I made the MRC stuffing last night using the HSN Chicken bouillon and it had a good flavor, but was really salty tasting. Has anyone else tried this recipe? I have been hesitant to make some of the recipes because it seems so confusing
trying to figure out the serving sizes and how it fits into your meal allowance. It seems some of the recipes are incorrect in thier measurements. I think I will try to MRC chili tonight.

Also does anyone know if I cook a pot of beans, can I freeze what I don't use? I have never tried to freeze beans.

Ok, Sunday is my birthday and I am trying really hard not go have drinks this weekend. I'm trying to psyche myself up for turning them down. Well, just found out that Friday at work they are having a breakfast for me; bagels and pastries. I can easily stay away from the pastries, but if I don't eat anything I will feel like I am being rude and unappreciative. How would you guys handle it? Should I try to pick and look like I'm eating or try to eat only 40 cals of a bagel? I know I have little cheats sometimes, but I try not to make a habit of it. Advice please?

Denise,

Thank you so much...I will search for that thread!

Ok, I just found the threads for you and bumped them. One is called "MRC6 alternatives" and the other is "after market hns and such".

Good luck.

I know a few people have mentioned the tomato supplement and I agree it tastes bad but when I made the chili recipe in the cookbook using ground beef I just added a lot of chili powder and it completely covered up the taste and the dish tasted like real chili to me. I think with that supplement just add a lot of seasonings and it will cover up the taste.

Also, when we cook our other veggies, we shouldn't be cooking them until they are moosh. Broccoli is a great example of this because it's easy to cook those until moosh. If you cook veggies too much, they lose a lot their good benefits and you are left with more of the bad (again, atleast on this diet) components of the veggie.
maybe they didn't think i used enough to make a difference when i cooked them in my chili cuz the hns is just gross. i'll definitely ask first though.

Like I said before, I love the program, but I think that the chemical balance stuff is BS. You could always try it and see how your body reacts. Let me know how it goes, cause I have been missing pasta sauce like crazy.
i'll let you know what they say.

if the cookbook says it maybe it's not as big a deal then. i mean, they printed the cookbook, unless they didn't read it first.... *shrug*

I asked the ladies at my center and they said something along the lines of the chemical balance of these combined ingredients have been proven to be OP even though it's more than you think you should be eating. Uhhhh OKAY! If I can eat more food and it still being OP, I'm okay with that! But nonetheless...CONFUSING!
i haven't ever cooked out of the cookbook besides the spaghetti and i didn't read any further on how to measure it. i just did 4 oz of the squash and 6 of the stuff... prolly not right but oops ya know.

In terms of the onions, I believe that you should only be eating green onions. The others are higher in sugar (raw or cooked).

Check it out. I guess it depends on what info you get from your center.
i don't like onions anyway so i never paid any attention to them and tomatoes are such a pain to cook that i never thought about having then cooked except with the chili. i really hope they don't say no to the sauce..

i also posted in one place where people were asking about the corislim a link to a lawsuit *the govt website, don't remember now* for false claims on cortitrim which was listed as a substitute for cortislim. it's a big scam cuz it does nothing.

It's still very restrictive but they watch you to see how your body is affected by the extra carbs, etc. They also reduce the amount of HNS you have a day. I'm down to having up to 2 a day for snacks and that's it so that helps with cost. I've heard too many people on this forum say that this is their second time on the diet because they quit before stabilization and maintenance and gained all the weight back. I definitely don't want to do that so I'm sticking it out. I'm still losing too so that's an extra incentive

They usually start you on stabilization about 6 lbs. from your goal so you don't have too much farther to go! The foods they add in over the 6 weeks are still very limited but after being on the green menu so long, they are still delicious. Just to give you an idea, they add in a carb 3 times a week at lunch the 1st week. Some choices from the list were 8 animal crackers, 1/2 C. cooked pasta, 5 saltine crackers. I know....real exciting, huh? I never thought I would look forward to eating a plain old saltine cracker! The second week you get fruit (some different choices like grapes, etc.) at breakfast 3 times a week. The 3rd week you get dairy every morning at breakfast and the 4th week is a carb every day at lunch and a new veggie 2 times a week at dinner (which includes corn, carrots, etc.). I'll try to remember to let you know what I get added this week when I weigh in on Friday. Hope that answers all your questions. I'm the type that likes to know what's up ahead too.
i'm already doing only 2 per day so that won't change. i'm beyond out of money for this diet and it's starting to affect my bills more than i wanted to let it when i started this so it's liable to come down to bills or diet.... I really wanted to do stabilization but don't really see what the benefit of maintenance is yet. i don't think they'll split it either.

i don't think there's anything to cover that taste. my chili burned all to heck when i used it in there and when i used real tomatoes it didn't. the spaghetti one was the worst and i used TONS of seasonings. BLECK!

Thanks for the insight! I'm so looking forward to stabilization. I went in for WI yesterday and my weight hasn't budged over the last week. I was 159.5 on April 21 and I was 159.5 last night. However, they did the full body comps for me because muscle loss was a concern...I lost 2 lbs body fat, gained .5 lb muscle and my water percentage was up from 25% to 33% so I guess my weight staying the same over the last week doesn't really show the real changes in my body. It's just hard to get over that darn pound number.

I did breakdown during my visit at the center last night. I'm so frustrated with not being able to go out for dinner and drinks. My life consists of work, working out and watching tv. I don't have kids...my husband just started his own business in Dec 2008 so he's hardly ever home...and my dogs are lazy! So I've been spending A LOT of time alone at home since on this diet and it's driving me crazy. I can't wait till I can go out and have a drink again.

Maintaining my weight has never been my issue. I was 160-164 lbs for 5 years by eating very well on the weekdays, going a little crazy on the weekends and working out 1.5 - 2 hours a day. When I get down to my goal weight, I plan on doing the same thing. I HATE working out but I LOVE food more than I hate working out. I'm just getting VERY anxious!

Does anyone know if jalapeno's are allowed?I saw the Chicken Enchilada casserole in the cookbook and thought would would taste really good with some.Or maybe even green chiles. Not sure if either are allowed.

Yep, jalapenos are allowed! Just count them in to your 4 oz cooked or 8 oz raw veggies. I eat a whole jalapeno with the taco salad from the cookbook. I'm not sure about green chili's though. Make sure you are using fresh green peppers no matter what though. No canned jalapenos (high sodium).

Congratulations! I only lost 1/2 pound at WI today, but I know I'm retaining water...I couldn't get my wedding ring unless I really shoved it. So, no frustration...I'll just wait for the next weigh in and keep focused. Congratulations to you again, and thanks for inspiring the rest of us!

Wink lost my first 6 pounds

I started MRC last week and this week I had lost 6 pounds!! I am so happy. I think this plan is so easy to stick to. My only problem is finding the time to drink all the protien drinks.
