karen- it only takes 21 days to form a habit (good or bad).
Why not just start walking? Start out with 15 minutes and add on to that as you feel stronger,......Do you have any home equipment or videos?
I think you would really benifit from working out now.....

I don't have any home equipment. The only videos that I have are the one that LAWL gave me when I started and I think another one that is way to extreme to be starting with. I tried it before and about died trying to keep up. I really don't have the room in my house for exercise videos. There is a couch and a table close to the TV. Not to mention, I'm rarely home alone; and I hate to exercise in front of anyone. They look at me like I'm crazy I thought about walking the neighborhood in the evenings, but it is so late when I finish dinner. I can't afford a gym membership right now. I can't afford any exercise equipment or attire (I can't exercise with a normal bra ) at the moment.

I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and dave for some weights a treadmill and some workout clothes.....

Oh, did I mention that I hate to sweat?

Karen, Well you are stubborn and you do have quite the list of excuses there....lol
last year I was gonna buy a cheap workout bench for the basement. Well DH went with me and we ended up (thanks to him) buying a really nice Natilus workout bench with all the weights and a whole set of Nautilus Free weights. BECUZ he was gonna start working out. WELL needless to say - I loved the bench and weights, used it everyday - HE never got started......lol
Before you buy all the equipment - start out walking - make DF cook.....

Yes, I do have quite a list of excuses. I just have to start eliminating them....

DF is not going to cook... I am going to have to work on the time issue.

I am off on the weekends. We usually do our grocery shopping on the weekends. It has become a ritual of sorts. We go to Sams Club, Walmart, and usually Harris Teeter, Lowes, and Food Lion before the weekend is out. I bargain shop.....

I may just have to exercise on weekends. I guess that would be better than not exercising at all... huh?

If I were to exercise on Saturday and Sunday, would that be enough? I haven't figured out how to make enought time to exercise during the week.

What do you think?

You are too funny Yes, I haven't done very good with the exercise either and I have all kinds of excuses that I won't even waste your time on. So, I hear this dieting thing is 80% eating and 20% exercise - something like that. I'm going to focus on getting the eating thing undercontrol and then add back in the exercise. But, I'll post when I start. Actually, I did get a ton of house cleaning done on Saturday and my body still aches here and there

Monday my daughter spent the night with a friend, so when I got off work yesterday I had to pick her up. When I picked her up, she had this pedometer on her hip. I asked her where she got that, and she told me that when her friends mother picked her up on Monday she went by the YMCA and they are giving them away as part of a "Walk across the county" promotion. If you walk 46 miles in 43 days, you can enter for prizes. It supposed to be this big event. So I went by the YMCA on the way home and picked one up for me.

Maybe this will get me started. Since it only takes 21 days to form a habit, this could possibly be what I need to get started......

Wish me luck...

What exercise videos do you suggest?

What kind of treadmill?

I gotta get some ideas here to form a goal.....

Thanks!
