WTG Rusty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

buttonsinabox 06-21-2005 11:15 AM

Treadmill... 3.18 miles..... 61 min

Good Job Everyone!

brittyboo07 06-21-2005 11:30 AM

Wow Beth cant wait till i can work up to that. Well I guess i can lol the incline was a little bit harder than i thought it would be thats why i only did 5 minutes of it but i will work up to a longer period of time. I noticed you and star were talking about the % of incline and i looked on my treadmill and it doesnt tell you how much of an incline you have it on. I was hoping that it would lol. Ill be back on it tonight.

Britt

buttonsinabox 06-21-2005 12:12 PM

 Britt im trying to catch up to Star... Today I did 3.2 and I did 2 min up to 5.0% incline then back down the rest I did at the same speed but just flat..

If it doesn't show you can still just go up 1 step every 2 mins till you top out or how far you want to go.. everyday just push yourself a little bit longer and harder and you'll get there!

For me the first 15 mins fly by then the next 30 seems like it drags and I have a tough time staying on it, after that that last 15 is easy...

rubyshoes 06-21-2005 02:22 PM

Woke up this morning and wanted to just lay there all day....TOM.

Dragged my limp butt out of bed, threw on sweats and did 30 mins of weight resistance. I can do this right? :(

I keep waiting to get this feeling that everyone talks about feeling great after exercise, and it doesn't come. It never comes. I have no real challenges staying OP, but I have no drive for exercise. Is that normal?

 Ruby -

For me, lets reverse that, I have no real challenges with exercise, but I have no drive for staying on plan 100%. Is that normal? Too bad we can"t share our short comings..... ;) We would be awesome!

buttonsinabox 06-21-2005 02:30 PM

Good JOB Ruby! You can do it! the only feeling I get is after im done, im extremely happy to sit down  I too have to push myself to do it, because I don't have the fitness drive either... We can do it by cheering each other on... I don't know where you carry your fat but mines in my stomach area (tube right around the middle) anyway thats my motivation.. Every morning I see it and hop on the treadmill, I can't wait until its not there anymore.. I do know that once I get to that point i'll be addicted to exercise, we can only hope anyway...

auditgirl 06-21-2005 02:36 PM

Ruby,

I'm not so sure it's the exercise or throwing off the shackles of guilt I feel when I don't do it that makes me feel so great after exercise ;-) I'm with Star-not 100%motivated to stay on plan all the time, but know if I didn't exercise my transgressions would be even worse!

I was suffering a horrible food hangover on Monday from indulging all day on Sunday, but forced myself to walk 3 miles after work with co-worker (40 minutes) and another 2 miles wiht DH (we usually do 3, but I was feeling way too yucky). No more ice cream cake for me....EVER!!!! Just thinking about it now is making me feel kind of sick again...then again maybe it had more to do with how much I ate, not what I ate...still disgusted with myself. Okay, that's over....back to basics and being POP.

Jen

rubyshoes 06-21-2005 03:02 PM

See....if all I had to do was stay on plan, then I would drop all this excess weight, because any transgressions I have are either minor, or it is missing food or something simple like that. The plan was a problem only at first because it bordered on obsession with as much time as you had to spend analyzing every little thing, then it just sort of became habit.

But this exercise thing.....I don't feel guilty when I don't do it, I just know I am not going to get to where I want to be without it.

The only good feeling I get when I am through with it, is the good feeling that comes from sheer relief that it is over. It isn't the exersion part of it that bothers me, it is the tiresome factor that it BORES THE **** OUT OF ME.

Walking for the sake of walking makes me want to fall asleep. Exercise gurus that pump out the tapes with their false cheer make me ill. Gyms make me break out in a cold sweat because of the people you come across there either A) would prefer to be anywhere else but the gym, so they are angry, or B) are using the joint as their favorite pick up place, and I am not putting on freakin make up to exercise.

I have yet to find one exercise that I ENJOY doing. Maybe if I had an exercise buddy to do things with it would be different. But it makes it difficult when I am trying to adapt my routine for the morning process so that I know I have done it and have no excuses by the end of the day.

Either way, I by far consider this my worst challenge since starting the program.

Sorry for the rant guys. I try to stay so focused and positive, but am feeling a bit defeated at the moment.

~ruby

Star 06-21-2005 03:22 PM

Hi

Ruby - You have lost 69 pounds, just like Anna Nicole....
Your outlook on exercise makes me  I'm sure there is a book in there somewhere  Oh and those people at the gym - that's what makes it fun to go and watch

Hey Jen - You and me would be trouble together, we would binge eat and then marathon exercise :hb: :hun: :corn: :hun:  :tread: :ebike: :strong:

buttonsinabox 06-21-2005 03:26 PM

Ruby that is exactly how I feel.. I hate working out with a passion.. Im not a sportsy person never have been never will be.. It is the most boring thing ever........but I know I have to do it, just like you do... do like star told me too. Try it for 21 days and see what happens...

