. Just thought I would drop a line. My knee surgery and healing has been great. I am very active again. Between gaining weight post-op and my hunger with all the exercise I get now, my weight is quite high, and blood sugars and A1C are up.
So, after budget crunching (no drug coverage) and discussions with the doc, I am going on ozempic.
I am not doing this lightly but need it for my health.
Have a good week.

Fatmad I t is good to hear from you. Glad your knee surgery went so well. Sorry about the weight gain, but glad you can take ozempic. My DS took it for a while but it stopped working and she went on the one that starts with a m. Not sure the what the name was. She can't take it since the found out she has kidney cancer. They don't want her losing weight. Her DD is on the one the one that starts with the m that her Mom had been on and they both lost 60 lbs on it.

Carol Sue I think I forgot to tell you that DS may not have lung cancer after all. The fluid they took off of her lung didn't have any cancer cells and they never verified that the places on her other lung was cancer. So I don't think she has lung cancer after all. This would be a real blessing.

Today went well. Still eating a little more than I should but it is slowing down. I think it takes a while to get things settled down. The one good thing is that bp and FBG is doing okay.

Hi Mad, Happy Thanksgiving. I saw online that yours is this weekend in Canada.
Im glad your healing went well for your knee and that is going well.

My doctor mentionned the GLP1 drugs but after reading the side effects i didnt want them. I was afraid i would need them long term for my Diabetes. Im looking forward to hearing how this goes for you.

Trish, im glad your DS does not have lung cancer.

Scale still at 183.6. Im surprised that it didnt go up with the Mac and Cheese. Maybe tomorrow. I was hungry during the night again but i didnt get up to eat. Now the hunger is gone. I slept but not exceptionally well according to Fitbit. 7 hours or so, mostly light sleep. My lower back hurt again when i got up and also my knees. My right is the worst but the left is starting, too. Runny nose and cough but no headache.

Trish, the weight loss injection that starts with M is Monjaro, i think. There are several and some are pills. They started. out for Diabetes but they saw that people were losing weight so the prescribed it off label. Im wondering what happens with the blood sugar of a person taking it that does not have diabetes, like your sister. It decreases hunger, appetite and cravings. I wonder about someone likee me who overeats but not from hunger. It seems i only get hungry in the middle of the night. I think i need to get back to fasting more so i can feel hunger without feeling the need to eat. Not buying things i like would help. i have deli turkey in thr house again but every time I eat it Rusty wants some, too. I love deli turkey breast. Sandwiches cause me to eat more bread, even though SL is low carb.

I have often thought of drying out a loaf of SL bread to make stuffing for Thanksgiving. It tastes just like regular bread. My mother always made stuffing from bread but in later years she started using the mixes like Pepperidge Farm. I love stuffing and having it low carb would be great!

Hearing about Canadian Thanksgiving has me looking forward to it. I hope step daughter wants to do it again this year. she has so much more room than I do and everyone pitches in with food. She also invites her DHs sister and her family, but i would not have room to invite them. I like helping her. She has done it 3 times now. She also has experience cooking a ham and her DH has a smoker and cooks beef roasts and brisket. One year he smoked a turkey too,so they had roast and smoked turkey.

It sounds like DH is cooking breakfast out in the kitchen.

Im making a chicken and rice casserole that i never made before. A friend made it for a work lunch and ive been wanting to make it but didnt know if DH will eat it. If not, theres going to be a lot for me!

Our dinner was good but not great. I dont think I will make it again.

The Steelers are playing but i dont know why DH is not watching. Hes sitting outside.
He came in and watched the second half.

I think i will go to bed early again tonight. I'm tired.

Just realized I never wrote Sunday. I will write in the morning. I spent the day looking at different Advantage Insurance plans on a website I have used before. I found 2 that I like but want to talk to the finance lady I've become friends with at oncology before I decide. I can keep all my doctors except for my dentist as far as I can tell. Nothing as good as what we have now, but things were going up any way.

Carol Sue UnitedHealth seems to be associated with AARP and the 2 offers I saw are rated almost 5 stars.

I'm tired. My neck has been sore all day as I must have laid wrong last night so I'm going to take a Tramadol and go to bed.

i think my BIL has United HEALTHCARE because he says he has AARP.For years he had no insurance then had regular Medicare then he called the number on TV and they gave him this. I think they are all good depending on your needs.

Sleep was good with no Benedryl. I read that I should not take that with Pulmonary Hypertension. I used my CPap for the first time in months.

Weight is up to 184.4 but im not surprised with all that rice. The rice was good, the chicken was dry.

Today we will go to Bob Evans for breakfast, then to Goodwill, then Walmart.I have a list ready. I dont know whats for dinner today. all i have is pork chops and ground beef. I could make meatloaf or any ground beef dish, grilled pork chops or pork and sauerkraut. I need new kolbassi because i bought the wrong one last time. DH ate it, but i usually buy skinless so its easier for him to eat but hes eating the skim on. i bought some bratwurst because i like it but i dont know how to cook it.

I will ask DH if he wants lasagna. i would like that.I have everything except Ricota cheese. I bought Great Valu sauce and want to try it.

Carol Sue I'm sorry your chicken rice dish didn't turn out the way you had hoped, but at least you now know you don't like it or you might find a way to change it so you would like it. I hate it when something doesn't taste like I expected, but at least I know to scratch off my list of foods to eat.

My weight is up to 164.8 lbs, but my FBG was 107 and bp 114/72 which is around where it runs now. So my #s are good but I also need to real in how I eat. We are having Banquet Salisbury steak meal today. Although the calories are not that high for a meal, I think I should have gotten just the steaks by Stouffers and added the sides instead of a meal that has a sugary dessert in it. I will have to remember that next time. The main thing I want to do is eat enough calories but also a limited amount. I want to keep them between 1200 and 1300 most days. The main thing I'm watching is protein and fiber as oncologist told me he wants me to do.

I got word from oncologist who told me that I have to try the oral medication before they can do the shots for my bones. So he is calling in a prescription for Fosamax pill that I will take one time a week. She also told me I have to take calcium and Vitamin D with it plus take it in the morning 30 minutes before 1st meal and do not lay down for 30 minutes after taking it to keep me from having acid reflux. If I have problems with acid reflux, then we can do the injection or infusion. Insurance rules evidently.

I also talked to finance about the insurance change and she told me that many of the people have UnitedHealth and they are excellent at paying out and also are fast at approving treatment needs. She also gave me the name of a place in town that we could meet with and she would be able to help us get the best plan for us, but the 2 UnitedHealth plans I found covers the 3 important doctors we have and they are rated at almost 5 star. So tomorrow when it opens up for us to change insurance, I will sign up for the one I like. I will be glad to have all this taken care of.

DH has found a flea market here in town and asked me if I have ever been there. Well, I've never been a flea market person, but DH said "that would be a good place to walk for exercise". So I'm thinking that may become something we may be doing soon. It made me think of y'all going to Goodwill.

Have a good day everybody.
