I guess it's my turn for the hungry/munchies. Yesterday I just felt like I was hungry/craving something all day. I had a little extra chicken for dinner.
Wondering if it is approaching TOM that is causing this?
It was good to see others are feeling this way and dealing with it -its always comforting not to be alone. I do remember people saying they got hungrier as they got lighter.
THe feeling did scare me a bit - haven't felt that way in a long time - I've been on IP for 7 months - and the strength of the cravings was unreal. Not really anything specific - just wanting to eat.
Here's to a new day - hopefully the munchies are not with me today.
Its good for me to remember that this is a mental game more than anything and I am in control.
Good Morning! Love reading and seeing everyone's journey to being healthy and thinner . I just wish the scale dropped quicker. 1 lb this week hard to get into the 150's. Just tried the premed vanilla shake which I thought was much creamer than the packet. How do you stay away from eating two bars a day? This is my 7th week and I fight back and forth about running . Anyone else struggle with it?
Onmyway- you are not alone. Our stats are similar & I have experienced the same thing. This is absolutely a mental journey as well as the physical. I was having a rough time a couple of weeks ago with cravings & I don't know why. I finally just had to get tough with myself & refocus on why I am doing this. I've increased my water & that's helped some. I just have to keep repeating to myself that food does not bring me the satisfaction that losing this weight has. I can move, my back doesn't hurt getting out of bed, I can run across the street without everything jiggling & being totally out of breath. It's the small stuff that means the most.
And I agree, it helps to know you are not alone in this journey.
Oops!
I didn't proofread!
Sorry for the typos in the title of today's thread
I was on my phone and "fat fingered" it

I talked about cravings yesterday
How I jeep from having 2 bars in one day: I don't keep items around that make me want more. If they cause me cravings, they aren't good for me
Remember that exercise will not speed up this process. It is very good for you and something lighter than running may help to make you feel like you're still out moving. Weight loss in the kitchen, toning in the gym. On this plan, we save the toning for later, unless we want to slow our losses.
I've done a search and scanned endless post and still not found what I'm looking for . . . I'm sick with a head cold, fever, headache, sinus pressure, my teeth are throbbing. I've been up all night with a heating pad on my face for some relief ( being sleep deprived could be the reason why I can't find the answer to my question ). I understand about cold medicines and kicking you out of ketosis and found long list of things that you shouldn't take - my question is: is there anything that I CAN take or do I just need to tough this out?

Look for cold medicine that is sugar free (usually the kids stuff is). You can also ask the pharmesist for something that would be ok for a diabetic.

Sounds to me like you may have a sinus infection, I would go to the MD for an antibiotic....no OTC cold medicine will work for a sinus infection.
I'm enjoying catching up with my forum friends as we were away for 2 weeks on vacation. Went to Seattle for about 5 days and the weather was absolutely perfect. Warm and sunny every day. Then down to Portland for a few days and worked the Spring International Quilt Market. It was a great trip but always happy to be back home. My WI was this morning and I was down 7 lbs!!! I am beyond thrilled as that puts me in ONDERLAND!!! I haven't seen these numbers for more than 15 years. What a great feeling.
I am back on IP after a year of getting off (and not phasing off I might add). This is the only diet that works for me since I am pretty much an "all or nothing" kind of person. This diet is very strict; no room for cheating - it isn't worth the 3 days it takes to get you back into ketosis. That thinking helps me keep on protocol. I will say that the losses on IP are incredible and so worth the sacrifice.
The first week was a bit tough (but not impossible) leaving behind my favorite: bread! But I did make the "bread roll" made with the IP potato puree pack. I added some dehydrated onion seasoning (IP approved) and it was great!
First week I'm down almost 7 pounds! Woo hoo! This diet is the way to go! This time around I am committed to phasing off and to making it to my goal weight.
I am very fortunate because my IP Center is amazing. The staff are very supportive and it is truly a joy to see them each week. Besides them, this forum was a HUGE reason why I was able to lose the 27 lbs the last time I was on IP. The support here is incredible. I am grateful for each person who is making this journey alongside me.
