ha! poor little guy, that's the hardest when they're learning to get their balance and keep falling down or bonking their heads. this is such a neat age isn't it? funny how different boys and girls are, my daughter NEVER cared abut cabinets and especially toilets, she just follows me everywhere and never stops talking

that's what i figured on the ketostix, i've got about 5(out of 100) left since buying them a month ago. obviously i use them too much, don't think i'm going to buy them again once i run out...

Novak: You look great! Thanks for posting the pics.

Just wanted to share that while having my morning coffee, I realized that I was crossing my legs!!! Funny how you take that for granted when you're thinner and then when you gain weight it's one more thing that is now uncomfortable and laborsome. Having to pick up your leg and haul it to the otherside somehow just isn't the same. Anyway, a nice NSV!

Default me and wedding

Hi all

Since some people have been asking here is a brief update

Stressed? absolutely... and I just hope that after it's all said and done I can go back to normal and sleep better hahahaha

VERY busy month, not only with my wedding at about 10 days away, but we have had way too much on our plates with Mother's day, graduations galore (I didn't know we knew so many kids!) Retirement parties, My birthday tomorrow and not being able to celebrate it like I should (considering it is one with a zero next to it) another graduation Saturday, Bridal shower Sunday, surprise guests arriving Thursday the 3rd which means I have to get them from airport and drive them home and mall etc all before the wedding, my parents also coming into town and over for dinner that night (and be surprised by my guest) Planning a big surprise "grooms gift" for my then husband at the wedding, figuring that we will have only about an hour to dance if that.... yeah...stressed

My sister continues with her own agenda, saw this on her page today and it did bug me a bit:
"Plus, I'm traveling to the other wedding in Atlanta next week as well!"

...so now we are "The Other" wedding... maybe I am just overly sensitive now but really? Truly she could have waited a tad bit and actually gotten married in July, when her divorce will more likely be final, and let me have my wedding be the June one since we have been engaged for so long and all (I did mention her wedding is 2 weeks after mine right?) and I didn't cheat on anyone, and leave everyone, etc...sorry, just venting...I would never have addressed her wedding as THE OTHER wedding... I would always say my sister's wedding, but whatever, just sensitive.

I need to head to the gym now and to go see about my surprise for my fiance as well as another task I have been assigned (like I needed it) which is a trip to Costco (30+ minutes away) to get a "specific" tri-tip for my mom who is coming to the wedding from CA and wants to take to Orlando after my wedding...oh yeah...can you tell I'm in a mood? hahahaha

I started packing things that we need to take for the wedding last night (not clothes or anything, just things and gifts) and already have 3 crates!

I would love to tell you about my gift to him but this is a public forum and you never know who is lurking ;-) so I will tell you all about it AFTER it happens, I promise.

I did get a FABULOUS early birthday gift from him on Saturday that I will be wearing on our wedding

Hi, Carla and pita. If you use a lot of spinach, thought you might like to know that 1 cup of spinach weighs 1 1/2 ounces on the food scale. I use a lot of it and measuring it out is a pain.

I always take the skin off after cooking. Actually, since I don't eat the skin anyway, I have been pressure cooking my chickens. A 4-pound chicken cooks perfectly in 25 minutes after the control jiggles. It takes about 5 minutes for the control to jiggle and 5-10 minutes for the pressure to release on its own. That's pretty fast cooking when you're in a hurry and need to eat fast or binge. You can still season it the way Carla suggests. I take the skin off and then take the meat off the bone while the meat is still pretty warm (to hot).

Hi, Novak, looking good! I know what you mean about being shy about pictures. I'm the same. So I'll just say I look similar to Novak in both before and after pics. Just change the hair color to dark brown and take off the glasses (I wear contacts.)

Jordanna posted Phases 1, 3, and 4 in the Stickies under "Ideal Protein Diet." Click on the fifth sticky down from the top. Then go to page 2. I would have included the PDFs here, but I am not too computer savvy. Thanks, Jordanna, and thanks, Carla, for helping us with our forum.

Breakfasts have been huge and yummy on phase 3. The rest of the day is just like phase 2 except you can have any vegetable now. So I had a spoonful of mashed potatoes and some peas early on. Divine. There will be a weight gain of 2 1/2 to 5 pounds sometime between starting phase 3 and phase 4 depending on your sex and size. It is not fat. It is glycogen being replenished in the body. So you might consider going into phase 3 that much less than your actual goal. I didn't because my husband was too impatient for me to be done. He doesn't like me quite so bony.

I ordered some items from Lindora and bought a huge bottle of Muscle Pro from Costco. It tasted pretty good and I had it for bf and lunch. Of course my multivit. is not the same brand but I use a for women tablets.
What other sources are there to buy from that would be cheaper than IP?
On phase one what is the maximum number of carb grams allowed? Protein? fat?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks BevS so much,
What other products of theirs have you used safely (i.e. did not stop losing weight)?
Would my rep/coach allow for products to be bought outside of her control? I mean they make a living out of this, don't they?
Do you guys miss fruits?
Does the soy from health food market have as much protein?
I have in the past bought soy chips from them but it didn't have a lot of protein.
Thanks to Carla for finding my original answers so I didn't have to. I'm a bit computer illiterate.

I'm not in your area, but you can order WF products from Netrition.com. They have everything and shipping is a flat $5 for the whole order. It arrives pretty fast too without having to pay extra for faster delivery.

Does Spring Mix count towards the 2 cups of vegetables, or is it considered lettuce?
I started out eating a lot of cucumbers and salad, of course. Lately, someone turned me on to Mt. Olive sweet pickles sweetened with Splenda and I've been eating them a lot. Also celery sticks spread with Walden Farms peanut spread. Spring mix isn't really considered lettuce, but I count it that way sometimes.

