emmysmom 02-22-2006 01:45 PM

I can already start to see a difference though...and my abs are still sore from Sunday and then more reverse crunches yesterday...I can feel it when I cough!

It works me hard, and I really feel like I have accomplished something when I am done. I have been doing it for nine days now. BTW, I am a pear too, and there is tons of abs and legs.

Hi :
Thanks a lot for write about the BL DVD and how much you enjoy it. Today I went to Kmart looking for a present for myself for my two painful pounds lost after the TO, and I saw the BL dvd, the perfect gift and good price(9.99 if someone is interested)and when I was looking at it at the store I just had a flashback of all the conversations about it on this site that I just bought it. Tomorrow I am going to start doing it and alternate it with my other workout routine.Katie Thanks for the good recommendation....

Repo girl 02-23-2006 06:28 PM

When I had a personal trainer she said its best to work out on a empty stomache and eat 30-60 mins after you work out. She said people think its best to eat before and then you workout so it burns off the food you ate. She said no, after you. I hope this helps.

deetsmom 03-02-2006 01:42 PM

Katie...obviously youre not having any trouble dropping the pounds since you lost 4 pounds this week, but...when you started this series, did you notice an initial gain? How long are the workouts and would you say they shouldbe done in a really big space or can you work in a smaller area?

deetsmom 03-02-2006 01:56 PM

OMG, the DVD is so cheap at Walmart.com..they charge like NOTHING for the shipping...I just bought it...why not? It would be nice to alternate with other things.

Repo girl 03-02-2006 02:33 PM

I did not notice a gain. I have noticed my muscles showing up. Yesterday I was shaving my legs and was amazed to see real muscles, LOL. You don't need a big space at all. You do need some hand weights, I just use 2 lbs, and a mat. I just use a blanket folded in half. The warm up is 5 minutes, all of the workouts are 20-25 minutes, and the cool down is 20 minutes of really nice stretching. On the weight loss, it was actually 2 weeks. Too bad. I used to drop 3-4 lbs a week, back in the good old days!

deetsmom 03-02-2006 02:35 PM

awesome, I ordered it. I am already pretty toned with the exception of my baby belly, but I think this will be great to try. For $11 total including shipping, I couldnt pass it up

Just wanted to let those who may be interested that I just bought the Biggest Loser DVD on overstock.com the DVD was priced at $8.79 and the shipping was only $1.40 (total of $10.19!)!!

I workout at Contours Express (kinda like Curves only they use real weights not hydrolics) 4 times a week and I want to add the BL workout to my routine because it seems like so many of you enjoy it.

Repo girl 03-06-2006 09:37 AM

Katie you have been working out with the BL dvd for a few weeks now have you seen inches melting away? I hope to be able to fully work out on it once my body gets used to the exercise. I'm getting better to at least do it daily now.

3/6- 15 min on Gazelle
3/7- 15 min on Gazelle
3/8- 15 min on Gazelle

Repo girl 03-08-2006 03:31 PM

Yeah, Barb, I am really seeing the inches go. Also, I am noticing muscles appearing, most noticably in my arms and back. It is time for me to move up to the harder exercises, but I am waiting a week or two, because I want to be sure I am ready, because of the fibromyalgia. Great job getting on the Gazelle. I think that just starting is half of the battle.

BL #1 Embarrassing exercise story: I have had a bad cough for a few weeks. Today while I doing jumping jacks, I coughed really hard, and PEED my pants! I guess that is what 3 kids does to you!

Katie what is BL? And is it worth it? I have been running about 30-40 minutes a day for about the past 10 days. The only problem is ever since I started doing that I seem to be up everytime I go to WI. Any ideas why this is? I WI first thing in the morning before I exercise or eat. I dont get it :?:

Repo girl 03-10-2006 05:57 PM

That is actually a good thing. You are building muscle that weighs more than fat does. It sucks to gain a little when you start exercising, but in the long run it is better because burns more fat than fat does alone. Make sure that your center has you on the appropriate plan though. If you are exercising more than 5 hours a week, you need to be bumped up a plan so that you can continue losing and your body will not go into storage mode. BL is Biggest Loser. I love it, but when I started it I was really out of shape. Being able to run every morning is one of my "wants". I am hoping that by May, I can really get outside and start running with one of my dogs. Keep up the exercise, you know it is so good for you!

30lbsby22 03-10-2006 08:07 PM

thanks katie you are so great and such an inspiration. I will have to check out the BL DVD. It seems like so many of you enjoy it and not only am I looking to lose the weight but also tone up.

Hi Megan:
I bought the BL DVD at Kmart for 9.99 if you are interested. I heard about it here in the site (because Katie mention it) and I really like it. I alternate it with a video of latin dancing and aerobics, but I prefer BL.
Milca

Repo girl 03-10-2006 09:55 PM

Milca, the Latin dancing sounds fun. What is your DVD called?

It's called Zumba fitness is really cool. It have four dvd's#1 is for beginners that teach you the basic steps , #2 is Abs,thighs and buns and is combination of yoga, pilates and basic exercises for that parts of your body, #3 is Advanced that is the basic steps a little faster and combined with aerobics, #4 is Power:carrot: and I love this one because it have a part for kids and my kids love that one because is really fun. What I like about this videos is that the music and the exercises are not like other videos that stay the same music the whole time, Zumba have merengue, salsa, a little of belly dancing, hip-hop, flamenco and others and the guy called Beto combined the steps with aerobics but basically is dancing, and is a bilingual video too.;) You can find them on ebay more cheaper or go to zumbafitness.com. Did I just made a free commercial?:D :joker:

Repo girl 03-11-2006 12:07 PM

I think you did! Anyway, thank you. I have always wanted to dance. In high school me and DH would go to the clubs on country night and 2 step. Sadly, he is really a much better dancer than I am. I really love to go, though. Of course, those were the days of size 3 Wranglers. I had this red pair that fit me perfectly, drove DH, boyfriend back then, totally crazy. I'm not so much of a Wrangler wearer now, but if I can ever get back to a 3, I am going to buy a pair of red ones, just for him.

rad7775 03-11-2006 12:58 PM

Woooo, sexy girl.... You will see that you are going to go back to those size 3 you are doing great in your weight loss. You are an inspiration for all of us!

wp95jma 03-11-2006 07:25 PM

1hr Go-Go Dance at a place near me called Studio Rio (they teach a stripper style workout). This was the first time I went, it was fun and very CORE orientated. My quads and abs are killing me :D !

rad7775 03-11-2006 08:21 PM

Julia and Katie:
My God Girls! We all are going to look like hot mama's if we continue with this kind of dance moves!:belly:

slimmerKim 03-11-2006 08:38 PM

Today I actually ran OUTSIDE. It's so hard for me to run in the "real world". On the treadmill I have been able to get to 3.61 miles in 45 minutes. But when I run outside, I start out too fast, get wiped out quickly, and can't go on.

Today, though, I ran SO SLOWLY that an old lady walking could've passed me by. BUT I did it today. I was able to go 2.4 miles in 33 minutes, which is slower than my usual pace, but at least I didn't get too worn out.

Small milestones. At one time I thought I could train for a long run, but I just don't see that happening , maybe someday.

rad7775 03-11-2006 09:09 PM

Slimmerkim:
You have to be proud of yourself! You did it! All that people that you see running a long way they started step by step. Don't be so hard on yourself.
