Trish, i think you should still watch carbs but not count vegetable carbs. Fruit has more sugar than vegetables do but you can eat berries which i know you like. Mainly avoid anything that feeds cancer . Read about foods that fight inflammation. I know you will figure something out thats beneficial for you..
im starting to get it into my head that i can make changes to improve my weight and blood sugar. I am gaining confidence in myself, what i know i need to change. And i know you can do that too!
The casino sucks!

I am watching Dr. Li again. I found him tonight and want to watch more of his videos. He talked about foods you need to eat and what foods to avoid for good circulation in your body. He also talked about what you should and shouldn't drink. He has convinced me to drink green tea and coffee and drink my coffee black because there is something in black coffee that cuts off the flow of blood to cancer. I will continue eating some of the foods I eat now, but will add some foods I need to be eating while fighting cancer. He does encourage IF. I'm fasting right now and will until after I weight before infusion. May take Protein shake to drink while I'm having infusion.
Tomorrow I have infusion and we will go to the store on the way home. Not sure what we will eat. Could get a pizza. I sure hope DH doesn't want Long John Silvers. I'm not in the mood for it.

Sleep was fair. Didn't go to bed until 3 am and got up at 9:45. Scale up .2. Hi was very hungry when I got home from the scrappy casino. I made an egg sandwich.,so I broke my fast. My blood sugar was a little high wen I went to bed but I was too tired to get up to take meds. FBG this morning was 119,thats good for me, or not really as bad as some I've had.
I was reading about Green Tea last night. I would like to be able to get bottles of cold green tea. A woman at work drank it every day. I guess I could brew it and let it cool. Thats what they recommended.
I started drinking black coffee years ago. I used to use creamer but never sweetener. Its an acquired taste. Probably very hard for anyone who used sweetener.
I would love to be able to get LJS. They closed our local one years ago and its a long drive to another one.
I pray that your infusion goes well!🙏

Carol Sue Looks like we are both working on our woe. I am going to be tweaking my plan. I'm not sure I will ever follow someone else's plan 100%% but I will make changes where necessary to be as healthy as possible and hopefully eventually cancer free. Weight up .6 lbs but FBG was 107 which is good. It was 103 the day I had blood drawn. I didn't do the ketone stick because I'm not going to be doing keto or very low carb. I re-ordered Dr. Li's book so I can read it while getting infusion. So many things have improved on my blood work, but something isn't working right when it comes to my BUN/Creatinine ratio because my BUN is high. I think if I learn the foods that I need to be eating or not eating to correct that then I can get that down as well.
I need to keep the protein at a good level, but I need the fiber from fruit, veggies and some grains to fight cancer and keep my FBG low. Those are things I can't have on keto or low, low carb. I don't want to change things much today in case of potty issues so will begin tomorrow. I will start eating steal cut oats for breakfast again with Greek yogurt and fruit. I know I have to be careful with the fruit in order to keep blood sugar reading down. I will start eating beans and healthy grains in moderation or small amounts and go back to eating some of the veggie that I love. I stopped eating a lot of that stuff when I had such bad side effects of the hard drugs to fight cancer.
Some things will take some work to get used to such as I definitely want to learn to drink my coffee again. I drank it black for years and then they came out with my favorite flavored creamers. I will have to learn to like green tea although he names some others that I like better like oolong and matcha teas. Those teas are important for getting rid of the visceral fat and replacing it with the brown fat which is supposed to be better. They claim it helps you lose inches around your waist. That would be nice. Plus they have cancer fighting things as well. One difficult thing will be giving up bacon and a lot of processed foods/meats that you can eat on keto diets. I don't have to give them up completely but not eat them as often as I do now. Eating the oatmeal should help with that because I love oatmeal too.
I've done half of my home exercises already and of course I will walk at the grocery store. I need to go make a grocery list so I will go for now.
Have a nice day and I'll try to check in again later. Couldn't talk to DS which means she is probably in rehab. She is working hard now to get home so she can get her treatment started in 2 weeks. DBIL is meeting us at oncology to get her wheelchair they loaned to me. Her birthday is tomorrow and I'm wondering if perhaps they might take her home for a short time if she is able so we can celebrate it with her there sometime this weekend.
Did you know they won't treat cancer while you in a nursing home or rehab? Not sure why. I remember that is why I refused to go to rehab center when I left the hospital because I wanted to get my infusions.
Infusion went very well. Even better was my doctor's appointment. I think I'm going to learn to trust my doctor better and stop worrying about things that I don't understand. Although my CA 125 was up, he seems to think it is coming down although it looks like it is up. He showed me on the chart how the #suddenly stopped and stabilized starting to come back down. I asked him if my biotin was interfering with my test results, but he said no. I also found out that my medication isn't chemotherapy but I'm on Immunotherapy myself and he explained how this medication works, It blocks the blood flow toward the cancer cells so they can't grow. We talked about the high BUN and BUN/Creatinine is probably from me being dehydrated. I willl kick up the liiquids in my diet. I was more hydrated today and my infusion went great. They used my hand for the IV needle, and I have to say being hydrated made it much easier and less painful to start. I read and DH went to the store to get a few things that we need. I'm usually too tired to go any where after infusion,
We got pizza on the way home and I must have been starving as I ate half of a small pizza, but I won't eat anything else today. I will drink some tomato juice later instead of eating anything and the rest of the day will be water and tea. I've had one cup of black coffee with a very small amount of Stevia in it. Tomorrow I will eat oats with strawberries and blueberries which together helps fight cancer growth as well as protects my arteries. A good way to eat.

