  • Stormy - right now getting your body to heal is most important - especially if you are on any type of antibiotics. Eating P3 (allows toast / fruit) for a bit until you heal and then get back on track. Jmvo though...
  • Thanks Hysteria- I will check out the P3 protocol and see if I can make that work. So far, I've been sticking to chicken broth (IP compliant) and I've had a few saltines, but I am hopefully I can be back on track soon.
  • Hey Rebooters-
Hope everyone is doing well. I am still plugging along on my modified reboot and doing quite well. I am down 2.8# since Tuesday (5 full days of lower carb). I am super happy with this progress. Although it is not as quick as full on P1, it is very manageable and I am eating carbs around my workout, which is giving me plenty of energy.

Overall, I am down 5.4# and people are starting to comment, which tells me that others notice that I look smaller. I am almost to my 1st "milestone" of getting back into the 150's.

Even though I am not super strict P1, I am finding this much easier to manage this time around. I am really only eating my carbs around my workout, so the rest of the day is similar to eating P2. The first time I did IP, the weekends were barely tolerable, but now, it's either that I know what to expect or I am just more in tune. I'm not sure.

Stormy- I have found that when I am sick, I just stick to what feels good and what I can tolerate. Similarly, it is usually chicken soup & saltines. Then I just deal with getting back on track when I feel better. I don't usually have an appetite when I am sick, so I find I don't really gain weight.

Has anyone tried the Quest protein powder? Is it any good? If/when I go full force to P1, I really don't want to use packets, so I am looking around for some decent tasting protein powders. There is a one that I have been using, it is called Metabolic Protizyme and I have been using the Peanut Butter Cookie. It is delicious, but the chocolate flavor is not, so I am on the hunt.
  • I like quest chocolate and PB. Some people complain that it's too sweet, but I blend it with ice and spinach. It has a nice smooth, not grainy, texture.
  • Hi all, I'm starting back on program in the morning. I'm looking forward to feeling control again. I have my 32 ounce water cup, a new promixx vortex protein mixer, a drawer full of zucchini, mixed garden salad, and ground turkey, chicken, and lean ground beef. If the WF dressing has expired, I know where they sell it nearby. I think I have one or two unopened yet.
I got to goal in 2013 with a non-clinic approach and I plan on going that route again. I will have over a year to figure out how to maintain the loss, I'm afraid of a repeat loss and gain, but that fear has stopped me from trying again. I need to face my food demons and take them as they come.

  • Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your stomach sickness strategies. I'm taking a P3 approach until Friday (that will be a week) for the meds to fully work. I think that will be the best case for me. I haven't been very hungry so I am not eating much any way, but I am starting to feel better and have more of an appetite. I hope the week won't cause too much of a set back and I can get right back on track. I don't want to rush it, but I was making good progress and I don't want to lose steam, especially with all the halloween candy that is floating around already.

I do have some extra motivation because I went to go try on my fall clothes today since it is finally cold here and I could actually get my tall boots to zip! They were a little bit tight last year and I had to leave them a bit unzipped at the top so I am very excited!

I also downloaded the happy scale app and I'm curious to see what it's like. Thanks for the recommendation!

Welcome Halfagain! Sounds like you have a good start in place!

I hope everyone having a good day.

Thanks Stormy. I hope you are feeling better. Congrats on the tall boots!
  • Hey gang,
Still hanging around, plugging along on my reboot. Things are pretty much status quo and I am definitely in my rhythm.

I am trying to get out of the daily weighing as I get discouraged when I don't see the number change everyday. Logically, I know that once you are out of the first week, the number doesn't drop daily, but it still bothers me. So this morning I had to force myself to drink a glass of water upon waking up so that I wouldn't be tempted to get on the scale

Stormy- congrats on the tall boots. I have always had big calves, so I know the struggle.
  • Hi Halfagain!! Good to see you back! You got this!

  • Hi Everyone!

Hi Halfagain! You can do this!

I'm still hanging in there also. It's a very slow go this time, but the pounds are slowly coming off. I've lost 12 on this reboot and am ready to continue and lose 12 more. My fall clothes are fitting better, but I still have fall and winter clothes that I'd like to wear.

Stormy, I also hear you about the boots. When I lost the weight the first time, I bought my first pair of high boots. I wear them all winter long now.

Have a good day, everyone. Hang in there!
  • Met my first mini goal of getting out of the 160's! Today I officially weighed in at 159.6. It was a long week of not having the scale move, so this made me extraordinarily happy!

Now it is time to focus on mini goal #2- getting to 155# by Thanksgiving (US). I am setting small achievable goals for myself so I don't worry about the "big picture". This allows me to just think about it in small chunks and celebrate small victories along the way.

It was such a huge relief to make it into the 150's. It has been a while since I have seen my weight start with a 1 5. I am feeling good and I am definitely losing inches as well. I wore a pair of jeans yesterday, and while they were still tight, they were not nearly as uncomfortable as they were a few weeks ago. I'll take it!

Hope you are all having a good weekend. Hang in there! I know for me, weekends are definitely the hardest 2 days of the week
  • Congrats, Jenny!

Similar to you, I have about 20 pounds to go until I get back to my goal. I am anxious to get there!
  • Hi All! Another pound is gone! I'm celebrating every pound now! AND there was a ".1" after the number 137, so that means 136 is not very far off. Yay!

I know it may be silly, but I really enjoy changing the numbers on my ticker and profile and on those excel sheet Challenges. It just feels good to see them go down, even if it's little by little.

I've also been a sick lately with a bad cold. It's finally getting better, so I'm a happier camper.

Stormy, hope you're feeling better by now.

Jenny, Congrats for getting into the 160s! Whenever I enter a new "decade" it's a great accomplishment. For me, seeing the 130s again was wonderful. I remember when seeing 130 meant I needed to go back on P1, as 125 (or lower) was my original goal weight. I hovered in the 120s for a long time. I hope to hover there again during the holidays.

Have a great day everyone! It's so rainy here. I was supposed to go to Dallas this weekend, but it got cancelled because of the flooding.
  • Hi Everyone!

Congrats on all the great weigh in's this week! Everyoe is making such great strides!

I am back on the program as of Thursday and getting back into ketosis was a little rough, but I think I am over the hump at this point. I am looking forward to getting into a smaller size here since my jeans are getting very baggy in the rear end. I am working on trying some new things this week as well to try to get a little variety into my schedule.

It's so nice here- the leaves are changing quite beautifully and the cold temps mean I can pull out some clothes that I hope will fit well soon. Hope the fall temps are nice by you as well!
  • joysh- I am the exact same way! I love updating my stats and my spreadsheets

I am full blown starting my reboot using P1 (with alternatives). I sort of started on Sunday (it was a VLC day, but wasn't really following any kind of protocol other than just keeping carbs low) and yesterday was my first day full on P1. By tomorrow morning, I should be in ketosis. That would be 3 full days of VLC.

So far, I feel good. I have been using the Quest powders as my alternatives and I really like them. I have more flavors on order to add some variety. I am starting to see some changes (I am down in weight from the other program) and I noticed my clothes are fitting better. Thank goodness!

Right now my focus is getting to 155. I am focusing on 5# increments for mini goals. Once I get to 155, it will be the lowest I have weighed in about 6 months. I am very excited about hitting that milestone.