Star 06-21-2005 03:36 PM

Beth - in 21 days you will not only have a habit (exercise). Your bumble bee avatar will turn into a butterfly......

buttonsinabox 06-21-2005 04:37 PM

 well we'll see about the butterfly I kinda like having a stinger, in the fruit world im trying hard not to turn into a coconut...

Karen 06-22-2005 08:48 AM

Day 2 of challenge....Cardio 15 minutes....

Star 06-22-2005 08:51 AM

Weights, abs and buns........
Lack of warm fuzzy feeling.....lol

rubyshoes 06-22-2005 01:50 PM

auditgirl 06-22-2005 02:59 PM

Hi chicks,

Yesterday 40 minutes of cardio (3.25 miles) and 20 minutes of weights....yeah, Star...actual strength training again...are you proud of me???

Tonight i'm planning swimming for 30-40 minutes and walking for another 30-40 minutes.

buttonsinabox 06-22-2005 03:58 PM

woohoo guys!

treadmill ....3.34 miles ..... 60 mins

brittyboo07 06-22-2005 08:43 PM

Ok i got back on the treadmill today!!!!!!!!!!!!! 20 minutes almost 1 mile i need to increase my speed and 5 minutes on incline again. Also did the 100 crunches too. Now its off to fix dinner before i have to go shower.

Britt

auditgirl 06-23-2005 07:21 AM

Britt-Good for you with the treadmill and crunches...that's what I need to do is crunches, but by the time I finsih cardio, I'm exhausted ;-)

Swimming is hard work! I swam for about 35 minutes or so and walked another 3 miles at home with DH. But the pool felt wonderful and I may do it again today!

Jen

Karen 06-23-2005 08:46 AM

My 3 day challenge....Cardio- 15 minutes...WOOHOO...Star, you will have to have a challenge ready for me for next week... :o

Star 06-23-2005 08:57 AM

Hey Fit Chicks!

I'm so glad to see all these posts here, just when I was about ready to close the 'Exercise Yard' down... :judge:

Today for me: 30 minutes on the eliptical...then the inner/outer thigh machine......(I'm gonna get these inner thighs in shape if it kills me :sumo: )

Beach Body has some awesome tapes out for abs. The one I do only takes like 7 minutes.......sometimes I do it before I go to the gym at home. I find that the quick tapes, that work one area are easy to add in becuz I can find 7 minutes somewhere in a days time ;)

buttonsinabox 06-23-2005 09:31 AM

Im glad you didn't close it... Its helping me to post what I do here, I think its helping all of us.

brittyboo07 06-23-2005 09:42 AM

I have to agree with Beth on this one i think its helping me now that i come in here haha. Im no where close to doing as much as some of you do but im doing something and that is better than nothing :D But i cant wait till i get further along and im doing an hour or so because I will have to do this when i come home from work and my family will have to start helping with dinner cause im gonna be on the treadmill for a while lol.

~Jen
Wtg!!!! I think swimming in the pool would be great exercise I no longer have a pool so unless i join a gym i wont be swimming anytime soon. Except for this weekend cause my BF and I are going away for the weekend and our hotel has a nice indoor pool and hot tub!!

~Rusty
Wtg with meeting your challenge from Star!

~Star
Im glad you didnt close this thread down! I think maybe you should issue us all a challenge each week that could be fun. You are our exersice guru after all lol.

I will be doing my treadmill and crunches again when i get home from work. My dog doesnt know what to think about the treadmill he just sits and looks at it and when i do the incline he barks at it lol Ok im off to work now.

Britt

Star 06-23-2005 09:42 AM

hey Beth......
For awhile there it was just me on here and I was boring myself........lol

buttonsinabox 06-23-2005 10:09 AM

lol well I don't know I think my posts are pretty boring too... I saw that you were the only one, I had been reading along time before I was posting... but hopefully this helps us all motivate each other to get our booooties moving... because If you can do it so can I.. :p thats how Im looking at it anyway...

hmmm what was the last challange 15 or 20 min???

Hey has anyone looked at oprahs bootcamp??? she starts off at 30 mins of cardio the first week i think

Karen 06-23-2005 10:21 AM

Ok Chicks,
Star has given me my workout routine for next week. I'm posting it to help keep me accountable next week.
I have to do atleast 20 minutes of cardio for atleast 4 days. If I have time to do 30 minutes, I'm suppose to do 30 minutes.....Geez, wish me luck with this Chicks... :o

auditgirl 06-23-2005 10:26 AM

I looked at Oprah's bootcamp and thought it might be just what I need to get rid of these last 15 lbs, but haven't started it yet. I did return to the gym and start working with weights earlier this week and plan to go again tomorrow. I'm pretty sore right now (between weights and swimming I can barely lift my arms to stretch while yawning...but it's a good pain...means I'm alive and doing something good for me ;-)

Star 06-23-2005 10:28 AM

Beth - I think I said only 15 to start, that was just to get everyone going. It's not hard to do 30, but ya have to start somewhere.....
Thanks for posting....and I'm so glad you are all working out now. You will see a huge difference - it's worth every pain along the way.
Rusty - I know you will do 20 and probably some days 30 - you just need a little push.....
Jen - the old saying "No pain - no gain" lol That last weight will come off us soon, cuz we ain't quittin!

brittyboo07 06-23-2005 10:45 AM

Ok Rusty so if your gonna increase 5 minutes and 15 if you can i guess i can do the same lol. I like to have a challenge keeps me motivated i guess. I will do 25 minutes and 35 if i can and at least 4 days if not 5! Come on Rusty we can do this!!!

