  • Usually when i lose a post i can get it back, but not recently. Sometimes i click on The forum again and its there.

    Step daughter got her Jeep and she brought it over. its very nice, 6 years old but looks new. She is happy.

    Neighbor brought us Trump shirts. I dont know where she got them. DH never wears tee shirts but he will keep it. I will wear mine. Hope no one beats me up!😟

  • I feel great this morning. i only slept for a little less than 6 hours but it was good sleep. No wake ups for the bathroom until 6 am. Then i took Tylenol and laid down for another hour or two, reading. Scale is up 1 6 lbs but im not surprised. last time was after a night of potty issues. Today is after a night of no peeing or BM. And a high carb dinner that included white rice.

    Im still reading the book about exercise and it makes me want to exercise. This morning i was reading about the benefits of starting to exercise after being sedentary!🖐. Most of the testing they did was with people who were already physically fit. It didnt affect weight much but mostly affected how they felt. Most people exercised because they want to feel that "high!". I remember the high from the last time i was exercising regularly. I felt exhilerated. If i had not stopped exercising after meeting DH I might not have had the heart issues i had. The valve was congenital,so i would have still had that but maybe not the bypass. I wonder if my Mother had a bad valve. I dont think she was ever told she had a murmer. I was first told as a teen, and the aortic stenosis was diagnosed in my 30s by a curious doctor. When my mother was treated they just had her change her diet, start walking daily, and lose weight. She lost 50 lbs but i think she gained it back. Its much easier to gain than lose.

    I hear DH cooking breakfast. He bought sausage but i dont want any. But i wont tell him. He would feel bad.

    We are probably going to the casino today. So far we are down to once a week. Now i will shoot for every other week. i dont know how that will go. I dont see it happening. But its a goal!
  • I got my new pc working and am enjoying it. I use it for business and reading about diets etc. They have everything now so that it kind of downloads things from the old backup on the other pc. I will enjoy the research I like to do.

    Carol Sue We have a lot of Trump signs in our addition, but DH says they are braver than he is because he doesn't want anyone bothering us. I love wearing tee shirts around the house, but not sure I would wear one away from home. Just me. I think our whole little suburb would be no problem since I saw a billboard next to McDs that advertises that this is a Republican area. I was shocked they could do that but then we are Texas. Of course, being TX, I would not be surprised if some of the blue cities have a Democrat sign in their area.

    I'm glad your stepdaughter got her jeep. I'm also glad you finally got good sleep last night. I'm beginning to think that what little carbs I eat each day are helping me to sleep. Even though I get up at least twice to go to the bathroom that I have no problem going back to sleep and I sleep sound.

    I watched an ad on FB by Chuck Norris and his wife. After she had whatever her health problem was and they researched to learned how she needed to eat and exercise, it seems that she learned that she didn't to exercise so intensely. I see more people say that, but I do notice that they may not be exercising like they used to, they are more active. Example they hike and work on their ranch. So I think something you read the other day is to be consistent. That makes so much more sense. I was always so active until I married DH #2 and 3.

    Weight has stayed the same for 3 days now and FBG was good and so was BP. We are picking out a tv dinner today. I can't find Swiss meatballs any where so I think they have stopped making them so I found a Healthy Choice steamtable Chicken Alfredo with Broccoli so I will have that with a salad. I read online about eating anti-inflammatory foods and EVOO is excellent food for fighting in. We had to really work at getting her not to cancel. Looks like it turned out okey but won't get full results for 3 to 5 days.

    Carol Sue I'm not sure you can get DH to go to the casino for every other week until you start having bad weather, but not sure how he will handle that since y'all can drive in it up there.

  • Trish, we wont go to the casino while its snowing because we dont know howw bad it will get. But we will go if it has snowed and the roads have been treated. My vehicle is a small SUV and is all wheel drive. We did poorly again today so DH said no more Wednesdays. we will go on Friday next week he says. Wednesday isnt crowded and he can get the machine ghe wants. Friday is crowded and we might have tovgo esrlier. If its crowded they are takingbin more money so they let more machines win. If not,they shut the machines down so you wilva little bit but not many jackpots. This is the way most casinos operate. They are not going to pay out more than they are taking in. They are in business to make money.

