  • Hello Lads:

Ton of BS at work lately so I haven't been posting as much! Pretty rough April all around. I didn't see the losses I was hoping for but I'm still pressing forward.
I lost another 2lbs at WI today...not the 4 I was looking for.

As my coach said today, this is the toughest section. I'm close to goal so I feel great, clothes fit great, look great and getting tons of compliments. My nickname with my buds in "Manorexic"!!

Now it is all about "closing". This was a commitment I have to finish but with the nice weather etc. 220 is getting tough...I'll get there somehow!!
  • Stay the course lead. I had a terrible weekend, got to get back to exercising a little. WI is friday and hope to be under 240. It is tough getting closer to the goal.

Thanks for checking in. If my pattern remains true, I should weigh in 10 pounds above you. NW was 242 this morning, but I am always the lowest on Monday morning. The (STRING OF BAD WORDS) job gets to me at times. There could be 2 more full time people in my department and we still would have more then enough to do!), but I digress...

Any way (or weigh) I thought the below article about SUGAR was interesting.

I've been feeling ill after eating the protein bar in the afternoons. I feel hot, my stomach feels like it's burning and it lasts for 2 to 3 hours. Is it anything like that?
Yes, I noticed things like that, but when I got really sick, I had diarrhea and hard pains and a lot of burping, like heart burn.

Hasn't really stopped yet, and I have been off the diet for about a week now.
  • I am getting so tired of food dreams. Last night it was a lemon bundt cake and I ate the whole thing and then was so stressed (in the dream) that I'd blown the diet. At least it was some relief to wake up and realize it was only a dream but still...
  • Had a food dream last night as well. It's been many weeks since my last one. This time it was pizza.
  • I posted this in another thread but thought I would also post it here since I'm a guy and all

I was reading the original plan was for 5-6oz of meat per day not the 8oz they say on the sheets now and it was only changed when introduced in the US, should I be following the 5-6 or 8? right now I'm doing about 6oz per day

would eating less meat slow down the weight loss process or hinder ketosis?
  • I've been eating 8.0 oz since I started and my weight loss has not been affected. I could be wrong but I thought the most up to date sheet said 8.0 oz is the protocol.
  • My own personal experience (in other words, I'm not an expert or a coach, just someone who succeeded on the diet) is that there is no practical difference between 5-6oz of meat or 8oz of meat with the evening meal. Eating more or less meat didn't knock me out of ketosis. And as long as I stuck with fairly lean cuts of meat, the difference in calories wasn't going to make or break my day either.

I wouldn't sweat it Accgy. We're still guys right? We need to follow our caveman instincts and kill some animals, BBQ them and eat them! I usually do about 8 or so a day maybe a bit more.
  • Was down to 238 today at WI...loss has slowed down but have been lifting weights in gym lately...was Down 3 inches
  • We have a big meeting at the clinic tonight. Some guy is coming down to talk about P4 - Maintenance. I'm pretty interested in it as I am getting close and I would like to hear some of his thoughts on keeping it off in the long term.

I'll update you guys on what I find out...
  • How is everyone doing. about to start me a little reboot. good to see ypu VET. hope all is well. and congrats to all the new people getting started.

    Welcome back, Big Daddy!

Funny story guys...I used to drink about 4-6 cans of Coke Zero a day (Pre-IP). For some reason today I was walking by the vending machines in my store and I popped in a buck and got a Coke Zero. It has been a long time since I had one, and boy do they ever taste sh*tty!! I can't believe I used to crave them so much!!

Same for me with diet-pepsi. Use to drink about a six pack a day. Was up at the Mall-of-America and they were passing cans out for free. IF IT IS FREE IT IS FOR ME! Couldn't even finish the can, it tasted awful. I don't know what this life-style is doing to me, but I like it. I am leaning towards Marks Daily Apple as post phase 4. For more information click here.
