My own exercise show, huh? That's rich....I'd be more likely to have my own talk show with Dennis Miller style rants :-)

I'm not at goal yet, but hope to be by the end of september!!!!!!

Star 09-02-2005 10:49 AM

Jen - You are so close - it's just like being there.....

firmingdi 09-06-2005 04:19 PM

Hi everyone. This morning I went for a 30 minute brisk walk. It was a beautiful morning. Working on walking every morning.

Star 09-07-2005 11:23 AM

Gym - Treadmill - 45 minutes - whatever......

Star 09-08-2005 09:49 AM

Wed Night

:dancer: Went to Jazzercise last night...it was body sculpt night :strong: it was good, alot better than sitting on my butt watching tv......
Jazzercise again tonight - and tonight is the real old kind of dancy :dancer: jazzercise. I'm really looking forward to seeing if (or how much) it has changed since the late 80's..........
I'll be back with report tomorrow... ;)

Star 09-09-2005 10:28 AM

Jazzercise last night.......it wasn't quite like I remember it as just way 'fun' It was more work, or maybe that's becuz it was 25 years and 30 pounds ago? I did keep up, it seemed alittle fast and jerky to me, but will keep going and see how it works out.
Will keep you posted........hugs

Star 09-12-2005 04:45 PM

Jazzercise tonight - it's body sculpt - thank goodness I'll be able to keep up with all those young whipersnappers.......oh-rah.......
I'll report back tomorrow.......

auditgirl 09-13-2005 07:34 AM

I walked 3.6 miles each Fri, Sat and Sun and even started doing a little jogging again. My intensity level was pretty low the last several weeks, so I decided to pick up the pace. It felt good! Walked 3.6 miles last night w/ DH, hope to jog a little more tonight.

Star 09-13-2005 08:48 AM

Couldn't make Jazzercise last night, due to late meeting with Attorney at work....darn.
Has already decided that I need to kick my plan up a notch (slacking alittle like Jen..lol)
So I went home and went to our apartment gym. yeah the one I complained about cuz they don't open til 10am. I knew it was small, but to my enjoyment there was a little color tv in the corner. There was a treadmill, eliptical and recumbent bike, all programmable......whew-hoo......
Eliptical - 30 minutes
Recumbent Bike - 15 minutes
Treadmill - 15 minutes
I went home all sweaty and very happy to discover it was so convienent and enjoyable. I think I will use it on a regular basis. There was no one else in there so I got to control the romote AND I could of watched Lifetime is I wanted to.....lol
Flash to this a.m.
Gym - Treadmill 60 minutes at 4 instead of 45 minutes at 3.7 - I was a beautiful color red.....lol
Oh and Jen, I jogged for one minute (gotta start somewhere)........

Star 09-13-2005 08:52 AM

One more item of interest. Remember when I went on and on how Michael Thruman taught about the "target heart rate - stored fat burning rate"? Well I have read enuf now and I take everything I said back.....Read many articles and posts on here, bottom line is calories in - calories out......the faster you work the more you burn.....
(Thank God, not too many people listen to me anyhow. Now, Michael Thurman is a whole nother story)......

Star 09-13-2005 04:33 PM

News Flash - my calfs are hurting - like I worked really hard....lol Mission accomplished....

textjewel 09-13-2005 04:38 PM

Star - remember to stretch! Interesting what you posted about target heart rate -- I've seen it both ways- but most of what I've seen about fat burning zone was stuff published/or taped in the early 90s?

Julie

vibrantecho 09-13-2005 04:39 PM

Put my first dollar in my Shoe Fund this morning! 30 minutes on the treadmill at 2.5-2.8 (this is a brisk walk for me and my shorty-short legs!) and 2% incline. Same planned for the rest of the week.

Star 09-13-2005 04:55 PM

Julie - "Star - remember to stretch!" Your right, I never take the time, and I love it when I do it.....thanks...

Fiona - It's so good to have you back......it's been alittle slow without you around...

Star 09-14-2005 09:06 AM

this a.m. - Gym - Light weights - 45 minutes
Treadmill - 20 minutes
Good workout today!

Okay last night my calfs still hurt. But then later on my feet kept on cramping. Then I remembered my foot doctor had told me (years ago) to never use the incline on the treadmill becuz it would hurt my instep due to my bunions being so bad. Well usually I had done what he suggested. But yesterday I got a wild hair and wanted to do more faster and harder.....DUH......
The cramps finally went away after midnight. needless to say I won't use the incline again......

Star 09-15-2005 09:23 AM

Oh-rah

Jazzercise last night, it was body sculpt night -toning bands, light hand weights, exercise ball - one hour :strong: Starting to really like it.

Today
Gym - Cardio :tread: Have cranked it up a notch to speed of 4 did one hour, went 4 miles, burned 330 calories. No incline due to bunion pain ;) and did stretch.....oh-rah

:cheer: :coach: :cheer:

auditgirl 09-15-2005 09:31 AM

Star-You go girl!

I did my typical 3.6 miles, but jogged about a third of it-so that felt great!

