Hey chicks,

Friday I went to the gym and did 25 minutes on treadmill and another 20 minutes strength training, then another 10 minutes or so on the elliptical. Saturday I rested, but we took the boat out to the lake, so there was some unplanned exercise ;-) Sunday I did 70 minutes on the treadmill, 5.25 miles. Today it's laps in the pool and a 3 mile walk in the neighborhood with DH later!

Take care,
Jen

Star-Very funny...I just feel better when I'm moving...the guilt of not exercising makes me want to eat...plus if I spend the time exercising that's less time to think about or prepare food ;-)

Okay, forget everything you have ever heard about exercise. I have gained the wisdom and the key to the holy oracle of physical exersion.

Paintball.

Those little suckers hurt so bad, that you are motivated to run your *** off to avoid being shot. Cardio by fear!

But all in all, it was a great time. You get this intense work out without really even knowing you are working out. Lots of crouching, crawling, squatting, running, climbing...and of course, bruising

So I was on the playing field for about 5 hours yesterday, and it was tons of fun. I got home last night and was totally worn out, took a hot shower, tossed on sweats and went promptly to bed.

I got up this morning and was rather sore, but still wanted to continue to try and get habitualized towards an exerccise routine, so I popped in my cardio tape. Now, I am twice as sore as I was before that....LOL.

So I think what I said last week still stands solid....I need to find more enjoyable exercise like what I did yesterday

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Ruby - Paintball sounds like a 'blast'.....lol Exactly the right kind of workout for you, can't find it boring when you are hiding to save your butt!

Literally saving your butt, Star....literally. Although in deference to other vulnerable spots, the butt isn't so bad to get shot in

But yesterday really was a lot of fun, I think it is the key for me....now I am looking forward to my kickboxing class on thursday, I think it will give me a boost.

Ruby - Yes, it sounds like you like a challenge with you exercise - that's great! I kinda find that when riding my bike and roller blading too. Riding my Harley is the best but I'd be really digging to count that as exercise...lol

Beth - if you ask me, the key is to get the first hit over with pretty quickly, because then you know what you are dealing with, painwise. I mean, honestly, those little balls pack a punch, but the pain is over with rather quickly.....like 30 seconds max. The most painful part is the sore muscles today from all the rest of it. I maybe only have 4 bruises max. So if you ever have the chance, I highly recommend it, because it is wicked fun. But don't stay 5 hours

Star - I think that the reason I find these other exercise activities more enjoyable is because there is so much other stuff going on that it doesn't feel like exercise. Where as a treadmill and tapes feels more laborous to me because I am just standing in place, so to speak.

As for the Harley, don't you have to squeeze your inner thighs to remain on the bike and in balance? Sounds like resistance training to me

Ruby - Resistance training on the Harley - Actually my inner thighs have been sore after a long all day ride.....
