  • For those of us that think Oprah's bootcamp will be alittle bit much...Star said we could have a "Baby Boot Camp"...
That one sounds great for me Star...Can you work up a routine for us for that one...I'll have to start it on July 11th (Monday) My Dad will be in town until the 10th. I'll have too many people in the house for too much activity...
  • Well I wish everyone luck in their boot camp endeavors!

I did another 25 minutes of resistance training this morning. I am still not thrilled with it, and I am still tired in the AM's, but I am a little less sore today than I was yesterday. I am doing cardio again tomorrow, taking saturday off, and then on Sunday going to a paintball party, which should give me plenty of cardio!

I also signed up to check out a kickboxing class that is on mondays and thursday, just to see if I would enjoy something like that. So I go to that one next thursday.

I don't know if I will ever get this exercise thing worked out, but I am not stopping until I reach my goals. I have come to far for myself to give up now.
  • LOL i like the idea of the mini boot camp for those who feel they are not ready for full bootcamp why not just cut everything in half? so you would start out at 15 min cardio maybe still keep the 20 min for resistance training and only add in one additional 30 min workout a week instead of two. So its less but still a challenge. Also maybe cut it back to 5 days a week instead of 6. Just a few ideas........Star cant wait to see what you come up with.

    Britt
  • Britt...It's a "Baby" Boot Camp, not a "Mini" Boot Camp...
I could maybe handle your suggestions..Star, what do you think..
  • Ruby - Hang in there - sounds like you are giving it a good shot! You should go and read what Oprah said where her newest convictions about working out came from. She isn't one that actually get excited at the thought of it either.
Kickboxing sounds awesome, I know I would love that (use to take Karate). Let us know if it brings a smile to your face.....lol
Britt - Baby Boot Camp is gonna be for chicks who need baby steps. Chicks that don't even really like working out and say they can't find time. So I'm thinking for them, just increasing workout time might be enuf to start, but let me think about it for a minute. Another point, if someone doesn't like doing something and they do too much it causes burnout and we don't want that.
  • Star - It isn't my favorite, as is evident, but I know that i have to increase my physical activity to endure and push through the last half of my goal, which I refuse to give up on. But I am definitely excited about the kickboxing class, and some other avenues I have started to explore. So I will keep you posted....no pun intended
  • Morning Fit Chicks...it's FRIDAY

Today was cardio, inner/outer thighs at the gym....same ole same ole..
The part I like the least about going before work is getting showered and dressed, made up and looking decent for work But it is still better than going after work...

Did 3 miles, 45 minutes, 290 calories gone......

Tomorrow is my off day unless we consider marathon shopping exercise
  • Last night i did my 20 min on the treadmill and 100 crunches so i feel good about this. Im leaving going out of town this weekend not sure if our hotel has a fitness area or not hope so!!!! I will keep with it if it does. everone have a great weekend !!!!!!!!!!

    Britt
  • Last night I walked 2.5 miles in 35-40 minutes with co-worker, then another 3 miles with DH (we jogged about .75 miles of it) in about 40-45 minutes. tonight it's to the gym for 40-45 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes of strength training. Tomorrow might have to be a day of rest because my body is sore!
  • Woke up late this morning....ugh. So I skipped the tape, but put on a cd and did some dancing around my living room at high speed for about 15 minutes. But I am okay with things because this weekend should be pretty active. Playing some soccer tomorrow and going shopping, and then playing paintball on Sunday.
  • Jen - You should be sore, when do you have time for anything else but walking? Way to go girl!
Britt - good thoughts about working out at the hotel (unless something better comes up)
Ruby - Paintball sounds like a blast - have never tried it......have fun!
  • Saturday... deeptone... 70 mins
  • Sunday morning
Treadmill..... 75 min... 3.25 miles at 2.6 in my target zone at 116..

    Sunday afternoon
treadmill... 70 min .. 3.0 miles at 2.6 tz 116 I was bored better to walk again I figured then to sit and watch tv and EAT

according to Micheal Thurmond who does the extreme makeover on tv.. We all work to hard well working out and by doing so were burning sugar instead of the fat.. The most effective fastest way to burn your fat is by doing 30 to 60 mins of even paced cardio in your target zone.. eventually getting to 60 mins 5-6 days a week..with strength (resistence) training 2 days a week... on the show he has the people do the even paced cardio 2 times a day morning and evening for 60 min each..
  • Beth - I also did 6 Week Body Makover - I loved the program and I also work out at my correct Target Heart Rate. Matter of fact, early on in the thread I posted what Michael Thurman says about your correct target heart rate. Even though I no longer do his plan I do continue to make sure I'm working out at the correct pace.......
This morning - Gym - Cardio - Treadmill (correct heart rate...lol) 45 minutes, 3 miles....
  • I managed to workout Friday evening after we hit the hot tub and the pool. Oh my goodness the difference between their treadmill and mine was huge! On my treadmill i start off at 2.5 and work up to 3.0 but can only do it for about a min cause its almost into a jog for me. I had read where some of you are doing between 3-4 and im like man i dont know if i can do that lol well i think my treadmill is set differently because...... I started off at 2.5 on theirs and im like this is so slow and went up to the 3.0 and it was 2.5 on mine i was really shocked at the difference. So i ended up doing between 3.0 and 4.0 on friday yay!!! But i still got in my 20 minutes and i did a little over a mile. Didnt workout Sat/Sun!