Star 09-15-2005 09:37 AM

Jen - yesterday I jogged for (are you ready?) for a 'minute'....lol I want to start adding jogging in there. back in the day, I jogged 3 miles a day. My problem is that being overweight and jogging isn't good so I stopped years ago. Now I have to contend with keeping my boobs in line, so I need to buy a really good really tight jogging bra. Congrats to you on your jog!
Jen - WE ROCK - :cheer: :cp: :cheer:

auditgirl 09-15-2005 09:42 AM

Same here with the chest....glad that's went down some with the weight loss, but only from DD to D

Star 09-15-2005 09:48 AM

I went from a DD to a D and now to a C.......One girl at my gym runs on the treadmill, (she's about 15 pounds overweight) wears three (3) exercise bras. Now to me that is too much work, I think if I go to a good store I can get one to do the job........
Does it bother you Jen?

auditgirl 09-15-2005 10:02 AM

it does a little, but a good bra helps a lot!!! 2-3 bras is way to much work for me

Star 09-15-2005 04:43 PM

Tonight is Jazzercise - the dancy kind.... :dancer: :cb: :dancer:
Report back tomorrow....

vibrantecho 09-15-2005 06:58 PM

Hey chickies - I haven't put any more dollars in my workout/shoe fund. :( This morning went to the chiropractor instead - and boy do I feel good! I've got a meeting tonight then will probably do my 30 minutes late tonight. I love having a 24 hour gym. :) Will report back!

vibrantecho 09-15-2005 06:58 PM

P.S. Star, I JUST noticed you're not in Ticker Denial anymore - WAY TO GO!! :dancer:

Star 09-16-2005 08:22 AM

Tgif

 Morning Fit chicks....

Fiona - good to have you back in the yard, sometimes it's loney over it, but the company is good..... About coming out of ticker denial, it was tough but it could have been worse....I know seeing the number actually helps me.

Last night - Jazzercise - 1 hour - the original stuff :dancer: for about 50 minutes, then they do some cool down streach... The class is a mixture of women but I would say most are middle aged. (Oh and ofcourse I'm the best at the grapevine :cb: )

Gym today - :strong: - 40 minutes
:tread: - 20 minutes at speed 4, 1.54 miles, 136 calories

:coach: :cheer: :coach:

textjewel 09-16-2005 09:52 AM

Star- I broke my promise yesterday -- I'll do it today, promise...

Star 09-16-2005 10:47 AM

Julie - :nono: :coach: :tread: :cheer:

vibrantecho 09-16-2005 11:26 AM

30 minutes at 2.8-3.2, with 3 minutes of 3.6 mixed in. I find it helpful to walk in rhythm with whatever song's on my MP3 player, and I found a fast one on there! :tread:

What's funny (or cool) is that I was so intent on walking this morning in order to put another buck in my Fund, I forgot I ALSO will be riding my horse for the first time in 4 months today! In days past, I would've counted that as my exercise "for the day" and skipped the gym. Hooray for footwear!

textjewel 09-16-2005 02:56 PM

Okay, another Kathy Smith Tape - Functionally Fit Fat burning - has aerobic intervals with stuff like squats, plies, lunges -- 40 minutes. I admit that I marched in place for some parts of it.

Fiona - I think I need to have a specific item that I'm working towards for my dollars. . .

Star 09-16-2005 02:58 PM

Julie - Way to go and marching in place is the right thing to do (for now)....lol

Too be honest I haven't started the buck per workout plan yet. For one thing, I'd have to get a part time job to pay myself. I would have to count the ab and bun tape as one workout, then the gym as another and then jazzercise at night - that could mean $3 a day. :o

vibrantecho 09-16-2005 05:13 PM

So, do I get a buck for the 30 minutes I spent on horseback, not to mention the 15 minutes of lunging and 30 minutes of grooming I did today? I'm so out of practice - I'm pooped!!

vibrantecho 09-16-2005 05:15 PM

Star - you could always pick ONE thing, or reward yourself at the end of the day for doing all three (you've been at this exercising thing consistently for longer than me, maybe you don't need to bribe yourself quite so much, lol).

textjewel 09-16-2005 07:43 PM

Yeah, Star, I agree with Fiona - the buck a pop works for me to entice me to do something I don't normally do --

Fiona - for me, I only give it on a daily basis. If it encourages you to do more than one workout a day, go for it. . .you can make your own rules!

Julie

textjewel 09-18-2005 10:00 AM

okay - did about 10 minutes of a firm cardio tape - yuck- didn't like it -- and then a complete arm workout with weights --

goal is for at least another 4 times this week!

Julie

vibrantecho 09-18-2005 12:27 PM

Was motivated to go to the gym after watching BL last night, so I did! 30 minutes, 2.8-3.2, the usual. And DH and I agreed that 30+ minutes on horseback should count too, so now I have $4 in The Fund. Going to ride again this afternoon, after being LAZY on the couch in front of the football game for a few hours. ;)

Hello

Sunday - Went to Ballys on a "Come Back" ad I got in the mail.... Ballys is so much nicer than my "Weight Station" corner gym. I walk in and I see like 20 treadmills, 20 bikes, 20 elipticals, pool, sauna, areobics class in progress, two weight rooms, a juice bar. I'm in awe :o Anyhow I did the :tread: for about 45 minutes and left to think it over. I did do the Fitness Test and came out "Above Normal" in fitness at my age.....oh-rah.

Today:
My old raggy gym....lol
:tread: - 45 minutes...saw some old friends
:cheer:

Jazzercise tonight = the cardio quick class.....

Fi and Julie - I don't need the motivation of money to workout, but I do love gifts and presents to myself...lol

auditgirl 09-19-2005 09:42 AM

No official exercise this weekend, but spent all day Sunday cleaning out closets and rest of the house....between my son and I we generated about 12 bags of clothes to give away and probably 2 dozen pairs of shoes. I think i've officially rid myself of all 'fat' clothing...except the capri pants I wore to LA the day I started...I'll have to do my "Jared" picture when I reach goal!!!!

textjewel 09-19-2005 09:42 AM

The plan is to do an interval tape that focuses on lower body. My arms and abs feel the workout from yesterday - so that's a good thing, I think - I can move them, but I can feel the muscles --

Star- do you do any interval training?
