Journey..That is so exciting, please update when you go in next week I know how you feel about those darn Mii's,, Wyosun and I were joking about them too in the last thread...evil little suckers
Jordanna!...Yay for new bras...I remember when I finally hit a 38DD, it was like a whole new world of bra options opened up...so much fun. And the shorts...YES!!! Canada is just like the UK for sizes, so just think if you went on a shopping spree in the US you would be in a 14 Enjoy it all, perhaps a little prancing in front of the mirror is called for!
Kellyrook...like the new ticker!!
Justpeachy...I am also a ready to drink shake girl. About 2x a day, chocolate or vanilla....never liked coffee so I stayed away from the mocha. I also have the strawberry pudding and wildberry yogurt, I just add a ton of water and make those shakes too...delicious!
Pitakitten...good luck today, we are heading out to birthday party as well today, but I must say the longer you are on the program, I think (just me) that you are less inclined to even think about cheating...the results from IP are so much better than the brief taste of a "naughty" food
Mamaerin!!...I beg you, NO SCALE, hahahaha, it has definitely made me more obsessive. You are doing awesome, stick with what is working for you
Sweetsheila!...Don't worry, if you are sticking to the program, you will see results..for sure I measured my veggies for the first few weeks, never weighed, I think I have eaten so much broccoli and cauliflower now, that I just eyeball it...new veggies I do measure though.
Rocky....ohhhh matching sets!!! I can't wait too....great point!

Whew....to those I may have missed....awesome job on the NSV..they mean a lot, so enjoy them

My scale hadn't moved much the past two weeks, so I decided to take the advice from some of the fabu ladies here (Novak, Jordanna, Hopeful, BevS), I tried to relax a little about the numbers. So I popped out to the mall, kiddies in tow, and tried on jeans.......FIT IN A SIZE 10!!!!!!!!....Now let me be real clear that they were snug...no MT (thanks Rocky, haha), but definitely snug. And it was the only style that I could fit into a 10.....but thank you Gap for your Long and Lean......who knew those words could ever describe jeans I wore.....Yay for me..

Sad day in my world, my dear aunt lost her battle with cancer. She was a fighter, first diagnosed with breast cancer more than 20 years ago. It returned several years ago and she fought it in every way known. She is now no longer in pain, but that doesn't comfort me much.

Do me a favor and keep yourselves healthy and get screened regularly.

Hugs to all!

Found my new favorite *Sunday Treat*, I purchased the MapleGrove Farms Sugar-Free Pancake mix a few weeks back and finally made a batch today for lunch. They are a great alternative to the IP pankcakes(half the carbs and only about $4 for 6 servings!!) and the nutritional content is very similar. no off limit ingredients either MapleGrove Farms also makes a sugar-free syrup made with splenda as well!

IP Pankcakes(mix only)-147 calories, 1.7 g fat, 12 net carbs, 18 g protein.

Maple Grove Sugar Free Pancakes(mix only) 120 calories, 2.5 g fat, 6 net carbs, 15 g of protein

CG, will do, no scale at the house!

pita, do did awesome!! hmm, never had smoked salmon, not a big fish person but am interested in trying new things now that i am changing my entire way of eating . is it really fishy or a mild fishy-ness?

want2run, so sorry to hear of your loss, you and your family are in my prayers today.

i don't weigh veggies- 2 cups of veggies is a volume thing not weight(1 cup=8 oz), i could never eat 2 lbs of vegetables a day!

i think i may just hold off on getting a scale at home, i already hop on the one at work 2-3 times a day during the work week, no need to obsess over it any more than that i suppose
I have a old fashioned scale, weigh myself nude 1st thing in the morning after going to the bathroom and again at night before I go to bed...have to be strict with myself so I don't do any more scale hopping than that!!

Yes I would like the answer to this too! I have 3 x a day and my doctor knows that. What is wrong with having them??? They are not restricted.

want2run Iam so sorry to hear of the loss of your Aunt. I hope you're comforted by wonderful memories of your times together.... so very sad. I am proud of you not running for the pantry!

So how did they taste? I still haven't made the IP ones and I bought the WF maple syrup just for them. Were they really yummy?

:
smoked salmon is beautifully delicious! not fishy at all. Its very big in northwest of course. Try some, usually it goes great with cream cheese, bagels and capers or cucumbers. But for example today I had it with a bit of fresh crushed pepper, cucumber and capers. so basically rounds of cucumber was my cracker . I really like it. Highly recommended by me. pssst: today I am stuck on 141.something (early in the morning, I was actually 140.something. Its going down. I so so so so want to be 130 by end of August.

wow, what a difference a few months can make! i too need to go bra shoping, started at 38DD and i just measured this morning and i'm 34 around on my chest!! not sure if i'm at a large C or a small D now, but goodness i don't think i've been in a 34 in bra since middle school! congrats on the BMI change too. i have a question you may be able to answer jordanna: my coach's weight watchers digital scale measures BMI and her scale shows 30%(started out at 34) bmi. my bmi calculations on the online calculators and on fitday are at 26.5, of course i'd prefer to believe those but how accurate are thse electrical current bmi scales??

anybody decided to chunk the scale because it was stressing them out too much?

Carla-Thank you!!
Hi Erin! How lucky you are to have baby time. I only get that when I take my nieces or nephews for a weekend. Unfortunately, I have no kids, but I wish I had. Now, at 41, I still want to have kids, not sure if I can and not sure if I would feel to "old".. Seems weird to think of being 60 and having a child graduating from high school. I have been spending the day doing housework, washing the dog, and working in the yard. Very relaxing!

