Default Good morning IPers!

Another week and more success I'm thinking! I'm on my third week and 9 lbs. down. Never been so encouraged on a diet in my life - I'm 57 and it was such slow going until IP.

It seems I lost some weight in my face - which I needed! - do you all find you start losing from the top down?

I am concerned if we try to go to a daily chat thread it will be even more challenging for all of us and some very good information will be lost to archives as we all avoid a cumbersome search process.

To that end, I contacted Ruth to see if she, as our moderator, could help us to obtain our own sub forum in the carb counters forums ( like ATKINS thread). The advantage to this, if it were granted, would be we could have chat, sticky's by topic of really frequent and important information, and have something that is more organized and searchable. Ruth agreed to look into this for us and let us know what can be done.

Below I have posted the comments between Ruth and I. If anyone has feed back, questions, or more, I am interested
I think it's a brilliant idea!

Default Exercise

Not sure how this works.......beings this thread is opened is the other one closed? I read this on the other thread and had a question

Consider taking a break the first 2 weeks while you adjust to the diet. THEN, exercise. I wish I had. I haven't exercised at all and my coach doesn't like for me too. HOWEVER, many of the women on here who have experienced the big losses are exercisers... Jordanna regularly rides her bike, CW walks 3miles a day, CarlaShea works out, I think Vicjul, and Elizabeth, and a few others are active exercisers too! My advise is keep it to low intensity exercise but definitely work it back in by the end of week two.

My coach told me not to exercise either because I would get new muscle and it would slow the weight process down. However I will be ending my second week and think maybe I should start exercising. Can you tell me what exactly are low intensity exercises? Is there something I can do at home? I have four small children so I do not get out much. I do have an elliptical and a total gym......are those off limits and how long should I exercise?

Thank you

You're doing great, ratfancy! The general consensus is the first place you lose is the last place you put it on. I lost in the belly first.

I am only 3 pounds away from the 7777777777777ssss.
So excited about that! Here's my thought on eating rhubarb with IP maple oatmeal without it being a restricted food. If I only eat 1/3 of the oatmeal, then it is more like a non-restricted food. Am I right here???? See I really want to try the rhubarb crisp idea but I also really want to get to the 170sssssssssss. Just wondering...
mamaerinb- then I want to try your recommendation. Maple Grove farms pancakes....
Showgirlaz-Just for fun, I am trying Chaplain'swifey's 2 drinks and a jello today. She has lost a lot very quickly and you have me thinking, maybe 3 of these drinks isn't the way to go...I've never had the jello and wonder how it can be without the Whipped cream?????
AND definitely HAVE THE BABY. If you are wondering about it NOW what will you be feeling at 60 when you didn't do it?? I love my two children more than life itself. For me, there is nothing as good as being a mother and yes, I have had a pretty serious career too. Just do it right now. 60 is the new 50 anyway. You will have a 20 year old at 60. Not a problem. Read the quote you put at the top of this page.
Have a great week everyone. Aren't you glad you found IP???

Great going Ratfancy, I am 60 and I too have never found an exciting program as IP with such great results!! Keep up the great job!.

About the jelly thing: after you make your jelly up mix it with the wildberry yogurt ( already mixed up) and pour into TWO dishes, changes things up and is YUMMY!!

I have had almost three weeks without stepping off the program and I am going to make it through this week too. With many family members coming to town to celebrate the wonderful person my aunt was I am encourged to stay on track. Up until yesterday morning, I was supposed to leave on Thursday for a wedding in Kansas City, MO, and I was planning on not sticking to it while I was gone. Now, I am excited to be able to stay on plan and have a great week while staying at home.

Happy Monday everyone!!!!

HopefulTricia, so excited for you to being close to the 70's! Definintely try the pancakes, they are a great value and in my opinion better than the IP ones bc of the lower carbs

Showgirlaz
then they must be old! they're little white ones, i guess my skin was stretched out so much on my thighs before i just didn't notice them~ i will look into the bio oil for sure though, thank you!

GREAT JOB NEESEE!

Did you start IP in Jan? You make me very excited, as we're close to the same goals. How amazing to be only a 5 months away from goals!

Great job!!! Keeping on the program while at an event can be exciting and when you do it makes you feel so great!! Our children had a 40th Anniversary Surprise Party for us 2 weeks after I had started and I did so well the whole weekend, I was proud of myself and you will be to!!!
GO FOR IT!!!

Yay, Neesee! I can feel your joy! Don't make a habit of skipping your veggies or third protein for the day. Especially the protein. Or you could start losing muscle. And I think the final protein packet helps our bodies stay in ketosis overnight.