My new phase III sheet that I just got from my coach still divides out occasional and select veggies and says no to peas, corn and potatoes

I'm going to be phasing out of the program on June 21, I'm going to let my body take a break for about a month and a half and I'll be re-starting in August.

I can't wait to be on phase III - the breakfast options are going to be something to look forward to every day!

He has great taste! What a beautiful gift to wear on your wedding day!
I know what you mean about people being insensitive. Maybe, from what you have said about your sister's approach to things, it was expected??? Just move on and let it go. You are still the first wedding, planned well in advance, people who know y'all know her too and the story, SHE CHOSE TO PUT HER WEDDING SO CLOSE TO YOURS... maybe she shouldn't complain if she didn't realize the added stress that might bring her.
I truly hope you have friends, bridesmaids, maid/matron of honor to help with some of these chores/errands/airport pickups... it could help a little!

You're welcome! I just had time last night and thought "I know how challenging it is to read through 10 pages for messages, I can help"

I am so excited about us having our own forum space to organize.

Thanks for the tip about the spinach. NOW why didn't I think to do that!

I can't wait to get to the phase 3 part.. still a few months to go though. YUMM.. maybe I will still get to try some summer fruit!

Helps that I picked it out ;-) Well we were at the store and I was just trying things out and he said "do you want it?" ...as I said it is my birthday tomorrow so he didn't know what to get me so that was my gift

Friends? well not so much as I moved here from California and don't really know many people other than his family really. My maid of honor is his cousin's wife and I love her yet she is also very busy with work and school and horses so ...no, plus it is MY family that I have to pick up. Could not delegate to strangers for them really.

The surprise for my guy no one can help with because it is a surprise for all so...on my own LOL

Costco no one else here is a member because it is so far, so I need to go hahaha yup, I'm toast!

And on my sister... yeah it's just annoying to deal with... there have been other incidents too when she had to come first and during my wedding and how she is imposing on others times as well and could care less that it is MY day and wanted me to do other stuff so she could have her way and do things she wants to do and torment people... ugh, I will just be glad when it is over. Example, my dad has to be the one to get her at the airport SMACK DAB in the middle of my rehearsal dinner because SHE could not come in at any other time nor can she grab a cab. So I can't have my father to rehearse, kind of important that he be there and all but hey, she is what matters.
She cheated on her husband and left him in October, brought the new guy to my parents house without their knowledge of what was going on and had them rent a room for him at their house, 3 kids that she seemed to not even worry about any more (the youngest was 10), my brother in law is still taking care of my cousin and 90 year old grandfather who live with him still, etc... it's just beyond selfish.

So i am back from 12 days in Las Vegas. I had an amazing time. We go every year to play pool in the National Pool tournament. It is such a blast. I was a little bummed this year as someone ran over our neighbors dog the week we left and I had stopped to help and got bit. My hand was all bandaged up. I got bandages off before we left but it made it hard to shoot pool. that being said we really did have a great time. I had already phased off IP as I knew I was going to be gone for so long. I have not officially weighed in but my scale at home shows about a 7lb gain. OUCH!!! I go to see the coach on Friday to discuss what to do now. I don't want to go back on IP fully because I leave for Hawaii in three weeks, then big surgery, then denver in July. I was planning on getting back on IP in August to get to my goal weight. May need to take the plunge sooner. Guess I will find out on Friday

My husband started IP today. He ended up being able to see the coach yesterday so he got to start a day earlier than expected. So far he's only called me a couple of times to complain. I just keep reassuring him that after the first few days it will get much easier. I'm really proud of him for taking the leap and starting IP. He went from being completely skeptical to jumping on board. I'm happy that we are doing this together now. Even though my husband has been 100% supportive it's nice to have my "partner in crime" with me in this now.

Showgirlaz,
It was super nice of you to do that for me. i appreciate the time you spent very much. It is impossible to catch up with all the posts. I tried before I knew all I was reading (all 28 screen pages) were just a couple of days in 2009. Then I pretty much gave up. But if I am askign a question, is there any way to go back straight to posts that addresses my question?
Here it goes: I know even Atkins is not as unrestricted as it was before where it comes to fat grams but has any one looked to see how many grams of fat, carbs and protein are allowed in phase one? Of course it may depend on do you have 50 or 100 pounds to lose but from what i have gathered, that really isn't the case. So, what is the answer?

One more thing:
Any one has found a similar version of vitamin, mag/calcium and other tabs used in IP? I am interested in finding a cheaper version of them.

We are going to be in Dallas (Frisco actually) for 3 days in the beginning of August. My son has a TKD tournament there. After that we are driving down to San Antonio. I haven't been able to decide if we should stay the full week in SA or stay some of the time in New Braunfels. Either way we are going to Schlitterbahn. Do you know what else is fun to do in New Braunfels? Any suggestions? I don't know why but I am just having such a hard making up my mind and I do need to get our reservations booked.

Sorry but I am full of questions:

Dr Bernsteins siet does not give you the nutritional data of each product.
Which supplement is close to IP supplements on Matol? I think they only sell vitamins and vitamin related products.

Hi Tricia, I would be happy to send you a sample. I noticed a change in my skin in the first 2 days of using the sample I was given. I was looking to get rid of my fine lines around my eyes and mouth. I have friends using it for their acne and it is working great. Thanks for checking out my picture and the positive comments. Please send me a PM with your mailing address and I will put a sample in the mail for you.

Weddings are stressful with all the planning and everything else. It will come and go and you will be beautiful. That is a gorgeous necklace and it will compliment your dress wonderfully!

Thanks for checking out my new picture.

Thanks to you too Carla. I have missed coming to the forum. Great job getting our own forum.
