Hello all! I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I signed up at MRC yesterday and started preconditioning this morning. I have 30 pounds to lose and I'm looking forward to it!
Hello all! I am beginning to get a bit frustrated. I finished preconditioning and have been on the yello menu since Monday and now I am on the blue. I will begin the green menu on Wednesday, but I am considering just going ahead with the green menu today. I have been OP except not eating all the raw veg that is required. I have not lost since the 3lbs on preconditioning. I went to WI yesterday and found that I am up .5 lbs! I think I might be retaining some water from exercise and maybe I have had too much sodium sneaking in my diet with eating taco seasoning (got the spicy kind and did not realize it was sooo high in sodium). Or could I already be on a plateau? My at home keeps going between 196 and 199. UGGH! Any advise?
I plan to stay OP but want to start seeing some lbs come off. I hope I am not in starvation mode from the small amount of calories on the yellow and blue menu....

I will be having to purchase more HNS's today at WI, and I have heard about purchasing them on line being much cheaper...I guess I am confused, because if I heard right, if you buy 10 boxes, it is $90. I wonder if that was just a special at the Food Class to new members or if that is all the time? I will find out, but isn't that the same price on line?
For those who are drinking the HNS's in water...how in the heck do you squeeze every last drop out of them?? At the price of them, you don't want to be wasteful...lol.
At first I was adding a bit of water to the packet after I had squeezed all the HNS out that I could - adding water 3 times got almost all the HNS out. The I started using a silicone spatula (or something with a flat surface) to push the remaining HNS toward the hole. Doing this two or three times got enough of the HNS out I could throw the plastic away. I have been known to tear it open and lick all the mixed berry off the plastic, but I am quite perverted.
Case in point, I like the grapefruit powder althought after the first week, I always put a Mixed Fruit Fiber packet in with the grapefruit with 8-9 oz cold water. I cut a corner off the powdered packets to pour the powder into my water bottle, then I cut the whole end off and a slit up the center of one sid and tear the two flaps open carefully because there always seems to be some powder left inside. I carefully fold the packet in half and pour the remaining powder in the water bottle (and then I lick the inside of the packet, especially the fiber - see I told you I was a pervert!) I figure, as much money as I'm spending on these HNSs I want all the goodness I can get out of them!! jeanette
My reading showed I should be at 146. I changed it to 130 because that is where I feel I would be the healthiest. At one time I weighed 108 but that was after boot camp and I felt very sick all the time. Then I had 3 kids, got out of the military, got divorced, went to nursing school and had been slowly expanding the whole time. I remember being 130 and that was the best I felt.
That seems very reasonable. I won't push what I was concerned about as I don't want to cause a prob., but what if you had told them that you wanted to be 100 or less....would they have told you that could/would be unhealthy. What if I went in and said I wanted to be the 130 that I was in high school; would they guide me away from that goal? Would my body stop in the 150/160 range and stay in a plateau for a long while to give me time to change my mind? This is what I would hope it would do.

Oh hon....don't get frustrated. I hate to tell you this but if you are not eating ALL (and I mean ALL) of the food your body will not lose (may even gain). It is because you are not getting very many calories and if you don't eat it all it will send your body into starvation mode....it will hold on to everything you have because it is afraid it won't get enough later! Watch this.....I would stay on the blue menu and eat everything on it.....make sure you are getting everything that you are supposed to and see the scale move.

I do the 10 for $90 all the time. It is on going! Sometimes you can get it online for $7.99 or less depending on how much you buy and if it is on special.

Jeanette, I have been none to freeze the mixed berry and eat it like that...and it is the kind I keep in my purse. Even if there is no water, I can have that HNS because I will just suck it down. LOL

Thanks, JewlieK for your encouragement. I have decided in order to get everything my body needs I am going to just start the green menu. I know there is no way I can eat 8oz of raw veg, so instread of not eating enough I will just bypass the rest of the blue menu and not tell them. I am not really sure what the purpose of the yellow and blue menus are except to jump start weight loss.

As jeweliek said the 10 for $90.00 are always available. The online website I have used it dietdirect.com and I purchased the concentrates when they were on sale for $7.99 a box. Purchase 12 and price went to $7.59 a box, Orders totalling $99.00 and you get an additional 10% off. And free shipping kicks in at $79.00. I think I got 13 boxes and the total dropped to around $89.00, sorry I don't remember the exact amount
They have different sales each week, starting on Monday. I purchased concentrates sometime in July--very fast shipping ordered on Wednesday got them on Friday. I don't know what the rotation of their sale ads are however; as I haven't seen the concentrates on sale since then. At that price a box is just under $7.00--***

My mom and I (who's also doing MRC with me) went together and puchased 48 boxes and actually ended up getting them for something like $5.75 or somewhere very close to that a box. I know not everyone can afford to do that or has someone else to split the cost, but if I see that again you bet I'm going to buy them!
To keep the center 'happy', we also go in together and purchase the 10/$90 and split the cost. It's worked so far.
here's a question: i checked out dietdirect.com but can't figure out where the MRC supplements are. i know they're probably not branded "metabolic research center" on this site since MRC sells its own stuff, but what brands are the equivalent, and where on the site should i look for them? sorry, i know this is a total newbie question, but uhh.... i'm a total noob

Under Categories look at Protein diet foods and select what you are looking for concentrate, bar, drink, etc.
Products will either be Bariwise or Protidiet or Wonderslim. Best thing to do is to sit with an MRC package and compare products. Click on the product label and it will bring up a tab that has supplement facts. Use that to make your determinations

I have been on this plan almost a week, and I'm having a hard time getting down eggs and cheese every morning...sure sounds like alot of eggs. Next Friday, our cooking class is focusing on breakfasts, so hopefully that will help. Oh how I miss a cup of Grape Nuts and skim milk.
If anyone has any suggestions on breakfast...I am all ears....(oh my....if that's true, I have some dang fat ears)
Okay...it's day 2 of preconditioning and funshine is huuuu-ngry! Drinking so much water I'm floating to try and help with the tummy growls. I'm thinking I'm going to have to become more of a veggie person...
