Thank you very much! I, too, remember us starting at about the same time and look at you now! Do you think it has made a difference with your weight loss, honestly? One of my problem areas are my legs, especially thighs and was wondering if the running might help tone that area. What's your opinion?

lmickley - Don't beat yourself up too bad. We all goof. The important thing is that you pick it back up and keep going.

Maybe go WI on Monday instead?

Noahsmama,

You are so very welcomed~I do think it has made a huge difference not only in my weight loss, but also the physical transformation. As the pounds are coming off the running is toning my body, so my body is pulling itself together without sagging, jiggling (other than existing fat) and I'm firm. I can tell the difference in my legs most at this point, even the lovely lady who does my pedicures noted how strong my legs were and she kept squeezing my calves, it was funny. What I think is the best proof is when I completely went off program for the 6 weeks I was overseas for vacation...I kept up with the running and while eating absolutely off plan...I mean I ate and drank everything without a concern, just having way too much fun...and I gained only 7 pounds during the 6 weeks...I have since loss the 7 pounds in 10 days...so a lot of it was water weight from having way too much salt and not getting my water in. So I believe the running kept my metabolism burning... The C25K does get easier, my 20 year old daughter just started the C25K because she has seen how my body is transforming...she does not have a weight issue at all, she just wants to improve her physical self. I did do MRC diet 3 years ago, my very first attempt and lost weight, however i did not run and my body did not respond the same as it is now, my stomach became loose, my arms too...this is not happening now and I have lost more weight this time during the same number of weeks on program. Hope this helps!

I used to do c25k in the gym but never finished. It sounds like the program is doing great for ypu. Do you run outside or inside? I would like to start the program again but wondering how you do the timing ouside? When I did it in the ym I just watched the timer on the treadmill.

When I started the C25K plan I ran only on a treadmill inside, to keep everything consistent ie. weather, timing etc. I used the podcast going completely through the I program. However, now I am running outside because I am training for a 5K which is of course outside and I want to be assimilated to outdoor running environment with all the different elements, wind, hills etc. I am still using running music and have mapped out my routes using an online source which calculates the mileage and I just time myself. Using the podcast outside or calculate actual distance are options. I enjoy running early in the morning outside the most, however when it is raining I use the treadmill, both are different experiences, I get a better workout running outside because I live in an area with lots of hills, and when I run on the treadmill I run at the same level working on speed.

Hmmmm...to tell or not to tell. I can only say what I would do...and I wouldn't say a word. Or maybe it would really depend on which counselor I got that day. Most I feel I can confide in, but there's this one that kinda looks down her nose at you...Anyway, here's to a happy, healthy you!

Lmickley,
I would tell them. Everyone falls off occassionally but you are picking yourself back up. Tell them you ate off plan, felt yucky, etc. You are human will make mistakes get back OP and you will be just fine. You have come so far keep it up and just remember next time you have a craving like that how icky you felt afterwards. I have to tell myself often that 15-20 minutes of tasting the things I crave is not worth how bad I feel mentally and physically after the chewing!

Default Just Started Back--Now Surgery !

Hello Everyone ! Checking in and seeing how wonderful everyone is doing! I weighed in today and have now lost 13 pounds in 9 days I am so thrilled !!!!!! But.....found out this past week that I have to have a hysterectomy--have to stop taking all the vitamins/herbs until after surgery and may have to stop the diet for a couple of weeks until i'm healed.

I talked to the girls at my center and they are going to put me on medical leave. So, when I'm able to come back, I'll still have my weeks. Trick is going to be staying op while in the hospital and recovering. I'm going to do my best ! Lastly, surgery day is September 1st and my birthday is September 2nd. What a way to spend my birthday. Oh well ! There is always next year.

Default Veggies

Any suggestions on making veggies more appetizing? What veggies do you like and what's the best way to prepare? I am still struggling to stay on plan, getting tired of the same old stuff. The problem is, I need quick and easy...With school starting back and kids, there is somewhere to be every night!

All,
I am going to start the meal replacement shakes a couple of times a week but I want to make sure I have it straight on what I was told at the center, which was.
1 for protein replacement at lunch but still have HNS and veggies

2 for protein replacement at dinner but still have starch and HNS.

If someone could verify that for me I would greatly appreciated it.
