I typically do not have an issue jumping off plan for a day or a meal and getting right back on track, so I am not really worried about Thanksgiving. It actually keeps me more in line knowing that I have a special cheat coming up. I know it will take time to work off that day and could very well be a week until I start losing again, but to me, it is worth it.

I have been totally digging making the rolls with the added onion powder and garlic powder. It is my now my go to.

I also haven't had a chance to try a modified recipe using the multi-purpose. This weekend has been extremely busy and I have been just relying on the basics. Also, we ate out a few times, and even though I stayed OP, it is just not the same as making your own food. I am glad that I am back to routine tomorrow.

Hope you all had a good weekend!
Funny, I must have a low sodium soy sauce or beef broth. I had it again for dinner tonight and I added some salt (I also needed to make more au jus and used Italian seasonings) - it was just like getting a French Dip at a restaurant. Here are the pictures...

This was my breakfast waffle this morning with the peanut butter maple syrup (waffle was made with the WF sweet cream - I highly recommend it).

I agree with you on the savory recipe as well as sweet recipe. I thought I had the setting on the garlic powder set to sprinkle and instead it was on the setting to spoon it out and when I shook it much more went into my batter than I planned but it was so good so I now know not to be afraid with those seasonings with the multi-purpose.

I am looking forward to my menu on Thursday. It feels like a cheat day to me but mentally I will feel so much better staying in ketosis.

I will make a blueberry waffle with the multi-purpose and let you know how it comes out. Normally, I would make it with the Vanilla but I'll do this for you
I have WF sweet cream or I may use French Vanilla - I am expecting this to be a secret ingredient to use with the multi-purpose. I will use blueberry extract in the batter and I may top with WF blueberry syrup. I may make 2 syrups to see which I like better - the blueberry syrup as is and taking the WF maple syrup and adding WF blueberry fruit spread with a little blueberry extract and heat for 15 seconds in micro and stir really well. I suspect I will like the one using maple syrup better as I already know I like the maple syrup by itself as well as mixed with the peanut butter so I assume I will like it mixed with blueberry fruit spread and extract.

Thanks everyone for the hints on the chips. I only had the cheddar because those were the only ones stocked (maybe that was a sign that they were not the favorite flavor). I will try a couple of the other ones when I can get back to the store.

The french dip sounds really great. I might have to look for that cookbook, sounds like it is well liked.

Hope everyone is having a good week! Keep up the good work!

PS- I have to get on the PB waffle bandwagon!!! I can't eat the WF products because I react to them, but I am thinking a little SF syrup and PB2 should make a pretty rockin' PB syrup! Maybe I will do this for dinner...

I made waffles Saturday morning with Vanilla pudding. I also make a PB syrup with PB2 some hot water and a little coconut oil. It was SO good!

Making plans for Thanksgiving on Thursday. Friends and family can't believe I plan to stay OP and not cheat. It won't be easy. I really love lefsa and there will definitely be plenty of that there!

I got some unflavored quest samples so I can try and make the rolls you've been talking about Jenny. Have you posted the recipe? I haven't really dug around for it. Any tips?

What type of reaction?

I am going to have the waffle as my snack - I was bummed this morning about only a .6 pound loss so just grabbed a quest cookie as I didn't feel motivated to do anything. I was like a kid on Christmas Eve last night waiting for morning as I thought I would have a 4-5 pound loss after 2 bad weeks only to realize that this week was worse than the prior 2 I stayed up wrapping presents until 2 am because I couldn't sleep awaiting my weigh-in as that would most likely determine if I could give the best present to myself, which is to be transitioned by Christmas. I still have 12.8 pounds to go to goal so no way will I lose that plus transition by then.

Mama- I am sure the recipe is floating around somewhere, but it is very easy.

1 scoop unflavored Quest
1/2t. baking powder
1/2t. xantham gum
1/2t. stevia (or splenda)
dash of salt
garlic powder
onion powder
2 oz. ice cold water

Mix all in a bowl until you have a dough. Transfer to a cookie sheet or small pan and try to shape as best you can into a roll. I use my toaster over and the small sheet it came with. I also use a piece of parchment paper to prevent any sticking. I sprinkle a little of the onion powder on top of the roll. Bake for approx. 15-20 minutes (depending on your oven) at 375.

Ro- whenever I use "fake" sugar/food products, I stall out and do not lose weight. I discovered this on my first time with IP because I was using a lot of WF stuff, Mio flavoring in my water and Torani flavorings. There were a couple of times where I had really low losses and it coincided with my use of those products. Once I cut them out, my losses picked back up and were a lot bigger. I also have this same issue with soy products, so I avoid those too.

I hate to say it, but you have been using a lot of WF the last couple of weeks and you haven't had big losses...

