Got bad news at my weigh in today.... The 2 big losses I had in the last 2 weeks were because the scale was broken. So I gained 8 lbs this week. I knew there was something up as my scale was only 1 lbs different and then 2 weeks ago there was a big difference. They bought a new scale.
Hopefully you mean you didn't lose as much the last 2 WIs so adjusted things here to a higher number not that you actually "gained" 8lbs. I know it may seem like the same but in reality as long as it's staying steady or going down over that period and not actually going up it's a good thing.

Their scale showed me at 211 last week, but it was pooched so when I weighed in on the new scale this week I was 219. I knew something was wrong with their scale as it was a lot different than my home scale and the scales are usually close.

91lbs lost is beyond impressive CS!!! Keep up the good work!
Today was a long day! I played in a "early" 5 game softball tournament. Ball tourneys in April in Canada are risky at best. This one didn't disappoint...we actually had hail during one of the games and that was one of the warmer ones! By our last game, at 5pm, the fun was gone and it was strictly survival as the temperature was well below freezing and the wind was howling into the batters' face!
The fact that it was in the middle of nowhere didn't help. I should have packed my lunch the night before because I had to leave home at about 6:30am so I was starving most of the day. I ended up with a mini-cheat of a bagel to keep me upright near the end.
Overall, it was great to play again...especially with all the weight loss. I definitely swing the bat more cleanly, with more power and my speed on the bases is much faster. In fact my first AB resulted in a single followed with a run from 1st to home on a hit so I tested the new bod right away!
Taking a 2 week vacation and don't want to stay OP, but want to stay reasonable - I know I will be having some cocktails for example. Have noticed several of you guys taking vacations and wondered what your strategy was. My thinking is to stay low carb, but follow a more Atkins-like approach. What strategies have worked or not worked for you?

MP I wish I could tell you some brilliant thing I did on the cruise but I'm afraid I can't. I basically took an IP vacation. Saying that I certainly didn't go crazy. It is still your vacation...have a few cocktails, maybe some treats. IP will be there when you get back. I think you will probably find you aren't interested in pigging out anyway knowing how tough it is to lose it again!
Hey guys, thought I would take the plunge and post up, seems like a good group of guys here
I started IP on April 13, weighed in at a staggering 232.4 (for me), I had no idea I weighed in close to that but on the other hand some of it was clothing weight as well. I met with my coach yesterday and for 6 days I was down 7.2 lbs which I felt great with, on my naked weigh in this morning I was at 220, I can't wait till tomorrow and hopefully be in the 210's range and under 100kg
Since I met my wife 5 years ago I've gained 60lbs and with anxiety and a 4 year old daughter I finally decided to make a change as I was getting scared with my health

Welcome to IP and the board, I'm right there with you, trying to lose my grad school / marriage weight. It's a great diet IMHO. Stabilizes your blood sugar and if you make sure to eat your veggies you will not be hungry.

Just got back from vacation. The objective was to eat like we were already off-plan and this was the way we would eat the rest of our lives. The goal was not to deny anything, but don't pig out. (Phase 3? or 4? pamphlet said you would put on 6 pounds when you introduce back some carbs/dairy/fruit). The wife was happy to report she 'only' put on 4 pounds. I have not weighed myself, but the notch in my belt has not grown tighter.
The shocking thing we both looked forward to going back on plan. We did not bring any IP products or alternatives as I didn't want them taken away at the security.

I know that feeling when you have to have something or you will pass out. I start getting real grumpy for no reason. Also I noticed I drink so much water now that I can't seem to tell if I am thirsty. On vacation I was getting headaches, after realizing I haven't had any water I drank some and it went away both times. Hmmm new thirst warning is a headache?
But the body running around with 50 less pounds responded good to the 90 degree weather in Florida, I miss that temperature so much right now. If you could stop sending cold, rain and slight snow from the north I would appreciate it!
So, first things first, I lost about 110lbs on Atkins induction many years ago (goal weight 176). Over time it has crept back up and just went crazy and I'm stuck at about 215 now and struggling to keep it in check.
I had some reasonable success with the Rapid Fat Loss plan (very similar principles, low fat ketogenic) but quite frankly I need a bit more creativity in my cooking and meals and so I'm looking to IP as a way to kind of "pay for variety and not having to prepare things" and get going again.
So, dropping in here as a(nother) Texas guy about to get going. Wish me luck?
And if A1Texan is still posting, I'd love to hear more about his 95% alternatives plan (just in case the IP food doesn't agree with me. Or the cost, but hey can you put a price on happiness? )