    My highschool friend here has been walking outside every day for over 3 years,i forget how long. Now she has started walking twice a day 30 minutes each time. she lives in a very hilly neighborhood. So that is her exercise. In bad weathwr she walkes in her house which she can do a circle from living room to dining room to kitchen to living room, plus she lives in a 3 story townhouse so up and down lots of steps. She thought some day she would move in with her single son but he fell and got hurt so he sold his house anf got an apartment.She is 79.Her son is 57. She started out driving to a nearb find out whats causing it.y tnt potty issues andisgoing to get checked to own where its level but she got tired of driving there every day and started just walking at home. Its amazing she can do that. i used to walk in our neighborhood which is also hilly. but i was a lot younger than she is now. She is having
    a problem with constant potty issues and is going to get checked to see whats causing it. I think its her magnesiym because it is oxide. She asked the nurse at her doctors office and she said that would not cause it but it says online that it does. She believes the nurse. She wont stop taking the magnesium because she gets leg cramps. I told her to take a different magnesium but she seems to trust this nurse. The doctor told her what he thinks is causing it but that was a guess before checking her. I'M waiting to hear how this is resolved. She wears pullups if she goes anywhere and overnight. She has started doing IF and lost 14 lbs but i think it might be from having diarrhea every day. And the diarrhea could be why shes having leg cramps, losing electrolytes. She does not cook. she eats cereal, yogurt,cottage cheese and rice cakes. She said her grocery bill is $15 per week.She used to eat a lot of junk food too but she quit that. She decides she is going to do something and she does it.

    Im glad you got your computer working and you like it.

  • Carol Sue Maybe your DH will finally set on a certain day so you will know each week when you are going plus maybe he will run out of days to go.

    Your friend needs to learn what is causing her issue. She could change the brand of magnesium that will cut that back. I still take magnesium but supposedly the one I use isn't supposed to cause potty issues but I still have some problems. I think it also has to do with other meds I take along with it. Some of my meds cause constipation, the reason I've started eating more fiber foods, but there has to be a happy medium that I haven't learned. I also used to go to the Y to exercise but the more I exercised the more I had potty problems. I stopped going after I had an embarrassing accident before I could get out of there and get home. I remember Richard Simmons saying that the more we exercise helps so we wouldn't be constipated. So I am learning that I need to learn to balance fiber, protein, exercise to make all this work with my meds.

    AC stopped working and waiting for someone to come fix it. Hope it isn't expensive as this is when I'm saving for property taxes that are coming up soon. And I hope the wait isn't going to take to long before they get here.

  • Poor sleep last night. Too many things on my mind.

    When I take my magnesium I take blycinate which is recommended by a doctor on Twitter whom I admire and trust. It says online that it does not cause loose stools. when I take it, My bowel movements are more regular but not actually loose. Recently i was reading the label and it said "With oxide" which does cause loose stools. I considered changing to one that was only glycinate but I am sticking with this one for now. I dont think it is causing the potty issues that i get occasionally.

    I bought a bag of small avocados after reading about them online. Last night i ate one before bed. They are primarily healthy fat and fiber. My fasting blood sugar was 110. Thats amazing for me. I did not get hungry during the night the way I do if I take G. I am trying to find a way to control this without as much meds since my doctor did not increase it. If i take extra I will run out before the next refill.

    When i had my bowel surgery and had to wear the colostomy bag, I noticed that as soon as i started walking on my treadmill I had to stop because my bowel would activate and i had to change the bag. Thats when i realized that exercise stimulates digestion and bowel movements. But normally you can contriol it until you get to the bathroom but you cant with a colostomy.

    Isnt it funny that I also went to the Y to exercise in my 20s. There we were doing the same thing at the same time but in different cities. I also did it here in my 30s after we moved here. It wasnt long after we married that DH discouraged me from exercising. I think he didnt want me going places with people other than him. That was when i started buying exercise equipment because we had room for it here but i used it sporatically.
  • Thank God we have AC again. Took a while to find someone to answer their phone, but DH finally found an old phone book (we don't get them anymore) and called an ad and the guy came out within a few hours and while it wasn't cheap it was affordable.

    I have blood draw in the morning. I don't have to get up early in the morning, but not sure if I will probably go to bed early because I got up early so I could be in front of a fan in the living room. It's been a good day. Weight was up a fraction but everything else was good. That usually means I will see a loss soon.

