Loveamy, i wouldn't eat it at dinner, but that's just me.

Karen..what can I say but awesome job and a BIG congratulations!! You're doing phenomenal. I hope I start showing some results like you soon. I'm due to get measured on saturday and I just hope there's some movement! I found out there's a running store here in my town..I'm scared to go in there because of $$$. I did buy a pair of Asics today ($112 argh). But they felt amazing in the store. I guess what could it hurt to go to the specialty store...except spending $$. Again, congrats and you deserve it!!

Fiftieslady, man you should take your show on the road woman. You're hillarious!! I jsut love readng your posts!
Noahsmama,
If I were you, I would still go to the shoe store and have them look at your gait and assess what shoes you would need...Usually they give you several options, you don't have to buy. Tell them to make a note of the ones that are best and that you will think about it and you may come back. Then you can always check prices around town and online...I doubt many shoes will be much more than the Asics you bought for 112!

That's kind of what I was thinking! It sure couldn't hurt. I definitely don't want to do damage to my knees now and not know it of course. I'm still fairly young (turning the dreaded 30 in Nov) and if I do stick with this running thing I want to be proactive about my knees. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I did just find a pair on EBay word twice right now the bid's at $.99. Would anyone buy a pair of used running shoes on EBay?

Good for you!

Well...If I was the one trying to sell them .... heck yeah...put it a bid girl!!!
Are they new? I mean nothing would be grosser (is that a word?) if they have already been worn....especially to run in...yuck!!!

You lucky...oh to be 30 again....oh to be 40 again...enjoy it, because they are the best years ever....now if you want to talk 50+....then we are talking old!!!! And just think...you get to look forward to having a colonoscopy... so consider yourself very lucky....heck...you don't even have to have a mammogram yet!!!

My question is....all this crapolla you have to drink the night before for preparation, does it count as your water intake for the day????

Well they look brand new in the picture, but the description says they've been only worn twice and on a treadmill. I'm seriously thinking about bidding. It ends tomorrow so I'm going to watch it today

That's what I've heard..that tehse are the best years of my life! Tomorrow is the big wedding that I talked about a while back (that I got my first ever little black dress) and I have to tell you all that I'm SOO super excited. I'm going to get a mani/pedi, get my hair done in a simple up-do and I got my first every spray tan And I'm not even the bride! I am stressing about the dinner. But, I think I'm just going to have a shake on the way up there and so that way I don't have to worry about it. I'll definitely be taking some pictures!

Have a good Friday ladies!

Personally, I would not recommend buying used running shoes, if they have indeed been used, if you plan on using them for running. When you run there are so many factors that go into keeping your body aligned and in balance. Whn you get a new pair of shoes they break in and wear into your specific pattern that is unique to you and which best accomodates your body. When you wear a pair of shoes that someone else has broken in it throws your body off kilter and into the pattern of the previous owner, which can do a lot of damage to your body. I have no problem buying shoes on ebay or 2nd hand if they are not used for exercising (that is unless they are new and never worn.) Just my opinion.

Ooohhhh, NoahsMAMA....
Go have a great time this weekend at the wedding and set that dance floor on fire girl! Knock them out in that skinny little black dress of yours and your gorgeous spray tan then post some pics here when you get back. Don't worry about the food, have your shake then have a bite of this or that and get right back to plan the next day. Whatever you do though, have fun!

We're heading to FL this weekend to see my husband's family... Aunt and Uncle's 50th Anniversary party on Sat. Eve... They have not seen me since I've dropped 52 lbs so I think it should be fun :0)

I will try and get a before and after pic posted after this weekend. I'm terrible about downloading photos to the computer. I'm headed to a wedding this weekend and I'm hoping to get a good picture in my new dress!

Noahsmama - I hear ya on the price of new running shoes, but your knees and ankles are worth it. I've got my eye on a pair that are around that much and I'm praying for a sale! : ) How much are you running these days? I was doing 4 days a week, but my center told me to cut out one day as it was making my body plateau, so I'm doing 3 days now and running another 5k in October. My goal date is on 9/7 and I have 12 pounds to go...I'm going to be pushing it!