~Beth
Is oprah's bootcamp online? I havent looked guess ill check out oprah.com and see if its there. She i looking better than she has in years!

Britt

Star 06-23-2005 10:49 AM

Britt - Remeber Oprah has a chef or two, unlimited funds and plenty of time to get to her goal.......

brittyboo07 06-23-2005 12:03 PM

LOL Star yes i remember that! However, I have been reading this morning lol and that is always a bad thing haha. Anyway I think i want to do the Oprah Boot Camp!!!!!!!!! Just as a challenge to myself because i know i can do this. I have only gotten to the exercise part not to the food part but i thought if i use my LAWL and then the book camp for the exercise that might work really well. Anyone else interested in starting boot camp July 1????

Britt

buttonsinabox 06-23-2005 12:06 PM

Yes Rusty, AuditGirl and Britt you can do it...

Me treadmill.... 60 mins (the longest 60 ever) 3.05 miles... I did the 2 min increases up to 7.0 today at a faster pace.. man am I beat....

Britt It was on her site.. she has a contract on there for it... 12 weeks I think it is...

Star.. I couldn't remember where you started them.. lol

you guys can do it I started at about 20 then did 30 now im at 60... I make myself get at least to the 3 miles.. In fact my MIL called this morning, I had 6 min to go and I told her I had to call her back.... when I really wanted to hop off and sit down.. lol

Star 06-23-2005 12:14 PM

Britt - you are on a roll...you go girl! Take all the other fit chicks with you! I can't join you on July 1st becuz I will be on the first day of my vacation.... We are going to Park City Utah.

When I come back on the 11th, I'll have to ask you chicks for challenges to get back up to speed......Actually if I weren't going I would sign up right now!

auditgirl 06-23-2005 12:32 PM

Britt-July is pretty busy, but I could start after the 4th and then take another break at the end of the month...need to do something drastic to shock the body into losing again.

Star-You hit the nail on the head...the weight is going to come off because I'm not going to stop until it does....way too stubborn to quit now!

Star 06-23-2005 12:37 PM

I just read about Oprah's Boot Camp and what changed her feelings. I pretty much feel the same way about working out that she does. Her new outlook on eating is one we could all benifit from.
I would be really excited to do the Boot Camp after the 8th of July. But I think it is a great idea to get a group from here. Britt your captain.....if we need a name for our team - how about 'Fit Chicks?'
This is really exciting.....cool!

buttonsinabox 06-23-2005 12:52 PM

 I'm game just tell me what day were starting... This could be great for all of us!!!!

brittyboo07 06-23-2005 01:14 PM

YAYYYYYYY!!!! Im so excited!!! This is kind of strange for me. Ok i had thought that maybe I would start July 1st since its a 12 week challenge and all so that would give me about even in months however i have looked at my calendar and i notice that July 1st is on a friday. If you havent read about the boot camp then go to oprah.com and click on the boot camp link. It actually doesnt sound all that bad. i think the exercise part will be the hardest for me but i need that kick in the butt!!!!

There is a cute walking calendar that you can print off to keep up with your walking (either outside or treadmill). I think the exercise program is gonna be pretty intense but I think we can all do it. Its 8 workouts a week with one day of rest! That is kind of scarry!!!!!! Six days a week you do 20 minutes of resistance training using dumbbells. Also each session you do a cardio workout. Starts off with 30 minutes 5 days a week and on the 6th day you double it so that would be a hour for the first week! There is more information as long as some examples of Oprah's fav moves.

There is a contract to sign with yourself. I would love for all of us to do this together. I can start whenever really I plan on keeping up with this when i go on vacation as well. So if everyone could list when they could start the program then we will come up with the official start date. And dont worry if you have to miss the first few days or something you can just jump right in when you get back from vacation or whenever.

I dont know why im so excited about this but i am lol. I think things are always better when done in groups lol. Do you think we should start a seperate thread for the "Fit Chicks Challenge" once it starts? Ok everyone think on it and read up about it we will put some stuff together and see if we cant get started with our own BootCamp!!ohhhh we could call it the Fit Chicks Boot Camp!!!

Britt

Star 06-23-2005 01:22 PM

Britt - I'm excited too - it will be great!
I can start (or jump in) July 11th
Yes, I think we need a new thread for us "Fit Chicks Boot Camp"
Now I have something to look forward to AFTER vacation........ :ebike: :cp: :tread: :cheer: :strong: :cb:
