Congrats on starting. We have close to the same start/end weights. Mine has come off slower than most guys but you might get an idea of time frame from my signiture line.

Cool! Well they gave me the aggressive 5/wk schedule, so 11 weeks. I lost my weight on Atkins at not quite that rate, but close (110 over a year). But this is severe calorie restriction so it will be interesting to see in comparison. Dreading the food getting boring, but I see tons of variations and, well, I can eat pretty plain if I need to for a few weeks. (I refuse to think of them as months )

Once I get another weigh in I'll get my signature going, etc. (And my 20 posts.) Speaking of scales, their BF% on the Tanita scale was way off, so my starting numbers are looking very weird. I'm sending them my DEXA scan which should be pretty much impossible to argue with (at least that's why I paid for it!).
  • Whew! difficult week so far, but I had a nice NSV this morning.
So, last Tuesday (8 days ago) I started feeling a little yucky after eating. Then around Thursday I was really hurting. So Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I just had small portions, usually missing lunch and dinner because after eating breakfast I would get sick -- then after not eating for a while, I would feel better in the morning again.

Well, on Monday, I went to the doctor because it had been so long, and I wondered if it was something other than just a virus. He counseled me to get off of the diet, consume some more calories and food that is easy on my stomach. I called my IP counselor, (she was great) who then talked to her supervising doctor and came to the same conclusion.

So, Monday afternoon, I ate some off-program foods, and still got sick. Tuesday, I ate the whole day off-program, but didn't get quite as sick, so this morning, I felt mostly better, and am trying to restart.

The big news for me was that I checked to see if I was still in ketosis (figured there was no way I could be) and I still was! So, I am hoping that I won't have a difficult restart, and all should go smoothly. WI tomorrow, and maybe I won't be too far off track.
  • I st week on IP and I lost 12# and my wife was only 3?? Yet we ate exactly the same thing. Strange. Also my wife the keto stick her showed as dark as it could get on the scale and me it shows no Ketosis yet I still lost the 12..

Welcome, not so strange about the weight difference between you and your wife. Everyone loses differently and men lose faster than women. My wife and I started at the same time and after 10 weeks I've lost 73 pounds while she has lost about 30. We eat basically the same thing and yet our loses are different.

Everyone is different. My counselor warned my wife that I would lose a lot faster, as most men do. However, to-date I have lost 49 and she has lost 40. She cheats a lot more then I do. . I should be way ahead!
  • Today marks 3 months OP. My former self would never believe I could go 90 days on a diet without cheating. Well...I did have salmon twice in one week but it was really 6 days apart so it was really the end of one week and then the beginning of a seperate week so it was 2 seperate weeks...
  • Hello...and anyone else feeling like this?
Hey there! I just registered on the site today, though I've stopped by now and then for information for the last week or so.

My name's Chad. Been doing the IP diet for just over 4 weeks now. I've dropped 40 lbs total, started at 292, and only have another 32 to go. Shooting for 220, which isn't ideal for my height, but it's where I've looked my best before.

I do have a question that I'm hoping I might be able to get some insight on. I haven't varied my diet much since starting IP due to having a fairly strong aversion to most bitter vegetables. Cauliflower and broccoli are just disgusting to my palate. So I've eaten spinach nearly every day for lunch while varying the IP food slightly (doing the regular omelet currently). Lately, for about the past week, I've been getting an upset stomach in the afternoons around 3pm...right after I eat my snack item, which is usually a bar of some sort, but has also been the garlic and onion soy nuts. Without fail, I feel hot, my stomach feels like it's on a slow burn, and I just generally feel awful. It usually lasts for 2 to 3 hours. Anyone have any idea what's going on? Thanks for reading.
  • What do you mean by sick?

I've been feeling ill after eating the protein bar in the afternoons. I feel hot, my stomach feels like it's burning and it lasts for 2 to 3 hours. Is it anything like that?

I think that barely qualifies as a cheat. We will strike it from the record and no one has to know Congrats!
  • Had my week 8 WI yesterday, down another 4. Body fat dropped almost 3%. Lean mass is on the way back up. Down a total of 45 in 8 weeks. Going to bust my butt to get to 50 next week. Having to get rid of lots of clothes lately. Heading to Spokane for Cinco de Mayo baseball tournament next weekend. Been experimenting with recipes found online to stay the course. Good luck men!

I have had severe constipation on this diet and also some cramps that I feel are due to bloating from having so much vegetables (gas). So that could be it but you should definitely discuss it with your coach.
  • Happy weekend Men!

WI this week was another 5 lbs down putting me close to goal and official Onederland! 195 feels so good. My wife is on the second week and had a little emotional battle because she has only lost 4 pounds in 8 days, coupled with the first week feelings it became major. I was able to talk her off the ledge by showing her how her body had changed already.

    Keep up the amazing work.
  • Have my official wi today but the nwi this morning put me at 217
  • Official weigh in was 220 not what I was hoping for but I'm down an additional 7" this week
    Total 12 lbs & 12" lost
