Agreed! Stay strong through the transition! This program seems so punitive if you do not transition per protocol. In one way it keeps me OP because I know how many days are lost by cheats. I am being very aggressive this time, even more so than the first time when I had no restricted items, as I want to get back to goal as fast as safely possible. I am expecting a big loss this week having done another boot camp week. I'll know Monday morning.

Joy - Sorry for your loss but happy to hear you are coping well. Happy early Birthday!!!

Ro Well I had a good first five days having lost 9 pounds but that is expected when you eat non stop and then start the program. I had similar results during my first reboot but then the following weeks things slowed down so I know what to expect. I know I should not step on that scale everyday from now on because it will not go down the same way but I am addicted to it. I have been doing for as long as I can remember.

The first time I did IP I waited two weeks before doing exercise...I walked but did not do workouts. After I did a Jillian workout every morning and had so much energy after. The weight came off...maybe not as fast...but I saw nice changes in my body. Now I would like to start Monday after only one week but have a quest bar immediately after. I need energy because I feel blah in the morning. Still deciding.

Me again. Well I can't believe I have to say this but I cheated in a bad way last night. Yep I let that little voice get to me. Hopefully it will only be a one day cheat and I'll be ok...so for me this is Day 1 for the fourth time.

I just can't believe we are in November...

Have a great day!

Good morning rebooters!
Day 7 and still feeling good. I am loving the Quest products and am now addicted to the chips for my afternoon snack! I have been doing some days with restricted and some days without.

Loser- you can do it! Get right back in the saddle today. Both times I have done IP, I have exercised throughout. It makes me feel better, but for me, I also lose better. Plus, my inches seem to melt away when I exercise and do IP. At the end of the day, I am looking for my clothes to fit again, so it's the inches that really matter to me.

I would say that if you feel better exercising, than you should! I also know that for me, exercise and diet go hand in hand. If I am not exercising, I do not have the motivation to eat right (even when not on IP) and if I am not eating right, I don't have the motivation to exercise! Doing both IP & exercise keeps me motivated to continue.

Also, a thing with cheating, I am not totally against cheats, as long as you know that it may slow you down a little bit. For example, I am already planning on a cheat for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. I want to and I am planning it. I also know that I should not and will not be disappointed if I do not lose any weight that week. And it may mean that I will have to be on P1 a little longer. As long as I am mentally prepared for that, I am ok with it.

I figure this, in the past, I probably would have waited until January to get started because I would mentally talk myself into the fact that this is the holiday season and why bother dieting? Now, I see it like this. It is better to lose whatever weight I can before January and if I have a couple of days off plan, it is WAY better than putting it off. So maybe I will lose 10-15# instead of 20#, but isn't it better to be starting off being 10-15# less than nothing at all? Or even a gain?

I think you need to reset your mindset and evaluate your cheats. Decide what is an important cheat and what is frivolous. To me, a dinner or night out is a wasted cheat, but Christmas dinner is an important cheat. I don't want to miss out on foods that I only eat once a year. But something like French fries or ice cream or pizza? Those are available ALL THE TIME. And once you get to your goal, you can find a way to incorporate them into your lifestyle.

Thanks for your kind words, LOser13 and Ro22.

Great birthday present this morning: down 2 pounds! I think I'll hold off on the Indian food birthday lunch this year. The Indian food will be there when I get to my goal.

JOysh- congrats on the loss and Happy Birthday! Th Indian food will be there for a fun day when you get back to maintenance, and you will have a good reason to indulge (deferral of one of your favorite birthday celebration traditions, I assume).!

And in general, congrats to all of you 2015 Rebooters for your successful efforts in getting on track. I am reading and joining this thread for inspiration. That is my goal for this week - to get back on track with P1.

I am a 2014 Starter who began that July and lost 82lbs by June this year, hit slow-going trying to drop the last 10 to my desired goal weight of 150, then had some family medical challenges and over the summer I have regained 20lbs. I am heavily back into sugar addiction, and must do a 180 degree shift to get back into ketosis.