Trish, why are you taking Biotin? Im assuming to grow your hair back. I was taking chromium picolinate then read that combined with biotin it will improve glucose in overweight or obese diabetics. I didn't notice any improvement, and I don't need it for my very thick hair, But My thumbnails grew very long, and he trimmed my toenails today and said they were very hard to cut. Im assuming that's because of the Biotin. Is it helping for your hair? If it is I'm going to get some for step daughter. She has badly thinning hair. She will try something for a week and then say it doesn't work. She was told that her hair loss was due to stress.

1239 calories today. I wanted something else, but it was after 8 pm and I had counted the pizza high calorie because I had to guesstimate it. So I'm drinking water for the rest of the day. I did learn that I don't have to change my diet although I'm not sure there is any way to keep my carbs below 20 grams. I looked through the lists of foods for each thing it is supposed to fight cancer and there are some that are in all the lists. Sorry right now my mind is tired and I think there are 4 lists. I will probably take the foods I like that are in all of the lists and make them a part of my eating plan. I also found a list of guidelines for the immunotherapy medicine I'm on and it suggests eating 3 small meals and snacks. I'm so used to how I'm eating now that I don't think I will change that. I'm used to eating 2 meals and a small snack and will probably continue that routine as long as I have no problems.
Carol Sue sorry you lost your post. I don't know if biotin helps my hair or not, but I started back on it for my nails as they look terrible.
I talked to DS after I got home and she had a good day but she is tired. She talked to her DD and they decided not to move her to the rehab where DD works. For one thing it is very expensive and DS doesn't want to spend the money. Plus the Lord has put nurses and workers in her path there at the nursing home who have had kidney cancer and they encourage her and pray for her. So she believes God has sent her to that place. She has talked to the social worker and they have decided that when she can us her walker to walk to the restroom and back to the bed or chair that she can go home.
I'm tired tonight. I may go to bed early tonight. DH's sinuses are bothering him and I hope he isn't getting sick because I want to go see sister this weekend and I also want to go to church this weekend. But will do what we can do.
I've been sleeping very well at night and only have to get up 1 or 2 times during the night.

I slept 10 hours and 13 minutes. I got up once for the bathroom but it was before I fell asleep. I went to bed when DH went to bed. I usually go in later.
Scale was up .2 to 181.8.. Blood sugar was high. I didn't take blood sugar meds at bedtime but because blood sugar was ok. I was afraid to take it and get a low during the night.
U think DS should have rehab where she is comfortable, and it sounds like this one is great for her. It will be as good as she makes it. The harder she works the better it will be in the long run. Is she eating and sleeping? Both are important for healing as is exercise. I think its up to her doctor to request home nurses and rehab. She should speak up and ask for it. It will not benefit her if she lies in bed or sits in a chair. That also applies to me. I need to practice what I preach.
I agree that you should continue with 2 meals and a snack if that is working well for you now. Go according to how you feel. Your instincts are always good and you are eating healthy now.
Im taking the Biotin again too because of my nails. I have never had nice nails. Step daughter has beautiful nails. I think she eats a healthy diet except she is lactose intolerant and cannot have dairy. I would hate to give up cheese. I don't eat a lot but like dishes that contain cheese. She rarely eats sweets. They are mostly meat and vegetable eaters. They are both thin. Unfortunately, she does not exercise. I gave them my old treadmill when I got a new one and also my weight station that I didn't use. I don't know if they use them. He used to run every day but I don't think he can now with his work schedule. He has a physical job.
Prayers continue for you and your sister that health improves for both of you and for your families that they will participate in your healing. 🙏🙏