  • I cant weigh this morning yet because my app for the scale is on myphone and when I woke up my phone battery was on 0.

    I also cant check my sleep. I woke up 4 times for the bathroom and couldnt fall back to sleep afterwards so i took a Benedryl. I wanted to sleep since i didnt sleep well the night before. DH said i was sleeping in my recliner last night but i donr think so. I will have to check my Fitbit app to see if Fitbit picked it up.

    We have a ceiling fan in our bedroom in case it gets hot, but DH doesnt like to use it. He puts it on high and thats too high for me, too,but its ok on low. I think we only used it once. We already have our furnace on. Its been going down to the 30s overnight and we need it. I'm glad you got your A/C fixed.

    Yesterday we went to Texas Roadhouse and i ordered the smothered chicken dish i told you about. I was disappointed. The chicked seemed to be overcooked. Its my opinion that the chicken is grilled ahead of time and when someone orders it they just put the toppings on and heat it up. I ate some of it and the toppings and brought the rest of the chicken home for Rusry. He loved it! I will not order it again.

    When we go to Texas Roadhouse I get online and sign us up to the waitlist while we are still at home.. When we arrived yesterday there were only a few parking spaces and a lot of people waiting inside. We were called to be seated before all those people. A woman said to her husband. " They just walked in!". Thats the benefit of getting on the Waitlist!

    I. ordered a new phone and it just came. DH has it opened up and brought it to me. He thinks i am going to stop what im doing and set it up. I didnt need a new phone but I needed more time on my Tracfone service and if I buy the phone from QVC or HSN I get a years service free. So instead of buying a year of service I just get a new phone. It took me a long time to understand how to work my current phone but I finally do, and my time is expiring.

    We still have a landline so we still get a phone book but we don't use it. We look everything up online.

    We still havent heard from Home Depot to schedule our Garage Door Opener Installation. This is very disappointing.


  • Weight this morning was 158.4 lbs. Close to being 158.2 but didn't make it. FBG was 95 and BP 110/I]64. That is awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing how this other woe affects my lab #s. That will be the big deciding factor as to whether I will continue eating way or not.

    DS bought her floor tiles from Low's and was disappointed in how long it took for them to get the tiles as they didn't come in when they said it would be. They used to be so good, but not like they used to be evidently. Home Depot is close to us and I hate hearing they may not be as good at getting things done either. They could at least call y'all instead of saying nothing.

    I slept good but was up 4 times because I had to do the 24 hr pee test yesterday and this morning. We will take it in when I get my labs and get another jug for next time.

    We're going to the grocery store when we leave oncology and today DH wants Chinese food. It is a good day to eat it because I had a good 24 hr fast by the time we get home to eat.

  • When i was getting my new washer and dryer I ordered the washer from Home Depot. They were out of the matching dryer. This was during the pandemic and they were out of a lot. One day I was looking online and saw that Lowes had the matching dryer so I ordered it. I know they dont have to match and I never had matching before but these both had the features i like at a good price. They are GE. I had a GE stove that i hated and swore I would never buy again but the washer and dryer are fine. It took me a while to learn how to use the washer but DH understood it and helped me. It is an unusual way to get the water to fill the tub. It has a setting for a short wash cycle and i like that because my clothes do not get dirty and dont have to wash for a long cycle. They just need to be freshened up.

    All my chocolate is gone and I dont intend to buy more. Same with ice cream but i cant stop DH from buying it. I have 1 more bagel left. These are my problem foods that i swear i will stop eating.

    I see DH has started a shopping list so we might be going to Walmart before Monday. Maybe we can go to the local store and get the things we need right away. I'm not in the mood for Walmart today. For one thing,i have a bad habit of making impulse purchases of things I dont need to be buying. I want to do better at sticking to my list.

  • I actually bought everything on my list and stopped. It is unusual for me to stick to the list and not impulse shop. DH bought a package of beef and pork, but that was the only meat we bought. He started to buy tilapia, but I told him that I we have swaii that I like and when we have fish, I can eat the swai and he can have the tilapia. Besides it gives me more protein and I like swai better than the tilapia.

    I have to finish tracking on MFP. I'm sure my calories are higher today because of the Chinese food although we never eat the whole order. We probably eat half of about a third of it. I've slept all evening and woke up with a leg cramp that I haven't had in years. I probably scared the crap out of DH because I woke up yelling I was so shocked. I think it caused by the combo of the Fosamax and the different brand of cancer medicine. In fact, I read that the pains I'm having in my neck and shoulder along with the upper respiratory infection I had can be caused by Fosamax. I have to take one of the Fosamax pills in the morning. Perhaps I can figure out what is causing a lot of things I don't like so I can decide if I will continue to take it. It depends on what the side effects are of the shots or infusions are as to whether I should switch to one of them. For now I hope I can sleep tonight without any more cramps.

    Turns out my calories were good today. Only 1212 calories. but not enough protein today. I will try to make it up tomorrow.
  • Fitbit says i slept 7.5 hours. I got up 4 times to pee and 2 times with potty issues, so scale is down 1.1 to 182.2 as a result. Ladt night we had fried fish for dinner from my favorite place, but it wasnt as good as it used to be, but I know my tastes. have been off lately. I ate too much during the day so iI wasnt hungry enough to eat dinner. I have to stop that. Its just a bad habit because for years i didnt eat dinner.

    I hope you find the source of your leg cramp and can stop them. I was getting them from Lasix until I stopped taking it. I dont seem to be getting puffiness. When I wake up my ankles are thin. They sometimes get puffy later in the day especially if I'm walking a lot or standing. They say it can come from sitting too much which I do.

    I cant make fish at home because DH only likes deep fried, breaded or battered.
  • Carol Sue Glad you got good rest. I went to bed early and slept good and only got up twice to go pee. I got up around 8:30 because I woke up and wanted to take my once a week Fosamax pill. It seems to give me feeling of mild heartburn which I don't really to let it get worse. I have a feeling I will have to switch to the shots. Will find out Friday when I talk to my Team nurse at oncology.

    I got some of my test results on the portal this morning and they seem to be checking less things but the things they do check seems to be steady. Still waiting for the C 125 and the 24 hr urine test results to come in. They may not come in until late tonight or even Monday. However, the other tests I got today seems to show that my woe is working well. The main thing is I don't want to gain weight.

    I heard that wife of DGS in SC is in the hospital with symptoms of a mini stroke. She is in early 30s. I read recently that a lot of young women are having mini strokes. They ruled out a stroke, but he said they are going to have to be more serious about their eating. I hate seeing that problem so young.

    Haven't heard from DS but then that is not unusual when we have a busy day. We both come home and crash.

    I did my HIIT exercises and did some housework. That maybe it since I don't usually exercise on the weekend. Might still do the vibe machine. Right now I'm tired and would love to take a nap, but may not do that. Not sure why I'm so tired.

  • Trish, what HIIT exercises do you do? I wondered because they are High Intensity.

    ​​​​​​I wanted to make pork and sauerkraut but we have no sauerkraut. I told DH I have to fry the pork chops since they are defrosted. I had 3 boneless loin chops and 2 bone in. I love bone in but DH will only eat boneless. So i cooked them on my grill pan and made rice pilaf and frozen peas. It was very good. Thats the first full meal I've cooked in along time.

    I ate some ginger snaps I bought and they upset my stomach. In the trash they go! Ginger is supposed to settle your stomach. I've eaten them in the past and liked them.

    I still get tired easily but dont really know why. Its possible that the Fosamax is making you tired since you just started taking it. I seem to get tired after I eat. thats what I've noticed lately. Maybe I'm eating too much, or too many carbs.

    I'm glad you are getting your test results and i hope they are all favorable.

  • Carol Sue I use an exercise band and put my feet in it so that I can sit in my recliner sitting up straight up and I lift my legs and make circles and even move them from side to side. I do 20 count of each. I made up my own way of doing this. I do both legs and then do right leg and then left leg. It really makes my legs feel stronger after I do them.

    I ate 1374 calories.

    I like the bone in pork chops but we eat boneless because that is what DH likes. I also love ginger cookies, but haven't had them in a long time.

    DH and I both were talking about how we are always tired after we eat our main meal. Doesn't seem to matter how much or little carbs we eat.
