Easy Steps video this morning...almost made it clear through but the foot started hurting bad....will do pilates this evening. YEAH for me...its a start back in the right direction! OOOOOOOOHHHHHH RAAAAAAAAAAAHHH :drill: ;)

Star 11-21-2005 09:27 AM

Hi Fit Chicks....
I'm here, I feel like I'm home...(even though I'm in no shape to exercise right now)
I'm thinking maybe after Thanksgiving I'll be able to start back slow......I really miss the activity and my muscles seem to be turning to fluff........Thank God they come back fast and have such good memory!
Meanwhile you chicks do some reps for me okay?
Hugs...

mrsbeanie 11-21-2005 10:26 PM

I did the easy steps video again tonight almost made it through again but my foot was hurting...I guess I need to get an xray or something cause its just not right...will do pilates later...

So thats Saturday and Monday excercise! :^: I'll get there.!! :D

mrsbeanie 11-21-2005 10:28 PM

Star - take your time...you're body will let you know what you can handle! Glad to have you back though we sure have missed you. :drill: Git-r-done!

Star 11-22-2005 09:53 AM

Thanks Beanie - Can feel my body getting fluffier and puffier by the day..........I could look like your santa claus avatar by Christmas....lol

Chklithunder 11-22-2005 09:57 AM

 Not good. Star I am sure its not that bad.

Beanie - how long has it been since you hurt your foot?

mrsbeanie 11-22-2005 07:01 PM

Carmen I'm not sure a good month or more. It just really starts to hurt along the outside edge of my right foot. Kind of like a lot of little pins are sticking in and there is a good size bump!

Did do easy steps again today! Im gonna make through the whole thing if it kills me. Today I went until I started to really limp and just couldn't take anymore that was about 16 mins in!!

mrsbeanie 11-22-2005 07:02 PM

Star I don't think so !!

Chklithunder 11-23-2005 09:40 AM

Well Beanie keep up the good work. My foot felt as though it was completely healed about 8 - 10 wks after my accident, but you know what? It STILL really hurts if I let it get too cold. :?:

Star - I don't think you'll be fluffy at all. All the effort you put forth will not be undone by you being laid up for just a bit. Your body is still working, healing is hard work lady!

Chklithunder 11-23-2005 09:42 AM

Oh yeah, almost forgot. I got up at 6, made it here to work by 7:30 and worked out at the FC for an hour! I discovered that I am truly NOT a morning person, as I had to quit my elliptical program 20 minutes in. I felt like I was cheating myself, although I did move on to the weight machines, and worked out my thighs, abs, bi and triceps, and shoulders and back. My legs are sore already...:wl:

mrsbeanie 11-23-2005 10:22 AM

carmen - I am not a morning person either. There is no way I could get up and excercise! You and star just amaze me with your strong dedication!

Chklithunder 11-23-2005 11:06 AM

Beanie - normally there is no way I would have been here this early to work out, but I have been planning it since last Friday! Normally I work out in the afternoon, but on days before holidays they let us go early so I knew I wouldn't be able to go today. I don't see myself doing it again though, because my energy level was just too low. I couldn't do my cardio and had to do the weights instead. I am surprised that I actually did it.

Star 11-30-2005 08:42 AM

well I go back to the doctor tonight and I'm hoping he gives me the ok to get back to exercise....

I LOVED-LOVED-LOVED the Biggest Loser last night, I didn't want it to end. OH MY GOSH - Did you see how great they all looked? Some were really skinny.....the only one that didn't do well was Kathryn and I'm sure she felt bad that she was the only one that didn't shine......

PETE was awesome and I'm so glad he won. PLUS he's from Michigan - GO-PETE!!!!! Oh-Rah.....

Chklithunder 11-30-2005 10:58 AM

They looked FANTASTIC. I missed the first 45 mins of the show because of scouts. Did Nick show up for the final show? I am proud of Pete and Dr. Jeff. I was hoping Suzy would pull it off, but it was nice to see her and Seth still be able to leave with something...

Star 11-30-2005 11:04 AM

In the beginning fo the show they showed Nick's start picture and his final interview picture and said he decided not to come.

Chklithunder 11-30-2005 11:10 AM

Wow. I figured that would happen. I don't think he ever lost a pound. What a disappointment. Someone else would have relished the opportunity to go on the show and learn all those healthy habits.

Repo girl 11-30-2005 06:30 PM

Okay, I have never posted in yard before, but I am determined to get this weight off. I know that I have got to get going on the exercise.
Today: 30 min on the Gazelle, 15 min toning
It's a start!!

Star 12-01-2005 09:22 AM

Hey Fit Chicks...

Katie - That is a great start - you go with your hot little self:cheer:

I got great news fromthe doctor - I can resume exercise. I can do whatever stuff I want so I'll start out with some streching, treadmill and recumbent bike:tread: :ebike: :carrot: The cook part is, my DH is gonna join me in the fun. The down side is I can only work out til December 15th becuz onthe 16th is my bunion surgery:cry: But that doctor says I'll only be out of the gym for three weeks with that..........
Can't wait til I get to go 100% and become a regular again at the gym........

Okay Chicks - I'm gonna go check the other thread........

:coach: Keep up the great work - it will pay off big time:drill: :cheer:

Repo girl 12-01-2005 05:17 PM

Today:
30 min hard cardio, I mean sweating, puffing, this so not like me!!
15 min toning
I do not have any weights, so I am using big cans of peaches. My kids cannot figure this out!

Star 12-02-2005 08:56 AM

Katie - You can also use milk containers with handles either gallon or half gallons filled with water...
YOU are doing AWESOME.....you go girl!!!!!!!!!!!

Repo girl 12-02-2005 01:51 PM

Star, thanks for the tip on the milk gallons. With this daycare, I go through about 3/4 gallon per day. I have also been doing crunches with my chihauhau sitting on my chest. Today DH turned into an evil trainer, and was having me do this crunch that you hold for 30 seconds and squeeze. He was timing me and yelling "Come on, come on, you can do it, squeeze, squeeze!!" He even got down on the floor with me and put his hand on the spot where my abs should be, LOL, to make sure I was squeezing. He made me do 5. I was ready to die. I think that maybe I should hire him to put me through my whole circuit every day!!
Today: 30 minutes of hard cardio
15 minutes of toning
Goal for the weekend: Same circuit each day

Chklithunder 12-02-2005 04:33 PM

Elliptical - 30 mins. Arms, legs, backs, abs also.

Star 12-08-2005 11:00 AM

Well - I have been meaning to start working out again, but so far it just hasn't happened.....I just don't want to lose this thread, so here's to bumping it up......
You fit chicks keep it going til I return........

Denise Wilson 12-17-2005 10:14 AM

Hi Katie, it seems we have similar tastes in threads. I made this posting in another thread but maybe i can get some help feed back here.

I'm 29yrs and I really want to ring in my 30th better than ever and w/ my 2 boys, well lets just say they are getting bigger and faster everyday. I've always had a problem w/ my weight, tried it all (NutriSystem & Jenny Craig) but they never last. On Jenny lost 30 lbs when I was 19 for my sister's wedding (and though I looked miiighty fine if i do say so myself) but it all came back. And now after the kids i'm at my biggest. I stated LA on 12/8/05 and have lost 5lbs to start with in the 1st week. The recipes and support i'm seeing on 3FC is great and i think will really help.

I'm feeling committed and motived right now but i'm having trouble finding time to excersize. I've never been the best at time management but now with the 2 boy (3yrs and 6mon) it nexts to impossible to find the time.

Does anyone have any tips to help me get more excersize or find the time to work out? I really want to make a change in my life, health and body but I'm having a hard time making those needed changes. Also, I'm really not at my greatest in the AM, so waking up early and doing it consistently is just not realistic for me. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Repo girl 12-19-2005 01:10 PM

I have realized that my family and job will take up every second of my life, if I let them. I have learned to say, "No, I need some me time. You are going to take a nap, I am going to exercise." Or, to DH, "I have been doing this all day. It is your turn to be in charge of the kids, I am going to exercise." Since no one is going to take care of you, except for you, it is YOU that has to stand up for yourself, and give yourself some time. You deserve to treat yourself well, and exercise and weight loss are a great way to go. Don't feel selfish for saying "No! I need my time too." Moms have a dang hard job. They deserve breaks too. Okay, off my soapbox! Good luck!! Katie

Denise Wilson 12-19-2005 10:03 PM

Katie - I don't want to sound like a sap or a softie but you have no idea how much what you just said means to me. I don't know if u watch Oprah but she calls them "Ah-ha!" moments and i just had one. I'm alway so consumed w/ what i have to do for everyone else i barely have a moment to shower and it is leaving me on empty. I think the fact that i made the step to go to LAWL and made that financial investment, i need to take advantage of this opportunity i have. The best way to take care of them is to take care of me first. Thank you again for your words, u got me all choked up...but then again i only had my son 6 months ago...might still be a bit post-pardom! LOL (That's a joke, no need to call a hotline or anything) LOL. But seriously...thank you

Repo girl 12-20-2005 12:15 AM

Denise- I had three babies in three years. I know how you feel. As moms we tend to loose ourselves sometimes. Glad I could give you an Ah-ha!

textjewel 12-29-2005 03:47 PM

Did turbo jam learn and burn tape. .

Julie
*1*

Star 12-29-2005 03:53 PM

Julie - I'm so glad to see this thread come back to life! How do you like Turbo-Jam???

DH went up north and he is bringing back my recumbent exercise bike. The foot doc said I can do that type of workout now.....oh-rah.

textjewel 12-29-2005 05:10 PM

I actually LIKE it. The first tape isn't too tough - but I think I'll be doing it for a few days.

Thought I'd get a start on my New Years goal!

I bet you're itching to do something, anything. .

mnpeach00 12-29-2005 05:14 PM

I'm going to leave work soon and go to the gym. I need to burn some of those calories from the McD's ice cream cone I had last night.

Star 12-30-2005 09:48 AM

Julie - I am anxious to get back to exercise. The foot doc says I can do whatever feels good not, except kick my DH. I don't know why he threw that last remark in, but DH is his patient too.......lol
Speaking of DH, he will be back today with my recumbent bike. That is probably where I will start.
The doc told me I can wear my regular shoes now. I was thrilled to be able to get rid of this surgery shoe. So this morning I ran into a problem, none of my shoes fit yet...so back to the surgery 'plank' shoe........boo-hoo....

DestinyS8 12-30-2005 11:18 AM

Good morning ladies. I am somewhat afraid to post here, but I have been putting off the 'exercise' portion of my life habits makeover and need to commit. I don't want to make this a New Year's resolution, I just know that I need to get back on track.

Last March (can't believe it has been that long) I started working out 6 days a week. I did it for almost 4 months and then gave myself a day off. As you can see, the days have kept mounting up. So...I pledge to get up in the morning and do a daily workout (3 times per week to start and work myself back up to 6)

My biggest problem is that I cannot work out in the evening because I have too many 'family' distractions. I hate mornings, so getting up earlier is a difficult thing for me to make myself do. I DO know that after the 2nd week, I actually start to feel better...but still hate getting up.

Thanks for listening to my rant. See you here next week.

Star 12-30-2005 11:27 AM

Destiny - Good for you on wanting to restart your exercise program....
The reason you feel better after two weeks is becuz your body starts to get use to doing it. Matter of fact, a habit takes 21 days to form, so I'd say no matter how hard it is, give it 21 days and see if it gets easier....
Don't mean to sound preachy, but I have to do the same thing myself. I honestly love to exercise and I know it's worth getting up at 4:30 a.m. to do...
See you back on here more often......

Star 01-04-2006 11:02 AM