Haven't heard from DS, but I'm sure she is in rehab and her DD from MI either came in last night or this morning. I never heard when she was coming. I wanted to see her while she is here, but DH was sick all-night coughing and we won't go around them. Looks like weekend of staying home. I slept good when I slept but not a full nights sleep. I couldn't go to sleep until he was able to settle down and sleep. He is sleeping now and I hope it helps him feel better.
I think DS will do fine. She was excited about being able to get up and go to the bathroom and take a shower yesterday. Some of the food isn't all that good so her DD who is staying with her and working at a rehab cooks healthy and takes it to her Mother so she can get stronger.
Weight was up to 159.2 lbs this morning. Too many carbs, shouldn't have eat all that pizza which I have never eaten that much before. My FBG was 115. I'm not sure I will change my woe. I did for today and my calories are good around 1090, but I had steel cut oats and I didn't like them at all. If I'm going to eat oatmeal, I like old fashioned. I'm thinking since Dr. Li says you can do this with any diet plan, I will go back to low carb tomorrow and just be sure to drink black coffee and green tea during the day along with water. I do like oats to keep cholesterol and bs in check and will use the old fashioned oats but will have to get those when I go to the store next week. However, most of my food will be low carb using what helps build my immune system and fight cancer according to Dr. Li's book. I already eat some of these foods so won't be big changes.
I need to exercise, but I feel like I need a nap first.

Oh brother! I knew DH was going to want to go to the casino because he put my small tablet AND Kindle on charger, first thing this morning. Now he scrubbed the kitchen floor and also the carpet in the living room, dining room, and hall. How can I say No? 😆😅😃😀🙄. I tried but was not successful. It will be more crowded being Friday. Friday night all the young people come in with their dates. I want him to win a jackpot!!💰💰💰. I just wish that the day will come when he gets tired of this! 🙏🙏
Im surprised you don't like steel cut oats. I like them and make them at home. They used to have them at Bob Evans but now they just have oatmeal. I will go back to making them now that the weather is getting cooler.
Thats good that DN is cooking healthy food for DS. She needs it. She has very good support.

Carol Sue I guess your DH just can't help himself. He reminds me of a child. When I was a young girl and I wanted to go somewhere special, I would do all these extra housecleaning so that my Mother would tell me I could go. LOL I hope it will be a good thing for y'all.
Talked to DS and she was tired but she had been to rehab. She is planning to get out of there and go home Monday. She has appointment with her Primary Wednesday and she goes next Friday to hospital as outpatient to get port inserted and then will start her treatment some time the following week.
I don't think I told you that they changed the brand of medicine I got yesterday. It is supposed to be the same medicine just from a different pharmaceutical company. Not sure what was different about it but stomach was a little upset during the night and again this morning. Since DH feels bad, we had soup for dinner.
I listened to some more of Dr. Li's videos and one was on circulation in feet and legs. I know DH and I both had better BS readings etc when we ate beans/legumes. They are good for circulation, so I am going to start eating them again. Also dark chocolate is good for it as well. I used to eat both of these foods but stopped them on keto. Now I know why the feeling in my feet are worse. I only have one partial bag of white beans that I will cook from scratch tomorrow for our dinner. We like them as a soup or as a side dish. I do have some canned beans that DH won't eat and I will have a serving of the low sodium pinto beans I have for supper tonight. I am drinking plenty of the tea, black coffee and water today.

Lost another post.
DH is very childlike sometimes. But im glad he does these things. He can be very helpful when he wants.
I only cooked beans from scratch one time. My mother made great bean soup and baked beans from acratch. I like beans but want to avoid the sodium in canned. I'm going to try dry beans again. If i eat the things i like DH still wants me to eat with him then i overeat. Can i just blame this all on him? 😄😄

The casino was really terrible. Even he was very disappointed, but probably not enough to stop going, or go less often. He said he needs something to do so I said "Find something! " He gets mad that I read so much but at least its not costing anything.
I soaked my beans all afternoon and evening and now I have them in the crockpot on low so they will be ready tomorrow to eat with our pork chops. I'm surprised that beans don't have a load of carbs in them.
I've done low carbs for so long and don't really want to change so I've decided to stay on low carb and just add a few things that have a little more carbs but that will fit into my low carb plan to help with my circulation. It is nice that both DH and I like beans.
DH must be feeling better tonight as he is cooking his cauliflower to eat before he goes to bed. Hopefully we will both get a good night's sleep tonight.
Sorry y'all's trip to casino was terrible, but then I guess you have to have bad days as well as good ones.