Getting past the inertia to just start back on P1 is a steep hill in front of me. I hope I can do it - your stories help me believe that I can. Thanks for your support!

Oneuh, congrats to you to begin right now! 20 pounds is MUCH easier than 25 or 30 pounds (or 80), so be happy that you caught yourself at 20 pounds.

Stick it out the first week, then it will get easier, as you know. You'll be happy that you did.

I continue to see myself as a success story, even though I do occasional reboots. You should, as well. Like a good haircut (or haircolor), this needs upkeep. We have the tools, so we can maintain the upkeep.

Yes, the Indian food will wait a bit. It will be there for me when I'm ready. Meanwhile, I'll just continue to add my curry powder to my IP chicken soup + vegetables. ("Mock" curry!)

Best of luck! You can do this!

Happy Monday Rebooters!
I am on Day 8 and still plugging along. I had a couple of meals out this weekend and although I stayed OP, I could tell how much sodium was in the food and it is never the same as eating your own prepared foods.

I will do my mid-week check on Wed so I have a few days to let that sodium work it's way out of my system.

Blondi13- welcome to the home of the rebooters. I am pretty much starting from scratch myself. I still have quite a ways to go, so I will be here for a while

Hi Everyone,

It looks like everyone is doing well on reboot.

Welcome Blondi13!

So far, I am chugging along and I think the stomach issues have mostly resolved. I made a mistake this week and had two restricteds (I forgot the pancake was restricted) but I ended up sticking to the lower carb veggies so I hope it was still within range.

I am getting kind of frustrated that all my old jeans are too big and baggy, but only one pair in the smaller size fits (and I really dislike that pair because they are a lighter wash and look kind of silly/dated). So far, it seems like the weight is coming off mostly in my chest and neck and arms. All my tops are big, but my pants size hasn't budged much. So, I am hoping for a good week with some inches lost to have a few more clothes!

I hope everyone's week goes well!

Having lost and regained my whole life, I have observed that I lose from the top of my head down, and I gain from the bottom up....

Day 9 and still feeling good. Tomorrow will be my "mid week check" to make sure I am on track

Oneuh2- same here. Lose from the top, gain from the bottom. Not entirely fair in my estimation...

Ultimately, IP is the best diet I have ever found where you lose inches as much as pounds. I take my measurements roughly every 3-4 weeks and when I was doing IP the first time, I was astonished at the losses. There were even times that I would try on a pair of pants and they wouldn't fit, but just 1 week later they did. It is amazing.

Since starting this reboot, I am already down 9". I have taken my measurements from my chest (right under breasts), waist, stomach, hips, right arm and right thigh. I have lost more inches than pounds...

Hi everyone, I haven't been around these boards in ages, but I have managed to stay OP in my absence! It's fun to check in and see how well everyone is doing. I restarted on Sept. 1 and have been totally and completely faithful since then. I'm not losing weight as quickly as I did the first time I did IP, and maybe that's common for restarters. But I'm not complaining--I've lost 26 lbs in two months and I'm so committed this time that there won't be another "restart." So I can say goodbye to those 26 pounds FOREVER!

Anyway, that's all--I just wanted to check in and say congrats to everyone on how well you're doing! Ideal Protein works!!

Good morning Rebooters!
Day 10 and still feeling great. I did my mid-week check and I am down another pound. A lot of people at the gym this morning said they can really see how much smaller I am getting, so I think I may have had a "whoosh" with inches. I am 1# away from getting to my mini-goal of 155. Once I hit that, I will be the lightest I have been for over 6 months.

Anyway, still plugging along here and trying to get through this reboot as quickly as possible. I do not ever want to be here again. I had to do a lot of soul searching and decision making lately and I came to the conclusion that I will do whatever it takes to never be in this position again.
