Just wondering, with your exercise level, which plan are you on?

wp95jma 04-05-2006 10:51 PM

I'm on Purple w/no lites. When I went into the center in the beginning I was on Gold w/lites, then I said I wasn't going to do them and they swithched me to purple w/o but I wasn't exercising back then. Now I exercise just over 5 hours a week and they haven't switched my plan. My loss has slowed and I'm thinking it is time to switch plans. When I WI tomorrow if I haven't lost anything I'll talk to them about it.

yoga_gurl 04-05-2006 11:47 PM

BL#3

Ok, talked to my COD today about switching plans because I'm working out and they wanted to switch me from Purple to (drumroll please)....................RED! Are they insane?!?! I told them no thanks I'd stick to purple and if I stay at this plateau then I'd think about it. Going purple to red is an insane amount of food (.5 protien 2 starches and 1 fruit more I think). I'm just not ready to add all that food back into my diet. Plus then I could never slack on the exercise.

Repo girl 04-07-2006 02:27 AM

Red is 3 starches, 3 fruits, 4 veggies, 2 1/2 protein, 1 dairy, and 1 fat. You are doing so great with the exercise. I need to get back to it!

stiesta 04-07-2006 08:54 AM

60 minute run on the treadmill

20 minutes Treadmill

stiesta i was feeling good about my treadmill time till i saw yours! WTG!!

I see that a lot of yall are doing BL and walking/treadmill I plan on working up to that but since im just starting back i wont kill myself just yet! We are doing BL tuesday night. I would work out tomorrow however, my uncle is in town so we are going out to dinner. Those of you who work out in the morning vs the evening what do you think the benefits are?

Britt

deetsmom 04-09-2006 09:03 PM

At least you KNOW it gets done, period.

Britt -- don't feel bad...I would gladly run for 3 days straight...just my thing that I love to do! I think if I stayed more OP all the time it would do me some good!

As for me, if I don't work out in the morning, it doesn't happen. I can talk myself out of anything when it's late at night and I'm tired. If I do it within 30 minutes of waking up, it's automatic, and I don't have time to give myself an excuse not to do it.

brittyboo07 04-09-2006 10:18 PM

Thanks for your imput you two I have really been thinking about exercising in the morning vs the evening. there is just one major problem i am not a morning person and I can talk myself out of getting up lol. If i can get into a routine i guess it would work itself out i might try it once school i out for the semester (3 weeks) for now I guess im just gonna have to workout at night.

Britt

Britt - Personally I think the key is doing it. Whenever you can fit it in is what is best. I used to get up each morning at 4:45 to get on the treadmill - it took too much out of me. I know do it in the evenings while watching some show - I find this works fine for me. I just have to get it in before 8:00 or else I don't sleep that great. You are doing great - keep it up!

30lbsby22 04-11-2006 11:49 AM

BL #1. feels good to sweat again!! :D

Do any of you work out on an elliptical trainer?

I use the treadmill and was up to 4 miles. But latelyn, I've been doing 3 miles on the treadmill and then switching to the elliptical. The problem I have is that it makes the sides of my feet ACHE after only 5 minutes. I don't get it at all - it's the most popular machine at the gym after the treadmill and there's more of those than any other piece of equipment.

I like the treadmill, but just got tired of the same routine and thought I'd do something different. But maybe I'm doing something wrong.

30lbsby22 04-11-2006 03:18 PM

hey kim i used to use the elliptical but it would kill me. I dont have the greatest knees in the world and like you after 5 minutes I was dying. could it be the speed that you are trying to do? or have you thought of maybe trying the elliptical first and then doing the treadmill? just some suggestions

brittyboo07 04-11-2006 03:31 PM

Hey Kim megan gave you some good ideas I would try those and also you might want to think about your shoes that could be the problem you might need some shoes with more support. Are you doing these at a gym? If you are you might want to talk to others that use that machine or someone who works at the gym to see if there is anything you can do differently. Hope you get it figured out!!

Britt

slimmerKim 04-11-2006 04:31 PM

Thanks Britt and Megan - I have new shoes (as of last November) for running, and so it could be my shoes, but I wouldn't know what else to buy. I would hate to spend a lot of money (like I did on my running shoes) only for my feet to ache.

I may try to do the elliptical first. thanks!

Does anyone have any advice about shin splints? I have always had problems with them, even when I was a kid. It is just that lately they have gotten worse and have even started to bother me at night. I run/walk on the treadmill. I am sure it is because I am bowlegged:?:
Lisa

stiesta 04-11-2006 08:25 PM

Lisa, shin splints are a common problem -- I ran a marathon a year and a half ago and had trouble with them when I first started training. I would look at your shoes first of all -- make sure you're getting good absorption of the shock -- you want to have your shoes absorb as much of the impact as you can. You need to look at your feet and your arches -- then determine if they're the right fit for your type of foot (or go get fitted for proper shoes at a running store). You may also be over-training -- try taking a break and allow your muscles to restore themselves. Good luck -- aren't you glad these are the problems you've got as opposed to being inactive? Good job, girlfriend, you're doing awesome!

ljackson 04-11-2006 09:33 PM

Now that I think of it the shoes might be a problem, they are about 5 years old. :o I only use them for working out on my treadmill so they do not get dirty, so I have not felt like I needed to replace them. I think I will try that first, because it certainly can not be from muscle overuse since lately I have only been getting in about 2 workouts a week.

Monday ~ Went mall shopping with my Mom (again) walked and shopped for 4hours

Shopping is definately a sport! :) You walk, you dance around in the dressing room when something in a smaller size fits you :carrot: You carry around heavy shopping bags if you buy something. Definately exercise ;)

rad7775 04-11-2006 10:39 PM

Julia and Deets:
Now I can have an excuse to tell my DH when I go shopping: "Woman where are you going with the credit cards" " Excercise on the mall, baby" :frypan:

stiesta 04-12-2006 01:00 PM

Shopping, LOL...I'd weigh 100 pounds if that was the case.