PS- If I only use them a couple of times a week, I do not stall out. It is when I was doing it every day and for multiple meals. I bought a sugar free syrup at the store and I used it 2x last week with pancakes and I did not stall. But I can't do it more than 2-3 times a week and still lose.

Got it. That is the other reason I didn't make the waffle for breakfast. But, I didn't have issues the first time around when I had pancakes numerous times a week with the WF syrup.
I did not use the WF products much the prior 2 weeks and I don't think I used them all that much last week. It was within my coach's guideline.

But, I decided to cut the zucchini apples out this week.

I was shopping all day so I bypassed my snack. I'll make the blueberry waffle for breakfast with the multi-purpose and let you know but I don't think it will be comparable as I am using the WF products. I use 2 T of the sweet cream for my batter so it may have a different taste than your batter. I do not use egg whites or any added sweetener - I thought that was my compromise to using the WF products.
It all seems fishy to me because if diabetics use these products, why would we have a problem - one would think they would be the first to raise an alarm if the products were causing blood glucose to spike.

Jenny - I made the blueberry waffle this morning. I had it with the blueberry syrup from WF. I made the waffle with the multi-purpose. It was great! I used blueberry extract in the batter also. I used the WF sweet cream but no added sweetener. You could do the opposite and I think it would be fine as the blueberry extract really infuses its flavor so nicely. So, if you added some sweetener minus the sweet cream and used non-flavored syrup, you would be fine. I really liked the flavor! In fact, I think I like the fruit at breakfast maybe more than the PB one.

Mama - glad to hear you are liking the waffles.

So, I have been doing some more thinking about this whole WF sensitivity thing. I don't think that is at the root of 3 weeks of slow loss. Here's why...
when I did IP the first time, I had salad dressing just about every day as my meal (90%) of time was 8 oz ground extra lean turkey on a salad bed with WF dressing. I used a lot more dressing on that than any of the products I have been consuming lately. And, I would have pancakes with WF syrup too. So, I don't think it is that different. Granted that I have had an uptick in WF product usage these last few weeks but that is because I went from none to some.
I think it is more to do with that the last couple of months of my diet the first time, I was doing a home remodel. I didn't sit down from sun up to long past sun down so I think I didn't experience the slow down that folks talk about as they get closer to goal because my activity level was through the roof. I certainly can't recreate that but December is always a crazy month for me with holiday preparations any way so I will keep plugging away and however long it takes, I am ready for it. I have had a long journey to get to the point to be able to transition properly and I won't let a few disappointing weeks change my outlook. I know I have bigger loss weeks coming up even if that means I do bootcamp next week. I am enjoying what I am doing with the diet now which is far more important in my long term health plan (as one is likely to stick with something if it doesn't feel like a chore or is boring) than a few extra weeks it may take to get to goal.

Ok, now I have to go make Swedish meatballs and Date and Nut loaf bread (both are traditional appetizers in my family for Thanksgiving). Even though my Mom is no longer with us, it makes me feel she is close by ensuring we carry on the traditions.

Default 2nd Reboot!

Just here to say hi. I've been lurking quite a bit. I came to within 15 lbs of goal in 2011, tried again in 2014 and well, here I am again. Slightly different goal in mind though. I want to get the weight off so I can run without pain in my knee! I began running 3 months ago (CouchTo5k program) and found I loved loved loved loved loved running! But my knees took a beating. I want to run my first official 5k race in May of next year. I'm finding this reboot is a little easier than the one I did in 2014 because my goals are different. I subscribed to 2 running magazines and everytime one of them hits my mail box I feel that yearn to run all over again. I've stopped for now (No way I can do IP and continue a running program I'm afraid) but I have my endgame in sight. Oh, and I'm phasing off mid-Dec because I'm travelling internationally for Christmas. This reboot thread has been such an encouragement to me, thank you all.

Ro- glad you figured it out! It took me a while the first time on IP to figure out the fake sugar equation. Maybe you should incorporate some exercise?

I will have to try the waffles. I made pancakes with the MP and added stevia, cinnamon and vanilla extract and they turned out really good.

Thanks for the advice, but I can't do that right now. I see the back surgeon tomorrow morning. I herniated 2 disks on Aug 1 and have been dealing with that trying to treat conservatively but that is not working. I don't want Spring to arrive, which is the start of golf season for me, and realize I need more aggressive treatment so I am consulting with him tomorrow to see if surgery is now my only course of action. If so, I want it taken care of during the winter months.
Plus, I am kind of stuck on the thought of getting back to my workout routine once I transition.

This week I started stressing about Thanksgiving, and our wedding anniversary the day after.....so I've decided, instead of going off 100%, cheating, pissing myself off, and sliding out of this whole reboot (once again)....I'm going to do the next few days as Phase 2, that way, hunger wise I'll be more satisfied, wont be tempted to cheat, and then make it through the weekend without any major weight gain. Good luck to all of you, hope you have a happy, healthy holiday. ENJOY!!!!!