I kind of did like you with the bra size. I was a 38ddd when I started IP and now my ribcage is a 32inches my bra size is off though. (Unless I can go for a custom made bra or buy some really ugly piece of armor.) I should wear a 32F/FF depending on the brand. I actually buy a 34DDD/F which works out very well except it is beginning to be to loose around the ribs even on the tights hooks. I keep hoping to end up as a 34dd so I can MAYBE find some cute bra and panty combinations.

I haven't chucked the scale BUT, I do limit myself to my WI and 2 other times at home. I was starting to weigh every day or multiple times and it got to be crazy! Too many things can effect my weight and I was losing my joy out of having any change in size, measure, or weight because "it wasn't what I expected."

Be a little more patient. Also, watch everything! Are you using your journal? review it for things you have had too much of (occasional veggies, milk, diet soda, coffee, etc.) or too little of (water, salt, omega oil). Are you about to start you monthly (TOM)? You will start to gain some water weight and it will cause some people to plateau for up to 15 days while they prepare for and go thru their cycle THEN they have a much larger 3 to 7 pound drop the week after. In case you haven't read or been told yet, this program will change your hormones A LOT and will effect your birth control so, be careful if you don't want any surprises.

I don't measure much anymore. I just spot it, if I am unsure, I measure. The thing I have to measure most often is Spinach! I love it raw and always take too much.

For my meat, I always measure after cooking.

I wish I could, someday (crossing fingers) be small enough to get matching bra/panty sets. My bra is large enough they are hard to find in "CUTE" let alone matched. WHY don't lingerie manufacturers realize big boobs don't mean lacking in style???

HEY EVERYONE!!!

I have been seeing how often we have run over the 500 posts in our weekly chat. Also, have seen many comments that the thread is hard to search, hard to navigate, and cumbersome to find specific, frequent points of interest. I am concerned if we try to go to a daily chat thread it will be even more challenging for all of us and some very good information will be lost to archives as we all avoid a cumbersome search process.

To that end, I contacted Ruth to see if she, as our moderator, could help us to obtain our own sub forum in the carb counters forums ( like ATKINS thread). The advantage to this, if it were granted, would be we could have chat, sticky's by topic of really frequent and important information, and have something that is more organized and searchable. Ruth agreed to look into this for us and let us know what can be done.

IN THE MEAN WHILE, we need to try and use the multi quote as much as possible.

For those needing to know how to multi quote please, look at the lower right corner of the post above this post. notice there are icons for EDIT , QUOTE, "+, and a page with an arrow.

The icon "+ is the multi quote button.

As you read a post you wish to respond to or respond in part to, click on the "+ icon, it will go a pink red color, move to the next post and when you find another post to comment on do the same.

When you reach the last thing you want to respond/comment to press the QUOTE icon.. do this even if you have already clicked on the "+ icon.

ALL that you multiquoted will not be in the quick reply message window, IN THE ORDER THAT YOU CLICKED ON THE MULTI QUOTE BUTTONS.

Make your response.

Click on the post quick reply

YOU'RE DONE!! This should help keep posts under 500. Also, if you are making a comment fairly close to your last set of comments, just go to your last post, click the edit button and add any other information you wish to add.

Below I have posted the comments between Ruth and I. If anyone has feed back, questions, or more, I am interested

I'll run it by Leenie and then the ADMINs and see what we can do. In the meantime, perhaps threads on specific information and questions could be started with IP.
Thanks for the input.

We have so much activity and posting and are surpassing the 500 posts every week.

We have people who are complaining that because we change threads every week it makes it hard to search information.

It is becoming disorganized and difficult to navigate.

It would be helpful to have a sub forum where we could have a chat thread and more specific topics. That should help the threads from becoming more than 500 posts in length.

The daily thread will become a problem, aggravate the confusion in navigating and finding information, and, I believe, cause people to be discouraged and leave the forum.

Who can help with this question? Thank you!

i sure do hope we can fix the problem with this forum always running over, i try my best to multi-quote but i visit the site a few times a day usually and still post a lot, i'm sure i'm guilty of partially causing the over 500 posts per week!

you have plenty of time still to have babies! i don't think it would be strange for you to be 60 with a high school grad, i have known many and many people who have had kiddos in their late 30's and mid-40's. 60 sure a'int what it used to be!

ugh, i totally know what you mean about the UGLY bras. in the last 4 years wth pregnancies and breast-feeding my breasts have gone from a 38D up to a 40EE and back down to a 34D, i have been stuck with ugly beige, white and black "granny" bras since high school and am looking forward to the shrink in breast size so i can finally shop at victoria's secret and fredrick's of hollywood for those adorable embroidered and lacey panty and bra sets and negliges(sp?) that have never fit right because of the huge boobs!

my toddler is being a monster right now, i'll be back in a bit!

HopefulTricia
the time that i attempted make the orange pancakes i totally screwed them up by not adding an egg white, it was just a big clump of gross mush that i ended up throwing away.

the maplegrove farms pancakes were AWESOME though!! and the fact that they are only 6 net carbs makes me happy because some of the non-restrictd foods(chocolate drink mix and crisy cereal) are even higher in carbs soooo...i consider a portion a non-restricted item on my agenda

about babies: my friend was 41 when she had her first one, she is 18 months now and well her mom is pregnant again so there is time. Actually most of my friends have gotten pregnant around 40 or older, its the sign of the time.

about spinach and measurements: that is the one veg that I just can't figure out how to measure. I just cooked up 11 oz of spinach, added some raw onions after and cracked 2 eggs in it too. It came to about 2 and half cups all together. So I guess for dinner I'll have 2 spoon fulls of it and I'll be done? 11 oz if I were to measure it in a cup raw would probably be 10 cups.

about ketostix and balance: wish I could give them up both. I wont buy anymore of the sticks once these are finished with. I measured in the morning and it was pretty dark and now there is nothing. I think everyday by this time, I have burned off what was OR am using them very efficiently.

those are my stories.
