Default Finally a new number!

Well, I think the scale has finally given up on this battle - yesterday morning I hopped on like usual expecting to see "227" and boy was I surprised (imagine that after almost 2 weeks at the same weight) to see 225.5 !! Wow, what relief to finally see a new number! I acutally stepped on and off 2 more times to be sure, LOL... Today it was 225.5 again so I guess it was not a fluke after all... yeahhh! Thanks for the support everyone. Glad I didn't smush-smash the scale after all I'm on week 2 of the C25K program but I have been repeating week 1 and it is getting better each time. I plan to start week 2 this Tuesday. I'm already seeing a difference in my clothes in my hips, legs and waist since starting the exercise. Can't wait to get measured at the center. My sister and her hubby came from FL for a visit - it was soooo great to have them here. I stayed totally OP the entire time. Sis is very small, weighs about 135 at 5'5" but is extremely supportive of me in all my endeavours. Even though she has always been pretty "thin" she too has to watch what she eats in order to maintain it so oddly enough she truly understands. It was so wonderful to have them here and nice to not feel pressured to eat off plan.

Denise -
your inspiration speech was humbling and touching. I enjoyed every word and all the truth that came with it. Thanks for sharing with the rest of us.

Have a great week everyone.

I do take a calcium supplement every day. I have never really been a milk drinker though so I have been taking them for years.

I've seen a couple people post about the C25K. What is that? I'm curious.

Karen, congrats in getting over the plateau...I have been there and know how frustrating it is...I did move on to week 2 and day 2 today on the C25K...I don't see much of a difference in my clothing fitting but my rear is feeling it... Good luck...

I added quite a bit of new info in there since the first time I did the speech, I was at 114lbs lost and now I'm done (at 185lbs lost). I posted it in my blog if you'd like to read it; I've also added a before/after pic.

Have a great weekend!

Denise,
I just read your blog and first of all congratulations on your successful journey!(You look absolutely amazing) And secondly thank you for sharing your story. I believe that I will definitely take a serious look at the classes the center offers and see what issues lie at my over-eating to hopefully be done with this obesity once and for all. I've seen my mom struggle with eight my entire life and i don't want my son to witness the same thing.

Thank you!

But what is interesting is that the sodium level in the organic broth is a lot less than the MRC stuff (70mg vs. 480mg(MRC)). I have used this in my cooking since I started MRC six months ago because I didn't want to waste my HNS on the family when I cooked for us all. I am in maintenance now and I still use the organic broth in my cooking.

Thanks for this info! I could have started the creamies this week, but haven't because of the sodium content and comments I read from other people that they thought the creamies slowed them down. The only time I've gained weight so far at a WI was after I had something apparently salty (I didn't realize it contained so much salt...restaurant meal). So, I think I must be really sensitive to salt and the resulting water retention. I'm drinking more than the 64 oz of water a day, and still felt really bloated after that one meal. So, I'm hesitant to try the creamies. I'll definitely look for the chicken broth you recommend for cooking and just use the clear HNS to get the extra protein.

I have a quick question for all. I got the pre cond meal selector sheet and it seems like a lot of food to be eating. I am not use to eating so much at time. Do I have to follow it or can it just be cutting out junk and stuff?

From what I've done/read, you should try to eat all of the receommended servings. Trust me, I'm 'suppose' to be eating 6 oz. of protein and I'm finding that it is REALLY hard.

For those of you experienced people out there, what happens if you just can't stomach ALL of the 8 oz. of raw veggies or 6 oz. of meat. I know once I hit 199.5 (which can't come soon enough) that I'll be reduced to 4 oz. of meat. Does the veggie serving size go down as well?

Also, can you combine the raw/cooked veggies and do half/half? I don't understand why you couldn't but that may be because of my newness to this program.

Thanks for the suggestion! How do you know how much to use? If the recipe calls for 1 pkg of Chkn. Boullioun HNS...how much is that equivalent to?

The vegetable portions stay the same. From what I understand you can mix the raw and cooked portions to do half and half. The only other thing that I think changes is the number of times that you can have cheese per week.

So I have a question about the Walden Farms syrup. How much can we use, for instance on pancakes/french toast? I'm heading to Wal-Mart to see if they have it! I had french toast the past two mornings and it seemed to be missing 'something' and maybe that's it?!

I am just back from my WI and am down 1.5 pounds since Friday afternoon. I am frustrated right now, because I just started taking a prescription that causes water retention and I was up 2.0 on Friday when I went. Hopefully I will lose the rest of the water weight by Thursday when I go back again.

I am nearly to the 70 pound board (past it on my home scale) and almost to my halfway point (73 pounds). I haven't signed a board in a LONG time and want to get past this.

Great job to all of you!!
